Tune in to hear how everyday people like you and me went from dreaming to creating. Their dreams are possible and so are yours.
Gabriela Brunner - 0:01Hey everybody, this is Gabriella of The New Firm. And I want to talk to you guys a little bit about my online program called Operation Change Career. Now, the name is something that I came up with about five or six years ago. I personally was experiencing a time in my life where I was really in transition. Gabriela Brunner - 0:23My story is that I am an attorney by education. And there was a time when that just didn't feel right anymore. So I came up with a name Operation change career and the intention was for me to blog about my experience. I've been trying to find a new career. So what I ended up doing was going to the library and getting a stack of about this many books, what color's your parachute, great jobs to have and whatever year it was 2014- 15 whatever year it was, and I committed to blogging every single day about all of my experiences, all the tips, all the everything that I could come up with, to help other people who are going through a career transition. So committing to blogging every single day was something that I really didn't expect to be that difficult. Gabriela Brunner - 1:11So after a little bit of blogging stopped, and I kind of did it every so often. So this actually was in 2011. So there you go. So then it just kind of stayed there. And throughout the years, I tried not working. I tried contract working. I tried working for a startup, I tried going back to immigration law all of these different things. And what I found at each position and each job was that I just I wasn't happy. I was dissatisfied and couldn't understand why I was like, I'm changing my surrounding. It's a completely new office, completely new people. It's a whole other situation. But I had no idea that what was really going on was that I needed to do some internal exploration. Gabriela Brunner - 1:51I needed to understand why it wasn't working out for me in these places. I needed to understand if the practice of law was even still something that I wanted to do, and then also understand why I didn't want to do it. You know, you go through all the time and expensive college graduate programs of you know, additional degrees and certifications. You get yourself on a track. You commit to doing what you think is right for you in the moment and then at some point in time something changes and you don't really even know how to put words to it. It just feels like this like nagging this sort of longing, the sense of dissatisfaction but you can't really quite put your finger on it. Gabriela Brunner -2:28And so out of this blog that was you know, in existence four or five years ago, I created this online program called Operation Change Career. And the reason why I really believe in this program is that number one, it is all about exploring the inner so it's not so much about okay, how do you write a great resume? You know, where can you look for jobs, there's a couple tips in there about that, but it really focuses on why you're doing what you're doing. What it is that you enjoy doing. If you've forgotten how to remember what it's like to actually love what you do. There's a lot of questions in there that actually helped you even figure out if it's a good thing to stay where you are, and if it's not a good thing to stay where you are what you can do to kind of get yourself out there because I'm all about making a graceful career transition. Gabriela Brunner -3:18So Operation change career is an online program. There's 10 weeks worth of modules, and you get those in your inbox every week. Some of the weeks have two or three modules in them. You get workbooks, you get recommendations for some of my absolute favorite resources that have helped me throughout the years. And there's also a private Facebook group where you can join other people who are experiencing the exact same thing as you. So I'm really proud of this. I really put a lot of time and energy and thought and commitment and each time that it evolves, there's just more wisdom and more value in your knowledge. So I'm so excited to share this program with all of you. I'll plug the link at the bottom so that you guys can get more information about it. You can also reach out to me at Gabriela@thenewfirm.co, if you're interested in this program, but I do encourage you guys to check it out because it really is something that allows you to take your time you get support from me and the other people in the program. Also get an opportunity to get the recording to get lifetime access, which is really awesome. So I wanted to share this with you guys. I really sincerely look forward to hearing any questions or you're interested in the program.Gabriela Brunner - 4.34I hope you guys have an awesome day and I can't wait to join you and all the other people participating in Operation Change Career. We'll talk soon. Bye bye.
[00:00:12.310] - Gabriela BrunnerHello everybody. So I hope you're all doing well. And my name is Gabriela. So I wanted to hop on live because the last few days have been very charged, energetically, emotionally, just a lot of things going in the world. And then even on a more micro level, individually and personally for me and my family.[00:00:34.610] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I've been thinking a lot about just life, right? This year has been goodness. I don't think there's even an appropriate word to express or encompass everything that this year has been for so many people on so many different levels. And sometimes I start to think to myself, why is all of this happening? Why is this happening?[00:01:02.090] - Gabriela BrunnerMaybe you're thinking, Why is this happening to me? Why is this happening to my loved one? Just why? Right? And if you're anything like me, we try to seek answers in the external.[00:01:15.060] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I have a library full of books, personal development books, psychology books, just everything that I can get my hands on to try and help me understand life, right? And my life more specifically. But one of the things I've come to realize is the absolute power of our own internal wisdom, our own internal guidance. And I personally, I don't like to speak for other people, but I personally used to be very strongly connected to my internal wisdom and I used it to guide my life and my decisions. And then I don't know if it was just life and getting older or having more responsibilities or more things pulling at my time or less energy or whatever it is.[00:02:12.940] - Gabriela BrunnerI've kind of really gotten away from that. And I tend to be a people pleaser and somebody who really validates or values external validation. I've learned that about myself. And so sometimes it's like I prefer external wisdom or guidance or answers to my own internal wisdom. So I'm not sure if any of you watching this can relate, but sometimes I just feel like it's a lot easier to ask my friend or my husband or whomever or even read it in a book about this or that instead of really trying to turn inward and really trying to listen to those answers from the inside.[00:03:04.130] - Gabriela BrunnerSo one of the things that I realized that happened with me was that I totally forgot how to listen to my own inner wisdom. And then by totally forgetting how to listen to it, I ended up not being able to trust it because I wasn't sure what I was hearing, I wasn't sure what I was feeling. I wasn't sure what was kind of going on in my own mind and in my own heart. And slowly, throughout the years, many years, god, the universe, you know, the powers, the greater power, put people and things in my pasta and I picked up the little breadcrumbs. And those things helped me realize, basically helped me reconnect to my own internal guidance and wisdom.[00:03:50.630] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I firmly believe that the tool that works the best is the one that works the best for you. So, in my case, through a lot of trying, a lot of experience, and a lot of experimenting, I have figured out that there are two main tools that work brilliantly for me. And one is the Akashic Records, and two is Kundalini Yoga. And for me, it's very important that whatever information or wisdom I get, that I can actually ground it into my life. And by grounding, I mean, like, bring it into the physical.[00:04:25.140] - Gabriela BrunnerIt doesn't help to have some kind of theoretical idea out there that doesn't really function in real life, right? Because we have to live in real life. So what good is it to have this kind of wisdom that tells you something that just you can't even apply to your real life? So these two ancient practices or practices or technologies for me, help me connect to my intuition, help me connect to my inner voice, my heart, my inner wisdom, and then apply it to my day-to-day life. And so, for example, the Akashic Records are a beautiful, sacred, ancient wisdom, and essentially, think of it as, like, all of the life experiences that your soul has ever had, and somebody's up there writing everything down, everything that has ever happened to you in this lifetime, in previous lifetimes.[00:05:26.610] - Gabriela BrunnerSo you have to believe in previous lifetimes, I suppose, in order to resonate with this. So it's all written down. And so learning how to get into your own Akashic Records, how to access them, it's almost like stepping into your own private library and learning where on the shelf that information is and how to grab it, and how to read it, and how to get the answers to the questions that you're looking for. And then sometimes we need to then be able to bring that energy into our physical bodies. And so the practice of Kundalini Yoga helps to do just that.[00:06:00.850] - Gabriela BrunnerAlso, on the flip side, kundalini Yoga has helped me connect to myself and to my intuition so that I can trust the information that I'm getting in my records, right? So it can go either way. I really hope you're having a beautiful day. And however you get there, I hope that you trust your own inner wisdom more often than not.
[00:00:00.250] - Gabriela BrunnerHi, everybody. Good evening. I hope everybody is having a really good start to their week. So maybe a couple of minutes earlier than I said I would be tonight, but I was able to get my son down, and now I'm excited to be here with all of you feel like my energy going up when I get ready to do these chats with you guys. So just lets you know that I love doing this. I love hanging out with you guys. I love talking about topics that actually help move us forward and help advance us. And that's what I want to talk to you guys about tonight. So lately we've been talking about being an Explorer in your own life. And just recently, I've had an opportunity to actually become an Explorer in my own life again. I have been an Explorer in my own life for probably as long as I can possibly remember, but definitely much more deeply since I hired my first coach and joined a Mastermind and then joined the Mastermind for the second time. And I've just really given myself the space and the opportunity to really understand what makes me tick.[00:01:03.050] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd for those of you who have watched some of my lives before or seen some of my messages before, I really don't think it's that we don't know. I think it's that we've just forgotten. So we've just forgotten what it's like to live freely, to March to the beat of our own drum is the analogy that comes to mind. And as a result, the moment that we give ourselves a chance to go deeper and do this work, and it's not always pleasant, let me tell you, there have been quite some experiences where I've managed to feel pretty sick and have bad headaches and just the whole nine yards. I mean, there's physical symptoms that come with sort of doing this work as well, which can make it really challenging and makes you want to give up if you don't have the right kind of support. But as I've become an Explorer in my own life, I really started to understand that I do very well when I have space. So I've started meditating. I have been doing a prosperity abundance meditation. I completed day 31 today of 40, and I may keep going after that.[00:02:04.170] - Gabriela BrunnerI started a Kundalini yoga meditation. It's about five minutes long, but Holy Moses, it is quite the five minutes you just feel like incredible afterwards. And in addition to that, I also do more of like a traditional meditation where you sit and kind of either quiet down or have some kind of meditation music or something like that, kind of have your frame focus on that. And one of the things that I've realized is that literally what we desire, if we're open to it, comes to us pretty much instantly. And I want to give you guys an example of this because I've heard a lot of these kinds of stories in the past. And I'm always like, how does that even work? So you've heard what I've been doing. You've heard that I've been carving out time to be in silence, to meditate, not being on my phone all the time, not trying to be doing something all the time, busy all the time. I've really been trying to create space. I had an experience where about not even two weeks ago. So just two weeks ago yesterday, for those of you who don't know, I've been doing a contract job.[00:03:12.090] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd that contract job is stable. It's pretty mundane. You're just kind of looking at the same stuff over and over again. But it's flexible, it pays well. And I've been doing that for about seven or eight months. And just about two weeks ago, I started to feel that I was getting bored. And I didn't want to let myself feel that because I didn't want to shut myself off from having this job. Right. Because I didn't know what else I would be doing at the time if I didn't have this job to help sort of have some inflow of money.[00:03:40.570] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I started thinking about that.[00:03:41.740] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then I kind of let it go because I didn't want to go there. Right.[00:03:44.970] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then that night, I got a phone call from a colleague of mine, a former colleague of mine, saying that the law firm that she's at doing immigration work just got a huge family of, like 21 asylum cases. And asylum is for people who have been tortured or mistreated in their own country. And then they're coming to the United States to seek asylum, or they're in the United States already, and they're seeking this protection, saying that they can't go back to their own country because of what they've endured. This is a huge family, like, 21 plus people who are engaged in this process. And she was like, we need help. Are you interested? And I was like, wow, that was pretty instant.[00:04:20.850] - Gabriela BrunnerLike, just that morning.[00:04:22.500] - Gabriela BrunnerI was thinking about how I was bored. And then seriously, out of nowhere, I didn't apply. I didn't even put any interest out there that I was looking for anything related to immigration. And the fascinating thing about all of that is because we're these energetic beings, it's like the moment that we actually put out that vibration, that energetic vibration, and then we actually create the space for once to come in, to come in, you start to see those changes. So I've noticed that as I've become an Explorer in my own life, because I didn't understand that before. I thought that I had to pound the pavement. I thought that I had to go out there and apply to 150 jobs.[00:04:56.730] - Gabriela BrunnerI thought that I had to do all of that.[00:04:58.020] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I just kept myself so busy. So busy, so busy that I clogged up the flow of stuff coming in. And I wouldn't believe it. I've heard these stories before, and I've always been like, oh, that's great. That's great that it worked out for them, but it's never going to happen that way for me. And people kept telling me, just create more space, allow for things to come to you, be open to receiving. And I was like, oh, my gosh, what are these people even talking about? And slowly, it has started to sink in.[00:05:24.740] - Gabriela BrunnerStory of my life reach slowly.[00:05:27.950] - Gabriela BrunnerIt has started to sink in that if I can trust that everything that happens is for my greatest and highest good, and that if it doesn't work out, the way that I plan is because something better is coming. If I can trust in that, then sure, if I had to stay at my contract job for another month or two months or three months or another year, it would have been fine, because that would have been serving my ultimate goal and purpose at that point in my life. So I'm going to fast forward a little bit to today, which is my first day back in immigration, something that I could not have foreseen doing, to be honest with you. Six months ago or about a year ago, I left immigration law specifically to go into the business, my coaching and do that full time and all that kind of stuff. And today I had a really interesting experience because I could have very easily taken everything that I have been through in my various immigration positions in the past with different employers, with different clients, all of that stuff. I could have carried it into all of this, and I could have painted myself a really bleak picture.[00:06:27.310] - Gabriela BrunnerThis is going to suck. This is going to be super high stress.[00:06:29.770] - Gabriela BrunnerThis person is going to be that person is going to that. But instead, I decided to use this as, like, an opportunity to test myself in a way, to see how much I've grown, to see how I can use all of the techniques and all of the experiences that I've had that have made me more present, more aware, more receptive, more grounded, and see how I can handle a situation that is inherently chaotic, that is inherently complex, that is inherently dramatic, that is inherently literally life or death for some people. When I first got there, I could really feel all of the energy. It's almost like even the files were, like, breathing energy because there's so much drama, so much life, so much history, so much story, so much challenge, and all that stuff in every single one of these files, right? Everybody's story is there. And even just, like, right outside the office that I sit in, I could see little feet, like, scurrying around, scurrying around, scurrying around. And then in my office, I was, like, trying to be calm, trying to just kind of do what I do and focus. And it really felt like a bend the way things used to be, the scurrying around, the just doing everything just to get it done.[00:07:37.660] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then the now we can focus. We're going to get it done. If I need to take a break, I take a break.[00:07:42.460] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I was so curious.[00:07:43.630] - Gabriela BrunnerIt was so interesting. And I took this perspective of being an Explorer in my own life and just asking real questions, like, how does this make me feel? And why am I feeling so jittery that everybody's walking around like chickens with their heads cut off just outside the door? And what am I feeling when I read these people's files? I mean, this family of like 20. There's like 50 some odd people by the time you tally everybody up. And this one mother lost like three or four of her sons were murdered, and then some of her grandchildren were killed just on and on and on. Right. And this is like humanity, right? So just being able to then center myself and really be the advocate and really be sort of the voice of reason in a way. And I kept coming back to just wanting to be really grounded and really calm about the situations that I could be of absolute service to these people and not get so caught up in the details. And again, I was like, that is so cool if we all could think about life in that way and not always getting caught up in every single detail and being worried about everything that was going to happen or not happen or when it happens or if it never happens.[00:08:51.940] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd it just was a really interesting experiment. And it's also going to be a little bit of exploration of my stamina because it's been a different experience. My brain hasn't worked this way in a little bit. So I thought I was super curious. I wanted to share this with you guys because lately my theme as I'm getting ready to launch the second round of Operation Change career is how can we become explorers in our own life? And we're starting a three day little mini challenge tomorrow where I'm going to give you guys three prompts for one a day. They're going to be really concise. They're not going to be six days worth of journaling. It's really just to get you guys thinking about how you guys can become explorers in your own life and thinking about an area where you really want to focus. And then you're going to have some guidance in each one of the days. And all of this is really inviting you to just ask yourself these questions when you're exploring something for yourself. Ask yourself what it's like to be an observer of your own life and see what you can learn, what wisdom you can bring to your own experience to make it better, to elevate yourself to that next level, because that's what you're meant to do is get better and better every day to grow into exactly who you're meant to be.[00:10:05.460] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd the more that you can examine these opportunities and these experiences, the more that your inner game or inner work, you're just going to up it and update and up it and then the exterior is just going to look completely different. So that's my little spiel. Thank you. For those of you who are starting to log on, you guys can go back and listen to the beginning of this and if you guys have had an opportunity where you've been on Explorer in your own life, then share with us. I'd love to hear sort of what kind of Ahas and awareness and clarity moments you had and I want to personally invite you all to just in the Facebook group, bring a friend if you think somebody could really benefit from being in this group in general and then for this challenge specifically. So three days, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, you'll get a little prompt each day to think about help you think about how you can be an Explorer in your own life and I may have a surprise or two up my sleep as well. So I really am so grateful to you guys for being here and I hope you have a beautiful evening and I will definitely be talking to you soon.[00:11:05.300] - Gabriela BrunnerBye.
