First he killed the GOP Legislative Priority #5, to ban Democrat Committee Chairs by playing procedural games against Conservative Bryan Slaton who was attempting to fulfill it.
Then he then demonstrated his intent to kill another; a ban on gender modification of Children, by making it clear to a man posing as a father who was transitioning his five year old boy to a girl that such a decision "was between a parent and the Lord." In other words, removing the genitals of a minor child is not, according to Geren, child abuse.
Geren, and many like him currently serving in the Texas State House of Representatives, is one of the best reasons that Texas should have term limits and why Republican Primary voters should take a closer look at candidates, especially incumbents, who campaign as strong conservative republicans but who legislate like Democrats.

As expected, House Speaker Dade Phelan and State Rep. Charle Geren block every effort by Conservative Representatives Bryan Slaton & Tony Tenderholt to follow through on the fifth of just eight Party platform planks that Texas Republican Delegates voted in June to set as this session's legislative priorities. Phelan and Geren are just the tip of the iceberg of lawmakers who are thumbing their noses at Texas Republicans that worked to get them elected.
