Amanda “Panda” Ludwig is an award-winning entrepreneur and multi-company founder. Despite her diverse skill set spanning corporate finance to non-profit management, the most profound part of her journey unfolds not in a boardroom but in a hospital room. At the peak of her career, Amanda confronted a pivotal moment when a doctor delivered the words "slow down or die". Following a two-year medical leave, Amanda has emerged as a beacon of hope for high-achievers, illustrating that success and genuine happiness can harmoniously coexist.
We discuss her transformative journey from being a high-achieving entrepreneur to embracing her authentic self. She shares the detrimental effects of hiding behind a façade of success while her health suffered, and the importance of redefining self-worth beyond achievements. The conversation also explores how childhood experiences shape our drive for success, the significance of 'shadow work' in embracing our whole selves, and practical advice on maintaining hope and compassion through personal and professional challenges. If you're seeking inspiration and practical wisdom on balancing ambition with happiness, this episode is a must-listen.

Practicing the skill of COMMITMENT will change your life! When's the last time you showed up fully committed to making something happen in your life?
Closing the escape routes. Betting on yourself. All, in on all in? Stopping at nothing until you get there? Did you get there?
**We have gotten so used to wishy washy "maybe" "if I feel like it" "that sounds nice" "we will see what happens" energy. But that is not the way to create our grand vision.
Sure, commitment takes practice, discipline, focus, integrity, worthiness. Knowing when to take action and exert effort and when to ease up and surrender.**
And when we finally show up, create and receive what we truly want, isn't it always worth not giving up?
Serve the commitment, and then the commitment serves you. The best way to predict the future is to create it.
This episode is all about DIGGING DEEP - for determination, perseverance and GRIT.

This is THE masterclass on building WISE confidence: a balanced middle ground where you are free from incessant self-doubt, fear & imposter syndrome, but also from arrogance and recklessness.
Guest expert is self-discipline coach Giovanni Dienstmann and in this deep and honest conversation, we explore his own story around confidence and the impact of growing up with a narcissistic mother.
We then discuss a new way to rethink failure, how we should choose consistency over intensity, and the significance of setting boundaries for building confidence, both with others and ourselves. Additionally, we uncover the five pillars of self-confidence and discover practical ways to trick our minds into success.
As you listen, you may find yourself (like me!) scribbling notes, adding post-it reminders, and gaining a fresh perspective on confidence. New Year is the time when we often get reflective about CHANGE. Setting new goals. Shifting our behaviors. Taking new actions. But do you know what is even more important than that? Shifting your identity.
Our expert guest on the show is identity shift coach, podcaster and best-selling author Anthony Trucks. Prior to being a successful business owner, Anthony had to undergo his own identity shift. Growing up in foster care, Anthony lived with six different families by the time he was six years old. Statistically, he was more likely to end up homeless or in prison than in the NFL — and certainly, no one expected him to be a published author inspiring thousands on stages around the world.
The lesson? You can’t overcome your circumstances until you change your identity. So what identity shift do you need to make in 2024?
In this episode we discuss:
00:00 Changing Your Habits Starts With This
01:36 This Is Why You Self-Sabotage

Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor is a Harvard-trained and published neuroscientist. In 1996 she experienced a severe hemorrhage in the left hemisphere of her brain causing her to lose the ability to walk, talk, read, write, or recall any of her life. Her memoir, My Stroke of Insight, documenting her experience with stroke and eight-year recovery, spent 63 weeks on the New York Times nonfiction bestseller list and is still routinely the #1 book about strokes on Amazon.
In 2008 she gave the first TED talk that ever went viral on the Internet, which now has well over 26 million views. Also in 2008, Dr. Jill was chosen as one of Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World” and was the premiere guest on Oprah Winfrey’s “Soul Series” webcast.
In her newest book, Whole Brain Living: The Anatomy of Choice and the Four Characters That Drive Our Life, Dr. Jill debunks the myths that we use only 10% of our brain as well as the idea that our right brain hemisphere is our emotional brain, while our left brain houses our rational thinking.

What if you could reshape your future to get exactly what you want out of life? While it may appear idealistic, the influence of our thoughts, beliefs, and experiences on our future is profound. By consciously pursuing our goals, shifting our mindset, and nurturing a deep understanding of the realm of possibilities, we can initiate the process of manifesting the life we truly desire.

Have you ever asked yourself what is the purpose & meaning of your life? Have you ever wondered whether you have a soul, a soul that has possibly lived a life before this one? Have you ever questioned what happens or where you go after you die?
These are some of the themes we explore on this podcast today with world-renowned neurosurgeon and New York Times bestselling author Dr Eben Alexander. After decades as a physician and teacher at Harvard Medical School and elsewhere, Dr. Eben thought that he knew how the brain, mind, and consciousness worked. That is, until he had a transcendental near death experience during a week long coma.
He beat all odds to return to life and tells the tale of voyaging into the afterlife.