[00:00:00.250] - Gabriela BrunnerHey, everybody, this is Gabriela. I hope you guys are doing super well. I had a very interesting experience today, and I wanted to come on live to share about it because it made me understand and realize a little bit more about what I am creating in this new version of the guided career. So my mom's in town visiting. It's my daughter's birthday, and we're getting everything ready for her birthday.[00:00:23.840] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I was kind of feeling crummy this morning because I was feeling my perfectionism and my anxiety taking over for all the stuff that I'm putting together for her birthday and people pleasing and all this kind of stuff. I was talking about whether being at home as much as I am home is enough for me, if I feel like my children are better off maybe being in school a little bit more, what kind of jobs I could possibly get, what kind of income opportunities, all of that stuff, talking about my business, where it's at, all of that, I really like. I'm honest with you guys. It's something that I've always been. And so that's why I put this caption that I get anxious too.[00:01:03.070] - Gabriela BrunnerI get cranky, too. I go down that rabbit hole, too, and I also need support. And so I realized today that how valuable it was in this case to have my mom listening to me. She lives in a different state, so I don't get to see her all the time in person and how valuable it was for her to just listen to me and hold space for me. Now, this concept of holding space was something that I really didn't understand until I started working with multiple coaches.[00:01:27.610] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd so the concept of holding space is kind of like when a therapist listens to you, but it's just like I'm going to create this space like a room, let's say, and you can do whatever you need to do in that room, and I will be here, and I will help hold up the boundaries and the walls for you so you don't fall apart, you don't get hurt or anything like that. But I'll be here for you so that you can express and go through the emotional wave or the emotional roller coaster that you need to get to to get to the other side. So a lot of times I wonder if I'm doing what I'm meant to be doing, if I met my purpose or fulfill my purpose. A lot of the questions that you guys have that you guys come to me with, I also experience, which is not uncommon when there's a coach client relationship. Usually I'm a few steps ahead of where my clients are, which is always very fascinating.[00:02:18.230] - Gabriela BrunnerSo it's like I'm about to experience something or I am experiencing something, and then I get a couple of clients that are experiencing something very similar. So it's like, very realistic, very moment by moment, play by play kind of thing. So I've been experiencing some anxiety around being present, being where I am having enough time to work on my business with my kids in school, only they go to school three mornings a week for 3 hours, all of those kinds of things. And so one of the things that I realized was that when I had somebody that I felt comfortable with and that I wasn't going to feel judged by which in this case is my mom. When I had her ear, it's like I needed to ride this emotional wave and this emotional roller coaster to get to the other side of like, yes, I chose this.[00:03:03.850] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm fortunate that I don't have to go out and get a traditional job right now. That my job, as I've chosen it, is to stay home with my kids and to be available for them and to make unicorn birthday cakes, and all that kind of stuff. And then I just realized the value of having somebody create that space and hold that space for me so I could ride that emotional roller coaster. And it only was maybe a couple of hours, not straight through, but we were running errands and going grocery shopping, and I was sharing all of these things and just kind of riding that wave that I know that I need to experience in order to come to a conclusion on the other side, which is I'm okay where I'm at. I love what I'm doing.[00:03:44.710] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm building my business. I'm attracting new clients. I'm experiencing all of these different things exactly as I want to right now, and that I've actually chosen this life and that I don't have to be ten steps ahead of where I am right now, that in ten steps, I'll be ten steps ahead. Does that make sense? So not forsaking the present moment, for the future, which is something that I do a lot with my anxiety.[00:04:08.050] - Gabriela BrunnerSo when I do have anxiety and I get really anxious and nervous about what I'm creating and what I'm doing, is it good enough? Is it perfect? Is it enough? Is it attracting the right people? Is it blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, a lot of that is my own story in my head.[00:04:20.490] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd so when I have an opportunity to talk to somebody about it, especially somebody that I can trust and that loves me unconditionally, I recognize how valuable that is. And I had that experience today, just this morning, just a few hours ago, where I was able to do that, I was able to talk about my feelings, talk about my frustrations. I was the one who was saying, like, well, actually, the truth of what I'm saying is X, Y, and Z. So I could even see my own truth, which was so fascinating. Whereas in the past, I wouldn't have been able to do that because I would have been so far down the rabbit hole that I would have said, no, the whole world is awful.[00:04:55.150] - Gabriela BrunnerEverything is terrible. Now I'm like, well, the world sucks and things kind of suck. But the truth is, I want to be able to do this. I want to be the one picking up my kids. I want them to nap at home and all that kind of stuff, whatever, right?[00:05:07.450] - Gabriela BrunnerThose are my personal preferences where I'm at right now. So the reason why this felt so important to share is because I get anxious, too, and I get cranky and I go down the rabbit hole and I need support, too. And it also got me thinking about sometimes I get nervous when I offer something different, something new, like, in this case, a different version of the Guided Career, which is a group program where we have a Facebook group, we have monthly workshops. We have a community that we're going to be building in order to allow us to have the space and the support to navigate these challenging experience, especially when it comes to jobs and work and managing and balancing and families and careers and money and all of that kind of stuff. So it was an experience that I had.[00:05:52.900] - Gabriela BrunnerI was like, wow, my mom is holding this container for me. She's holding this base for me. I'm venting. I'm not hurting anybody because I'm not saying this to my teachers or my kids teachers or my boss or the innocent person down the street who just happens to catch you on a bad day. I'm saying this to somebody that I trust so I can ride at the wave where there was coming up with the crazy train.[00:06:15.270] - Gabriela BrunnerI can ride on the crazy train for a little while and then see what's happening, see my own truth, see what become aware of what's going on, and then get off the train and continue on with my day. And so what I realized was whether it's talking about something negative or having somebody guide you through the transitional wave or the emotional wave that you're going through, doing that in a safe space allows us to then go back and be productive citizens, to be more effective and efficient at work, to be a better spouse or parent or child or sibling or friend, because we were able to go through that in a safe place and then come out and not burden everybody around us with all of that. I'm not saying that we can't talk to our friends and family members about this kind of stuff. I just did it right. You just heard me say that I did that with my mom.[00:07:06.160] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd at the same time, I also like to be cautious about not always bitching and complaining to my mom about what I'm going through or to my friends about what I'm going through and having those people always be the ones that have to support me in this way. I personally have found a lot of value in having specific kinds of support that I have in order to help me with these things because that's what it's for, right? It's like going to a car wash to get your car washed Versus going to a car wash to get groceries. It doesn't make sense, right? So the example that I use in a little something they created at one point was you're not going to go to a chiropractor to get your taxes done, right?[00:07:42.570] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd your chiropractor might be able to do your taxes but is that exactly what you want? Probably not, right? So you're kind of expecting somebody to fulfill a role for you that they may not be wanting to fulfill or they may not be capable of fulfilling or they may not be willing to fulfill but for whatever reason we put that on them and so we can do that a lot with friends and family. I do that a lot sometimes with friends and family where I expect them to support me in certain ways and the truth is that they can but they may not be able to support me in the way that I'm looking for that specific situation. So that's a fundamental reason why the guided career exists to give you the right kind of support to help you navigate these career transitions that you're going through to have the help and space and all of that to do and be the things that you need to do and be so that you can go out there and be that person that you know you truly are.[00:08:32.040] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I just wanted to share that with all of you. I hope you have an awesome Friday that's today have an awesome Friday an awesome weekend. If you have any questions about anything, please let me know. I'm here to help you with whatever I can help you with and I hope you have an awesome weekend. Talk to you soon.[00:08:47.300] - Gabriela BrunnerBye.
[00:00:00.190] - Gabriela BrunnerHi, everybody. Good evening and happy full moon. I believe it's a full moon in Aries, which is kind of cool because I'm in Aries. And so it always catches my attention when the full moon correlates to my astrological science. So I was reading something today that talked a little bit more about the energy of the full moon.[00:00:18.330] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd one of the things that caught my attention was the fact that this full moon is bringing about a culmination of things that we started back in April of this year. And around March and April of this year, I had the inspired idea around my program called the Guided Career. So the Guided Career came to life. It came to life with this really powerful transformational energy. We did a live round of it in sometime this summer.[00:00:48.470] - Gabriela BrunnerWe went for eleven weeks this summer. There were eight amazing women who were participating in the program. We had live calls. We had all kinds of really cool stuff, weekly workshops, one on one calls, the whole nine yards.[00:01:00.730] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd it's so powerful because over the last few weeks, I have been actually a couple of weeks or so. I've been feeling really strongly that the Guided Career is taking on a different flavor. It's taking on a different shape. And so today I finalized the language, if you will, on the sales page. I guess sometimes that feels like the blessing, right?[00:01:20.880] - Gabriela BrunnerIf you've got it on the sales page, then it's time to move forward with it. So the beautiful thing is that as I read that piece around this full moon and so full moons are all about releasing about letting go of what no longer serves you, about honoring those things that were and allowing space for the new things to enter. And so I feel it's really powerful, and it wasn't intentional because honestly, I didn't really even couldn't have timed it this way if I tried. So that's one of the signs for me that something is perfectly aligned, because the truth of the matter is that the way that the Guided Career unfold was so perfect for that round, and it gave me so much wisdom and so much knowledge around how it feels good to move forward with it. And so I wanted to introduce you the new and improved, right? Which is kind of an oxymoron. It can't be new and improved, but I read luck when I see that. But I digress, anyway. So, the Guided Career in this newest evolution is a beautiful program for women who are facing career transitions.[00:02:25.400] - Gabriela BrunnerSo women who know that there's something out there that's different, that they need to do something that they're not feeling quite satisfied where they are. We're taking a different approach. We're taking an approach where we're learning how to listen to yourself. We're learning new techniques, new ways of perspective, gaining perspective, new ways of figuring out how to make the best of where you are. And here's the thing.[00:02:46.540] - Gabriela BrunnerThey may not be new. I didn't invent them. I'm honest about that. Most things are not new to anybody in general, but they may be new to you. It might be a new way of trying something out.[00:02:57.160] - Gabriela BrunnerMaybe it's something you've never thought of before that's existed around you. And now through this opportunity, through this group, through this program, you're going to have a chance to try something new. Because one of the things that I firmly believe in is that in order to see if something is for you, you got to try it out. You got to give it a shot. So real quickly, because I'm going into an Akashic Records reading right now. So if you are just a little side notes, parentheses, you'd love to learn more about the Akashic Records. Check out the website. Let me know.[00:03:24.600] Back to the regularly scheduled program. So the Guided Career is this beautiful program where you're going to learn about intuition.[00:03:32.230] - Gabriela BrunnerYou're going to learn about trusting yourself. You're going to learn about ways that work best for you, to make the best of where you are. You're going to learn how to trust yourself. You're going to learn how to listen to yourself. You're going to learn how to take action on those things in order to create the job/career and life that you desire.[00:03:47.530] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd it comes in this beautiful group program. So what it is, is you can sign up on a monthly basis. You can pay month to month, or you can sign up for three months at a time. We're going to have monthly group calls or group workshops where we're going to talk about some of the most common issues in career transitions, some of the most common issues that women face in career transitions. We're going to have some beautiful guided meditations.[00:04:13.750] - Gabriela BrunnerWe're going to have some I call them the New Monday weekly prompts. So starting off Monday with a great start, as opposed to Dreading Monday. So we're going to kind of get a handle on the Sunday night Blues and just frame our weeks in a different way. All kinds of other stuff, just all kinds of stuff. So I invite you to check out the website.[00:04:31.820] - Gabriela BrunnerIt's TheNewFirm.Co/the-guided-career. It's in the notes right here. But I invite you guys to check that out because it's going to be a really cool way to ease yourself into receiving support, to having a space where you can share with other people what you're experiencing. Share with me. I'm going to be your guide.[00:04:54.590] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm going to lead the conversations. I'm creating this beautiful group atmosphere for us to really have the support and motivation and inspiration that we need to navigate a career transition. So it could be that you're thinking about it. It could be that you're actively in a career transition right now. It could be that you've gotten to your new place and you just have stuff that's going on and you're just like I need a space to talk, I need a space to share, I need a space to just be so go ahead and check out the website and I just wanted to say happy full moon in Aries.[00:05:27.730] - Gabriela BrunnerYou can Google it and find out some cool stuff there. Soul Shine Astrology is my latest fascination with how she talks about the moon cycles and what it means and also she references in terms of careers. So I think that that's a really perfect fit for what I'm creating here as well so I invite you guys to check that out too. Let's see, what else do I want to share with you guys? I think that's it for right now so I'm going to be coming at you guys a lot more in the days and weeks more consistent basis talking about all things related to careers and just different ways of looking at things, sharing my experiences and things that help me and sharing the general experiences of the women that I have worked with so far either in the guided career or one on one or anything like that.[00:06:12.440] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I encourage you guys to check out the page it's TheNewFirm.Co/the-guided-career. You can look at it in the link and let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you on the quote inside. Right. Have a good evening, everybody.[00:06:24.940] - Gabriela BrunnerBye.
