In today's episode, we focus on the needs of a spiritual baby. Every spiritual babe needs to be born and planted into a church family. There, they must be fed a healthy diet of the sincere milk of the Word which would cause them to grow. Our takeaway from this episode would be this: get into a solid, Bible-based church and feed on the Word of God, especially on the foundational principles of our faith. It will cause your growth process to be steady, smooth and seamless.

Babies do not know their left from their right, so they must be entrusted with the care of trustworthy hands to look after them. These people are to place them on the right diet of the Word and to lead them away from harmful teachings that can hinder their spiritual growth. Spiritual babies must be carefully guided and led to the right materials for their nourishment whilst warned against materials that can impede their spiritual maturity. In this episode, we discuss in detail the features of the babyhood stage.
Everyone came into the kingdom of God as a spiritual baby. No one was born a mature Christian.
Babies cannot do anything for themselves. They need to be seen about. Spiritual babies are the responsibility of mature Christians. Even though spiritual babies have a mature physical stature, they do not know their way around the things of God and people who are already spiritually mature must take up the task of raising them.

As we read through the epistles, we can see that as we grow spiritually, we are also growing in our faith and walking in our redemptive rights and privileges As we feed on the Word of God for spiritual growth, our faith would be built up and we would be motivated to act on the Word. Today, we go further in examining why every believer must grow. Spiritual growth helps us to go further in our knowledge of God's Word as His Holy Spirit teaches us. When we are fed on the right diet, our spiritual tongues are trained to value sound doctrine we stir up a thirst to go after the Word some more. The more we grow or increase in our knowledge of the Word, the more we grow and the more insight and revelation knowledge is entrusted to us.
A spiritual baby is often unable to differentiate between sound doctrine and false doctrine because like in the natural, babies are ignorant, babies cannot look after themselves and are at the mercy of their caregivers. Not being able to do this could prove to be fatal as the spiritual diet a person consumes determines the direction and the quality of their lives. An age-old saying says “You are what you eat”. This is why the Word instructs us not to remain infants and teaches us to grow. Growing into maturity helps us differentiate between sound doctrine and false doctrine (Eph 4: 14).Join Toorera as she discusses more on why we need to grow spiritually.

