Jamie Miller, communication expert and strategist, joins me to break down what it really takes to create meaningful, trust-driven conversations that convert.
Jamie and I go deep into the art of conscious communication and why most loan officers lose opportunities, not because of rates, but because of how they communicate value. We unpack the psychology behind common client questions, how overthinking disrupts authentic connection, and why small shifts in language can completely transform your outcomes. This is not about scripts. It is about awareness, intention, and precision in how you show up.

In this episode of the Loan Officer Team Training Podcast, I sit down with someone who has consistently stayed ahead of the curve while keeping relationships at the center of the business. Scott Hudspeth, long time industry leader, founder of MLO Live, and champion of authentic marketing, joins me for a candid and tactical conversation about what actually drives sustainable success in mortgage.
Scott and I unpack the evolution of MLO Live and how technology, especially AI, is reshaping the way loan officers market and communicate. But more importantly, we dig into what has not changed. Relationships still outperform transactions. Consistent communication still wins. And showing up on video still builds trust faster than almost anything else.
We talk openly about overcoming fear in cold calling, managing self-talk in high-pressure sales environments, and why most loan officers overcomplicate outreach when simple connection is often the most powerful strategy. Scott also shares the heart behind the Growth Rooms initiative and his commitment to helping new loan officers and agents build confidence, clarity, and community.
This episode is for loan officers and team leaders who want to stop chasing tactics and start building long-term relevance. Expect practical marketing strategies, mindset shifts that create resilience, and clear direction on how to stay visible, human, and valuable in a rapidly evolving industry.

Lauren Lucas, a high-achieving real estate agent and practical AI expert, joins the conversation to share a journey that moves from early adversity to being recognized as Rookie of the Year, and then on to leading with purpose and technology.
Lauren and I explore how lived experience fuels her passion for helping others, how mentorship and community have shaped her trajectory, and how a practical approach to AI can free up time and create better client outcomes. We talk about building a real estate team that scales with heart, using AI as a productivity multiplier rather than a buzzword, and embracing failure as a necessary step toward iteration and growth.
This episode is for loan officers, team leaders, and real estate professionals who want tactical thinking and mindset clarity. Expect actionable ideas on integrating AI into daily workflows, practical ways to create supportive communities, and honest reflections on the work it takes to reinvent yourself and lift others along the way.

We also spotlight the energy and momentum coming out of the Fuse event, along with the transformative impact of the Women's Mortgage Network. Julie brings a refreshing take on collaboration, mentorship, and the power of bridging generational perspectives to elevate the entire industry.

In this episode, I had the absolute pleasure of talking with Dr. Shad Helmstetter about the powerful role self-talk plays in both personal development and parenting.

I am passionate about successful self talk and every class I teach has it. Every person I coach learns about it because it is so impactful when we use the language of success.
This week I checked off a bucket list item. I had my long time mentor in Self Talk, Dr. Shad Helmstetter, from the Self Talk Institute as a guest. His book, "What to Say When You Talk to Yourself." changed the trajectory of my life and the life of my family. I cannot wait to share him and his message with you.
It's great when you meet someone who is exactly who you thought they would be. Dr. Shad is one of the most affirming men I have ever had the honor to meet. The conversation off the mic after the recording made my year. No matter who you are, you need to hear that you have value and really matter. It couldn't have come at a better time for me.
It was a lesson once again in going for what you want and believing it can happen. Don't hold back. Go for it! Good things will happen.

âIf you own a business. You have to talk about your business.â
Joel Sharpton was referred to me as THE expert to help me launch my podcast and Iâve found that to be perfectly true. Joel joins me in this episode to discuss my own podcast launch and experiences, as well as how ANY business owner and especially Mortgage Officers should recognize themselves as content creators in todayâs market.
Our discussion starts with Joelâs background and love for the podcast medium, we talk about specific ideas for any Loan Officer or team to launch their own show, and we end up talking about roads not travelled in each of our careers.

âYou think having an assistant is expensive, but NOT having one is whatâs costing you!â
Carl White HAD to be my first guest on The Loan Team Training podcast. He and I are GREAT friends and heâs been a wonderful mentor to me in my career, including the very importance of the team you build for yourself, and who you spend time with even when youâre off the clock. In this episode, I replay my very first interview with a little context of my introduction to Carl.
Our discussion starts with Loan Officers biggest mistake when they hire a team. Bringing in a new person & then leaving them alone! âHereâs your desk, hereâs your stuff, get started.â
Along the way, we talk about surviving a down market by âputting more ore on the beltâ and end with hard earned lessons and the bruises they sometimes leave.

âThe brain believes the programs it has that are strongest, it doesnât make any difference whether theyâre true or not.â
Go for it! Good things will happen.

âYou think having an assistant is expensive, but NOT having one is whatâs costing you!â
Carl White HAD to be my first guest on The Loan Team Training podcast. He and I are GREAT friends and heâs been a wonderful mentor to me in my career, including the very importance of the team you build for yourself, and who you spend time with even when youâre off the clock.