Are you stuck in a relationship you know you should leave but can’t? Stuck in an unfulfilling job? Stuck in the “I should” spiral of self-judgment, unable to make the leap between what you KNOW to do and what you ACTUALLY do?
Contrary to popular belief (and your nagging inner critic), you don’t have a laziness or motivation problem. There’s something else behind your discarded self-care plans, abandoned to-do lists, and neglected goals. And the way forward is simpler than you’d think.
Guest expert is Britt Frank, is a licensed neuro psycho therapist and author of The Science of Stuck named by Esquire, New York Magazine, Forbes, and NPR as a must-read. Britt received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her master’s degree from the University of Kansas, where she later became an award-winning instructor. Britt is a contributing writer to Psychology Today and she speaks widely about the mental health myths that keep us stuck and stressed.
In this episode she shares her own story from stuck to unstuck: from patterns of addiction, toxic relationships and poor self care to being a successful keynote speaker, author and therapist.

In this episode, we dive into the common anxieties and worries that haunt us, brought to you by the relentless "survival brain." It's that inner monologue that goes, "I'm going to be alone forever… I'm going to lose my job & end up on the streets... I'm never going to get better!" But here’s the key learning:
Stress, anxiety, and worry are simply signs that you've strayed from the present moment. The future's uncertainties have taken the front seat, while life itself sits in the back. The reality is, most of us aren't suffering in real-time; we're suffering in memory or imagination.
The good news? It's a choice. You can rewire your brain to unlearn these thinking patterns. You can learn how to become more uncomfortable with uncertainty. And you can develop a greater sense of self-trust that you’ll be able to figure out your problems when they ACTUALLY arise!
This solo episode is your 4-step roadmap out of worryland and into ease.

What if I told you there's a way to break free from the grip of overwhelm, stress and anxiety, and it's simpler than you think?
In this episode, I share with you the #1 way I have found to quickly reduce overwhelm and feel more on top of life rather than swept away in the sea of chaos & distraction. And… It is SIMPLE! (Cue: sigh a breath of relief)

This is my most vulnerable podcast episode yet because I get real with you about what it is like to struggle in real time. This is not a research-backed “how-to” episode with 1 million and 1 tips & tricks. This is not a failure story shared in the context of success. This is a failure story that shows what it is like to be in the messy middle. To be in a place of uncertainty where you need to dig deep to find courage to loosen your grip & trust in the unfolding of your life.
In this episode I share about how I failed to get out of my fear-based mindset, to meet my goals and launch a business.
But I share the breakthroughs I had in my inner work that I know are leading me to my highest good.
What I want you to know is that: you are exactly where you need to be right now and one day it is all going to make sense. You cannot shame yourself into change, you can only love yourself into evolution.
Much love,

Kimberly Shannon Murphy is a leading Hollywood for many A-list celebrities, including Cameron Diaz, Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie, Taylor Swift, and Sandra Bullock, and she has performed in more than 130 films and TV shows, including Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, Captain America, and The Hunger Games. For years, she would self-medicate the trauma of her abuse-filled childhood with the adrenaline rush that came from pushing herself to the absolute limit. But as Kimberly learned, no matter how much you suppress your past, it always catches up with you.
This inspiring episode is all about her quest to reclaim her life, to heal, to learn how to accept & love herself and make sure she is the cycle breaker in her family.

Have you ever thought that talk therapy is just not working for you? Do you often feel numb, tense or disconnected? Have you experienced any trauma in your life? For many of us our healing journey starts with our minds - making mental sense of our stories & experiences - and our society, after all, idolizes the mind and ‘rational’ thought. But for real & lasting change we need to connect to our bodies!
This is an episode about nervous system regulation, emotional healing through the body & finding internal peace & freedom. Marina also shares her own experience as an immigrant & refugee, dysfunctional dynamics in her childhood & her own wake-up calls.

A lot of people focus on getting their life BACK after toxic relationships, feeling like themselves again, but the truth is, that OLD SELF in the way that you knew it is actually not exactly what you want. It’s just the only reference point you have because you can’t see the next version of yourself. The version of you that is stronger, wiser, more kind, loving, peaceful, present & content than ever before. But that is the goal. It’s not restoring what WAS. It’s accepting what IS. And it’s equipping you to step into your next level of EXPANSION.
**In this episode you will learn 4 simple steps to do JUST that! Because you matter. Your dreams matter. Your wellbeing matters.
This is all about thriving, not just surviving. You deserve it.**

Intrusive thoughts. Those pesky if not downright distressing thoughts that seemingly appear out of nowhere and rip us away from any sense of calm. We all have them. We just often don’t discuss it because we feel embarrassed or ashamed. And that’s the EXACT reason why I am discussing it on this podcast! (You know me, I don’t shy away from the real talk ;)
In this episode I share my own huge wake-up call during a low moment in Australia in 2020 during the time I was separating from my narcissistic-ex partner. A wake up call to how exactly my thoughts were impacting my emotional wellbeing and only causing more suffering. You’ve likely been there too, during a time of high stress in your life.
I also share what you can do to navigate intrusive thoughts in your own life. Clue: Trying to suppress these thoughts does NOT work (in fact research shows it only makes it worse). Instead, we discuss grounding, meditation, mindfulness, acceptance, distanced self-talk and a couple of quick psychological hacks.
If you’d like a copy of the free 5-minute mindfulness meditation, DM me the word “meditation” over on instagram and I’ll send you a link to where you can download it.