God's will is for us to grow up spiritually. Growth is an indicator of life. It is the design of God that anything that has life grows. There is a striking similarity between physical growth and spiritual growth. And just as the growth and development of earthly children delight their parents, Father God is pleased when we grow up and develop spiritually.
In this series we will be discussing in more detail what spiritual growth is and what it entails, we also be sharing practical tips and steps to attaining spiritual growth.
For the Word of God to benefit us, we must discipline ourselves to focus our attention on the Word of God. Proverbs 4: 20-22 gives us some steps to take; give attention to the Word, incline your ear to His sayings, do not let them depart from your eyes, and keep them in the midst of your heart. For the Word of God to get into our hearts, we must pay attention to it.
Have you wondered why the Word of God doesn't benefit some and why others seem to get so much from the scriptures? Well, today's episode sheds light on this question as we examine the parable of the Sower.
Understanding is key to experiencing the benefits of the Word of God in your life. The devil cannot steal the Word from the believer who understands it. We see a very good scenario in Thessalonica and Berea. Both cities had Paul and his crew preach the gospel to them, one rejected the gospel while the other received it with readiness of heart. The Berean Christians had the Word of God benefit them because they were eager to hear it and went back to search the scriptures. Their goal was to understand what Paul taught; when they did, they believed.
It is our responsibility to understand the scriptures and not that of the preacher. What does this mean for us as believers? I discuss understanding the scriptures in this episode.
Why does the Word of God have little or no effect on the lives of many Christians? Well, Jesus tells us that the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the Word that is planted in our hearts. If we let worry and fear creep into our hearts, the Word of God will be of little impact on our lives. If we put our trust in our ability and understanding, the Word of God will have little effect on our lives. Worrying is thinking about negative outcomes; you can't focus on negative outcomes and expect the Word of God to produce for you. Rather focus on the Word of God and see it produce maximally in your life.
In today's episode, I discuss what it means to trust in the Lord with all our hearts.
Many times, we get excited about the Word of God too soon. We rejoice and then when we hit hard places because of the Word, our feathers fall. We almost get into depression because we did not build the Word of God into our hearts. We just ran off premature without letting that Word settle in and form a conviction in our hearts. This is a description of the seed that fell among stony places; the seed did not have root in itself and it endured for a short time.
What do we do about this? Well, I discuss these and more in this episode.
One of the main reasons the Word of God does not do us any good is that we fail to understand it. The less we 'understand' the word we hear, the less we benefit from it. Many Christians are like wayside hearers, they are hard and impenetrable; unable to receive the Word of God.
This week, we examine the parable of the sower as we study how to get the best out of the Word of God.
Many Christians are good at following fads and new things. Our thirst for new doctrines leads us astray and sometimes shows our need for more spiritual growth. Our spiritual growth is directly linked to how established we are in the Word; the more unstable we are, the less spiritual growth we experience. In the last two episodes, we have been emphasizing the need to stay away from the doctrines of men and every wind of doctrine.
There are many irrelevant and seemingly harmless stories, entertainment, and music that we have no business paying attention to. These things are like weights (Hebrews 12: 1), they hold us back and hinder our faith. For instance, be careful about the kind of music and movies you watch – many of them have plot lines that directly contradict the scriptures and would gradually put a dent in your faith.
In this episode, we continue from the last point.
There are things that hurt our faith in God more than we give it credit for. One such thing is the entertainment we feed on and the people we hang out with. The Bible refers to this as old wives' fables - made-up stories that do not really mean anything. I discuss this in detail in this episode.
Are there things we should not listen to? Yes, the bible tells us what we should be careful of allowing in our hearts. We must protect ourselves from anything that would hinder our fellowship with God and take us farther away from Him. This week, we continue our podcast series as we examine things we should not pay attention to.
We often find ourselves deficient in certain areas of our lives more than others. We find it easier to get victory in one area than the other. This is an indication that we ought to spend more time in the Word studying and meditating on those areas we are deficient in. The Word of God has answers to every area of our life because God has given to us all that pertains to life and godliness.
So, find scriptures in the bible that talk about those areas you are most deficient in and start paying attention to them.
Many believers wait until they have a major issue before they go to the Word of God. A preacher once said, "If you waited until you needed faith to get it, you waited too long". While every believer has faith in a measure, we ought to grow and develop our faith every day for it to work for us. Feeding along the lines of faith and healing would prepare us to stand in the evil day.

As believers, we have specific books written to us and with us in mind, Our responsibility is to spend time reading and meditating on the things that God has specially said to us in those books. I am talking about the epistles from Romans to Jude. These books are unique to the New Testament Saint and we ought to wear out these parts of our bibles.

The scripture is a tool for training. We can train ourselves and other believers with the scriptures and watch as we mature. Spiritual growth cannot be achieved outside the scriptures. God has given us the scriptures so we can be trained in righteousness.

