Alexios survives the encounter with the bear and the four young people prepare to leave together the stronghold at Arpash.
Alexios and Ariane get attacked by a brown bear and Alexios gets wounded. Ataraxes saves them and they all hurry to the stronghold at Arpash.
The caravan stops to wait for Thays and listen to her sad story and Ataraxes moves on to Buridava to meet with Strukon.
Ariane receives the best present ever, her bow and takes part in a beautiful harvest ceremony.
The convoy starts its journey to the mountains and Ariane finds out more about her companions.