[00:00:00.370] - Gabriela BrunnerHey, everybody. Good morning. This is Gabriela Brunner. And it is Monday. And I know Mondays can sometimes feel really challenging for people because it's the beginning of a new week.[00:00:11.300] - Gabriela BrunnerWe got to get to work. We got to come down from the potential high of having some time off and being home with family or friends or going on an adventure or doing something fun over the weekend. And then Monday hits and it's just like, now what? I got to do this again. In fact, this morning when my husband got up and we had a really nice weekend and he got up this morning, he goes, so one day work and then five days off, right.[00:00:36.410] - Gabriela BrunnerSo it's fascinating, right, how we just can dread Mondays sometimes. And I feel like sometimes that, that happens even if you don't have a full time job or something like that. So the feeling of dreading Mondays can come at you regardless of what's going on. And so one of the things I shared about yesterday, I believe in a post was making the best of where you are. And sometimes I can feel really challenging because you're just like, well, I don't know how to do that.[00:01:04.350] - Gabriela BrunnerLike, how do I make the best of where I am? I have to do this. I've got to go to work. I've got to take care of the kids. I've got to clean the house, do the laundry, do the thing, do the thing, do the thing.[00:01:12.000] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I really feel like those of us who struggle with making the best of where we are, if we knew what to do, if we knew how to do it, then we would already be doing it, right? So this is something that I constantly remind myself of because vulnerability alert here. I tend to be more on the negative side. And so you guys might not experience that, because when I'm coming at you, I'm talking about inspiration. I'm talking about motivation.[00:01:36.840] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm trying to share things that will motivate you and uplift you. But it's actually something that I personally struggle with a lot is keeping that positive attitude, keeping that optimistic perspective on things, because I tend to struggle a little bit with anxiety. And maybe that's just a common theme these days, because maybe it's always been a common theme, but maybe it's more of a common theme these days because if you guys watching or anything like me, one of the things that I struggle with is not enoughness or feeling like they've got their shit together. And I don't. And I appreciate the fact that a lot of you have shared with me that when you look at me, you view me the same way that I'm viewing other people.[00:02:21.250] - Gabriela BrunnerLike, oh, look at her. She's got her SHIT together. Look at that. She's accomplishing this. She's doing that.[00:02:25.890] - Gabriela BrunnerShe's taking care of this. How do you do it all? I get that question often, sometimes because the truth is, I chose to be a stay at home mom. I left the active practice of law in order to pursue my coaching business. I've been working on my business for the last three years.[00:02:43.230] - Gabriela BrunnerI recently self published a book which is going to print very soon. So I've got my coaching business. I'm in Kundalini yoga teacher training. I stay home with the kids. They're at school right now for the morning.[00:02:55.820] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm a wife, I'm a mom. All these different things. So you look at that and you're just like, wow, how does she get it all done? A lot of times I get it done fighting tooth and nail to actually do it. And so I wasn't really sure where this video was going to go this morning, but I really feel like something that's important to acknowledge is that sometimes that feeling of dread can still come up, even if on the outside or on paper, we have the ideal life of the perfect life.[00:03:24.430] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I've struggled a lot with that because I'm somebody who is very action oriented, very goal oriented. I get satisfaction from checking things off the list, but then I also don't always take the time to celebrate that thing which has been accomplished. It's almost like take care of this thing and then check it off the list and it's done and then move on to the next one. And so you can see how that can also cause some anxiety. So what I'm trying to get out this morning is that sometimes we have anxiety about the things that haven't happened.[00:03:55.180] - Gabriela BrunnerSometimes we have anxiety about the things that have happened. Sometimes we have anxiety when we feel like we shouldn't have anxiety, and that gives us more anxiety. And so there's a lot of different things that I have tested out and tried out. And one of the things that I'm a real firm believer in, it's actually something that you get when you work with me. You receive this one on one support when you work with me is we try and figure out what works best for you, because I've tried a lot of different things.[00:04:24.090] - Gabriela BrunnerListening to guided meditations, trying to sit in Lotus pose and empty my mind and clear my mind and do those kinds of things. And I've tried reading books, I've tried baths, going for walks, doing all different kinds of things. And on any given day, any one of those things might work. And so what I try to do is I try to give you guys information so we can start to understand what it is that feels really good to you, because if it doesn't feel good to you, it's not going to work. So I remember a time when I committed to going to the gym.[00:04:56.180] - Gabriela BrunnerI hired a personal trainer. I would have to pull myself out of the house in order to do it. And the truth of the matter became clear to me that it's not something that I enjoy doing. I prefer getting my physical activity, my physical movement in different ways. And maybe that's playing with my kids, going for a walk, even kind of power walking through the grocery store and getting two things done at once.[00:05:16.830] - Gabriela BrunnerSo what I'm encouraging and inspiring you to do is to try and look at things in a different way. That this whole concept of creating a definition of success that means something to you is that you get to create the definition that actually means something to you. We've been taught, rightly or wrongly, it just is what it is, that there are certain definitions of success that we should strive for. For some people, let's go to College, get a graduate degree, get a corporate office. For some people, it's live off of nothing and serve the world.[00:05:50.980] - Gabriela BrunnerFor some people, it's I don't know, whatever it is, the laptop lifestyle, hustling and grinding until you make billions of dollars, it doesn't matter what it is. Those are all perfectly wonderful and legitimate ways of defining success. The issue comes in when people adopt somebody else's definition of success for themselves. So if you're the type of person that desires to earn a lot of money, yet you grew up in a neighborhood or in a household that it's like, oh, it's selfish to have money. You can't do that.[00:06:22.140] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd you've got that belief in your mind. You need to break through that belief in order to acknowledge and honor the things that you want to do. And it's not easy, right? It's like, what if, just to give an example, I went to law school. Nobody in my family is a lawyer.[00:06:36.020] - Gabriela BrunnerBut let's just put yourself in a scenario where everybody in your family is a lawyer. Everybody generations back on all sides and directions. They're all lawyers. And you decide that you want to open a boutique shop selling antiques and wandering the world. It's going to take a lot of courage and resilience and commitment and quite honestly, support in order to make that happen.[00:07:01.480] - Gabriela BrunnerBecause you're breaking a paradigm. You're breaking through a barrier of things that have been taught to you, things that people have told you that you need or should be doing. And so when that happens, there's a period of acknowledgement, okay, man, I do not want to be a lawyer. There's probably some denial, like, oh, maybe I should go to law school or medical school or whatever school, because that's the thing that's going to work best for me because it works for my entire family. Yet you feel dissatisfied inside of it.[00:07:30.910] - Gabriela BrunnerThen there's going to be a little bit of, like, courage and boldness and like, I'm not doing that. I'm going to forge my own path. And then there's going to be some time where you're just like, oh, my gosh, what did I just do? Did I make a mistake? Especially if you're starting out.[00:07:44.840] - Gabriela BrunnerIf something doesn't feel like it's working quite 100%. So what I'm trying to get is there's this whole process that you're going to go through as you acknowledge and honor and experience those things that you truly want for yourself. That may not be what other people think they want for you. So there's a problem in that, right? Other people may want things for you and wish you well, and that's fine.[00:08:04.820] - Gabriela BrunnerBut once they start imposing the limitations on you, I use the word limitation because you're being put into a box and you don't fit in that box. And so you start to automatically feel like something's wrong with you. And the truth is there isn't anything wrong with you. There isn't anything wrong with you for wanting what you want. One of the first things that needs to happen is you need to start to think for yourself, and you need to start acknowledging that thing that you want.[00:08:28.170] - Gabriela BrunnerSo how that happens, it can happen in many different ways. It could happen for you by reading a book. It can happen for you by watching a video. It can happen for you by going for a beautiful walk in nature and then having this idea literally drop out of the sky into your head. It could happen through coaching, through counseling, through therapy, through swimming, through whatever it is.[00:08:47.790] - Gabriela BrunnerSo my encouragement for you is that if you have that nudge that there's something else that you need to do, that there's something else that you want to do. More importantly, not even need to do, but want to do. And that need can arise from a desire so strong that you feel like you need to do it, not that other energy of you should do it so that you don't let other people down if that starts to come up started exploring different ways in which you can just experience that, try and bring it to fruition in one way or another. Because the only way to truly know if something is for you is to actually experience it. So by that, I mean, for example, if you've always known you wanted to be a yoga teacher, well, maybe you need to enroll in a yoga teacher class and see how it feels.[00:09:29.180] - Gabriela BrunnerIs that something that you want to do? Maybe you need to go out and talk to some yoga instructors and see what it's like to have gone through teacher training or to see what it's like to actually own a yoga studio. This example came up for me because for a long time I thought that I wanted to own a coffee shop because I love coffee and I love what it represents and all of the different things that it does for me. Like, I love just sitting with a cup of coffee and talking with friends and doing all that kind of stuff. And then I was at a coffee shop that was not a Starbucks.[00:09:56.810] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd so it's like a locally owned thing. And I remember thinking to myself like, wow, this is not something that I want. Like, I don't want to spend my days ordering coffee, pricing it out, making sure we have enough cups, making coffee all day in, day out. I don't want to be here at 530 in the morning to do those kinds of things. So it's really interesting to have that experience because sometimes we don't allow ourselves to just be in that thing that we think we want to have that experience and we just keep thinking about it and then kind of self sabotaging ourselves in a way.[00:10:31.640] - Gabriela BrunnerSo that's a lot of stuff coming at you. And one of the main reasons why I wanted to hop on today was because I just wanted to share that if you are feeling anxious, if you are feeling like there's something a little bit different, really one of the best ways to hear that that's the word that's coming up. But I'm not sure that it's the right word, but one of the best ways to play with that is to just try doing something different. And I know that sometimes that's easier said than done. And I don't necessarily mean that you have to go ahead and quit your job or sign up for an expense of anything or even achieve anything.[00:11:06.000] - Gabriela BrunnerWhat I'm saying is that it's just trying to do a little something different that breaks up the routine of what you have been doing. So perhaps that's going a different way to work this morning or tomorrow morning, because most of you, if you're at work, you're probably there already. Perhaps that means taking a nap this afternoon. If your kids still nap, if you're a stay-at-home mom or stay at home parent and your kids nap, take a little rest this afternoon, do something different. Do something different than you think you should do to just kind of shake up some of that energy and start to dislodge some of that.[00:11:36.800] - Gabriela BrunnerBecause there's so much wisdom and so much truth held within you and your heart and your soul. I know that sounds kind of woo woo, but the truth is that you're the one who knows what you like to do. And there was a time when we weren't so beholden to the shoulds of the world. So I think about this because I have children who are three and four, almost five. And I see her personality, I see his personality.[00:12:01.460] - Gabriela BrunnerI see all of the things that they enjoy doing, their natural tendencies, their natural abilities. And they haven't gotten to a point yet where they're so jaded by what we should do that they still express those things very clearly. So I'm a firm believer that each one of us knows inside of ourselves the things that we personally love doing, the things that have always picked our interests, the things that we've enjoyed doing in the past and then perhaps we've stopped doing it because we're not supposed to, or it's not the prudent thing to do or it's not the money making thing to do. And so one of the ways in order to start remembering what that is is to do something different with your day, movement. So movement is really important.[00:12:43.760] - Gabriela BrunnerThat could be just like shaking it out a little bit, throwing your hands up in the air, doing something like that. I shared a Kundalini yoga meditation practice yesterday called Strengthening the Aura. So if it's something that's interesting to you, you can let me know, or you can Google Strengthening the Aura Korea. You can check out my friend Caitlin Edgar's website. She's got Strengthening the Aura 40 day program that you can buy from her website.[00:13:09.370] - Gabriela BrunnerThat's another way to shake up the energy. It takes 15 minutes a day to do it and to do it. That leads me to my last point that we've heard this all before. And I'm saying this just as much to you guys as I'm saying it to myself. If you want something to change, you have to be the catalyst for change.[00:13:24.660] - Gabriela BrunnerYou can get inspiration from me, from a book, from a cup of coffee, from a song, all of those things. But then once that song is over, once that video is over, once that coaching session is over, you need to physically take the information that you've received, the wisdom, the intuitive hits the body tingles, all of that, and then actually put it to action. So that's where accountability comes in. You can hire a coach for accountability. You can have a good buddy for accountability.[00:13:53.540] - Gabriela BrunnerYou can have your alarm clock for accountability. There's got to be different ways that you get motivated in order to be held accountable, to bring forth the things that you want to do. So I share all of these things because it's important that we understand that, yes, we need to do the inner work. We need to do the healing. We need to do the dreaming, we need to do all of that.[00:14:13.950] - Gabriela BrunnerBut then once we've done some of that, at least for the stage of life that you're in right now, then it's actually time to take action and do something with it and not just sit there and keep thinking about all of these things. So I wanted to just come to you with all of that information, give you a little bit inspiration for you on this Monday. It is my hope and desire that I will continue to do this on a regular basis on Mondays and check in with you guys and to see what it is that's going on with all of you and share a little bit of my story, my wisdom, my inspiration. Get a feel so you can get a feel for what it's like to work with me. And yeah, just to connect with all of you.[00:14:54.380] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I'm deeply grateful for each one of you. I hope you guys have a beautiful Monday. Do something different today. Do one little thing that's different and just start to feel the effects of it because if you don't change something, chances are nothing's going to change for you or you're going to to have have the proverbial break on the head that's going to force you to change something and usually that's not as pleasant as you taking the road, doing and making the changes yourself. So have a beautiful Monday and I'm also feeling inspired to share this because there's an idea that's been bubbling up for me and I am feeling it out, seeing how it's going to work.[00:15:34.830] - Gabriela BrunnerSo it's around the Guided Career and creating a support group for people who are embracing career transitions right now. Facing career transitions so it would be a beautiful group program. We would come together in either a Facebook group or something like that. You would join for a monthly fee and we would build this beautiful community of people who are becoming empowered and empowering each other and supporting each other in order to embrace and face these career transitions that we go through more often than we actually probably want to acknowledge. And so you would have I'd be leading the group and guiding the group and we'd have monthly workshops.[00:16:12.900] - Gabriela BrunnerWe'd have some angel card readings. We'd have a bunch of fun stuff like that building up this community. I'd be actually curious to see what you think about that because the energy is feeling really good about it. Yeah, it's just feeling really awesome. So I'm going to be putting some stuff together, throwing it out there, see what people say, see what people think and feel free to drop any ideas that you may have about that.[00:16:34.340] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I hope you have an awesome day. Welcome to the new Monday. It's your choice how you choose to live this Monday and I hope that it's full of life and inspiration and doing one different thing today. I'll talk to you guys soon. Bye.
[00:00:00.130] - Gabriela BrunnerHappy Saturday, everybody. Gabriela Brunner here of The New Firm. And I'm fresh out of the shower. And this is my fourth weekend of Kundalini Yoga teacher training. And this morning we had our early morning Sadhana or spiritual practice.[00:00:13.930] - Gabriela BrunnerI've been up since 3:30 in the morning. It's just about 08:00 now here in Illinois. And I wanted to share some really powerful insights with you that I learned today, and implemented today, I think is the best way to say I think I knew all of this. I just heard it today and it sounded like, yes, that's exactly why.[00:00:33.300] - Gabriela BrunnerSo the title is "So You Think You Hate Your Job, But How Do You Really Know That You Hate Your Job?" So I'm going to use my own life experiences because that's what I know best. So those of you who know me know that I practiced immigration law or I was practicing attorney for about ten years. And most of that time I practiced immigration law. And a lot of the times I felt like I hated my job.[00:00:54.870] - Gabriela BrunnerI was just like, my job sucks. I have no idea why I'm even doing this. This is terrible. And today I learned something about how we function as human beings, how we function under stress. That got me thinking about how many people out there could potentially have a different perspective about their job if they were able to perform their job without having stress.[00:01:19.070] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I know that feels like a big tall order because we have stress all the time. But the amount of stress that we have can totally skyrocket and literally throw our bodies completely out of whack. So I'm going to give you the very basic version because I'm not a doctor and I don't have all the terms 100% down, right? But we have two systems, the sympathetic system and the parasympathetic system.[00:01:41.970] - Gabriela BrunnerSo the sympathetic system is like our fight or flight reaction. It's necessary, right? If we encounter a big Sabertooth Tiger while we're going to the grocery store, we want that system to kick in. We want that stress so that we acknowledge the danger and then our body can react appropriately so that we can fight or flight. Right?[00:02:03.500] - Gabriela BrunnerFight or flee. And that's a legitimate stressful situation. It's like a legitimate thing that our body needs to do in order to save our life. Now what's happened is our society has evolved to a point where those aren't, at least in our world, at least here in the United States, encountering a Sabertooth Tiger down the street isn't really going to be a thing. But the amount of stress that we're under is almost similar.[00:02:28.650] - Gabriela BrunnerRight. But the threat that is coming at us is like a different threat. It's like a psychological threat, like a mental threat. And so when that happens, I'm just thinking back to maybe a time when I would have a job evaluation and I would be sick to my stomach up all night, my sympathetic system would be completely charged. I would be in this fight or flight mode, like adrenaline, and not be able to sleep because I was so terrified, so afraid for, quote, my life by the perceived threat of a job evaluation.[00:03:01.630] - Gabriela BrunnerSo now you can see the situations are very different, right? Like a Sabertooth Tiger, I'm assuming I've never met one could actually mall me, kill me, hurt me. Right. A job evaluation can't necessarily kill me, unless maybe I have a heart attack in the middle of it. But you know what I mean?[00:03:16.900] - Gabriela BrunnerLike, the threat is very different. And so what's happened is because we no longer live in a society where we worry about elephant stampedes and all that kind of stuff, we've basically now become a world where these psychological or mental threats have messed up our sympathetic systems. So think about going to your job. Right? And this would happen to me all the time.[00:03:40.600] - Gabriela BrunnerSo there were a couple of times where I received unfavorable job evaluations, and that started to build a story in my head. The story in my head that I started to build was, I'm not good enough. I'm a terrible lawyer. I'm not doing a good job. They hate me.[00:03:55.830] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm going to fire me. So I would sit in my office, and basically, anytime somebody would come by, especially if it was a partner or somebody of authority, I would literally jack up my sympathetic system. I would go into this fear mode, this fight or flight, and I would be, like, super tense, super nervous adrenaline all over the place, just completely out of whack. That is no way for me to actually function and do my lawyer job. There is no way that I could think calmly neutrally, that I could associate facts, that I could do any of that stuff, because that's the way that I'd be jacked up with my sympathetic system.[00:04:27.040] - Gabriela BrunnerSo the parasympathetic system is the exact opposite, right? Let's just say you come out of a deep meditation, and you feel really relaxed. You feel neutral. You feel able to view the world exactly as it is. And so when we're in our parasympathetic system, we thrive.[00:04:43.500] - Gabriela BrunnerWhen we are in our sympathetic system, we survive. And so think about if I was in that situation where it's Monday morning, I'm at my desk. Maybe I just had a not so good job evaluation on Friday. I stewed the whole weekend. I jacked up my sympathetic system.[00:04:59.370] - Gabriela BrunnerI didn't sleep well. I drank maybe too much alcohol or something to try and forget about it. Or maybe I ate lucky food. I didn't get exercise. Come Monday morning, I'm jacking up on caffeine.[00:05:10.490] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm aggravating myself even more, and I'm sitting in my office, like, literally afraid of that. Anytime somebody knocks on the door or stops by, I'm going to jump out of my seat. Right. Because I'm so high on my sympathetic fight, or flight is so intense. So now what if I had techniques, breathing techniques, meditation techniques, yoga techniques that would literally snap me out of the sympathetic system, bring me back into a more balanced parasympathetic system, then I could actually think clearly.[00:05:38.410] - Gabriela BrunnerThen I could actually look at the information on my desk and really work on it and evaluate it. Right. And so today we had a guest yoga instructor who is a super experienced Kundalini yoga teacher, doctor of chiropractic, wrote a book about anatomy and yoga. And I'm sorry I didn't bring it with me, but I'll share some benefits from that book when I have it in front of me. But he literally shares the effects of yoga on your heart, on your nervous system, on your brain, on your digestive system.[00:06:07.540] - Gabriela BrunnerSo the goal is to learn these techniques, learn these tools that have been proven not just by the fact that they have survived hundreds of thousands of years way before we even knew, but because there's actual science behind how meditation, Kundalini yoga and yoga in general help you have a more neutral mind. So if you can go into your job and have a neutral mind or be more in that parasympathetic state, you're actually going to be able to evaluate whether you like that job or not. Now here's the thing I always like to drop caveats footnotes. There are certain situations that are awful. There are certain situations where you're being abused verbally, where you're being taken advantage of, where you're being discriminated against.[00:06:50.440] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I'm not saying to ignore those situations. Those are very serious situations that they demand the appropriate attention and appropriate action. I am no way implying that you do a couple cat cows or breathing techniques, and that's going to go away. Your ability to react, your ability to respond, your ability to deal with the situation is going to improve on your end. Right.[00:07:13.090] - Gabriela BrunnerSo that you're not driving yourself crazy while this happens. And then also you'll be able to deal with it appropriately and take the action that you need. But I'm talking about more general dislikes heading towards the hate your job. And if you can take that step back and develop a practice that works for you before you go to work, maybe during your job. I'm teaching the women in the Guided career a beautiful meditation.[00:07:35.530] - Gabriela BrunnerWe've done it for four weeks, and then I gave them a different one for this last fifth week. But it's called a meditation for a calm heart, and it's literally designed to calm your heart down so that you can make decisions from your heart space. We also learned today that I'm not going to get the terminology right, but there are cells that are in your brain that are also found in your heart. So that's interesting, right? You would think that there wouldn't be like the same kind of cell in your brain as in your heart.[00:08:00.720] - Gabriela BrunnerBut what that means. What the science is saying is that you make decisions from your heart. So when your heart is calm, when your heart is neutral, when your heart is able to see the situation, it actually guides your brain, guides your mind to make the best decision for you instead of you reacting from a place of like, wow. And the other thing that was really cool that he told us today is the definition of stress. So the definition of stress is an overreaction to a sympathetic situation or experience.[00:08:29.300] - Gabriela BrunnerSo when I was telling sympathetic type things are when it's that fight or flight. Right? So you have stress in a situation, like when I shared with you that somebody came and knocked on my door at my office and I literally jumped out of my feet because I thought I was going to die. That's an overreaction to a sympathetic experience or situation. So we're under an extreme amount of stress because we go crazy with thinking about and overloading us on our sympathetic system.[00:08:57.780] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I wanted to share that with you guys because it's one thing if you know you don't like your job. It's one thing if you've tried everything, you've tried meditating, you've tried talking to HR, you've tried switching departments, you've tried anything you could possibly think of. But if you haven't tried these techniques, I encourage you to give it a shot because you're in the job, you're in for a reason. And chances are you've got bills, student loans, a family, people are expecting something from you. And the money is needed in order to live your life.[00:09:31.100] - Gabriela BrunnerRight. In order to buy food, pay rent, do all those things. And so making that rash decision, I'm going to quit my job because I hate it without giving it a chance, without giving it an opportunity to see if it really is just the fact that we've just the fact because it's a lifetime of building up stories in our head, things that happened when we were a child, all of these it's an accumulation of things that has led us to have that reaction that I would have in my office when someone knocked on the door. And so with meditation, with breathing, with all of that, we start to neutralize those events and give us a completely different perspective and vantage point so we can evaluate our job. What if you went to school and spent tons of money to get a specific degree because you had this passion in your heart that that was going to help you serve people, and then you just on a whim because you quote, hate it, decide to throw it away?[00:10:23.720] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm just saying, give it a chance. And if you don't know about these tools, reach out. Let's talk. Let's see if these tools can be helpful to you. Because if you still hate your job after trying these things, then it's probably time for a new job or a new career.[00:10:37.450] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I wanted to share that with all of you Because I feel like it's really important to understand that it's not just one little event that is triggering this dissatisfaction with where you are. It's a lot of different things and one coping mechanism or one technique that can help scientifically proven Is yoga, the breath meditation, Korea. All of these are components of Kundalini yoga. And so if you give yourself at least an opportunity to try it, at least it can buy you some time to then work on making your career transition. I like to work with people and call it a graceful career transition Because it feels better to leave your job and feel okay about it Than to leave your job in a half and not know if you're going to get a recommendation or a referral or whatever.[00:11:19.470] - Gabriela BrunnerMy next paycheck is going to come from all that kind of stuff. So I want to give you the best chance at figuring out what you need. And these techniques could help. And it's interesting because to kind of back up my claim that this isn't new for me, I wrote an article on my blog. Scroll back, you'll find it.[00:11:37.110] - Gabriela BrunnerIt's a picture of, like a bookcase or something bookshelf, library. And it says an open letter to you. And it's a letter that I wrote specifically to attorneys, but really to everybody else. Talking about different tools and techniques. And what was cool about today? One of them is yoga meditation.[00:11:52.310] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd what was cool about today was just the fact that I got to learn more about why that happens. So yoga is awesome, right? We all love yoga. It's a thing, right? You're cool.[00:12:00.690] - Gabriela BrunnerIf you go to yoga, you look cool. But do we really understand why yoga helps us? And now you do, right? We got the sympathetic, the parasympathetic, how that calms you down, how that helps you see things more neutrally and how it helps you gain a different perspective. So I appreciate you so much.[00:12:15.960] - Gabriela BrunnerThank you for being here. I trust this was helpful. I'm currently in the middle of the Guided Career program. It's really feeling like there may be another round coming up soon, but at the end of the day, I just want to make sure that you guys have the best chance of figuring out where you're going to spend most of your time and how you're going to earn a living. So if you have any questions, if you want to talk about anything, Feel free to send me a message and I hope you guys are doing so well.[00:12:38.890] - Gabriela BrunnerTalk to you guys soon. Bye.
