As entrepreneurs and moms, we want so badly to present a perfect image and get everything right, but often the most important lessons are learned in the messy middle when we're still figuring it all out. Imperfect action is better than no action. Don't go it alone! This Beautiful Mess explores lessons in marketing, mindset, and motherhood so you can be encouraged to keep going despite the messiness of business, branding, and raising babies.
To all the full-time employed folks building a business, I've got a brain dump for you today! Do you struggle with feeling like a legitimate business owner because your business is your side gig? Do you constantly compare yourself to others who own a business and that's it?
Well, I do.
And I figured this one might encourage someone else struggling with the thoughts of inadequacy.
I look at full-time entrepreneurs and even though I have NO IDEA what their business is REALLY like, I feel like they are the real deal and I'm the fake. I can't call myself an entrepreneur because I am also employed by a company that gives me a steady paycheck.
Lies! Lies! Lies!
I'm getting that garbage out of my head today and I hope you do too.
If you wanna catch the video, head over to jandawhite.com and check it out. It's raw, it's real, it's part of running a business, right?!
This one's about a common motherhood challenge - keeping the house clean and clutter-less, or at least a little less clutter!
How do y'all do it? Am I the only one looking around feeling completely overwhelmed by the laundry, the toys, the random tools or shoes? When you work at home you are surrounded by it and faced with a choice - do paying work (i.e. your job!) or do cleaning work. The kids can only do so much, and at the end of the day, so can this mama.
Enjoy this little brain dump that gets to a motherhood struggle I know I'm not the only one facing.
If you've figured out how to kick the clutter, and keep the house tidy without spending countless hours on it drop me a line over at jandawhite.com and let me know!
Catch up on the whirlwind few weeks I've had - spoiler alert - it includes job loss, job gain, and new biz launch!

I've always wanted the chance to work from home and now that I have it, I share my observations from the last 6 months. I think offices or group working spaces have their place, don't get me wrong, but working from home suits me to a "T" on most days.
Some days I miss being surrounded by tons of other people, the excitement of sporting a new outfit or sharing a laugh while walking through the hall. Other days I rejoice that i don't have to navigate a 5 story parking garage 5 days a week!
This episode is meant to make you laugh, and if you're stuck in an office and wishing you could work from home, this episode is meant to encourage you. Keep pursuing, keep working toward it (or listen to the cons and maybe decide it might not be for you??)
I'd love to hear your top pros and cons at jandawhite.com or @jandawhite on instagram!
On this solo podcast, recorded in Dec. 2021, I wax poetic about my goals for the next year. Do you typically choose a word for the year? I never have, until now. Find out what my word is and what I hope to achieve in my business.
Step one is even saying out loud that I have an actual business. Can you relate? When you're first starting out it can be difficult to put yourself out there, especially when you're unsure exactly how you'll brand yourself or package your services, or even what services you will offer. But, part of working through the mess of starting a business is doing things even when you don't have them completely figured out. This podcast episode is a great example of that - a bit rambly, if I do say so myself.
Listen along as I talk about launching a side business while working a day job, my vision for the work/life balance I'm working toward, and my dream of creating a community to help others along the same journey! Oh yeah, and that word for 2022.

Building a business is messy, but rather than run from it I think you should embrace it. Just look at this podcast, I launched the very first episode one year ago and then stopped - you know why? Because I let head trash tell me I couldn't do it. Perfectionism held me prisoner and I sat on recorded episodes too scared to release them, then ran down the rabbit trail of redefining my brand and business b/c that's more fun than actually doing work (can I get an amen??)
Now I'm back, taking imperfect action to get out into the world with the podcast focused on helping entrepreneurs and business owners define your brand, take imperfect action, work through mindset challenges and embrace the mess along the way.
When you know that you'll have bumps in the road, and that imperfect action is better than no action at all, you can gain confidence you need to keep working on your business. So let's do this together! Hit subscribe and find me on instagram @jandawhite
