For a debut novel, we did have a silly time. However, we’re both still trying to figure out how something can be simultaneously so under and overwritten.
Planning on keeping the book around for a week or two and then sending it back to the attic.
Also don’t forget we’re reading the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Mass! Book one will air on Monday, July 13th, so make sure to start reading as those episodes will continue to be released throughout the rest of the year!

If you ignore the romance, it was actually a really enjoyable book, unfortunately, this book is a romance, so there’s that…
And while typically we’re suckers for a dual timeline, in this case it lead to us wanting to be abandoned in the midst of a world war instead of reading the romance between Georgia and Noah.
All of that to say, we are nervous for the future of The Empyrean Series.
In other news, pick up your copy of The Midnight Train, by Matt Haig, which will air on Monday, June 15th, and to head over to our instagram where voting is now open for our following read which will air on Monday, June 29th!

While the romance may have taken a back seat, the plot sure kept us going! Not to mention, we’re still trying to understand how Devney Perry managed to not only include so many plot twists, but reveal them in a way that we didn’t see them coming!
Did you predict any of the surprises?

Though Kaitlyn and Kendra were both intrigued while reading the book, upon finishing it, we found ourselves left with not only the burden of drawing our own conclusions regarding the plot, but the responsibility to tie meaning and purpose to the story as well.
But according to Goodreads, we are definitely in the minority! What did you think?

Not a Greek mythology, but arguably an AP Lang persuasive essay topic contender. What one of us read as fantasy, the other interpreted as more of a speculative mystery!

There were several aspects of this thriller that had potential, the concept, the switching perspectives, the compelling backstory, and even a few fun gotcha moments. But in the end, there was one major faux pas that overshadows the rest of this book.
Can you guess what it is?
