Welcome to Indaba: The African Debate. An Indaba is a discussion, traditionally called by the Chief or King to discuss the issues affecting the village or state. An Indaba usually took place under a designated tree. This is a space where we will discuss all the various African issues, triumphs and lustre. The idea is, for this to be a platform for everyone globally; to learn and understand Africa. Sit down, grab a drink and let's have a chat.
This week I have a conversation with Robyn Doyle. Robyn is the head of communications for the International Federation of Red Cross - Southern Africa.
The IFRC is a worldwide humanitarian aid organisation that reaches 160 million people each year through its 192-member National Societies. It acts before, during and after disasters and health emergencies to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people. It does so with impartiality as to nationality, race, gender, religious beliefs, class and political opinions.

This week, I had the immense pleasure of being invited by Mary-Ann Duke Okon to be part of her show Conversations: with Mary-Ann.
We spoke about Haiti and the political instability that has been more so after the assassination of President Moïse. Haiti is a beacon of black independence, black empowerment.

As we all have been catching up with the developments in Eswatini over the past few days, today I have a conversation with Maxwell Dlamini. Maxwell is a Swazi activist. He helped to organize pro-democracy student groups in opposition to Swaziland’s strict monarchical control. Since 2011, he has been in and out of jail for his political activism.
Maxwell has suffered a stroke as a result of his treatment and torture by the Swazi government. In recognition of his efforts, Dlamini has been nominated for several student peace awards and was the recipient of the All-Africa Students’ Union’s Student Activist Award in 2013.

Today I speak to Suzanne Silantoi. Suzanne ran for Senate in Nairobi at 23, the youngest ever candidate to run for Senate in Kenya.

Today I sit down with Hlengiwe Mkhaliphi a founding member of the political party, Economic Freedom Fighters (E.F.F) in South Africa. Hlengiwe served as the party's inaugural Deputy Secretary-General from 2014 until 2019. She is a Member of the National Assembly.
