This podcast highlights the awesome research work being done by Africans. It is a gallant attempt to place Africa on the map with regards to research and intellectual breakthroughs. It’s goal is to place the limelight on African researchers, while bringing science to the layperson serving as an inspiration to young upcoming scientists.
Current material challenges have necessitated the need to provide innovative solutions in the polymer materials space. Dr. Saed has led this charge in his research on stimuli responsive materials, having diverse applications. In this episode of Sani, the podcast that celebrates our African scientists, Dr. Saed discusses his ground breaking research and consequent start-up company, as well as his career journey from Sudan to Cambridge.
Dr. Thomas Tagoe is a neuroscientist at the University of Ghana. His research focuses on how our environment influences the structure and function of our brains in response to our experiences. He also doubles as the Chief Operations Officer at GHscientific, an organization that seeks to build capacity in both students and professionals active in the science and tech spaces through public engagement activities with additional emphasis on growing a community of individuals connected by this shared vision.

Dr. Nebie is a an anthropologist at the Arizona State University where she works hand in hand with local communities in sub-Saharan Africa to better understand the causes and effects of climate change with an emphasis on indigenous knowledge, in order to recommend solutions that will influence impactful policies.
Dr. Kwame Owusu Daaku is an Associate Professor and the Graduate Program Coordinator at the University of West Florida. His research focuses on understanding the effect of climate change and pollution on marginalized communities in coastal and inland coastal communities and the efforts of these groups to build resilience to these impacts.