We all naturally want to avoid feeling ‘negative’ emotions but if you bravely dare to face the shame, guilt & fear you have stored inside, you will unlock more joy, freedom & inner peace than you’ve ever known. This week’s guest is self-love embodiment coach Jessica Piff, also known as “Jess the Love Coach”. Like myself, Jess’ spiritual awakening and starting over was sparked by the lows of narcissistic abuse. It woke her up to her deep-seated insecurities and lack of self-love. But it catalyzed a transformative journey of self-discovery. Fast-forwarding a few years she is now married to a kind & caring man, living it up on the party island of Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand and living a life full of love, purpose and inner peace. Jessica Willis Fisher is Americana singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and author of a bestselling memoir “Unspeakable: Surviving My Childhood and Finding My Voice”. Jessica is the eldest daughter in a family of 14 which was headed by an extremely controlling, abusive, violent and domineering father who is now serving a prison sentence of 40 years on 4 counts of child rape. The darker reality was far from the wholesome All-American Christian musical family persona depicted in their reality TV show or their stint on America’s Got Talent.

Oftentimes it is fears, doubts and insecurities, which are blocking you from finding the clarity you seek. (Not to mention sparking greater overwhelm, anxiety, overthinking and inertia). So what are the common fears at play?
Fear of not being good enough. Fear of failure. Fear of loss of control. Fear of making the wrong choice. Fear of insecurity. And beneath it all… fears around losing love.
In this snippet, British author, motivational speaker and serial entrepreneur Alan Lucas shares some insights on how you can shift from a fear-based mindset, start expanding your appetite for risk and get more comfortable with the unknown.
And a key question he wants you to consider: Why were you created? “Because when you start getting answers to that, he says, your own answers & your own philosophy, then you have a clear sense of direction. In some ways, it doesn't matter about the little minutia steps you make along the way because you're driven in a direction (rather than stuck), you feel whole and you feel like you're growing and contributing.”

SPOILER ALERT: It was because I lacked self-love.
It is said that a smart person learns from their mistakes, but a truly wise person learns from the mistakes of others. Take it from me: poor self-worth and a lack of self-love will lead you nowhere good fast. It fuels addictions, leads to self-sabotage, weakens physical and emotional health and can keep you stuck on this hamster wheel of seeking externally to fill an inner void.
This episode is all about understanding how a lack of self-love holds you back and what you can do to change that. It is about delving directly into the causes, not wasting your time treating symptoms. It is about creating deep & lasting personal transformation and accessing inner freedom, joy and peace.

“Love touches and heals something that medications can't touch”. In this snippet, physician, psychiatrist and Harvard Medical School professor Jeffrey Rediger explains how lifestyle and beliefs affect gene expression and suggests we can look beyond traditional medicine to the role of emotions, spirituality and relationships (i.e. LOVE) in our health.
Dr Jeffrey shares the story of “Claire”, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and decided not to pursue conventional treatment. Instead, she focused on improving her quality of life by working through books about how to prepare for death, addressing relationships where she wanted to forgive people, and eliminating processed foods from her diet. Eventually, her cancer disappeared, and she was healed.
What can we learn from these cases of spontaneous remission (aka an unexpected improvement or disappearance of a disease or medical condition without any known or intended medical treatment)?

If you struggle with setting & maintaining boundaries, you are not alone. Fear of being rejected or dealing with other people’s anger, disappointment or frustration is enough to make many of us neglect our own needs and choose people-pleasing instead. Imagine if you had the self-discipline necessary to create positive habits, break bad ones, follow a morning routine, and consistently stay on track with your goals day after day. Imagine if obstacles such as low motivation, fear, self-doubt, distractions, overwhelm, excuses and procrastination would no longer hold you back.
Who would you become? What would your life be like? How would you feel?
Self-discipline is the topic of this episode, but mindful self-discipline, aka less of the less ‘drill-sergeant” military approach for mental toughness, and more gentle self-awareness and encouragement without the shaming & guilt-tripping.
Guest expert is Giovanni Dienstmann, a former lawyer come self-discipline coach who has helped hedge fund managers, CEOs, entrepreneurs, ambitious professionals, artists and pro-athletes to overcome distractions, procrastination, self-doubt, fear, and other forms of self-sabotage. He is also a meditation teacher, the author of “Mindful Self-Discipline” and curator of LiveAndDare.com, one of the top five most visited meditation blogs on the web.

How can you deal with intrusive thoughts? If you are “not your thoughts” then who are you really? What does your left brain and right brain have to do with suffering and happiness? How can you update your (dysfunctional) mind program to reduce suffering, increase happiness and find inner peace?

He is a specialist on consciousness, mindfulness, left- and right-brain differences, and artificial intelligence, and in this episode he explains and even shows you through some simple exercises that many of your problems are due to relentless thinking, but that thinking is not who you are and it is something you have the power to change.

How do you let go of that expired relationship, or that grudge, or that persistent lack of self-love, or all of that fear keeping you stuck? Clinical psychologist and healing retreat organizer Mary Firestone lived through the Montecito mudslide in 2018 that dropped 200 million gallons of rainfall in 15 minutes, washing away her home. Trapped alone in her bathroom while pregnant, not sure if her husband and four-year-old son were still alive, she wasn’t thinking that her trauma was a gift in disguise. Yet, as she began her journey to healing, this is exactly what she discovered. It is the message she shares here with us here too: the idea that your trauma, in whatever form it slayed you, can become an initiation into a fuller, more illuminated, and more joyful life.
We discuss Mary’s starting over story as well as different healing modalities that you can use, from EMDR, to psychedelic therapy, to aromatherapy and more, to free your mind, body and soul from the past.