Many Christians are afraid of being rebuked or corrected. The Bible is the ultimate book; it teaches, rebukes and corrects. So it would not only reveal where you are wrong, it will also reveal how you can make it right.
Why do we have the bible? What can we benefit from the bible? In exploring more about "WHAT you Hear", we take a closer look at the benefit of the scriptures and the purpose for which it was given. Over the next couple of days, we explore four things that the bible says is the purpose of the scriptures.
When the devil tempted Jesus, He replied to Him with the scriptures and showed us that our lives must be centred around EVERY Word of God. In this episode, I try to answer what our relationship with the scriptures should be. Paying attention to WHAT we hear includes paying attention to EVERY Word of God written in the bible. What are you paying attention to? In these days where there are several things trying to get our attention, we ought to develop the habit of focus. Focusing on the right things, especially the Word of God will cause us to make tremendous progress in life.
We take it further today by examining the effects of Adam's sin on humanity. We see that man became subject to sin and all forms of depravity. This did not happen from the beginning until Adam sinned. We also see that man became subject to judgement and the wrath of God. Join us for more discussions on this thought.
Once Adam sinned against God, things were never the same again. Starting from the garden, man's feelings of insecurity and guilt began to show indicating that man was no longer in God's family like they were before. Man was spiritually dead and separate from God. We study this an more in this episode.
In this episode, we discuss the implication of Adam's Treason on every person born into the world. "Why did I have to pay for a sin I did not commit" is an age-long question about the Original sin that many don't yet have answers to. We discuss this and more in this episode.
We go further today in looking at the story of redemption. Adam and Eve bowed their knee to the devil and committed treason against their Father and Creator. We discuss what this means today and how we often open up ourselves to the devil. Doubt makes us susceptible to the devil's deceit and antics like Eve was.
From the beginning, the Father-heart of God has been clearly seen. God's desire for a family made Him create man. He created man for fellowship and intimacy. But He also gave man authority - responsibility. In this new series, we explore what led to man's fall and what Jesus has done for us.
We conclude the work series in this episode and look at the last two elements of a strong work ethic. God expects us to treat one another, our leaders and clients at work with all honour. He also expects us to be well-pleasing (professional) in all things. How we look, say, and go about our work must be done with the utmost professionalism. We discuss these in detail in this episode.
What other things constitute a strong work ethic? Today we look at goodwill (doing work cheerfully and not with negativity), Loyalty (the trust and confidence the organisation or client has in you) and diligence (the grit and consistency you put into your work). These elements shows a strong work ethic.
Submission is a very important work ethic every Christian should display in the corporate world and even in business. The Bible encourages us to submit to one another and even to employers and clients (in today's lingo). We are also encouraged to do the work with sincerity of heart. In this episode, we discuss these ethics and show how it is important for our continued growth.
Love is the foundation upon which we build a strong work ethic. As we study 1 Corinthians 13, we see how integral walking in love is to being successful at work. Love never fails; it might look like it would be a disadvantage to you especially when people try to take advantage of you. However, those who walk in love will always come out on top.
How do you know someone with a strong work ethic? In today's episode, we explore the foundation for work ethic - Love. Love is the fulfilment of the Law. The only debt we owe our neighbours or colleagues or clients perpetually is that of Love. Join me in this week's podcast as we study these together.

What does the scripture say about work? Why is it important to work? We look at the scriptures and discuss what it says about working.
Christians are light in this dark world. People are looking to us to lead the way in our character, message and output. We shouldn’t hide our identity when we go to work; however, we want to be active ambassadors for Christ and His kingdom.
Praying in Tongues consistently helps us to walk in the Supernatural. The more we pray in other tongues, the more conscious of spiritual things we are; and the more we can access God’s Wisdom to excel in life.
Our priority at work and in business is to be representatives of God. Our primary assignment is our representation of Jesus Christ.
The foundation for excelling in the marketplace is understanding your Identity and being grounded in that understanding. Jesus is the Lord of our lives and He leads and directs us even at work and in business.
What is the secret to having an excellent spirit? Well, we can learn from Daniel and his friends that consecration to God, His Word and His Will. Daniel purposed in his heart to obey God regardless of what was going on around him.
We must exercise our faith at work too. Faith is required in every area of our life as Believers. We need faith to get a new job, faith to get promoted, faith to get new pay etc. Remember, Faith is the victory that overcomes the world.
Christians must learn how to be led by the Spirit of God even in the workplace if they must excel in what they do. From the choice of a career to the specific workplace, we can lean on the leading of God's Spirit to help us make the right choices. The Holy Spirit can help us excel in the workplace by leading us in the right direction.
In James 1, we see that God is willing to give wisdom to all those who ask HIm. Wisdom here is both spiritual and physical. God intends for us to have natural wisdom - wisdom to excel in the affairs of this life - just the same way He wants us to have spiritual wisdom. We discuss how we can access God's wisdom to excel in the marketplace.
We have the mind of Christ. We have access to the plans and purposes of God for our lives. Because of this, we have what it takes to excel in everything that we do. Our conversation continues on the subject of faith and the marketplace.
Every Christian has what it takes to excel in their jobs and businesses. My Friend Laolu and I discuss what the Word of God says about Christians in the MarketPlace. When believers engage the Word and exercise their faith, they excel beyond expectations in the marketplace.
We should continually speak words that are in line with who the bible says we are, what Jesus is doing for us today in heaven and what God can do through us.
Speaking is the most important action we must take when it comes to faith. However, our speaking must be in line with the truths of the Word of God for it to work. We examine these bible truths concerning our redemption in this episode.
Confession is simply saying what you believe to be true. It is speaking words that are in line with your convictions. Believing and speaking, according to the scriptures go hand in hand. Confession is not a set of creeds, nor is it merely positive speaking or a legalistic formula to get things from God. It is speaking what God has said about a particular thing consistently.

