Pastor Todd uses a visual illustration to compare the two gates mentioned in Matthew 7:13. He challenges the church to seek the consecration needed to enter the narrow gate, to count the cost before choosing salvation, and to strive after Jesus with actions, not just desire to do better. Those who choose the easier, wide gate will one day account for their choice by hearing the most terrifying verse in the Bible: "Depart from me, I never knew you..."
Pastor Todd opens the message with a reminder that our children are gifts given to us from God, and encourages us to invite God into the process of parenting by asking for guidance. The lesson in prayer for our children comes through John 17, when Jesus prayed over the disciples. Two prayers he spoke over them can be applied to children today. First, He prayed, “ That they may know You, the only true God.” He then asks God to “keep” them. Pastor Todd closes with an instruction to wait for the weight of God’s glory when praying for our prodigals!
Pastor Todd addresses the Goliath of our day that stands against God’s people, mocking Him and the church. “Is there not a cause?” asked Pastor Todd. “Is there not a cause to stand up like David did in this hour? Where is the body of Christ? Where are people who will stand up?”Pastor Todd reminds the church of the hour we are in and how important it is to make corporate prayer a priority. Don’t miss the visual illustration at the close of the message as Pastor Todd implores the church to pray!
Pastor Todd opens the service with a warning against naivety concerning the last days as he highlights Bible prophecy unfolding right before our eyes. You may be surprised to hear how close we are to a one world order! Pastor Todd encourages the church to stand up and be beacons of truth in these last days and to guard ourselves against deception. We are living in unprecedented times but in the book of Matthew, Jesus tells us that although these things must happen, we mustn't be afraid. In the end times the spirit of deception and offense will sweep through the body of Christ creating division and contention, because of this, Pastor Todd implores the church to withstand offense, forgive quickly and remain unified.