Petra was born and raised in the infamous Children of God cult, conditioned to believe that she was being groomed to save the world. Being punished, shamed and ostracised for not ‘following the rules’, was the norm. As was being ‘home-schooled’ and moving countries to join a new ‘commune’ every year or so. It led to depression, alcohol addiction and suicidal ideation. Fast-forwarding some years, Petra is now a psychotherapist, renowned mental health expert, TEDx speaker and the CEO of mental health consultancy PVL.
In this episode we discuss Petra’s ‘starting over story’ from her childhood in the cult, to ‘escaping’ to London, and discovering truth, freedom and education.
We also discuss mental health in the workplace, including some common (unhelpful) misconceptions like if someone is aware of, or struggles with, their mental health they are not good at their job, or that if mental health issues are actually spoken about at work, they will get worse. Petra shares what YOU can do to change the culture, starting now.

We tend to ignore or diminish our progress because we focus on how much further there is to go, rather than how far we’ve come. But just because gains can feel small, it doesn’t mean that they are not there!

How can you determine the next right step for you? How does the universe send you signals you are on the right path? What are some key steps for tuning out external ‘noise’ and accessing authenticity? How can the “SAT” method (surrender, allow, trust) help us to get more of what we want with ease?
These are some of the questions I explore with keynote speaker and author of The Soul Solution, Vanessa Loder. Vanessa has an MBA from Stanford University and spent close to a decade working in finance on Wall Street and Silicon Valley, only to suddenly feel like she has reached the top of the wrong ladder. (A common experience! And one which is important to discuss).
This episode is all about giving you guidance on finding what is meant for you in love, work & life! So ditch your parents' views of success, or even that of wider society and forge your own path, for your own fulfillment, joy & meaning.

How can we break unhealthy patterns? How can we expand our window of tolerance, get less triggered and less reactive to live a more peaceful and free life? How long does it actually take to achieve lasting change?
These are some of the topics I explore with British trauma expert, research psychologist, coach and author of ‘You Are Not Broken’ Sarah Woodhouse. Sarah also explains how we can find relief from addictive processes including perpetual busyness which is so commonplace in 21st century Western society. She says: “Anyone who’s struggling with trauma, I promise you, you have addictive processes going on. The two go hand in hand”. But this isn’t meant to be a gloomy life sentence- this episode is created to inspire you, pique your curiosity and fill you with hope that you can in fact change yourself as well as your life to achieve something many of us are united in seeking: freedom and peace.
We also discuss ways in which Sarah’s own ‘starting over’ and her personal path to healing from relational trauma in her past and symptoms such as alcoholism & anorexia.

What are the root causes of illness? Why do medicine and psychiatry only treat symptoms instead of causes? What can spontaneous remissions (i.e. people ‘miraculously’ or unexpectedly healing from ‘incurable’ diseases) teach us about the nature of healing and wellness? What are the four key ingredients to lasting health & wellbeing? What role does love play in healing?
These are topics I explore with physician, psychiatrist and best-selling author Jeffrey Rediger. He is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and the Medical Director of McLean SE Adult Psychiatry and Community Affairs at McLean Hospital. A licensed physician and board-certified psychiatrist, he also has a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. His research with remarkable individuals who have recovered from incurable illnesses has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Oz Shows, among others. He has been nominated for the National Bravewell Leadership Award, and has received numerous awards related to leadership and patient care. And notably, he is the author of best-selling book, Cured: Strengthen Your Immune System and Heal Your Life, which is the theme of much of this podcast episode.
We also discuss ways in which Jeffrey has had a ‘starting over’ in life, including the loss of his fiancé Jane in a tragic car accident at which he was present, what he believes to be the root of suffering and pain in the world and what we can do about it.
This conversation is hopeful, inspiring, informative and Jeffrey brings such heart, humanity and humility that I know you will all love. I hope you enjoy the episode and if you do, please share with a friend!

How can we tune into the guidance of our higher self? What emotion is our egoic self driven by? Why could writing out your fears be a useful practice? How can we use the law of attraction to manifest our best lives? What practices can help us vibrate higher daily?
These are some of the questions that I explore with certified transformational coach and psychotherapist Kristina Furia. She fuses her expertise in psychology with cutting edge discoveries in quantum physics and neuroscience to guide us in moving beyond self-imposed limitations to create a fulfilling, abundant and joy-filled life.
In the first part of the episode we discuss Kristina’s own starting over story, moving through addiction, anxiety, depression and an unfulfilling marriage, to walk a spiritual path full of trust, faith, gratitude and deeper meaning.
In the second part of the episode we dive deep into these questions of higher self vs egoic self and practices for aligning to higher frequency emotions. I challenge Kristina because I know how mystical and intangible these concepts can be sometimes; but Kristina delivers the goods! She breaks the concepts down into ways that we can actually use them in our life.

