We have been conditioned to believe that love is supposed to be painful and the longer we suffer, the more value the relationship has. I want to help you change that narrative. Relationships can be joyful and inspiring, we just need to adopt the skills necessary to experience it. This episode is talks about how we can have a happier love and life story.

The only way to get relationship experience is to be in a relationship. Every relationship gives you a great deal of feedback regarding personal desires, boundaries and standards, so each relationship you engage offers value to all involved, if you approach it from that perspective.

We focus on the ending or we keep score of what is going wrong, instead of allowing it to teach us more about who we want to be, what we want to draw from others and how well we can collaborate with those we love.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. Give yourself ease. You are learning and growing. Let the experience provide you with information and empower yourself to move towards what you desire.

Curiosity deepens connection and creates a space for interest instead of judgement. When two people come together in a relationship, they are creating more than a union, they are creating a dynamic in which they can thrive and be vulnerable in. When we maintain curiosity in our relationships we are more mindful of what we are drawing from each other with every engagement.

In this episode we discuss what those things are and how some of us still struggle even though we "know" better than our parents did. Most often it is our mindset and habit of thinking we get stuck in. Hopefully this episode will help you move through those obstacles.

Our environment is our ecosystem and it should support our well being. Most times people are not assessing their environment and thinking about creative ways on how to improve it. Many times we are disappointed by our environment and fighting against what we don't want. We often don't even give ourselves permission to create the space that is most aligned with our desires. We want to give you permission.

While we were recording our last podcast "social media and relationships", the topic on exclusivity and dating took about 60 mins of our time, because my cohosts and I could not agree on what it means to be exclusive when dating. Take a listen to our discussion.

Exclusivity is a conversation that must be had in the early stages of dating, and not just assumed because you have been intimate with one other. It is interesting how many of us take these beliefs for granted.

The term Equally Yoked is used often, so we wanted to have a discussion about it. Equally Yoked is a biblical term that basically says to not marry someone who doesn't have the same religion or beliefs. It also has an agricultural meaning when a yoke joins two oxens together then they need to be the same to work together. Otherwise, they can't accomplish the goal of farming.

In this episode we discuss what it means to us. Janessa's perspective is about the power of exchange. Lisa's perspective is about similarities in love and vision. My perspective is about alignment of beliefs and values.

Take a listen and tell us what you think of this episode.

Finding an ideal mate can be hard. We just want to link up with someone we mesh with easily and live happily ever after, but unfortunately it is not that easy. Truth is it can be easier if we get better at knowing what to look for early on. We have to know ourselves well in order to truly know who the best match for us is. We have to be taking care of ourselves as well, so we are also looking to add value to the relationship. We can't add value if we are mentally, emotionally and spiritually exhausted. You are coming in with a deficit.

When we feel ready to date because we have done our inner work, we want to offer some tips that have helped us personally. We should be looking for shared beliefs, values and life philosophy, instead of just chemistry and external things. Look for someone with more high level qualities.

When things get rough, do they lean in or turn away? When you argue, do they want to be in the solution or more than the problem? Do they seem excited about you and desire quality time with you? Do they support your dreams and goals? Do they support you emotionally? Do they support you in being more of who you are, or do they want to control and change you?

These are habits you need to look for when asking yourself HOW DO I FIND MY IDEAL MATE?
