After seeing this, you'll realise there is a reason I don't do video content. My phone is crap, the weather is crap and the biggest reason, I am crap, but I still like to have a little fiddle with all the great toys on Hive and today it's the turn of @threespeak.

We went over to Ko Kret, a little island in the middle of the Chao Praya River in Bangkok for a walk. The only way to get there is by the boat you see and the one-way trip costs 2Baht which is 5pence or 6cents.

Just so you know what to expect, there is blurred out of focus video, me telling the wife to get her head out of the way of the temple, me moving the camera too fast and a bloke smoking a cigarette. I managed to pack so much into 3:44.

You might also notice how terrible the weather has been here this year. I think every video and photo I've taken has been dull, greay and cloudy. At the end of this, you will see some huge black clouds which proceeeded to empty in a biblical deluge on us just as we set off home on the motorcycle.

Finally, please notice the water hyacinths as we get to the other side. They are becoming quite the obsession but at least it provides some continuity!

Time to press 'post'. Apologies! @nathen007

PS What does 'autofill title' mean please?

So the first thing I must do is start with a confession. I didn't walk. I rode my scooter! It has been 36C today though which is far too hot for walking the 1.5 miles from one end of Soi 52 to the other.

There is nothing spectacular or noteworthy in this video or photos, it's simply a shot of a normal afternoon as people go about their daily business. It's also off this Soi where I live when I'm in Bangkok.

I just got to thinking how everything has changed since the advent of out of town shopping malls and huge supermarkets but yet here, there are still these self-contained microcosm communities that are almost completely self-sufficient.

There is nothing I can't buy or service I can't find down this one street and I also thought it might be nice to share with anyone who has never been to non-tourist Thailand, what it's really like in the 'burbs. I think it's fair to use my Soi as a benchmark for 'normal'.

Anyway, forgive the slightly shakey video. I took it on my phone whilst riding one handed and only had my 'Automatic Resistance Motion' device (or arm as I prefer to call it!) to keep it steady.

In the meantime, a few still photos to look at in case you're prone to se-sickness!

Forgive me, I'm 4 hours into a one stop, 12 hour bus ride back to Bangkok and I'm bored.

Anyway, Ive been down in Samui for a few days checking out progress and sorting a few more 'issues' and it just so happened it was a niece's 9th birthday. Party time, and why not?

Her parwnts, it seems, have just got into the bug breeding business and furnished the guests with dishes of...eer bugs. Seriously, I don't make this shot up! Anyway, Nong Peem absolutely loved them and went through at least half a bowlful.

So here she is, superstar bug eater Nong Peem starring in my first ever 3speak video.

I'll get back to the house build posts later...maybe.