Mindset & spiritual mentor, author and speaker Joe Hehn epitomizes what the Starting Over podcast is all about. He suffered tremendously with the loss of his wife to a rare form of cancer but awakened to a transformative spiritual journey and quest for meaning, peace and purpose in life. He shares his heart-warming and inspiring story on this episode, which contains pearls of wisdom for anyone moving through pain, loss and grief. We also discuss topics such as reincarnation, past lives, spiritual mediums & communication with those who have ‘passed over’ (the timing of which is incredibly uncanny for me as we recorded this conversation the day prior to a huge loss in my life).
In the second part of this episode, we focus on Joe’s professional work and specifically 10 mindset tools we can use to channel our highest self and manifest our most peaceful, abundant and joyous life. Think: law of attraction, manifestation, gratitude practices, subconscious mind rewiring, visualization and more.
This was undoubtedly one of my favorite and most unforgettable podcasts to date. I hope this episode touches your heart. Please do share it with anyone you think it will help and click follow wherever you’re listening to this for the podcast to appear in your catalog.

This isn’t a go-to instructive bible called “This is how you heal!” because I believe there is an individualized path to take. But what I know for sure is that a commitment to doing the inner work of healing will bring you closer to an inner peace you’ve never experienced before & that is worth exploring!
The 5 practices shared in this episode are what shifted the needle for me & have led me towards the most calm & balanced inner state and the most satisfying work & love life I’ve ever known. A mere 2 years ago I was anxious, vulnerable, stressed and going through a legal custody battle in Australia with a narcissistic ex-partner in a state of rage. Now I wake up to a view of the Swiss alps and Lake Geneva in Switzerland, I have a healthy thriving relationship & work that lights me up daily.
This is a direct result of a commitment to healing & self-growth. I share some of my secrets here.

What if your “gut instinct” or “gut feeling” about someone was more than something metaphysical or woo woo? What if it actually was from one of the organs in your body? Namely, our GUT. Think of this episode as gut health 101: what is our gut and what does it do? What does the word microbiome even mean? What is the nature of the gut-brain connection? What are some signs that our gut health is less than optimal? How can we have a gut reset? Simple answers and simple hacks provided herein.
Our guest is British nutritional therapist Eve Kalinik. She is co-host of podcast “The Wellness Collective”, the author of two books: Be Good to Your Gut and Happy Gut, Happy Mind and she regularly writes on the subject of food, nutrition and wellbeing for media platforms and newspapers including The Telegraph, The Guardian, GQ and Vogue.
In addition to “gut health for dummies” class, we also discuss Eve’s own starting over - moving into functional medicine and nutrition from the busy world of fashion PR, much to the incredulity of her boss who couldn’t believe she’d pass up working with Dolce and Gabbana & Givenchy for… gut health. (PS: Eve is pretty content with that start over). We also share some views around serendipity, spirituality, whether things really ‘happen for a reason’ and how health & wellness has got to be holistic in nature.

As the old saying goes “uncertainty is the only certainty in life” and yet… It is so difficult to deal with! Why? You will find the answer to that and many ways to help cope with uncertainty, feel less limited by fear and unlock your highest potential.
This episode focuses on two types of uncertainty: external (i.e. surrounding uncertain circumstances) and internal (i.e. inner blocks which are typically fear-based). I also share some of my own experience and lessons learned in dealing with uncertain periods like when I had a difficult family law procedure, and when I could not see my fiancé for 14 months due to covid-19 related border closures.
The other episodes mentioned within to help you overcome internal uncertainty, which often presents as chronic indecisiveness, a lack of self-confidence and self-trust, a desire for reassurance and approval from others and a persistent second-guessing of oneself, one’s choices and one’s competencies, are:

We discuss how trauma neurobiologically changes the brain and body, how dissociation is a common survival strategy but one we need to move through for true healing, how to cultivate safety in the body, some common myths & misconceptions associated with trauma and signs of progress, which can often feel hard to identify!
Summer also shares her own starting over story with chronic illness, what true ‘self-care’ actually is (beyond what brands & marketeers try to tell you it is in order to sell their products) and the Leonard Cohen poem which she has had on her wall for years.

Dr Courtney Tracy grew up knowing poverty, neglect and abuse; in adolescence and beyond her escape became substance misuse, self-harm and risky behaviour. Today she is known as “The Truth Doctor” to her 2 million followers online, is a renowned psychotherapist, licensed clinical social worker, healthcare entrepreneur and content creator.
We often hear these ‘rag to riches’ stories, but they often stop at the point of success and leave a (frequently false) sense of ‘happily ever after’. In this episode, Courtney shares her story of success in education and business but goes one step further: she sold that very business that brought her ‘success’ in the name of mental health.
We also discuss Courtney’s journey with drug addiction, being diagnosed with and managing borderline personality disorder, how to take a proactive stance towards mental health, the key role of curiosity in healing and the benefits of slowing down.
Her story is an inspiring one - full of courage, resilience and determination - and Courtney speaks with such openness and authenticity. She reminds us all that we need not be defined by our past and we can break through limitations to build a life we love.

Do you want to deepen your connection to your partner, or to yourself, and have the best sex you’ve ever had? Well clinical sexologist Jacqueline Hellyer says, much of that will involve clearing the negative energies, barriers and blockages that conceal our true sensual & sexual nature.
We are hardwired for pleasure and sex in humans is a predominantly bonding rather than reproductive function unlike other mammals. But due to the stresses of modern-day life, our nervous systems are dysregulated, leaving us feeling less than sexy, connected and calm. Not to mention the guilt & shame many of us carry around sex. Let's fix that!
On this episode we discuss how we need to ‘sink in’ to ourselves to be able to ‘sync in’ to our partners, how to make space for little moments of connection, how to quieten our minds & become more embodied, the key role of safety & where many of us may be going wrong with orgasms - yeah really, you heard that right.
Our guest is Australian sex & relationship therapist, coach, retreat-host and author Jacqueline Hellyer who brings a typical Aussie no-nonsense, straight-talking approach to unleashing our sexuality and having the best sex we’ve ever had. I laughed a lot on this episode and I hope you do too!