[00:00:00.190] - Gabriela BrunnerHey, everybody, it's Gabriela Brunner of The New Firm. I'm just so excited. I know I say that a lot, and excited isn't even the right word. I'm honored, privileged, blessed, humbled, overjoyed, ecstatic. Greatful.[00:00:15.520] - Gabriela BrunnerJust all of it. Seriously, how they say all the feels. I really have all the feels with this. So what I wanted to talk to you guys about today was possibility.[00:00:27.210] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd it's actually perfect because there actually was a time in my life when I didn't believe that putting my book together would be possible. You guys can go on my blog and read more about the whole journey about the book. But the point is that it took almost two years for that book to go from just being words on a computer to being something that is actually going to be completed next week so that I can actually see it in digital format. And then I will be sending it off to a printer for a test run. And I will actually be holding my book at the end of the month, at the end of June.[00:01:00.740] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd the way that it seems like it's going to unfold is that I will be in Massachusetts and Ducksbury Beach, Massachusetts, which is one of my absolute favorite places on this entire Earth. I go there every summer. I spend time with my aunt. My aunt turns 80 this year. My mom turns 70 this year.[00:01:18.020] - Gabriela BrunnerWe will all be together in Ducksbury. And I have actually found a photographer who does beautiful work, who will be documenting me looking at my book for the first time. So for those of you who are married and did like a first look at your wedding, like when you first see each other in your wedding outfits, and that's kind of what it feels like. I'm going to be looking at my book for the first time in one of my favorite places on Earth and one of the places that helped me believe that my book was possible. And so that beautifully segues into how can you start to believe in possibility again?[00:01:52.760] - Gabriela BrunnerWell, one of the things that I have seen to be a complete game changer is to surround yourself with people who also believe in possibility. I don't necessarily mean that you have to go spend money on a coach or anything like that. Although coaching has been amazing for me as an individual and also in my business, I see what people do when they have a coach that is supporting them and loving them and holding them accountable. But what I'm trying to say is that if you are only surrounded by people who can't see possibility, who can't believe in things for themselves, they're not going to believe in things for you. So you're going to start to take their word as gospel because you love them, you appreciate them, you believe in them.[00:02:32.990] - Gabriela BrunnerThey're your mom, your dad, your spouse, your best friend, your coworker, whomever right so you're going to start to think like, oh, I wonder why they think that. Maybe it's a dumb idea. Maybe it's not really something that I can actually do. And the truth is that, yes, maybe it's not, but maybe it is. And what if it is?[00:02:50.730] - Gabriela BrunnerThink about all the creations in this world that started from nothing. Think about all the creations that never came to be because those people didn't believe that they could do it. They didn't think it was possible. And I'm going to tell you something. One of my very first coaches, Meyer Miller from the Toughest Fight, she told me, nobody really cares about what you're doing.[00:03:11.310] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd at first I was like, what? That's not nice, but that's the truth. And here's why. People are living their own lives. People are fighting their own battles.[00:03:20.880] - Gabriela BrunnerPeople are going through all of their own stuff. That is very hard for them to truly, genuinely because they don't want to have the time, space and energy to care that deeply about what you are doing. They're going to be happy for you. They're going to give you hugs. They're going to support you in sharing your post or buying your book or whatever.[00:03:41.680] - Gabriela BrunnerBut at the end of the day, they're not going to be able to figure out your stuff because they're working on figuring out their own. So when you're choosing support, when you're choosing that system that's going to allow you to thrive and build yourself up and help you create not only that foundation, but keep that momentum so that you can actually make your dreams come true. Not because they're necessarily going to bring you a million dollars, not because you're trying to please your parents, but because you want to make it happen for you so that you can look back on your life and say, I did that. I had an idea. I had a dream.[00:04:16.760] - Gabriela BrunnerI got support. I have accountability. I did that because I wanted to do that. I have no idea what's going to happen with my book. I don't know if it's going to sell one copy or 10 million.[00:04:27.060] - Gabriela BrunnerIt could become one of those instant best sellers. And who knows, right? But I didn't do it because of that. I did it because I wanted to enjoy the creative process. I did it because I wanted to maybe in some way test myself and see what it is that I could do.[00:04:41.200] - Gabriela BrunnerCould I take this idea? Could it happen? Could I be patient? Could I support it? Could I do it?[00:04:46.020] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd look, I even surrounded myself just to show you with love and support. This stuff is producing a gorgeous energy around me. It keeps supporting me and keeps helping me believe that it's possible because all of that was possible. Everything you see on there became possible because I believed. So I wanted to share all of this with you guys again and hopefully a better quality video because The Guided Career is my newest creation.[00:05:12.490] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm actually the messenger. This program. Initially, the idea for The Guided Career came to me about three and a half months ago, and I furiously wrote down all of this stuff, all of these notes, everything about it that was coming through. Like literally it was just like coming through. I wrote it all down, and then it sat for three months.[00:05:31.480] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then if you follow me, you notice that a couple of weeks ago, maybe a little bit more. Now, I was in a beautiful high energy state in my Kundalini yoga teacher training. And the wisdom that was coming through, all of the posts, all of the information, I mean, every break that I had from my class, I was just writing something else down, posting something, sharing it. And that's why I'm really so blessed and honored that the energy of The Guided Career chose me to bring it through because it's not me. It's this amazing energy that has a life of its own.[00:06:01.050] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I'm the one who gets to present it to you in this format. So I wanted to share all of that with you because one of the things that we are going to do is help you believe in possibility again. And once you start seeing that one thing is possible, more things are going to be possible. In the last video I gave this example, it was coming to me that was like, if your door is closed, your windows are closed, you're not going to be able to let anything in. And right now it's like getting really warm.[00:06:29.000] - Gabriela BrunnerSo the bugs are kind of everywhere. And so when I leave the door open, all these bugs come in. And I know that sounds like a negative, but the point is that when the door is open, that door of believing and possibility is open, things start to come in. Things start to come in. If those doors are closed, if you can't believe in possibility, possibility is not going to come knocking at your door.[00:06:48.380] - Gabriela BrunnerSo what I'm sharing with you is that when you're surrounded by a group of committed, determined, resilient people who are trying to do the same thing in their own way as you, that breeds possibility, because that's what we're all going to be sharing. We're all going to be talking about it, and we're going to see in each other something that we can't see in ourselves. So take that with you. Take it. For what it's worth, I'm sharing the next information.[00:07:15.830] - Gabriela BrunnerSo you guys feel pressured because I firmly believe that if you're meant to be in this program, you will be the group is going to be intentionally small, somewhere around ten people. It could be 9,11, it could be a little bit, but it's not going to be 20 because of the fact that the type of support that you're going to be receiving. I have capacity and space in my schedule to support about ten or eleven people. That's the number that was given to me. So you say given to me, right?[00:07:42.270] - Gabriela BrunnerMy intuition, my intuition shared with me that that's the energy of this group. Enough people. So we have a variety. We have different ages and brackets and backgrounds and all that kind of stuff. But enough so that it's intimate enough so we can all really get to know each other and enough so that I can support you in the way you deserve and desire to be supported.[00:08:03.870] - Gabriela BrunnerSo right now, five women have enrolled. Five women have officially enrolled. Three are still making decisions. I have one more call scheduled next week with somebody else. And so if you add those numbers up, that's nine, right?[00:08:17.470] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I said just now there's probably like nine to eleven or so people. So again, it's not to pressure you. It's simply that I know psychologically, some people need a little bit of like, oh, crap. Like this is happening. If I'm thinking about it, I really need to reach out.[00:08:30.630] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I'm not going to pressure you to be in the group. I'm not going to pressure you to sign up because that's too much work. We have enough work to do that I don't need to drag people along, and I'm not going to do it. The people who are in this group are genuinely excited to be here. I did not have to convince them.[00:08:47.550] - Gabriela BrunnerI did not have to twist their arm. I did not have to do anything. They felt the energy. They knew this was a place for them. And five of them have said yes.[00:08:55.170] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd so we've got about five spaces left, five or six. And again, some people might be claiming them right now. So if this is feeling really good to you, the best way to decide is to just schedule a call, send me an email, let me know what you're thinking. Let's see if this is good for you. I have another video out there that talks about the payment plan.[00:09:15.280] - Gabriela BrunnerThe program is $444 for eleven weeks. You can pay however you can. So what that means is that you will receive an invoice with the full amount. You make payments over the next eleven or twelve weeks as you can. And the one limitation is to have it paid off by the end of the program, which is August 19.[00:09:33.790] - Gabriela BrunnerSo let me know what's going on. Let me know how you're going to believe in the possibility just a little bit more. And I can't wait to just see what you create, whether it's within a Guided Career, whether it's one on one coaching with me or somebody else, whether it's privately in your own world, because that's how you work best. It's all beautiful, and it's all going to help you make your possibilities into reality. So I hope you guys have an awesome day.[00:10:00.080] - Gabriela BrunnerCheck out the link in the little description for the guided career. Share this with anybody who you think needs to know. And I believe in you. So I hope you believe in yourself too.[00:10:09.300] - Gabriela BrunnerTalk to you soon. Bye.
[00:00:00.250] - Gabriela BrunnerHi, everybody. So I hope you're all doing well. And my name is Gabriela from Gabriela Brunner Coaching and Yoga and all the things, right? So I wanted to hop on live because the last few days have been very charged energetically emotionally, just a lot of things going on in the world.[00:00:20.640] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then even on a more micro level, individually and personally for me and my family. And I've been thinking a lot about just life, right? This year has been goodness, I don't think there's even an appropriate word to express or encompass everything that this year has been for so many people on so many different levels.[00:00:42.060] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd sometimes I start to think to myself, Why is all of this happening? Why is this happening? Maybe you're thinking, Why is this happening to me? Why is this happening to my loved one? Just why? Right?[00:00:55.930] And if you're anything like me, we try to seek answers in the external. So I have a library full of books, personal development books, psychology books, just everything that I can get my hands on to try and help me understand life, right? And my life more specifically.[00:01:16.700] - Gabriela BrunnerBut one of the things I've come to realize is the absolute power of our own internal wisdom, our own internal guidance. And I personally, I don't like to speak for other people, but I personally used to be very strongly connected to my internal wisdom. And I used it to guide my life and my decisions. And then I don't know if it was just life and getting older or having more responsibilities or more things pulling at my time or less energy or whatever it is. I've kind of really gotten away from that.[00:01:55.380] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I tend to be a people pleaser and somebody who really values external validation. I've learned that about myself. And so sometimes it's like I prefer external wisdom or guidance or answers to my own internal wisdom. So I'm not sure if any of you watching this can relate. But sometimes I just feel like it's a lot easier to ask my friend or my husband or whomever or even read it in a book about this or that, instead of really trying to turn inward and really trying to listen to those answers from the inside.[00:02:35.890] - Gabriela BrunnerSo one of the things that I realized that happened with me was that I totally forgot how to listen to my own inner wisdom. And then by totally forgetting how to listen to it, I ended up not being able to trust it because I wasn't sure what I was hearing. I wasn't sure what I was feeling. I wasn't sure what was kind of going on in my own mind and in my own heart. And slowly throughout the years, many, many years, God, the universe, the power is the greater power put people and things in my path.[00:03:05.930] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I picked up the little breadcrumbs, and those things helped me realize basically helped me reconnect to my own internal guidance and wisdom. And I firmly believe that the tool that works the best is the one that works the best for you. So in my case, through a lot of trying, a lot of experiencing, a lot of experimenting, I have figured out there's two main tools that work brilliantly for me. And one is the Akashic records, and two is Kundalini yoga. And for me, it's very important that whatever information or wisdom I get that I can actually ground it into my life.[00:03:42.150] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd by grounding, I mean, like, bring it into the physical. It doesn't help to have some kind of theoretical idea out there that doesn't really function in real life. Right. Because we have to live in real life. So what good is it to have this kind of wisdom that tells you something that just you can't even apply it to your real life?[00:04:01.440] - Gabriela BrunnerSo these two ancient practices or practices or technologies for me, help me connect to my intuition, help me connect to my inner voice, my heart, my inner wisdom, and then apply it into my day to day life. And so, for example, the Akashic records are a beautiful, sacred, ancient wisdom. And essentially think of it as like, all of the life experiences that your soul has ever had. And somebody's up there writing everything down, everything that has ever happened to you in this lifetime, in previous lifetimes. So you have to believe in previous lifetimes, I suppose, in order to resonate with this.[00:04:43.530] - Gabriela BrunnerSo it's all written down. And so learning how to get into your own Akashic records, how to access them, it's almost like stepping into your own private library and learning where on the shelf that information is and how to grab it and how to read it and how to get the answers to the questions that you're looking for. And then sometimes we need to then be able to bring that energy into our physical bodies. And so the practice of Kundalini yoga helps to do just that. Also, on the flip side, Kundalini yoga has helped me connect to myself and to my intuition so that I can trust the information that I'm getting in my records.[00:05:19.220] - Gabriela BrunnerRight. So it can go either way. I would absolutely love to have you join us if this speaks to you, if it resonates with you. As of today, we've got, I think, about half the spots already taken. We're keeping it intentionally small, so there's eight spots available.[00:05:33.550] - Gabriela BrunnerSo there's roughly four spots left. And I'm going to be incorporating Kundalini yoga. Obviously, the training is going to be all about the Akashic records and how to access them and what it means to you and how to use these things in your day-to-day life. But I'm adding the extra bonus, if you want to call it that, of the technology of Kundalini yoga. Also, other yogic practices, if you have questions about that too.[00:05:54.190] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I absolutely would love to have you join us. As I mentioned it's June 6 and June 13 at her creative collective in Mohammed central Illinois and it is live in person, so we will be masking and social distancing and doing all the things to make sure everybody's safe and comfortable. But there's also a beautiful power and magic and being in person, right? So please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, whether you're able to attend this training or not, whether you just have questions about the records or Kundalini yoga or just want to connect and say Hi, I would love to hear from you. I really hope you're having a beautiful day and however you get there, I hope that you trust your own inner wisdom more often than not.[00:06:36.190] - Gabriela BrunnerTalk to you soon.
