I've said it a dozen times - the real work begins after you finish the first draft of your book. You must put in the research to find the right editor for you, the right type of editor for your work, then learn to trust them when they make changes. But, you almost must ensure you put in the work to review and complete the galley edits before you ever relase your book baby into the world!

I can never make such a big decision for you. Publishing something you've poured your blood, sweat, and tears into, something you've spent years writing will require a ton of research. Please, before choosing to go through a vanity press, I implore you to research the various sources and forms of publishing before sending thousands of dollars to anyone.

I don't know if I have laughed as much as I did during my interview with hybrid author, Dahlia Rose. We talked about her upbringing in Barbados, her move to the states, and her career as a writer while she balances her process of getting her doctorate in English.
