Hands On Data
HODCast is idealised by the initiative Hands On Data, a comprehensive programme to promote cooperative collaboration between startups and established companies. The goal is not only to build an inspiring community, but to create solutions for relevant problems in the data context. Along the way, we establish the most exciting data convention in Europe, where international startups and top-class speakers come together.
This is the second episode of the special edition of our HODCAST, where we delve into the dynamic discussions and valuable insights stemming from our recent Hands On Data Conference 2023.

Have you ever thought about some of the most amazing technology available today? Either as prospective outcomes for the near future or as realities that we already face?
The ability to develop and innovate has made ideas like the internet of things and the world of artificial intelligence-driven technologies now realistic. And none of them were probably to exist without the understanding and the application of data.
It is not surprising that many of these new ideas are inspired by the great insights of entrepreneurs and start-ups, who are fundamentally "innovation-drivers."
Our #HODCast's first season's concluding episode featured a conversation with Florian Dauber about the aptitude for creativity and cooperation. He is project manager at STEAG, a firm that has participated in the previous #DataChallenges we have pushed and is doing so again this year. They are aware that only partnership and ingenuity may result in the creation of original thoughts, products, services, procedures, or perhaps the fusion of all of these.

After much effort, we succeeded in staging our Hands On Data Conference once more: this time live and in-person. The hodest B2B data conference, brought together businesses, startups, students, founders, experts, and data enthusiasts from all around Europe.
The #HODcon provided the ideal environment for information transfer, exchange, and networking with 35 speakers from 5 different countries, 2 stages, exhibition, and pitchclub areas.

Innovative and realistic solutions are required to address our current challenges. Nowadays, debates on issues such as energy transition and resource-aware consumerism are unavoidable due to the necessity for solutions to our present needs. In this case, digitization and data-driven implementations may help to simplify this difficulty. But how?
The first and most crucial stage for a founder is to have good ideas. Finding funding, however, is usually quite challenging, especially in data-driven fields where it takes a while to create a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). You might indeed have a great concept after all, but how are you going to secure the funding to start it?
Creativity and adaptability are key to employing solutions in the data area, but implementing such assets might be difficult, particularly in a business context. In order to achieve that, a change in the environment, management, and philosophy is quite often necessary. Aside from that, developing new ways of cooperating may be a good answer. The question is, how can this be accomplished?
Data and information offer the potential to lead us into a new era. The only question is: who will make the most of this resource now?