[00:00:14.290] - Gabriela BrunnerThis is Gabriela from The New Firm. I'm also the founder and creator of The Guided Career, a beautiful eleven week immersion program for people who are seeking to, in short, make a career transition. So there's so much that goes into a career transition, and a lot of it ties back to some of the basic themes that we experience in our lives. I'm not good enough. What if I don't find anything?[00:00:42.320] - Gabriela BrunnerHow am I going to support myself if I don't have this job? It's literally and physically making me sick. But I can't leave because what are people going to think about me? How am I going to explain it to somebody? If they say you quit law, you quit that big law firm to go somewhere else and make half the money.[00:01:02.890] - Gabriela BrunnerWhen they're done that, you're quitting your law practice so that you can become a coach or have your own business or stay home with the kids. Been there too. And being able to just say those things out loud sometimes can be really challenging. It can be and feel very vulnerable. So I wanted to share a story with you guys about something that happened to me which is so interesting.[00:01:28.990] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then it came up again last night when I was speaking to a woman who was interested in the Guided Career. So she was telling me about how she's currently in a temporary job, a temp job, right? So she most likely signed up with a temp agency, and then she gets to go around and do the work when the work is available. We were talking about the fact that that job is actually giving her space to heal because she came from a profession where she felt drained, taxed, literally probably a few weeks short of maybe getting really sick because of the stress, the pressure, internal and external, all of that, right? All the factors that we can identify with when we're in a job or career that we really don't like or that doesn't fit with us.[00:02:20.800] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I remember telling her last night, I was like, oh my gosh, this happened to me too. And I actually fought it too thin because let's read out my bio. At the time, I was a practicing attorney. I held onto my degree. I made it.[00:02:40.860] - Gabriela BrunnerI did it. I paid all this money. I'm going to be a lawyer if it kills me. And it kind of almost did in a way. And I remember leaving a job because I couldn't be there anymore.[00:02:54.490] - Gabriela BrunnerIt just was too much. My kids are coming, so bear with me, please. So I ended up deciding to just quit because that's what I needed to do for myself in order to make myself feel better. I'm talking about temporary jobs. I'm talking about the impact and effect that they can have on us.[00:03:14.190] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm talking about being completely burned out where you currently are, that you literally have to make mental lists or even written out lists saying, get up, take a shower, go to the bathroom step by step because you don't know how to help yourself. Go step by step. And so I remember quitting my job as an attorney and saying, I'm going to work on my business. I'm going to do this full time, thinking that of course, if I quit, then that means that the clients are going to start coming because this is what I meant to do. So I quit.[00:03:47.840] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd of course, it took some time. And when you're used to getting a paycheck every week or every two weeks, then one week can feel like ten years. So I was like I remember saying almost like throwing my hands up in the air and saying, oh my gosh, I need money, I need a job. I need something that can help support me while I grow and build my business and do all of these things. And then I remember receiving a couple of emails from a temp agency saying, hey, we have this position you might be interested in.[00:04:17.040] - Gabriela BrunnerI would say, no, I can't do that. I can't go back to something that's law related. I can't gosh, what are people going to say if I do something temporary? Oh my goodness, all of this kind of stuff. So I was literally here I am, noticed the discrepancy right here.[00:04:30.520] - Gabriela BrunnerI am literally begging for money to come to me, and I'm having email after email offering me these temporary jobs. And so I'm sitting there and I remember talking to my mom about it, and it's almost like she saw the light bulb go off. And it was like, oh my gosh, that's actually the way that the universe is saying, here's an opportunity, here's a breather, here's a chance to get some money so that you don't have to worry about that part of it and to do something with your time, because my kids were in daycare full time at that time and to have an opportunity to just breathe. So what I realized was that 1 minute, sweetheart, I'm almost done, okay? What I realized over time, this is my second baby, or my first, I should say.[00:05:18.690] - Gabriela BrunnerWhat I realized over time of doing this temporary work was that number one, it was a paycheck. Number two, it was somewhat related to my skills, so I could do it right. It was no problem. Number three, it kept me focused and busy enough. Number four, it provided me an income to be able to then continue to do the things that I wanted to do.[00:05:37.690] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd number five, it gave me the space to heal. It gave me an opportunity to take a step back, to reassess where I was, to not worry about whether I was going to lose my job if I couldn't go to work because my kids were sick or because I just couldn't get up that morning because I couldn't face the workload. So I'm not necessarily saying that a temporary job is right for you right now, but if after thoughtful and intentional thinking and planning and letting yourself be guided to the place that you need to be, that could be a beautiful bridge to helping you figure out what is next and to take the pressure off of having that financial burden. Because one of the things that I've noticed is that anything that you focus on is energy going out. So if I'm worried about my career, my boss, my job, my kids, my home, how am I going to pay for my car, am I going to be able to put gas in the car?[00:06:29.720] - Gabriela BrunnerThen I'm not going to be able to have any energy to focus on actually healing and figuring out what that career transition is for me. So think about that, think about that as another possibility or opportunity for you in the event that you feel like you need a break or that you need an opportunity to heal and some space to heal. And I'd love to talk with you more about it. I'd love to see where you're at in your career transition, how I can support you, and how the guided career can be the foundational piece that can help you create that space so that you can heal after a traumatic job experience or traumatic transition experience and give you that leg up so that you can feel invigorated, nurtured and empowered and to move forward. So thanks for bearing with me.[00:07:19.380] - Gabriela BrunnerI wish you a beautiful Tuesday. Please get in touch if you are feeling the call or the nudge to be a part of the this program. It's about half full now and I would just love to be able to connect with you and see where you're at. I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
Gabriela Brunner - 00:00Hey everybody, how are you doing? This is Gabriela Brunner of The New Firm and I wanted to talk to you guys today about money. Gabriela Brunner - 00:24So I'm gonna give a shout out to my dear friend Tyler Fowler and she is the host of an awesome podcast called A Year Ago Today. You can find it on iTunes and I forget what the other podcast channels are or whatever you call them. But anyway, the reason why I'm sharing about the money aspect of the Guided Career is because when I listened to the episode that aired yesterday, where she interviewed me, she did like a short little she did an introduction to Sharon, her reflections and thoughts and all that kind of stuff about our episode and everything that we talked about in the show. And one of the things that she mentioned was that when she was looking at the sales page for the Guided Career, and she got to the bottom and she saw the price point for the program, which is $444 for 11 weeks, she kind of was like oh my god that's incredibly low for everything that Gabriela is offering. She said I would pay that much for one hour of her time. Gabriela Brunner - 01:27And so it struck me because $444 if you've never invested that much in yourself before can feel like a million. Or you might say what like I've paid like $4,000 for a week of coaching. So there must not be that much value because it's only $444. Gabriela Brunner - 01:47So the truth is that I have run the gamut. I have paid that much for programs that have done more for me than programs that I've paid a lot more for, and vice versa. So at the end of the day, it's really all about your perspective and your experience and I also wanted to share something that's really important to me. I am providing probably the most flexible payment plan. I don't decide the payment plan, you decide it. And there's this really cool new feature on PayPal where you can actually create an invoice and you set a start date and you set an end date and then the person who receives the invoice so those people who will be joining me in the Guided Career actually can decide when they pay and how much they pay. So maybe one week you've got a few extra bucks and you can put it towards the program. Maybe another week, you've got $100 that you want to put towards the program. You decide how much you pay over the course of the time that we spend together. Gabriela Brunner - 02:40The one thing that I will ask everybody who participates is that you make sure that you pay it off by the time the program is complete. So if you join like right before the start date, you have a minimum of 11 weeks to pay it off, which is $44 a week which is probably about how much I spend on coffee each week. Gabriela Brunner - 02:59And if you decide to participate in join sooner than that, then you know you might have a few extra weeks in order to pay it off. And the reason why I wanted to do it that way was because while we will be touching upon the subject of money in the Guided Career, because we're all working to receive money so that we can do with the money, those things that we truly want to do with our lives, right. There's some issues of wort, how much value, dollars per hour and all of the things that are associated with money. Gabriela Brunner - 03:30This program is not about healing all of your money stories. It's not about healing your relationship with money. So, the price point was intentionally set based on some formula that I created, which is me, to be perfectly honest. I think I undervalued it in the sense that I really took like the physical number of hours. That I will be quote spending working with you guys which is basically it'd be all the time and divided that by 10 because 10 is the number of people that are calling in and priced it basically like that. Gabriela Brunner - 04:19So if you purchased each physical hour of time with me for 11 weeks, it would cost about 4200 $4,400. But because we have the power of coming together and literally like the power we can share that time together and get the same or equal benefit or more benefit because we actually benefit from the power of community. And it's like offsetting the costs because you know, to pay for one hour of something by yourself usually cost more than paying for an hour or something in a group. And that's also the reason why the group is intentionally small because I work best with people when I can develop a really good relationship with it and if there's 100 people in the room or even 20 people in the group, I may not be able to devote as much one on one time to you because I physically don't have hours available for that. So I wanted to talk a little bit about that because sometimes people can really get turned off by the money piece because they say I don't have it or sometimes it's tied to like I'm not worth it, which is usually underneath the immediate reaction or it's too expensive or Oh, that's not enough. The truth is that it is priced at that point, because we have to come up with a number and I feel that the collective whatever doesn't matter what I think on all of that. I feel that the price point that I reached is appropriate. Gabriela Brunner - 05:23And on top of that, I feel like it's accessible for people if they really want to do it. It's high enough that it's like commitment. It's an investment. And it's low enough that I truly feel like if you want to dig through four quarters in your car, you'll probably come up with at least 20 bucks, which would be like half weeks payment, right? So I'm just throwing ideas out there. But I just wanted to share all of that because I don't want you to be discouraged by the cost. I don't want you to think that you have to pay the 444 like right off the bat or that you even have to make like $100 payments, you know all at once. Unless you want to or so completely flexible totally up to you. Gabriela Brunner - 06:03And if you have any issues around the money and you want to work through some of that with me, I invite you to schedule a call. I'm offering everybody who's interested 30 Minute Calls for free where we can talk about the program we can talk about how you feel about it, we can talk about whether you feel drawn to it or not. and I'm going to help you make that decision and I will never ever, ever pressure you to buy the program just that I have another warm body because that's going to completely break the energy of the group and that's not what I'm going for. Gabriela Brunner - 06:23So if this is right for you, we will know it and if it's not right for you, we will know it So I just wanted to share all of that, and I hope you guys are having a wonderful Friday Friyay. We'll be talking to you soon. Let me know if you have any questions about anything, put the link in there somewhere, and I hope you guys are all doing well.Bye
[00:00:00.370] - Gabriela BrunnerHey, everybody. I hope you guys are doing Super, super well. My kids are napping right now. And so I thought I would take the opportunity to come out here and talk to you guys about making choices. Everything that we do in this life requires making a choice.[00:00:15.870] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I'm going to talk to you guys about a personal thing that I've been experiencing over the last few months. And yesterday, it was confirmed that I would have rosacea. So I have a type of rosacea that is treatable, and it causes this excessive redness and all of these little pimples and what have you. And it's really frustrating because pretty much my entire life, I have freckles, but I've had very smooth and even skin. And so now I'm experiencing this new thing in my life where I don't like the situation that I'm in.[00:00:48.090] - Gabriela BrunnerI don't like the fact that I have these bumps, that I have this rosacea, that I have to actually wake up and change the way that I'm doing things. So I was thinking about this a lot, because yesterday I go to the doctor, and I have this prescription that I need to fill. And I've been trying to be more in tune with my body and more natural as best as I can. So the thought of taking these medications and then having to potentially use this particular medication forever, this internal medication, and then a skin, a topical one, I kind of started to be like, oh, well, this sucks. Well, this sucks.[00:01:18.990] - Gabriela BrunnerWell, why does this have to happen to me? Well, what have I done wrong? I've been trying to do all of these great things. My mind kind of went down the rabbit hole. And then I remember that I have a choice.[00:01:28.370] - Gabriela BrunnerI have a choice. I went to a professional. The professor gave me. First, it was my choice to go to the professional. Second, it was my choice whether to accept this professional diagnosis or not.[00:01:39.690] - Gabriela BrunnerThird, it was my choice to take the prescription and fill it. And fourth, it's my choice whether to use it. So what I'm saying here is that we always have a choice, even though it feels bad. And so one of the symptoms of being faced with a somewhat challenging decision is the fact that you retreat back into being like, I was being just complaining about the fact that I have all of this stuff on my face and not really seeing that there are choices. All of those options require me to change something.[00:02:06.340] - Gabriela BrunnerThey require me to pay attention to what I eat, to what I put on my skin, to putting on sunscreen so that it doesn't flare up, to making follow up appointments and doing all of these things that, quite honestly, I would rather not do right. And then on top of that, so the little caption here says, how can you make a decision when there are so many choices so in that case, the choices were pretty streamlined. They were pretty straightforward. Doctor prescription, use it, don't use it. So then, as I tend to do is I tend to ask people for their opinions because I like to gather information and then figure out what the best choices for me.[00:02:42.300] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I started asking people like, what do they do for Rosacea? And so I've got a couple of suggestions on products. I've got a couple of suggestions on more natural things. I've got some suggestions on changing my diet internally, and then also supplements and other like probiotics and digestive enzymes and things like that. And let me tell you, it can get really overwhelming.[00:03:02.530] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd one of the things that I definitely know, being in the online world, I've been in this world for two and a half, three years or so is that anytime you even think something, Facebook already knows that you're thinking it. And so all of a sudden, all these ads start to appear. Maybe you're thinking about a career transition, and you saw my thing, and now you're seeing all these other people's programs that are coming up, and you just don't even know what to do. And honestly, that is where most of us as a society have fallen short, that we're expecting somebody else to know better what we need than we do. And really, that is one of the founding principles of The Guided Career.[00:03:38.400] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd one of the foundational pieces of all of the work that I have been doing personally on myself is to learn to listen to myself first. And in order to learn to listen to yourself first, you need to clear away some of the junk. You need to understand why it is that you trust somebody else more than you trust yourself. You need to understand where a certain belief comes from. Like, for me, for example, where does this belief that I don't want to take medication come from?[00:04:02.850] - Gabriela BrunnerIs it really because I don't want to take it or because the whole world is moving on this organic, natural, no meds, no big Pharma, all of that kind of stuff. And so it takes some time and a little bit of silence and a little bit of dedication to myself to weed through all of that stuff so that then I can come to the ultimate conclusion, which is I think the medication is fine, and I'm going to take it, and I'm going to see how it works. So that is something that I wanted to share with you guys about choices and the plethora of choices that we have out there. And as you consider whether you would like to be a part of The Guided Career, I invite you to take notice about how you feel. How do you resonate when you watch one of my videos?[00:04:43.820] - Gabriela BrunnerDo you appreciate what I'm saying? Does it trigger you? Does it make you upset you shut it off right away? Do you feel like it would be a good partnership, because that's what it ultimately is. Do you think you feel like it would be a good partnership in order to help fuel you to where you want to go next?[00:05:00.440] - Gabriela BrunnerHow do you feel basically, how do you feel when you read the sales page? How do you feel when you read the words that are on that page? How do you feel about the commitment? And I'm going to tell you right now that there are going to be things that are going to stop you. You're going to say, oh, I can't commit to eleven weeks, oh, I can't commit to one time a week.[00:05:15.740] - Gabriela BrunnerAll the money is too much. And the truth is that all of those are legitimate reasons, but they can also be symptoms of something deeper, of that fear that's saying, no, don't change, no, we like us the way we are, when in truth, you really want to make a change. And so I invite you to explore that. I invite you to schedule a call with me 20, 30 minutes. We can figure out if this is a good fit for you, if it's a good fit for me, if it's a good fit for the program, we can help you make that choice.[00:05:42.010] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I am not going to push you. Trust me. I don't want to support somebody who doesn't want to be there. So I am not going to push you into making an investment just for the money. It's not my thing.[00:05:50.760] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I want to make sure that you understand what the program is. I want to make sure that you know how to make a right choice. And actually simply getting on this call with me, if you are guided to do it, if your intuition tells you to do it, if that little voice inside of you says, I really want to find out, because I want to be without regrets, I want to know you're learning how to trust yourself. So simply by considering this program, you're already creating a foundation for yourself, a foundation upon which this entire program was built, which is learning how to trust yourself. So thank you so much.[00:06:21.810] - Gabriela BrunnerI hope you guys have a great day, and I can't wait to share more with you guys. If you're interested in the program, feel free to click on the website that is in the caption. It's TheNewFirm.Co/the-guided-career we officially are going to start the program on June 3rd, which is a Sunday, and we're going to go eleven weeks. And you'll get all the details that you need to know. So don't worry about when the calls are and all that kind of stuff.[00:06:46.360] - Gabriela BrunnerWe're going to work it out. But just know that the official opening date, opening ceremony, opening of this group is going to be June 3. So you have some time, you have some time to save your pennies. If this is what you're interested in. You have some time to schedule a call with me.[00:06:58.840] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd you have some time to be in silence and listen to yourself. I will be talking to you soon. Take care bye.