“Identities are anything that end the sentence “I am ____”. Whatever you say at the end of that is describing at the very most, the very least of you”, says this week’s guest, spiritual teacher and writer, Neal Allen. Much of this conversation is about who we are, really. Beneath our roles, our jobs, our social status...
We also discuss how we can make more meaningful connections in social situations and avoid the constant dreaded question of “what do you do for a living”, what compassion is and how to alleviate suffering, how we confuse wants and needs, how we can tame our inner critic, and why being ordinary is a good thing!

Do you often credit your success to luck, to helpful others or another external factor? Do you downplay your own expertise, even in areas where you are actually more skilled than others? Do you not feel deserving of the work title you hold?
These are all signs you may have ‘imposter syndrome’ - a persistent doubt concerning your abilities or accomplishments accompanied by the fear of being exposed as a fraud, despite evidence of your success.
On this podcast, I discuss what imposter syndrome is and some signs that this may be an area-for-improvement for you. I then consider five common types of imposter syndrome, as identified by Dr Valerie Young: the perfectionist, the expert, the natural genius, the soloist and the superperson, and invite you to consider which one you see yourself in, before sharing 5 different ways that you can ditch it for good and make steps towards living out your highest potential with the most inner freedom possible.
I also share some of my own experience with imposter syndrome as a university student and what I wish I had done differently.

Are you someone who struggles setting and maintaining boundaries? Do you have the ‘disease to please’, often neglecting your authentic self and true desires in the process? Are you an empathic and sensitive person who can oftentimes take on the emotions of the people around you?
If so, this episode is definitely one for you! Today’s guest is Kristen Schwartz - author of “The Healed Empath: The Highly Sensitive Person’s Guide to Transforming Trauma and Anxiety, Trusting Your Intuition, and Moving from Overwhelm to Empowerment” and founder of wellness community the “Realized Empath”. Kristen has a BSc in Psychology, an MA in Counseling and many years of experience helping empaths harness their sensitivity as a superpower and navigate the world with better boundaries. And she shares much of that wisdom on this episode as well as her own starting over story - processing and healing childhood trauma and finding aligned purpose in her work-life.

Do you have fears or limiting beliefs that hold you back in life? Today’s guest hypnotherapist, speaker and author, Brad Yates has a self-help healing technique for that: “tapping”, formally known as “emotional freedom technique”, which involves tapping on energy meridians throughout the body while talking through and resolving emotional resistance or trauma (think acupuncture without the needles and free therapy thrown in).
For over 20 years Brad has been teaching these techniques in person and on his YouTube channel which contains 1100 videos with over 38 million views. In this episode, he shares the research and philosophy behind EFT tapping, how we can practice ourselves (5-minute demonstration featured) and his own story starting over from actor to hypnotherapist.

Do you tend to procrastinate, doubt yourself and excessively ruminate on what went wrong? Do you not attempt certain things you’d really like to do out of a fear of failure or fear of judgement from others? Do you struggle with low self-esteem and low self-worth?
These may all be signs you struggle with perfectionism. But you likely know that. This episode is all about how you can break out of that perfectionistic paralysis, heal your wounds and live a happier & healthier life, while still being a high achiever.
You’ll learn how perfectionism is a defense mechanism that you use to avoid feeling shame, pain or fear and how shadow work can help with that, why resting guilt-free and practicing self-compassion are crucial as well as common misconceptions about perfectionism and other ways to overcome it.
Please leave a rating/review if you enjoy the show & share with another recovering perfectionist!

What if surrendering was not giving up or being lazy but actually granting us access to an intelligence far greater than our own? Could letting go of control, pain and thoughts lead us to our highest self and our best life? What if the answers we are searching for are not external to us, but internal, and already present?
These are some of the questions considered in this week’s episode with John Purkiss, author of “The Power of Letting Go: How to drop everything that’s holding you back”.
In the first part of the show we hear John’s own starting over story: how he achieved “success” both academically, as a graduate of Cambridge University and INSEAD, and professionally, in his career in banking and management consulting. But at age 26 he was diagnosed with clinical depression which nearly proved fatal. And yet it is something he now describes as a ‘gift’ because of the new path it set him upon.
In the second part of the show, we consider the themes in his book “The Power of Letting Go”, including surrendering, letting go, pain patterns, feeling stuck and a technique called completion - which involves re-living experiences which cause pain, agitation or disturbance within us in order to release them.

“Thinking is the root cause of your suffering”. You will hear this many times in this episode, and by the end you will know WHY as well as HOW you can make a simple & effective change in your daily life to reduce your suffering and experience more joy & peace.
The guest is spiritual thought leader and best-selling author of “Don’t Believe Everything You Think”, Joseph Nguyen. In the first part of the show we hear about Joseph’s own starting over story, his experience as a ‘good Catholic boy’ who “always tried to be a good person, be of service to others and obey his parents”, but was regularly feeling lost, empty and never enough. But this led him onto a path of spiritual awakening and self-development: where he stopped looking for answers externally and looked internally instead (something he now encourages us all to do).
In the second part of the episode, we discuss how thinking causes us suffering, the difference between thinking and thoughts, and how we can stop thinking and be guided by our intuition.