Faith is both believing and speaking. Your words are a reflection of the conviction in your heart. If you believe God's Word, it will show up in your Words. In this episode, we examine the subject of faith confessions. What does the bible say about confessions? Listen as we explore together.
Now you know what faith is and how faith comes. You also need to know how to get your faith to work for you. In today's episode, we examine how to turn your faith loose. We see clearly from the scriptures that the primary corresponding action to our faith is speaking. Our words must line up with our hearts for our faith to work.
How do we hear the Word? Jesus tells us to be careful how and what we hear. We see in Proverbs 4: 20-22 God's prescription of hearing the Word of God. We must give attention to it, incline our ears to it, refuse to let it depart from our eyes and put them in the midst of our hearts. For faith to produce in your life, you deliberately feed it on the Word of God.
We continue today to talk about how faith comes. We look at the scriptures to examine what it says about how faith comes for salvation.
Where does faith come from? Is it right to pray for faith? Well, the scriptures tell us that faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God (Rom. 10: 17). A continuous listening to God’s Word will produce faith in your heart. The more word you have, the more your faith.

Understanding "what faith is" is an important step in receiving the blessings of God on earth. Faith is a firm persuasion based on the Word of God. It is acting on the Word of God. Join us as we discuss further on what faith is.
Faith doesn't deny the existence of the problem, rather faith believes in what God has done to take care of the problem. Faith doesn't call those things that are as though they are not; faith calls those things that be not as though the are. Instead of denying the problem, faith speaks the solution into existence. Many Christians can't tell the difference between general faith and the gift of faith. We often confuse the manifestation of the Holy Spirit through the lives of ministers of the Gospel for general faith. Every believer - minister or laity - ought to develop their own faith for their personal lives or risk being defeated by the enemy. Your good works did not save you and neither does it guarantee your possession of God's promises. On the other hand, your faith in the Word of God gives you access to the promises of God. We do not receive the promises of God by good works but by faith. Listen as we discuss this further in this episode.
Faith is acting based on the convictions in our hearts and not based on the other person's actions of faith or words. Many Christians fall flat on their faces because they followed other people's actions without conviction. Presumption and foolishness will not produce the right result. We must learn to put the word of God in our hearts and then faith will come.

There is a difference between believing with the heart and merely agreeing with it in your head. The difference is your actions. Faith is acting on the Word of God. One main reason why many Christians don't see results promised in the Word is that they are just mentally agreeing with the Word and not acting on it.

We believe God with our hearts and that's the reason we must guard our hearts with all diligence. We must never try to believe with our heads or wait until our head agrees with the Word of God for us to think we are in faith.

People often say "seeing is believing" but the Bible meaning of faith is quite the opposite. Bible faith believes before it sees. Today, we examine the example of Thomas and see how Jesus did not commend his kind of faith. We walk by faith and not by sight. Hebrews 11 shows us clearly that faith is very integral to our fellowship with God. Abel’s sacrifice was accepted by God because of his faith. Enoch walked with God by faith. Noah found favour in God’s sight and received the warning of impending destruction because of his faith. Without faith, fellowship with God is impossible. Today, Paul tells us that we have the same spirit of faith as these Old Testament saints. The spirit of faith is one that believes and speaks.

Faith is the foundation for our fellowship with God. Without faith, there can be no intimacy with God. Today, faith is still important in our fellowship with God. when we approach the Bible, we must approach it with faith, we must believe that it is God speaking to us. Faith is believing that what God says is true and that it will come to pass in your life.