[00:00:00.730] - Gabriela BrunnerHey, everybody. How's it going? It's Gabriela Brunner here of The New Firm. So I thought I would take the opportunity to say Hi and to talk a little bit more about the Guided Career, which is my new eleven-week Immersive program. And it's kind of cool because this program actually came was birthed originally as Operation Change Career.[00:00:24.550] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd the energy of that particular group was a lot more about like, okay, I hate my job, let's figure out how to get a new one. And over the last two years, as I've worked with clients in that program, as I've worked with clients one on one, as I have gone through several of my own career transitions, I realized that a big part of what we're doing in this world is trying to figure out exactly what we want to do. It's figuring out what exactly we like doing, figuring out how to listen to ourselves. And that really is the main component of the Guided Career. Because if I am like most of you or if most of you are like me, whatever way you want to put it, what we end up doing is we end up saying, this job sucks, this boss sucks.[00:01:13.550] - Gabriela BrunnerI can't believe that. My colleagues are so terrible. I hate this, I hate this. I hate this about the job. So we spend hours scrolling through all the different online ways.[00:01:24.020] - Gabriela BrunnerMaybe some of you look at newspapers, I don't know, looking for a new job. Just as I was saying, we end up just looking for another job. And we look at a job description and the details say in my personal experiences, immigration attorney, Nebraska. And you're like, great, let's do that. Or you see something that has a lot of the things that you have done in your life or that you may be currently doing at your job, but it may not actually be things that you want to do.[00:01:52.230] - Gabriela BrunnerIt may not be things that make you happy. It may not be things that light you up, but you're still sick and tired of where you are, that you want to jump into that next place and you feel like a checklist like, okay, well, okay, I have this much management experience, I have this particular degree or those credentials. So this must be a great job for me. But at the end of the day, there are a lot of things that we don't take into consideration when we're looking for a job. If you head over to my blog, you're going to see a few articles that I wrote probably one and a half to two years ago.[00:02:23.260] - Gabriela BrunnerThe first one that comes to mind is one that talks about quality or quantity. So just as that blog post was simply that we need to understand how we like to work. And the example that I gave was maybe you're the type of person who loves like super fast-paced, you love meeting a lot of different people. Like, you can keep up and multitask and do all that kind of stuff. Think of like, a job at McDonald's, right?[00:02:45.800] - Gabriela BrunnerSuper high turnover, super high volume. Maybe Starbucks, right? During the peak morning and 03:00 p.m. slump hours. And then you think, great. Like, you look at the job description and you think, fun atmosphere, camaraderie, free coffee or free food, whatever, and you're like, I'm going to apply.[00:03:04.530] - Gabriela BrunnerBut you don't take into consideration the fact that it's an extremely high pace, that you burn out after a lot of interaction with people, that it doesn't make you feel good to not be able to get to know people because you've got to move through them so quickly. And so I think of like, a high-end five-star restaurant where you might sit at a table for two and a half hours and you arguably earn as much in tip as you do at a steak and shake type of place where you're moving through people pretty quickly. And so it's going to take two different types of people to excel and do well in those two different types of jobs. But you see how it's very easy to forget that there are things that we like to do because we haven't thought about them for a long time. So the point of all of that is that if you haven't taken the time to figure out how you work best, what are the personality traits that shine for you, and what types of environments do you like to be in?[00:04:03.640] - Gabriela BrunnerYou're just going to be hopping from one job to another, job to another job to another. And at the end of the day, this is a webinar that I did a little bit ago. It's called "Same Shit, Different Office". And the one constant is you. The constant that is going to move from office to office is always you.[00:04:20.120] - Gabriela BrunnerSo that's why the Guided Career has now taken on this version. Started as Operation Change Career, but now it's called the Guided Career because, at the end of the day, what I have deeply learned and the techniques that I have used in order to get myself to where I want to be, which is really feeling like the best version of myself is I've learned to listen to myself. I've learned to take a step back and say, okay, what is it that you really want to do, Gabriela? And if you stop and think about that question, it's really one of the hardest questions to ask.[00:04:50.020] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I realized that I wasn't able to hold myself accountable for answering that question. And that's one of the main reasons why I myself got support, worked with several coaches, and continue to work with people to figure out what it is that I truly want to do. Because I feel like it changes all the time, too, when you're trying to find a job, one that's at least going to satisfy you most of the time it's really important to learn to listen to yourself and to learn and take a step back and say what is it that you really want? So I truly hope that if you are in a place right now where you're looking to make a job, change a career transition, or trying to figure out your purpose, you've got these amazing dreams and ideas and you simply don't know how to implement them in your life. Take a look at the sales page. I just put it together yesterday.[00:05:31.770] - Gabriela BrunnerI've been sharing a lot of different things on Facebook around it. Go ahead, take a look. Schedule a call with me if you're interested. If you know you want to sign up, just go ahead and send me an email and we'll take care of that too.
[00:00:15.610] - Gabriela BrunnerGood morning, everybody. This is Gabriela of The New Firm. I wanted to pop in live because I had a really interesting awareness this morning and yesterday I was cleaning up my daily Intuitive Reflection, which is a free offering that I have on my website. So if you guys want some daily support, go ahead and check out my website, TheNewFirm.Co. And go to the shop page and you can find that.[00:00:38.720] - Gabriela BrunnerSo if you saw one of my recent posts, I posted a mantra that said, I want to experience my own life or I choose to experience my own life. And I was thinking about that today as I was getting my kids ready, about how often we want to live somebody else's life. We see a celebrity, we see another person, it seems like they've got their shit together. We see that person who goes for five mile runs in the morning and then their kids are dressed impeccably in white all day. And they seem to manage to get everything done easily, right?[00:01:10.280] - Gabriela BrunnerBecause a lot of people get things done, but it's not always done easily or with the appearance of it being easy. And so I was thinking about how experiencing your own life is much like when you live in the city for a long time and then you move away from that city and then you come back to that city and you experience it as a tourist and you start to see all of the things that that city has. They were always right under your nose that you never did while you were living there because it's like you get so comfortable or you think, oh, I'll do it next time, or, I'm too busy. I have all of these other things that I have to pay attention to. So I'm not going to experience that restaurant or that park or that venue or that concert or that whatever it is, right?[00:01:50.120] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I started thinking about that, about what if we became tourists of our own life? What if we became the type of people that so beautifully experience our own lives as if we were a tourist in a new city or a tourist in our own life, right? And as I started to think about that, I was like, wow. Really? The foundation of all of that is trusting your path.[00:02:11.450] - Gabriela BrunnerIt's trusting that you are on this beautiful adventure where you get to decide how you want to show up, how you want to live your life, what the rules are going to be of the game of your own life and play with it and have fun with it. And maybe you don't know what tomorrow brings. Maybe you don't know what next week or next month or next year brings a drop of truth bomb on you. None of us do, right? None of us do.[00:02:36.660] - Gabriela BrunnerMoment by moment is how we actually live. We just think that we can plan for the future when let me tell you, this year has been a prime example for me of how best laid plans it doesn't matter if you've got every detail figured out. Life throws you curveballs, and the name of the game is adjusting, and it's going with the flow and trying to keep your perspective up. And all of that is an element of trusting your own path. Because if you firmly believe that everything that happens on this journey of life is here to teach you something, it's here to show you something.[00:03:10.030] - Gabriela BrunnerIt's here to help you have a rich experience so that you can anchor something else that you need to know. Maybe it's forgiveness. Maybe it's love. Maybe it's understanding. Maybe it's compassion.[00:03:19.690] - Gabriela BrunnerMaybe it's humor. Maybe it's play. Maybe it's excitement. Maybe it's treating your life like a vacation or like an overseas adventure. Whatever it is, each experience is helping you get there.[00:03:33.020] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I just wanted to share that because it just felt, like, so interesting. Like, looking at everything around you with a new perspective. Looking at it as if you were venturing out in a brand new city for the first time. So all of that, and I mentioned the words trust your path a couple of times, and that's actually the name of my brand new 14 week immersion program. And the beautiful thing about these two programs and I say two because I'm offering one in the spring of 2018 and one in the fall of 2018.[00:04:04.560] - Gabriela Brunner14 weeks immersive coaching six beautiful women, sisterhood, basically sisterhood of support. Weekly calls, weekly support calls. Incredible guest speakers, beautiful content aligned with the Firestarter sessions and the Desire maps that facilitate both. And each experience comes with a retreat. So the spring retreat is going to be in gorgeous Carmel by the Sea, California.[00:04:29.790] - Gabriela BrunnerI love Carmel. I actually went there on my honeymoon, and it's such a magical place. And the fall is going to be in Florence, Italy. Choose your adventure. Choose your flavor, choose the level of support and join us.[00:04:43.530] - Gabriela BrunnerGo ahead and check out the link in my bio so that you can put your name on the waitlist because the applications are going to be opening soon. I hope you guys have an awesome day. And I really, really want you guys to look at today as a new adventure venture where you are experiencing your life for the first time, your own life. Forget about everybody else's. Live your life.[00:05:04.960] - Gabriela BrunnerI'll talk to you soon. Bye.
[00:00:13.630] - Gabriela BrunnerHey, everybody. How's it going? Today I am sitting here at the Wildflower Artisan Cafe and Bakery Indicator, Illinois, and they're playing some really fun One Direction music. So I'm sitting here like, I don't think you guys can hear it because I got my headphones on, and I'm also going live on Facebook from my computer, which I finally figured out instead of doing it from my phone. See, here's proof here's.[00:00:39.330] - Gabriela BrunnerMy phone is not online. And the trick seems to be that you use Google Chrome, and then you go on Facebook, and you can actually use your computer to go live. So I think that's how people have been going live on Facebook and Instagram at the same time. So you have your phone free to do that. So I wanted to hop on here today, because yesterday I sent an email to my email list called where's the poop, Robin?[00:01:04.530] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd for those of you who are how I Met Your Mother fans, you may remember that particular episode where I think Robin had just woken up with her boyfriend, and Lily was asking her, like, how's it going, Robin? She's like, oh, everything's fine. No problem. In her mind, she was actually playing out exactly how crappy the situation had been. And so Lily's poop raider would go off, and she would ask the question, where's the poop, Robin?[00:01:29.800] - Gabriela BrunnerWhere's the poop robin? And each time, Robin would reveal, like, another layer of the piece that she was trying to hide from herself and from everybody else. And so it felt important to share that, because so often we hide the poop, right? We don't want to face it. We don't want to acknowledge that it's there.[00:01:50.330] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I think part of that is because we think that it's bad or we think that it's stinky. Yucky. Right. Actually, when we acknowledge it, when we acknowledge the stuff that's underneath that's really aggravating us and bring it to the light, we can actually give ourselves a form of freedom because we're no longer hiding something. We're no longer trying to avoid something.[00:02:14.050] - Gabriela BrunnerSo sometimes it can be really hard to do, and sometimes we think we have acknowledged the proof, just like in that episode of How I Met Your Mother. But then you have somebody who cares about you and who wants to support you and who wants to see you grow, asking you the question it's like Lily was asking, right? Where's the poop problem? Every time that that question got asked, a new layer, a new level was uncovered, and a new thing was brought up to be released. And once you do that, you just feel so much lighter and so much freer, and it's just, who knew that poop would be so important in our lives, right?[00:02:48.610] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I just wanted to share that with all of you guys for a couple of reasons. Number one, because how fun is that? Where's the poop robin? Right? I love how I met your mother.[00:02:56.230] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm really sad that it's not on the air anymore, and also because I wanted to encourage you guys to take a look at the trustee path circle. The waitlist is now open and you can put your name on that waitlist by visiting TheNewFirm.Co Program. And by doing that, you will be the first to find out when the application opens, you will get more details on the program, be the first one to find out as all the details are coming together. And really, it's no obligation. It's just so that you can keep your finger on the pulse, figure out if this is actually going to be something that's going to be really good for you.[00:03:34.340] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then when the applications open up, you can decide if it's the right time for you to apply for the program. The spots will be limited. There will only be six, because I really love supporting people as intimately possible. Six feels like a really good number. And there will be a retreat in the spring and then also a retreat in the fall, so you can browse all those details on my website.[00:03:57.140] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd it's just a really exciting thing, because for me, the deeper I've gone in my work and the deeper that I've gone in showing up for myself and for my clients, I've come to understand that there are so many layers to think. The deeper that I go. One of the things that I have really come to value the most is the support that I have around me, because that has allowed me to grow and expand at levels that I wouldn't have been able to do by myself. Not that I couldn't do it by myself. I can do it by myself.[00:04:27.410] - Gabriela BrunnerIt's just probably would take me longer, and that's fine. Everybody's at their own pace. But if you're ready, if this is calling your name, place your name on the waitlist. You got nothing to lose. And keep asking yourself, what's the proof, Robin?[00:04:39.160] - Gabriela BrunnerBecause you're going to want to know. You're going to want to know to uncover those layers. So thank you so much for joining me on my first Facebook Live from my computer. This is really nice. I'm going to do this more often and I'll be talking to you guys soon.[00:04:50.110] - Gabriela BrunnerBye.
[00:00:14.050] - Gabriela BrunnerHey everybody, how's it going? Gabriela Brunner here with The New Firm and I don't really know what I'm talking to you guys about right now. I am currently sitting in my car. It is really hot today and the reason why I'm sitting in my car at the parking lot of this school is because I kind of can't go home quite yet. So it's kind of funny.[00:00:36.450] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I thought, hey, I'm plugged in, I got the AC going, I've got some sweet carts which are some of my fun travel candy because sorry, I'm shaking so much I'm trying to open the stack with one hand. I'm going to Salt Lake City, Utah tomorrow to meet with my healthy girl family and so it's just really exciting and I thought I'd just hop on, say hi. It's been a really exciting week with the podcast and the launching of the twelve month Sisterhood and Mastermind, and I've updated my website to reflect some more information on the Mastermind so you guys can hop on there and take a look. And I thought it might be kind of fun to just pull Truth Bomb Deck. Those of you who know me or maybe don't or follow me or whatever, I love Danielle Laporte and she's got this amazing Truth Bomb set.[00:01:24.580] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd what it is, it's a deck of cards. So like if you do there she is. If you like Oracle cards or to receive messages or things like that, that's basically what it is. You can pull one, you can ask a question and feel guided to shuffle it and pull a card for yourself. And this message felt very important.[00:01:42.040] - Gabriela BrunnerAbsolutely everything is progress. And I love this card so much because I'm going to prop it on here because so often we beat ourselves up for not being there or for not achieving a certain level of success. I'm surrounded by a lot of coaches because that's what's in my awareness right now. I'm just like when I was a lawyer, I was surrounded by a lot of lawyers and I'm surrounded by a lot of coaches who are creating programs and doing all of these beautiful things and then they have these expectations that they're going to make a million bucks off the first one. I'm exaggerating of course, maybe some do or some don't, but that you're going to sell out your program on the first door and maybe you will and some people have and maybe you won't.[00:02:22.470] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd what if instead of judging yourself and saying, I didn't sign up 50 people this first round, you took it that everything is progress. So signing up three people or one person or even nobody means that now you are getting closer and closer and closer to that thing or creation that will fill up easily and gracefully enjoyfully, or that job that just comes to you out of the blue and you're like, oh my gosh, where did this come from? And that's really because you celebrated that everything is progress every little step of the way. You can't get there without going here. You can't have winter without going through the fall, in the summer, in the spring.[00:03:04.140] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd it really is where I'm living right now. I moved from Minneapolis to central Illinois, and where I'm living right now is a big industrial part of the country. There is a lot of corn and soybeans that are being grown here, including in my front yard and in my backyard of my home. It's kind of like in my face every day in a very good way, that things take time, that they planted seeds. And I've been here since March, so I literally saw the farmers out there planting seeds.[00:03:33.670] - Gabriela BrunnerI saw them, the seeds grow, the things there, and now they're actually just sitting there for a while. They've been sitting there growing to their fullest potential before what I'm assuming the machines and the people are going to come and cut everything down and reap the rewards of their thing. So what if the farmers beat themselves up because the very first day the crop didn't grow as high as they wanted to? Like they need to honor that. Everything is progress.[00:03:54.800] - Gabriela BrunnerIt's progress to plant them, it's progress to water them. It's progress when it rains, progress when it doesn't rain and you find a different way to make it work. So I don't know, it's like calling to share. Part of that is also because I'm waiting to get home. You're probably wondering why I can't just go home.[00:04:11.070] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd it's because my kids are napping right now. They're home with Grandma. And I feel like if I come home right now, it's going to be too much disruption and interruption and I don't want to mess up their afternoon flow. It's kind of funny because I went to Minard today. Menards is like a lows or Home Depot in case they don't have those all over the country.[00:04:28.820] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I don't know, I just kind of walked around and it was funny the things that I picked up. So I picked up a sandblaster because there's this beautiful space in the garage. It was going to become my office. And so my husband and I are working on that. If you have kids, some of you may know Odd Squad, $5 for Odd Squad, the movie.[00:04:49.510] - Gabriela BrunnerI picked it up for my kids as a surprise because now my daughter is expecting surprises from me because every time I come home and from Grandma because I think she's getting used to us buying her things. I bought a pizza because I got to get up really early tomorrow morning and I want it to be dinner to be easy. And I got myself a snack, big old box of sweet darts for could be better than that. So I don't know, kind of hanging out and honestly, I want to take this time too. To reflect upon everything that's going on, like all the creations, all the people that I see that are experiencing so many beautiful things.[00:05:24.900] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I know there's a lot going on in the news, and honestly, forgive me, and this might trigger some of you, but I don't really watch the news. And I do know that in my heart, I'm honoring and sending love where it needs to go. But there's just a lot going on lately. And sometimes it can get so lost in everything that's going on that we forget to celebrate ourselves and celebrate the things that we're doing because we feel like we shouldn't be celebrating when other people are hurting and you can still feel people's hurt and send them love and still honor and respect the things that you've done and the things that you've created and where you are. And I feel like by doing that, we actually expand sort of the ripple effect and almost like send more good energy and love where it needs to go.[00:06:04.960] - Gabriela BrunnerJust saying hi. Probably go home in a little bit. I just want you guys to remember that absolutely everything is progress. Anyway, you guys, I just wanted to say hi. And I just want to wish you a very happy week.[00:06:14.890] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I want to say thank you for everybody who's listening to the podcast so far. Thank you for the compliments, thank you for sharing or listening or just being a part of all of it. And if you feel called Explore the Twelve Month program, please check out the website. I posted it in the notes there so you can look at that as well. And just remember, absolutely everything is progress.[00:06:34.940] - Gabriela BrunnerI will talk to you guys soon. Bye.