How can we deal with feelings of loneliness after separation? How can we learn to trust again after being betrayed? Is it realistic to remain friends with the person we separated from? How can we learn to love ourselves when we’ve been put down in a relationship?
These are some of the questions I explore with American life and relationship coach Stephanie Lyn. In the first part of the episode we discuss Stephanie’s own self-development & spirituality journey after being asked for divorce by her husband when their baby was 1 month old (and later finding out he had been having an affair through her pregnancy). In the second part of the episode we focus on starting over after heartbreak, separation and divorce, answering the questions above and much more!
Stephanie is a no-fluff communicator - she serves us up a platter of simple truths and practical tips to help us heal, survive and thrive. PS: She mentions women a lot in her descriptions but this is just as applicable for men too!

Laura Davis came to fame and acclaim in the late 1980s after the publication of her book: “The Courage to Heal: A Guide for Women Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse” in which she shared her own experience of sexual abuse by her grandfather. An ordeal which left her feeling broken, damaged and incapable of loving & freely receiving love as well. But she dared to heal her pain and to ‘return to her body’, from which she had long dissociated as a result of the trauma she lived through.
In our conversation we discuss her healing journey, what adversity taught her and what type of forgiveness is essential in cases of abuse. We also discuss her relationship with her mother, who long refused to believe Laura’s truth and with whom the decision to go public with her grandfather’s incest with the publication of “The Courage to Heal” further deepened their estrangement. This is the subject of Laura’s beautiful and captivating memoir “The Burning Light of Two Stars: A Mother-Daughter Story”and I think in this podcast and far beyond, Laura has many words of wisdom to share about reconciling relationships, how to overcome adversity and how to live a joyful and happy life.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate” - Carl Jung
Reality is that our subconscious controls so much of our lives and we do not even know it. We often think that life is happening TO us, when in reality we are creating and attracting people, events & circumstances based on our own often subconscious beliefs and parts of our personality. And this continues to be the case until we become conscious of what is unconscious in us: and this is the purpose of shadow work.
On this episode, I draw on my recent experience at a week-long spiritual and self-development retreat in Southern France (that felt like a rebirth of sorts as it impacted me so significantly) and I explore:
This episode is intended to inspire, motivate and encourage you to start or continue this journey of doing the inner work, but it is not a substitute for psychological treatment. Shadow work can be challenging, especially for people with a history of trauma, therefore I would encourage you to seek out professional help where you can for this.

Emmy is a shining example of someone who has transformed her pain into purpose; her first experience of romantic love from age 15 was abusive and she was left with many symptoms of trauma, including flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety and suicidal ideation. But she is now in a happy & healthy long-term relationship and she is a certified trauma-informed life coach who specialises in helping her clients create thriving lives and relationships after trauma.
We discuss Emmy’s own experience with trauma, her healing journey and learning to love again after being hurt. We also share some differing perspectives on what ‘unconditional love’ means.

Four years ago, I ended an abusive relationship with the person I share a child with. But that did not signal the ‘end’ of the separation: in ways, it was only the beginning. There were two years of difficult legal proceedings, full of pure lies, manipulation, false allegations & frivolous additional legal suits on the part of my ex. But after some time, justice was served. I slam dunk won the legal case and was given permission to relocate to Switzerland from Australia and have sole parental responsibility (custody) of our son.
Sadly this isn’t the most common outcome in cases in which one parent has a ‘high conflict’ personality disorder (e.g. narcissism, sociopathy), so on this episode I share some of the strategies that contributed to my success - both in the legal procedure itself and also in managing my emotions and finding the inner resources to fight a fight I often very much wished wasn’t happening
This episode was originally featured on “It’s All Your Fault!”, the podcast from the “High Conflict Institute” hosted by Bill Eddy, LCSW, Esq. and Megan Hunter MBA, which explores the “five types of people who can ruin your life” (the name of one of their books) and how to spot and deal with these characters - whether in romantic relationships, at work or beyond.

Why is a regulated nervous system so important for our health? What are some symptoms of a dysregulated nervous system and what can we do to bring us back into homeostasis - our state of optimal functioning? How can we support someone experiencing anxiety? How can we manage a panic attack?
These are some of the questions I explore with Australian anxiety counsellor Anna Papaioannou. In the first part of the episode we discuss Anna’s own healing journey, which was linked with a traumatic rollercoaster accident when she was ten years old which led to many physical and mental health problems. In the second part of the episode we focus on overcoming anxiety and discuss the questions above. What is spirituality? What is inner child work and why is it of benefit to people? What is at the root of perfectionism? How can we build true confidence?
These are some of the questions I explore with confidence & mindset coach Kristen Such. In the first part of the episode we discuss Kristen’s own spiritual development journey, which started with the difficult divorce of her parents when she was a late teen and then her own ‘starting over story’ after being chronically dissatisfied with her work in the corporate world which led her to take a chance, face her fears and pursue her passion in starting her own business. In the second part of the episode we discuss how to build confidence, how to heal or connect with our inner child and how to overcome perfectionism - while understanding the roots of all of these behaviors. I also share some vulnerable moments of my own that I haven’t publicly spoken about before; it’s an open and honest conversation with lots of practical tips for healing and growth too!

