I'm Steve and I'm a men's life coach.
I created this podcast to share my thoughts, ideas and tips on a range of different topics, to help you take control of your life.
These are topics like: mindset, motivation, relationships, mental health, entrepreneurship , addiction recovery and many more things.
Although I am now a life coach, happily married and 10 years clean, I used to be: a childhood abuse victim, an addict, a foster child, suicidal and unstable.
I hope you can find some use, peace and reassurance in the information and experiences I'll share. -Steve

This is quite a heavy episode, I'll be honest. I do get emotional and take lots of pauses, so don't think the podcast has cut off - I'm still there. Just bear with me.
It's one that I've been putting off for a while now but I feel like it's incredibly important to talk about.
I've experienced serious depression in my life and have also had suicidal thoughts and made attempts on my own life. I have also known people very close to me who have actually committed suicide and so are no longer with us.
In this episode I share my experiences of these two, very tough topics, in that hope that I can help someone. Whether that be someone who's feeling like they're in a similar position to what I used to be, or for therapists, counsellors, friends and family members of people who are suffering.
If you feel like you might consider hurting yourself, please speak to someone as soon as possible. A friend, family member or ideally a doctor or the samaritans. There is always help available.

In this episode I talk about this phrase which I've used throughout my life: Be as real as you can for the moment.
This is a phrase I used when I was in rehab, talking to the new people who were coming in and struggling with their emotions.
I hope you find this useful!

In this episode I present you with a range of questions that are meant to be thought-provoking so you can discover what you really want out of life.
Take your time with answering these questions and I hope you find them enlightening and revealing.
In this episode I talk about the importance of considering things from other people's perspective.
I believe it's important to be open-minded and try to see situations from different angles because this will allow you to make better decisions in your life and take other people's needs into account as well as your own.
Sometimes you may not even realise that you don't do this, so becoming more self-aware is an important skill.
Throughout my life I have found that whenever I have evolved and made progress, I have had to leave people behind because they didn't match my new lifestyle or new values or ways of thinking.
I've come to accept that this is an inevitable part of personal growth and just part of the journey that makes us who we are.
Sometimes you have to leave people behind because they will hold you back and surround you with negativity; this isn't selfish, it's self-preservation.
In this episode I talk about my experiences of and thoughts about this.

This episode is the letter A - Avoid negative sources, people, places and habits
I discuss my own experiences in how I have cut out sources of negativity from my life, even if it meant leaving some people behind so I could progress forward. It's important not to be surrounded by negativity as it drains your own energy and leaves you with little positivity to fuel your progression towards achieving your goals.
In this episode, I introduce you to the concept of mindset - one of my favourite topics!
I explain my thoughts on what a mindset is and why I believe a positive mindset is crucial to achieving our full potential in life.
I have used my positive mindset to evolve several times throughout my life, taking me all the way from a homeless addict to an entrepreneur and where I am now as a life coach helping other people.

First of all, I want to make it clear that sexual harassment happens to anyone and everyone, not exclusively men.
I wanted to make this episode to talk about my personal experiences, as a male, of experiencing sexual harassment in my workplace and how uncomfortable it made me feel and how unacceptable this is.
I feel like this may be something that other men have also experienced but don't feel comfortable talking about, so if that is you then I hope you find this episode helpful.
In this episode I discuss my experiences of figuring out what I wanted to do with my life.
This can be a difficult question for a lot of us and we might not know for a long time what we want to do with our lives.
If you're still not sure, that's ok! And you might find this episode quite useful.
In this episode, I talk about mastering your mindset and emotions when it comes to the subject of pain. This can be physical, emotional or mental pain.
I discuss my different experiences of pain including pain within addiction and how I now don't use painkillers as I am clean, but also in friendships and letting people go when they are no longer good for you and also the pain in letting go of negative experiences like losing someone important to you.
I talk about how I used my mindset to overcome pain and actively decide to accept that pain in life is inevitable, but we don't have to choose to suffer.
In this episode, I describe a useful visualisation technique that I use to help create a new version of myself.
This is a really useful technique if you want to really reflect on yourself and improve yourself.
This is a great technique that helps to improve a fixed or negative mindset and can help you to become a new person and become the person that you want to be.
In this episode I talk about the painful problem of caring too much about what other people think of you.
This can be such a damaging and negative habit that doesn't actually benefit you in any way.
So these are my own experiences of this habit and how I have tried to stop caring what other people think about me.
In this episode I discuss how to increase your motivation by using small amounts of action.
This is especially useful for those times when you are feeling low in motivation and want to know how you can improve or boost your low motivation to get things done.

Stay tuned and I'll see you in the next episode!