[00:00:13.390] - Gabriela BrunnerHow are you today on this fantastic Monday? I am sitting here in my new home. I think it's funny that ice cream right here because ice cream makes everybody happy, right? My babies are down for a nap. Fingers crossed that they stay down for a while.[00:00:33.170] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I really felt inspired to come on and share a little bit about the actual process of how the podcast came to be. One of the things that I've noticed throughout my 37 years on this Earth is that we don't always see anything but the end result. And so then it makes us feel like we should be able to do something or we have to do something or it needs to look a certain way because we never get to see how it actually happened or how long it took somebody. It literally feels like from 1 second to the next, there was no podcast. And then there was or, there was no retreat and then there was or book or whatever, right?[00:01:22.190] - Gabriela BrunnerSo first of all, the very first thing was that of course, the moment that I became aware of podcasts, I thought, wow, I'm going to have a podcast and I'm going to do this and I'm going to do this and it's going to be this, and it's going to happen on a weekly basis and all this kind of stuff. And then I just kind of let it go because I just wasn't ready for it. Probably had other things to do. And then fast forward to when I joined Angels of Intuition, the sisterhood and mastermind in 2016. And one of the women, Tyla, was creating and launching a podcast with one of her best friends, Sally.[00:02:02.150] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I must admit that I got a little podcast envy, right? Because I was like, well, if they can do it, I can do it. And essentially what was happening was I was mimicking what they were doing. So you know how that happens. Like when you see somebody who's having success or you perceive somebody to have success, they do.[00:02:24.220] - Gabriela BrunnerBut when you perceive somebody to have success, it's like you want to have success as well. So you try to do what they're doing. You don't really even know what they're doing, but you just try and do it. So in my mind, I was taking up a lot of space and energy thinking, well, I am going to create a podcast. I'm going to have weekly guests.[00:02:46.860] - Gabriela BrunnerMind you, at the time I was working full time, I was running my business. I have two young kids, really. There wasn't very many hours left over in the day. And so I was putting a lot of pressure on myself and I actually thought about it a lot more than I probably cared to admit. And I beat myself up a lot for it because I thought, well, why can't I do it?[00:03:11.650] - Gabriela BrunnerWhy isn't this coming together like it is for them? And why can't I make something look as good as they're doing? And blah, blah, blah. So with some time and with some support from my sisterhood and my coach and all that stuff, I started to let go of the idea that I had to have a podcast and I would kind of hold on to it, again and again, every now and then. But I kind of started to let go, just in general of my process of learning to let go and let things happen in their own time.[00:03:48.350] - Gabriela BrunnerI started to let go of the idea that I had to have a podcast and it had to look a certain way, that it had to be weekly, that it had to blah, blah, blah.[00:04:00.950] - Gabriela BrunnerOther things started to happen, other things started to fall into place. Like I wanted a specific logo made and the way that that came to be. And then I kind of didn't really use it for anything. And then it turned out several months later that it was the logo for the podcast. Then all of a sudden, I remember getting an idea to invite one person, like the names of people, the people that I wanted to be on the podcast, like, all their names started to pop into my mind.[00:04:29.670] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd so I literally kept a note in my phone and just put down all their names as I came to them. And then it stopped at eight people. And so it was really interesting because I was like, of course there's like a billion people that I'd love to talk to. But it was like a number that felt really good. And so it felt like, okay, can I even pull it off?[00:04:50.510] - Gabriela BrunnerJust being a short-term podcast, right? Just like eight weeks, maybe never being more than that, maybe yes, maybe no. And then I just had to let it be. And I reached out to the first guest and he said yes. And he gave me a lot of really good information.[00:05:10.300] - Gabriela BrunnerHe's like, how are you going to market it? How are you going to do this? How do you blah, blah, blah. So all of them, my wheels are turning. And then I started to understand that again, I was like gripping and trying to hold on to something that I had no control over.[00:05:25.310] - Gabriela BrunnerThen I started scheduling the podcast guests and I thought that I was going to be done, that I was going to do the podcast in June and we'd be ready to launch in July and it would be fantastic. And then nobody was scheduling the first person schedule until the end of June, the very last day of June, actually. And then that first day I had three people scheduled and I get all ready for the first one. I learned how to use the system. My dear friend Sally, who's one of the hostesses of a year ago Today podcast, she walked me through it.[00:06:04.120] - Gabriela BrunnerShe taught me. I had copious notes. I'm like, okay, we're doing this. We're doing this and doing this. And then we get to record.[00:06:10.370] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd the guests could hear me, but I could not hear her. And I was like, what is going on? I have three people scheduled today. This is crazy. And it's amazing because I reached out to Sally and she was like, okay, this is what I'm hearing.[00:06:26.490] - Gabriela BrunnerYou need to have a dance party. You need to reevaluate why you're doing this podcast. And she said, don't reach out to me until you've done those things. So I actually put the music on really loud. Ricky Marting in Maluma put the music on super loud in my ears.[00:06:43.770] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I was dancing in the middle of this private room in the library. And I remember connecting and just asking the question, what is the heart of my podcast? And very clearly, I heard, it's not about you, it's about your guests. It's about showcasing your guests. It's about hearing their story and portraying their story in the best light possible.[00:07:11.190] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then I was guided to take a break, like, go eat, go do something, because I was going to go back to back to back. And then the second episode, who was actually the very first person that I had reached out to. I take that back. So there was one person that had to cancel. So it would have been the first episode had to cancel.[00:07:33.120] - Gabriela BrunnerThen the day that I had three, that person couldn't hear me. And then I get until then, the person who would have been the third interview. So the first one that I reached out to was always meant to be the first episode. And so I feel like that's why that worked out that way. We recorded two episodes that day.[00:07:51.220] - Gabriela BrunnerWe had some technical issues. I remember recording Philly D's episode, and towards the end of it with batteries, and his headphones died, so he couldn't hear me. I could hear him, and he could still record. So I was like, typing the questions by the chat, and then he would respond. And then the amazing sound editor pieced it all together.[00:08:13.350] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd so it was just so funny because amidst Internet issues and with Caitlin Edgar's episode, we had the same thing where I recorded a perfect episode in the morning and then in the afternoon, the Internet would not work. And so I had to reschedule Caitlin. And it was funny because it's like her episode came out so beautifully that I know that it was for a reason, right? And I remember having a conversation with Sally, and a year ago today, podcast has about almost 50 episodes. And she said, you know, out of the 50 episodes, we've had technical issues with maybe one or two of them, maybe three.[00:08:55.080] - Gabriela BrunnerShe said, So I really don't anticipate you having a problem. Well, let me tell you, every single episode I recorded, had a technical issue. And some of them I literally just had to pray that the sound quality would end up right, would end up audible on the other end. I remember recording Morgan Hamilton episode, and then at the end, that one got cut off at one point and we had to start over again or pick up from there, but start a new recording. And then I remember at the end her saying there were times where you were kind of in and out.[00:09:32.700] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I was like, oh my gosh, this episode is so amazing. What's going to happen if they can't hear me or if my voice sounds weird? And I was like, you know, I'm just going to trust that it's going to be good. I'm going to trust that it's going to work out.[00:09:50.710] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd it did. And the reason why I'm sharing all of this is that so often we think that it's just super easy and super seamless and flawless. And one of the episodes, the platform just cut off the last three minutes of it. So my sound editor worked his magic and made it flow so it didn't sound like it just abruptly ended. And the thing, you just got to laugh and you got to go with the flow, and you got to realize that it's all part of the creation process and it's all here to guide us and teach us something.[00:10:25.810] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd when you can do that, it just makes the whole thing that much sweeter. And even up until today, I was stressing out because I wanted to launch it on Friday, which was my mom's birthday, and I had all of this stuff ready, and I didn't have Internet in my home yet. And when I was home with my kids that day anyway, and I was trying to do things on my phone and really stressing myself out, making things more complicated than they needed to be. And then I just not very gracefully tried to let it go, but I still had it on my mind.[00:11:05.270] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then it turns out that I post everything and get it out there and then the link doesn't work for some reason because iTunes had hidden it and I couldn't figure out how to unhide it. And then I was trying to do it on my phone and that didn't work. And I just was stressing about the whole thing. And then last night I was like, I'm just going to go to bed. I'm going to let it go.[00:11:28.920] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then this morning, one of my dear sister friends told me that you can use your phone as a hotspot. And I had no idea that you could do that. And so I did that and was able to unhide the episode on my computer.[00:11:43.670] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then I was like, getting a couple of beautiful souls to test it for me to make sure that it worked. And so you got to take it all in stride, right? But I wanted to share all of that with you guys. Not to intimidate you, not to make you think that you can't have a podcast if that's something that you want or anything else, but to show you that when you hear it all beautifully put together, when you see the beautiful images, when you see the conversation flowing naturally, all of that is part of the creation process. And if you want to make it sound that way, you can.[00:12:22.660] - Gabriela BrunnerYou just have to keep going and get support and surround yourself by people who know what they're doing so that you don't have to unnecessarily stress yourself out with something and you can just focus on what you're creating. You can open up your creativity and focus on what you're creating and then let other people around you help you with the rest of it. For me. That was Sally. For me, that was Josh, the sound editor.[00:12:45.060] - Gabriela BrunnerI almost did not have a sound editor because I thought, I'm not going to spend the money on it, I can do it myself. And then, oh, gosh, deeply celebrating that I hired somebody and that he turned out to be so amazing, and he's the voice of the intro and the outro for me. So it's just so many things. And some of you are curious about the podcast creation process, and please reach out to me if you'd like to know more about that. But I just wanted to talk to you guys about the process in general and kind of what I experienced over the last two months to really get this going and really more over the last year because it was kind of like a seed and then it started to drop and then to bloom, and then it became what it is now.[00:13:29.470] - Gabriela BrunnerSo thank you so much, you guys. Thank you for watching. Thank you for listening to the podcast. If you choose to, if you like it. Apparently it's a good thing to have a lot of five-star ratings, so I appreciate those if you really like it.[00:13:46.060] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd yes, hope you guys have a beautiful day. I'll talk to you guys soon. Bye.
[00:00:12.970] - Gabriela BrunnerHey everybody, I am sitting in my car because I could probably fly home right now.[00:00:20.550] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm so excited. And it's a beautiful kind of excitement. Because it's been is easeful. Of course, it's happening more, please, seriously, this is my life kind of excitement. So it isn't like I could scale the wall like Spiderman kind of thing. It's just this beautiful knowing that things. Are unfolding exactly how they should. I met this beautiful soul.[00:00:44.520] - Gabriela BrunnerHer name is Sarah. And in talking with her and hearing.[00:00:47.850] - Gabriela BrunnerAbout her story, so many things about what she said resonated so deeply with me and are so applicable to the.[00:00:55.710] - Gabriela BrunnerMe of eight or nine years ago.[00:00:57.960] - Gabriela BrunnerWho was struggling in the profession of law? And for those of you who caught my blog post here recently about the dear attorney and ways that you can take control of the way you're feeling.[00:01:15.210] - Gabriela BrunnerEven when you can't change what's around you, even when you can't change the profession. Right.[00:01:21.110] - Gabriela BrunnerOkay, I'm going to gather my thoughts.[00:01:22.670] - Gabriela BrunnerBecause this is the funny thing.[00:01:23.850] - Gabriela BrunnerSo Sarah and I were talking and She was sharing with me her story. And she's been through so many things in her life, some really fantastic and some really devastating. And when she shared the story, she had the benefit of looking backward, right? So she's like, oh, now I see why that worked out. And now I see why that worked out. Now I see why that happened.[00:01:44.230] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd one of the things that really. Struck me about what she said in her story was the fact that for a very long time she avoided, and resisted. Avoided. Absolutely not. Why does this opportunity keep coming up for me? And I don't want it. I don't want it. And eventually, it came to her in a different time of her life, in a time where she was more open and more aligned and more receptive to seeing where it went, instead of being like, no, I don't want to do this. And the reason why that resonated so deeply with me was because of the fact that I avoided the law. Like, every time that I tried to quit, immigration law kept coming back for me. And I thought in so many ways that that meant that that's exactly what I needed to do. Right. That the physical job per se of immigration law kept appearing out of the blue. And what I've realized is that when we resist something and when we say no, no, what's happening is that we are setting ourselves up for the right time and the right place and the right feeling and the right everything to come together the sense of appreciation.[00:03:01.270] - Gabriela BrunnerSo no, I'm not going back to immigration law. Sorry to burst any bubbles, but anybody knew that that's not happening. But what is happening is I am being shown how my gifts are going to be applied in the world and why I went to law school and why I became a lawyer. So all those years that I said, no, I'm not doing this was because I needed the time and the patience and the guidance and the support to refine my idea. So here's the thing. So often we come up with an idea. Let's just say go to law school and we do all the things we're supposed to do and all the things we're told and follow the formula. Yet something always feels off, right? And then you quit or you get a new job thinking that's going to change things. But remember the one constant to you. So you're the one who you take with you, whether you move to a different city, a new law firm, a new environment, whatever it is, right? Same. More opportunities come up, the same opportunities you're trying to escape. And they keep showing up to you in slightly different shades of Gray, slightly different variations, slightly different flavors.[00:04:02.830] - Gabriela BrunnerSo what's happening is it's being refined? The idea is being refined. So maybe you started out let's just use me as an example because I know that very well as a corporate lawyer, a business litigation attorney, next thing, it's an immigration attorney. Next thing, it's in a nonprofit. So, see how each time the roles are getting while they're still the same category, ice cream, the flavors are getting changed and the flavors are getting refined. And then eventually it became coaching. And then who am I coaching and how am I coaching them? And then it's becoming clear and clear that all of those steps, all of those pieces are kept showing up for me to continue to refine what I'm doing, who I'm serving, how I work with the people I'm serving, and all of that stuff. So it's so fascinating because the same thing happened to Sarah, and she put it in words. She put two words to how I was feeling, which for so long, she was avoiding the very thing that her soul was calling her to do. And the reason why she was avoiding was that resistance was becoming part of the puzzle.[00:05:10.400] - Gabriela BrunnerResistance was becoming a timing factor. So don't give up. If you're in a profession that feels hard for you right now and you don't know why read my blog post. I'm going to put it under here again so you guys can see it because there are a lot of tools that.[00:05:24.600] - Gabriela BrunnerYou can use to help you feel.[00:05:25.710] - Gabriela BrunnerBetter about where you are, to help you feel more peaceful about where you are so you can put yourself back together so you have the strength and the courage to be able to then take those steps in order to keep refining what you're meant to do in this world. And each time you refine, you also shed. So, for example, after all those years of doing immigration law, then I quit and I started doing contract work. And I'm like, I'm never going back to immigration law again. But there must have been something in my pipe, in my DNA, in my heart, and something that still needed to cleanse that last little piece so that I could walk away from it, knowing that I wasn't going to do that anymore. And that came by way of having a temporary job. And then the universe was like, guess what, now you're moving to a different state so you can't have this job anymore. And so having that experience allowed me to understand what I wanted to take with me and what I was leaving behind. So bless each one of your experiences, bless the things that are causing you stress and gas and anxiety and nausea because not only are you setting yourself up for the next refinement, the next level, but you are also shedding and cleansing yourself of the things that no longer serve you.[00:06:39.440] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I just had to share that.[00:06:41.310] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm in Bloomington right now, just went to the bank and I think I'm going to get some coffee and pick up a dish drainer because we just moved into our new house. So, yeah, I hope you guys are having an awesome day and I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
