Jeremy Wayne: Radio Podcaster
Welcome to "Jeremy's Junk & Jewels". Don't forget to like and follow me so you can stay up-to-date on new episodes of my podcast-broadcast.
I've 25 years experience in the art of radio production, from internet-based/podcast, local terrestrial (AM/FM), and satellite radio (Sirius, then SiriusXM). The roles and hats I've played and worn (often simultaneously) has allowed me the opportunity to cut my teeth in music, news, and talk programming. I can also run a sound board in my sleep.
The best part of my job are spotlight interviews. I've had the great privilege of interviewing musicians/artists, authors, community leaders and organizers, non-profit ventures, and our neighbors in the Coachella Valley (Seattle and NYC, too).
Pat Kaplan, CEO for Alzheimers Coachella Valley, a non-profit organization, took some time out of her busy schedule to speak with Jeremy Wayne about the services they offer to Desert Cities residents.
In 2021, during Breast Cancer Awareness month, Casey Leier of HARC (Health Assessment and Research for Communities) was my guest. She discussed breast cancer statistics, as well as enouraged Coachella Valley residents to participate in their triennial survey.
Back in October, Jeremy spoke with Joan and Gary of the Gand Band as they prepared for their big final show with their Morocco-bound lead singer, Dion Khan, at Oscars in downtown Palm Springs. Who will replace Dion as lead singer? That's pretty big shoes to fill once you hear him with The Gand Band.
The STI rate in Riverside County is staggeringly high and climbing, and the Coachella Valley has the highest rates within the county. Want to know what the syphilis infection rate is in the desert citites? Dr. Phyllis Ritchie, MD, has the answer and it's alarming. She's CEO and founder of "PS...Test", the county's first FREE STI testing and treatment facility based in Palm Springs. Listen as Jeremy asks her about this brand new facility and how it can positively impact the desert communities by lowering the STI rates with your help.
Dr. Jennifer Conrad is a veterinarian with a humanitarian cause and passion: banning the declawing of cats. Listen in as Jeremy speaks to this courageous woman about her efforts, the companion documentary she produced, and how you can help.
