Welcome to a safe space for the girls. Our twenties (and beyond) are undeniably a time of self-discovery, unanswered questions, and the sought of what we ultimately were created to be. Glow Up, Sister aims to bring you practical tools and resources, some let-your-hair-down girl talk, and sisterhood as you discover who you are becoming in this season.
Our goal is to go out into the world and be a light, you coming sis?
Hey sister,
We’re back with all-new episodes, and we're so excited to be with you again! Before diving into the latest topics, we're kicking things off with our Help A Sister Out segment. This is where we dive into YOUR business to offer advice, encouragement, and some real talk. Do you have a situation you'd love our input on? We wanna hear from you! Drop us an email at info@glowupsister.com. Your story could be the one we discuss next!
Last month, we took a break to focus on our amazing in-person event, Woman to Woman which was incredible! We're starting September on a high note by diving into some interesting reads. This month, we're exploring "The Power of Your Dreams" by Stephanie Ike Okafor and "Seven Days in June" by Tia Williams. Grab your copies and read along with us!
We’re also getting real about burnout—how to avoid it, how to find balance, and why it's so important to give ourselves grace. Life gets busy, and it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle. But remember, sis, taking care of yourself is essential!
So tune in, relax, and let’s grow together. And don't forget to send your questions and stories to info@glowupsister.com. We can’t wait to hear from you and continue this journey together!
Hey sister,
This week is a little laid back, as I unpack a revelation I had this week, weirdly enough, at a Jazmine Sullivan concert. In going back ever so briefly and looking in the rearview mirror, I was reminded of what God brought me out of.
What used to be a point of contention, trauma, or triggers is something I can now look back at with gratitude because it no longer affects me. This realization helps heal the younger version of myself and also treat her with gentle and soft hands. It helps to forgive her and release her from what she went through.
As we navigate this journey of self-discovery and healing, it's important to acknowledge our growth and celebrate how far we've come. This episode is all about reflecting on those past wounds with a new perspective and embracing the freedom that comes with healing.

Hey sister,
Welcome to another episode of our podcast! Today, we're delving into what it looks like to "work the wait." We're starting off with some old-fashioned girl talk, catching up on life, love, and everything in between. It's always so good to share these moments with you...
After our chat, we'll dive into the Word and explore what the Bible says about putting enmity between the woman's seed and the serpent's seed. This powerful passage provides profound insights into the struggle and triumphs we face in our waiting seasons.
We'll also be talking about the incredible Jazmine Sullivan in our case study of "working the wait." Jazmine's career is a testament to perseverance and patience. We'll discuss how she utilized her season of obscurity to hone her craft, stay true to her vision, and ultimately emerge stronger and more successful than ever.
Make sure to follow us on socials @glowupsister for more inspiration and updates. And don't forget to read the full "Work the Wait" blog on www.glowupsister.com for even deeper insights.
Stay blessed, and keep glowing up, sister!

Sis, this week we're throwing it back to our FIRST EPISODE of this season (that was taken down for some odd reason, but here we are). Let's remember to be gentle with ourselves and embrace the reality of a season where we allow life to happen to us with ease, and no longer romanticise long-suffering or struggle in your relationships. We're diving into the lyrics of Queen Space by Ari Lennox & Summer Walker and OWNING what it means to set boundaries, and enjoy the life that we have built for ourselves.

Hey sister, this week we’re mustering up the audacity to find peace in the broken pieces. We’re staying anchored and finding our strength while we walk through the valley and taking love wherever we can take it from. Also, we’re dissecting “Cranes In The Sky” by Solange this week and talking about what it’s sentiment and lyrics can mean for us on our glow up journey.

Hey sister,
What happens when your current season isn't looking like what you'd hoped? What happens when it feels as though the rug is pulled from beneath your feet? Today we're keeping it real and walking through honouring our vulnerability and how that allows us to show up as women. As always, we have to do a lyric dissection and I've got a WORD for you through the beautifully melodic ''Stand Still" by Mary Mary. And then, we get into our anchor scripture that'll hold us together this week.

And as always, we're doing a song Lyric Dissection as we dive into Free by Destiny's Child.

Sissss, you've come just on time to collect your marching orders. This week we're deciding that no opposition, no principalities, no devil in hell will have our hearts, our minds, and standing in our athourity to crush the plan of the enemy on our lives. We're banding together as we go up against illness, negative thought patterns and any form of opposition that we currently face.
How do we get our marching orders without our battle songs? We're dissecting the lyrics to Battle Cry by Shontelle and ending by giving it to God in prayer to prepare for the week ahead to the sound of Queen Naija's War Cry.
I'm really ready to pull up on a devil and let him know wassup. Who's coming?

Hey sister, this week we are chasing sisterhood and only accepting relationships with women who build us up, water our seed, fight with us, and celebrate us. But to do so, we have to establish what has previously hurt us and made us distrust friendships and uproot it so we can heal, and welcome a healthy and solid foundation to our friendships.

And of course, I couldn't get into it by myself and had to enlist my good sis Harriet, once more to impart us with wisdom as she got to answer some questions that she didn't get to on the liveshow.