[00:00:12.490] - Gabriela BrunnerHi friends, how are you today? So I am coming to you guys.[00:00:16.880] - Gabriela BrunnerLive because I was having a conversation with one of my beautiful mastermind sisters.[00:00:23.030] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I had this really cool awareness and I wanted to share it with.[00:00:28.780] - Gabriela BrunnerYou guys in the moment.[00:00:29.670] - Gabriela BrunnerLike I literally got off Marco Polo.[00:00:31.650] - Gabriela BrunnerWith her 2 seconds ago and hopped onto my phone so that I could.[00:00:35.440] - Gabriela BrunnerShare this with you guys.[00:00:36.540] - Gabriela BrunnerBecause we're talking about giving and receiving support and we were talking about how in our various situations we have had to learn how to receive support, specifically from our spouses who are the major income earners in our family. So as I was talking to her about this or talking to Marco Polo.[00:00:58.490] - Gabriela BrunnerWhich she'll receive the message when she gets it right.[00:01:01.340] - Gabriela BrunnerBut as I was talking about this.[00:01:04.110] - Gabriela BrunnerI was acknowledging her for really opening up to receive support financially from a spouse.[00:01:12.200] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd a lot of us women. Sometimes I feel like the pendulum has shifts in one direction and then another.[00:01:19.170] - Gabriela BrunnerSo what I'm talking about is there was a time when women were more apt to be expected to be supported by their spouses.[00:01:28.740] - Gabriela BrunnerThen there was a big shift in.[00:01:30.630] - Gabriela BrunnerWomen in the workforce and being independent.[00:01:33.090] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd self sufficient and all of that kind of stuff.[00:01:35.560] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd now I feel like and I've.[00:01:37.970] - Gabriela BrunnerHeard this from people before, that sort of our generation.[00:01:40.880] - Gabriela BrunnerI don't know what Gen X-Y-Z whatever.[00:01:44.500] - Gabriela BrunnerI am 37, so whatever that is.[00:01:47.180] - Gabriela BrunnerWe kind of straddle both worlds where.[00:01:51.770] - Gabriela BrunnerSome of us want to be wives and mothers, some of us want to be CEOs, some of us want to be both.[00:01:56.800] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd how we allow ourselves to move in the area of support has been a tricky one, at least for me.[00:02:02.880] - Gabriela BrunnerIt has been a tricky one for.[00:02:04.110] - Gabriela BrunnerSome of the women who are around.[00:02:05.190] - Gabriela BrunnerMy age, give or take a few.[00:02:07.060] - Gabriela BrunnerYears and how they are open to receiving that support. So there was a time, like I said, when nobody questioned a spouse, usually a husband supporting his wife financially.[00:02:17.280] - Gabriela BrunnerShe didn't have to work.[00:02:19.490] - Gabriela BrunnerUsually her role involves taking care of the children. Sometimes there was support in taking care of the children.[00:02:25.210] - Gabriela BrunnerSo her role was more being in.[00:02:28.860] - Gabriela BrunnerSociety or doing whatever she needed to.[00:02:30.480] - Gabriela BrunnerDo to support her husband.[00:02:32.750] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then there was a shift of.[00:02:34.300] - Gabriela BrunnerWomen wanting to be independent and women.[00:02:36.970] - Gabriela BrunnerWanting to earn their own money and.[00:02:39.520] - Gabriela BrunnerNot have to rely on anybody.[00:02:41.110] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd lately when we're in a situation.[00:02:44.320] - Gabriela BrunnerWhere we could work and for whatever reason, we're not working, that's raising children, doing anything else, trying to start a business, starting a business, doing all these kinds of things where we're not working.[00:03:00.180] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd allowing other people to support us.[00:03:02.250] - Gabriela BrunnerIn that time period.[00:03:04.090] - Gabriela BrunnerRight.[00:03:05.030] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd so we were talking about that.[00:03:06.930] - Gabriela BrunnerKind of support and opening up to that and then also talking about how.[00:03:11.820] - Gabriela BrunnerEven when you don't earn money, like in a job.[00:03:15.030] - Gabriela BrunnerSo let's just take my situation right now.[00:03:17.440] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm building my business, working on my.[00:03:19.420] - Gabriela BrunnerBusiness, working, staying at home with the kids. I don't receive financial compensation for watching my children.[00:03:26.110] - Gabriela BrunnerMy husband goes to work every day.[00:03:27.740] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd at the end of the week, he gets paid.[00:03:29.900] - Gabriela BrunnerSo in allowing myself to allow him.[00:03:33.860] - Gabriela BrunnerTo support me and our family financially, I went through a lot of growing.[00:03:39.150] - Gabriela BrunnerPains because I'm one of those women who want to be contributing financially to the same level that he is and.[00:03:46.440] - Gabriela BrunnerAll of that kind of stuff.[00:03:47.650] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then I started to realize as I was talking to my friend, that we provide support.[00:03:53.260] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I mean me, I mean you.[00:03:54.880] - Gabriela BrunnerI mean anybody who provides support for which they are not paid for in.[00:03:59.310] - Gabriela BrunnerMoney, we provide support in a lot of different ways.[00:04:02.630] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd when we provide support to people.[00:04:05.820] - Gabriela BrunnerBy throwing them a baby shower, by.[00:04:09.290] - Gabriela BrunnerProviding free services, by watching their kids.[00:04:13.590] - Gabriela BrunnerFor an afternoon so they can have.[00:04:15.000] - Gabriela BrunnerA break and we don't expect or.[00:04:18.020] - Gabriela BrunnerAsk for any money in return, that.[00:04:20.650] - Gabriela BrunnerService is actually a much bigger gift.[00:04:25.070] - Gabriela BrunnerThan the equal exchange of service for money. And here's why. Time is a commodity that we can.[00:04:33.640] - Gabriela BrunnerNever get back money. You can always earn more money. Right?[00:04:36.850] - Gabriela BrunnerSo somebody is choosing to give you their time.[00:04:39.550] - Gabriela BrunnerLet's take a free resource that you see online.[00:04:42.180] - Gabriela BrunnerA lot of times we're like, oh.[00:04:43.420] - Gabriela BrunnerI don't even want to pay attention.[00:04:44.480] - Gabriela BrunnerTo that because it's free.[00:04:45.500] - Gabriela BrunnerWhy are they giving it away for free? If it's any good, they would charge for it.[00:04:49.650] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd here's the thing.[00:04:51.080] - Gabriela BrunnerThe person let's just say me, just.[00:04:53.800] - Gabriela BrunnerTo give an example, had an idea.[00:04:56.170] - Gabriela BrunnerActed upon it, created something, spent time, probably some money in creating this, and is choosing to give it to you.[00:05:04.180] - Gabriela BrunnerAs a gift without a barrier, without.[00:05:07.120] - Gabriela BrunnerSaying you can only have access to.[00:05:09.150] - Gabriela BrunnerThis if you pay me for it.[00:05:12.330] - Gabriela BrunnerInstead, they're saying, I want to share.[00:05:14.120] - Gabriela BrunnerThis with you, that I am removing every single barrier to you receiving it. I want to throw you a baby shower so much.[00:05:21.330] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I think it's such a valuable.[00:05:22.700] - Gabriela BrunnerUse of my time.[00:05:23.430] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I think it will be such.[00:05:24.450] - Gabriela BrunnerA beautiful way to support you that.[00:05:26.080] - Gabriela BrunnerI am removing any barrier to you having that support that you desire.[00:05:31.710] - Gabriela BrunnerSo as I thought about that today.[00:05:33.360] - Gabriela BrunnerI was like, wow, when you choose to give something for free, be discerning.[00:05:39.360] - Gabriela BrunnerBecause it's a beautiful labor of love.[00:05:41.950] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd the person who receives it, I.[00:05:44.800] - Gabriela BrunnerHope that they see that that just because it doesn't have a price tag attached to it doesn't make it any less valuable.[00:05:51.950] - Gabriela BrunnerEspecially when you create from your heart.[00:05:53.770] - Gabriela BrunnerEspecially when you create from your soul.[00:05:56.580] - Gabriela BrunnerEspecially when you decide, I have these.[00:05:59.780] - Gabriela Brunner24 hours in my day, and I'm choosing to give you eight of those today. And I'm not asking you for any compensation.[00:06:08.880] - Gabriela BrunnerSee how it's different when you go.[00:06:10.260] - Gabriela BrunnerTo a job you're choosing to give.[00:06:12.520] - Gabriela BrunnerThem time and they're choosing to give.[00:06:14.200] - Gabriela BrunnerYou money for your time.[00:06:15.720] - Gabriela BrunnerSo that felt really interesting and I'd love to know what you guys think.[00:06:21.390] - Gabriela BrunnerAbout that because so often we feel that if something is free, it's cheap or it wasn't intentional or wasn't thought.[00:06:29.710] - Gabriela BrunnerOut and maybe sometimes it is, maybe.[00:06:32.110] - Gabriela BrunnerSometimes it is, but when somebody comes.[00:06:34.710] - Gabriela BrunnerWith the intention of giving you something with no barriers free and they come.[00:06:41.430] - Gabriela BrunnerAt it with love and they come.[00:06:43.110] - Gabriela BrunnerAt it with a true desire to share that creation without a barrier, without asking for money, that is a gift.[00:06:52.510] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I do hope that the next.[00:06:54.030] - Gabriela BrunnerTime somebody gives you something for free.[00:06:56.410] - Gabriela BrunnerIf you feel that in your heart.[00:06:57.740] - Gabriela BrunnerThat it came from the most beautiful.[00:06:59.320] - Gabriela BrunnerPlace that you will really say thank.[00:07:01.590] - Gabriela BrunnerYou because person put a lot of time and energy into creating that for.[00:07:06.690] - Gabriela BrunnerYou and into the decision to give it to you for free without a barrier.[00:07:11.360] - Gabriela BrunnerSo that's what I have to share with you guys today.[00:07:14.060] - Gabriela BrunnerI hope you're having an awesome day. I also wanted to share that the.[00:07:18.210] - Gabriela BrunnerPodcast is shaping up so beautifully And.[00:07:20.620] - Gabriela BrunnerI'm so excited to share that with you guys soon.[00:07:23.350] - Gabriela BrunnerEach guest is so amazing and it's going to be such a gift to.[00:07:26.560] - Gabriela BrunnerMe to listen to that and it actually ties in so beautifully Because you know what?[00:07:31.180] - Gabriela BrunnerPodcasts are free and when somebody creates.[00:07:35.100] - Gabriela BrunnerA podcast, when somebody takes the time.[00:07:37.090] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd effort and energy to think of.[00:07:39.510] - Gabriela BrunnerGuests to contact them, to schedule them.[00:07:41.940] - Gabriela BrunnerTo put up with technology glitches like I had today.[00:07:44.710] - Gabriela BrunnerSo thank you for creating images, for doing all of this as a labor of love So that you can receive.[00:07:51.320] - Gabriela BrunnerThe gift of this wisdom and these.[00:07:53.130] - Gabriela BrunnerExperiences and these stories so exciting.[00:07:56.970] - Gabriela BrunnerSo next time somebody gives you something.[00:07:58.690] - Gabriela BrunnerFor free I really want you to.[00:08:00.820] - Gabriela BrunnerHonor that and cherish it as if.[00:08:02.800] - Gabriela BrunnerYou just paid a million dollars for it.[00:08:06.050] - Gabriela BrunnerI hope you're having a great day.[00:08:07.360] - Gabriela BrunnerI'll talk to you guys soon. You.
[00:00:13.270] - Gabriela BrunnerI haven't done a live on my business page in a long time. So this is really exciting. I was inspired to hop on here right now because I was actually filling out my pre-session form for my coaching session tomorrow with my mentor Caitlin Edgar. And it felt important to share that.[00:00:34.000] - Gabriela BrunnerBecause I think a lot of times we think that people who are coaches don't have coaches themselves. And I think that's probably one of the farthest from the truth statements that I have heard. The best coaches have the best coaches. And trust me, my coaches are the best, let me tell you. Anyway, I digress. So the little caption that I put on here is there is a different way.[00:01:02.430] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I was thinking about that today. Because of some events that have transpired this week and transpired over the last few weeks, basically. And so often we can get caught up in what other people are doing. What I'm doing, what you're doing, what my mentor Caitlin is doing, what her mentors are doing, what your boss is doing, what your parents are doing, what your spouse is doing. And sometimes we find ourselves mimicking them doing what they're doing in order to either people please or request love or feel if I do it, how they're doing it, then they're going to say, Oh, look at you, good for you. And pat you on the head or pat you on the back, or you think that they might love you more. Really, what I've come to understand very deeply is that the root cause of most things is a cry for love, right? And so when we see all of these people around us, when we see all of these people succeeding, living the life of a, quote, our dreams. Right. We think it's the life of our dreams because they're off jet setting or galvan thing or saving the world or living in a tree or doing whatever we think that we need to do that, too.[00:02:13.560] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd we actually beat ourselves up when we don't do it. And through this experience that I've been having, the details are not important. What was really coming through for me is that there is a different way. And by different way, I mean different than who you're trying to emulate, emulate yourself. It's so easy, and I'm guilty of it. I'll be the first one to admit that I have gone through a lot of experiences where I have copied, mimicked done as others have done.[00:02:45.160] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd truth be told, in the big picture, it's all beautiful because every time I do that, I deepen more into who I am and what I do, how I do things. Because one of the biggest things that we get from having experiences is it. Either deepens us into the yes, this is how I want to do things, or it provides us such an opposite, such an extreme, such a contrast that we say, oh, absolutely. Not. For example, there was a time in my life where I wanted more than anything to have this jet setter lifestyle. I just wanted to travel all the time.[00:03:21.140] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd sometimes I get caught up in that sometimes I think, oh, wouldn't it be great to be one of those people who like it hotel to hotel and traveling the world? And when I allow myself to experience that, even if it's in my own mind, so not even like I'm traveling or anything, even if it's just in my own mind, I just close my eyes and I deeply experience that I start to feel things in my body, and I start to understand that that's not really for me. And so what I've come to learn is that when you see those people and you start having that envy and you start trying to live their lives, you can take a deep breath and say, what is it about their experiences that they're currently living or that they're currently portraying that you're desiring?[00:03:59.890] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd so I haven't thought about the traveling thing it was just an example that came up. But when I think about people, let's just say who have their own successful businesses, whatever successful means, right? People saying they're making six figures and people saying that they have 1000 clients or whatever the situation is, a lot of times I start to tense up.[00:04:18.780] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd I start to feel like, Oh, I want that, or like I need that, or Why isn't that me? Why can't I do that? And then I actually take a real deep breath, and it's because my way of doing things is a different way of doing things. And where I am in my life, what I have is exactly what I desire. And a lot of times we want something, but it's not the right time in our life. And that's another lesson, right?[00:04:45.790] - Gabriela BrunnerLearning to trust and deepen into that trust. So when we think about a different way, when we think about our way we bless those experiences around us. We bless those people around us that are showing us what our way actually is. And the more that you trust yourself and the more that you love yourself and the more that you hold yourself with such deep compassion, the more that you start to see that your way is exactly the way that the people around you need to.[00:05:13.630] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I was at my buddy yoga class last night here in Decatur, and Adrian read the most beautiful poem. I don't remember the whole thing, but the gist of it is that the more that you are you, the more that you honor this quote different way, meaning your way. The more that you show up in the world and serve in that capacity, the more you become you. And somebody out there needs you exactly as you are. And when you start to force yourself to be something else, that's really when you don't show up in your best self when you maybe turn clients away or turn them off or people or jobs or opportunities because you're trying to be something that you're not. And even if you get your foot in the door, which, trust me, I have been a very good interviewer. I have gotten many jobs in my lifetime. I can be very good at saying what needs to be said.[00:06:05.240] - Gabriela BrunnerI believe it's always from the truth. But you can spend things a certain way to make them sound a little better, I guess, as long as you're always saying with integrity, which I always have. But the more that you stray from who you are and what you truly desire, the more that that's going to come up as time goes on. So to give you an example, say, you get a job that you're just like, oh, I want it for just the money or for the wrong reasons. I'm not going to demonize money, but that's usually the first thing that comes to mind.[00:06:33.600] - Gabriela BrunnerAnd then you get into that job. And there was always something that felt uneasy about it. There was always something that was kind of like maybe that's not quite it. Maybe it's not what you want. Maybe you let fear take over instead of holding on to the next opportunity. Those things are going to come up in your job. Those things are going to come up in your business. And so when they do just invite the opportunity to see them, to see. What lesson they're teaching you, to gain some wisdom from it, to get a little bit stronger so that next time maybe you can hold off another couple of hours. This actually happened to me when I was leaving a big firm several years ago. I was exploring jobs in career services in law school. And I actually had two very viable opportunities. And then, I applied for an immigration attorney position because I thought I was scared. I thought I need to go stay in immigration or I need to stay in the law.[00:07:25.020] - Gabriela BrunnerWhat if I use my degree? I got this degree for no reason. And blah, blah, blah. I had a lot of fear-based thoughts in my mind. And really it was kind of interesting. Because I accepted the immigration position. And literally, hours later I got offered the career services job, which is actually at the time and throughout many years, something that I thought I really wanted. And as you can see, I've actually modeled my business around a career services type of energy in my own way, of course.[00:07:51.560] - Gabriela BrunnerSo I trust that all of this is making sense because it's really just kind of coming through around this idea of doing things a different way. And that different way is your way. And each time your way might be a different way too just because you've always done things a certain way doesn't mean you have to continue to do them a certain way so that's what I had to share with you. I'm playing around with being here on this page a little bit more and inviting more people to come into this space and to share some wisdom and so I hope to see more of you on here and at any time if you want to drop me a line if you want to explore any opportunities my website is www.TheNewFirm.Co I am currently opening myself up to work with two to four new one-on-one clients where there's so much going on I just invite you to reach out the best way honestly the best way to know if I can help you is if we have a conversation so go to my website send me an email Gabriella@TheNewFirm.Co and let's just have a conversation let's just see what possibility looks like for you. Let's just see what a different way looks like for you.[00:09:00.130] - Gabriela BrunnerThat's it I think for me I'm so excited because tonight I get to be a guest teacher in one of my dear friend's programs and I'm so excited about that. So her name is Ashley Hogan check her outguess of the goddess a little shout out for Ashley so thank you all for allowing me to be here just thank you I'll talk to you guys soon. Bye.
