For the month of September, Wellness Wednesday is following the theme of optimizing your immune system as we head into sick season.

In this week’s episode, Nicole dives into something she calls "wellness hygiene" to help optimize your immune system through sick season.

  • The skin, nose and mouth/throat are the first lines of defense for pathogens/illnesses
  • Cleaning your nose via saline flushes, how and why
  • Cleaning your mouth via oil pulling, how and why
  • Cleaning your throat via salt water gargles, how and why

Below is the wellness hygiene protocol:

Saline nasal flushes once daily using NasoPure, the "nice neti". What Nicole recommends for nasal saline flushes.

Add 1-3 drops of grapefruit seed extract or goldenseal tincture to your saline flush for extra oomph. Check out Nicole's Fullscript supplement account for recommendations on good supplement brands.

Oil pull with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil for 15-20 minutes right after waking (before eating).

Salt water gargle (half cup warm water with a teaspoon of salt).

Rinse mouth with antibacterial essential oil based mouthwash.
