Money and Meaning in “It’s a Wonderful Life”
I’d like to present you with some lessons from the famous Christmas movie “It’s a wonderful life.” Before you write me off, however, I don’t think you’ve ever noticed these insightes before. I know I hadn’t. Henry F. Potter, the brain, embodies the greedy capitalist scrooge character who enriches himself and cares for no one else. Peter Bailey, the heart, is the big hearted socialist who exploits the capitalist for his altruistic pursuits, but at the risk of constant bankruptcy. George Bailey, the heart with a brain, finds a sustainable balance by running a not for profit business while following wisely the laws of finance.

When I was a teenager, the fact that adults were the largest demographic of gamers was cited as an alarming trend. Video games were (and maybe still are) considered child's play. I don't play video games much anymore, but I do recognize the value that can be found in them. As I share a few stories from my younger days, I'll highlight the lessons that can be drawn from them. Video games might be child's play, but they also hold the capacity to prepare one for the realities of life.. if one is paying attention.

Jeremy and I made a bet back in 2016 on wether or not one part of "The Wall" would be built. As it turned out, I won that bet. In the video that we made for our meeting we talked about full self driving (FSD) and whether or not that would be available by the end of 2021. I predicted that it would be. Robert Kiyosaki wrote a book called "Rich Dad Poor Dad" in which he writes about two dads who influenced his thinking growing up. Kiyosaki compares the approaches to life and finances that his father and his friend's father had. His best friend's dad had a philosophy about money that lead to great wealth. Roberts father died broke. Robert decided to follow in the footsteps of his friend's dad and it made him rich. Yet Robert isn't the only rich guy with a philosophy about money. Dave Ramsey has one too, and it's in stark contrast to Mr. Kiyosaki's approach. Did you know that Robert Kiyosaki and Dave Ramsey disagree on just about everything? Let's take a look at these philosophies and see why these two wealthy men disagree with each other.

I've taken principles from "The Compound Effect" "The Power Of Habit" "Incognito: the secret lives of the brain" and used a writing style found in "The 48 Laws of Power" to present these principles in a unique and amusing way. Republicans have positioned themselves as the "Oracles" of Oil to politically oppose the Democrat's big government push for green energy. The reality today is that this transition to electrification has nothing to do with politics or global climate change.
