Maybe you’re looking to start teaching yoga in the corporate world and maybe you’re not really sure of how to make that transition from the yoga studio into the board room or into any office setting.
Well, today, I’m going to give you some insights as to how you can successfully make that transition and secure some corporate clients and corporate wellness partnerships with ease.
The corporate world really is a whole different energy than the yoga studio or even 1:1 Private yoga sessions. When you step out the yoga studio, there are some things that you need to be aware of in order to make sure that you’re connecting with your audience, your clients, or your students, which in this case is going to be a diverse group of people working in an office environment together, all with different needs, coming from different backgrounds and walks of life, different ages. Some may have practiced yoga once, some may be Ashtanga lovers, and others maybe don’t even know what yoga is.

Today I have a very special guest with me. One of my all-time favorite private clients, a long time friend, and professional baseball player, Jon Jay. Jay’s had an incredible career as a baseball player, but it all began here in the city of Miami. Playing professional baseball since 2006, spending 4 years in the minor league, part of 11 seasons in the major leagues and six playoff appearances. In 2011 he won the World Series with the St Louis Cardinals, and last year, amidst the pandemic, reached a huge milestone having played 10 full years of major league ball, something only about 6% of the nearly 20,000 players who have worn a big-league uniform have achieved.

Lizzy Chiappy is a Miami native who has always led an active lifestyle, which drove her to a career in the health and fitness industry in 2010, while completing her MBA through Florida International University. Lizzy is certified as an E-RYT 500-hour yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance and Pilates instructor through Polestar Pilates and The Pilates Method Alliance. Lizzy also founded MYP Athletes TM (previously called Yogalete), a prescriptive mindfulness, yoga, and pilates active recovery program for athletes of all ages and all levels. In addition, Lizzy co-founded Casa Vinyasa Yoga Studio in South Miami, alongside Melissa Echevarria in September of 2018. Lizzy is also a Pre Natal Yoga Certified Instructor, and is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and experience in this realm of yoga in Casa Vinyasa's upcoming 300-hour yoga certification program. Lizzy served as a lululemon athletica ambassador for the Coral Gables, FL community from April 2016- August 2018 and is currently an ambassador again since July 2020. This is the very first episode of the YogaBiz Academy podcast so I thought I’d start by introducing myself and giving you a little breakdown of what you can expect here every week. This podcast is meant to provide business, marketing & lifestyle tips and strategies for the yoga entrepreneur.