What can Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) tell us about dying and our life on Earth? Why shouldn’t we be afraid of dying? Why do NDEs make for such compelling starting over stories?
These are some of the questions I explore with my guest, my partner in love and life, David Perroud.
David holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Simon Business School in New York, and he has spent a large part of his career as the co-founder and CEO of an international market research company. But while he was a successful businessman, he had a deep curiosity and interest in finding answers to what he perceives to be some of life’s biggest questions: What is the universe? Who are we? What is the purpose of our existence?
That took him on a journey across scientific fields such as cosmology, astrology, life sciences, neuroscience and quantum physics. A unifying theme, he learnt, was that of consciousness in which he became an expert and made a huge pivot from market research into becoming a full time author. He is the author of 4 novels for which he has received much acclaim across Francophone countries and from some of the biggest names in science, including Ervin Laszlo, twice nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Bold title. And the short answer to this bold statement is that we need to train and tame our mind. Why? Because we experience our life predominantly through our mind. Our thoughts create our lives. They not only shape how we interpret the world around us, they shape what we actually choose to do and who we choose to be and become. And when it comes down to our so-called ‘problems’, the real problem is likely not the situation, but rather our thoughts about it.
In this solo episode I explore:

Today’s guest is Mar Michelle Hausler, a former London financial trader turned social entrepreneur, coach and speaker. After 5 years working for prestigious investment banks, in a high-adrenaline, money, sex, drink & drug-fuelled environment, Mar left finance on a quest for a deeper understanding of herself and the world around her. Dr. Nadine Macaluso is a licensed marriage & family therapist and somatic psychologist. She has a PhD in somatic psychology and is trained in a modality called NARM – the NeuroAffective Relational Model, which utilises the mind-body connection for healing. Her expertise is complex trauma, attachment, trauma bonds and narcissism, due to her former marriage to the infamous Wolf of Wall Street, Jordan Belfort (subject of a blockbuster film directed by Martin Scorcese with leading cast including Leonardo DiCaprio).
On this episode we hear some of Nadine’s story of her eight-year marriage, which she says was filled with abuse, greed, drugs and trauma. But Nadine is of the view that there is indeed much wisdom in our wounds & we can all learn valuable lessons from our (inevitable!) adversity.
We also discuss some of the lessons Nadine learned through adversity - not only in her abusive marriage but illness too - what she wishes her 23 year old self knew (she’s now 54), why the film “The Wolf of Wall Street” felt like the “ultimate form of gaslighting” and making a big career change at age 39.

By age 30, he was the owner of 10 nightclubs, bars and restaurants in Paris and living a life marked by excess of all forms and one which was full of adrenaline, ambition & hyperactivity. He was quote on quote “successful” but nevertheless unhappy.
Seeking meaning, self-awareness and freedom, Romain decided to take a flight to Brazil and start a deep and transforming spiritual quest in the Amazon rainforest. A four year long inner journey that led him to follow the teachings of a spiritual master, to live in an ashram in India, to explore ayahuasca, yoga, tantra, ayurveda and ancestral wisdoms…

What is an untamed mind? And why should we make it a priority to tame it?How can we experience more joy and even bliss in our lives? What is the difference between wisdom and intelligence? Can we find meaning and purpose in suffering? Are Buddhist practices about quieting one’s mind? What is the difference between love and attachment, and why should we seek to remove the latter?
These are some of the questions we cover today with Austrian monk Markus Getzner, who has spent the past 30 years of his life as a practicing monk at a Tibetan monastery in Switzerland.

Lael Stone is an Australian educator, speaker, author, mother, and parenting counselor who has been working with families for over 18 years. Her TEDx talk on how to raise emotionally intelligent children has been watched nearly 1 million times, she is the co-host of a successful podcast, namely, “The Aware Parenting Podcast”, and she is the co-creator of an innovative new school in Australia based on emotional wellbeing and connection.
On today’s episode Lael shares a very challenging personal experience of hers with the near-loss of her daughter during birth but how that led her to understand trauma & healing and how it shaped her career trajectory thereafter.
We then discuss conscious parenting. What is it? What is involved in the art of listening? Why is it often so hard to meet our kids in their anger or in their tears? How important is it for us to heal our own trauma so that our children do not inherit our potentially dysfunctional emotional legacies? (PS: It’s bloody important).
In the last section we talk about educational changes we wish to see in the world, and educational changes that Lael is in fact a real part of through her work with the school she co-created. What does it mean to nurture the whole child in education? Where are we going wrong in mainstream education?
This was one of my favourite podcast episodes yet because Lael brought wisdom with such warmth in a true Aussie down-to-Earth fashion.

Have you ever wondered what a spiritual retreat entails and think you may like to do something similar to accelerate your healing and self-development work? This was hands down THE best work I have ever done in this space and I’m sharing some of the insights, wisdom gained, lessons learned on the topics of healing, joy, vulnerability, jealousy, letting go/surrender and defence mechanisms.
I encourage you to dare to explore your defence mechanisms and what lies beneath them, to surrender and let go wherever you can, to reframe your jealousy into something positive, to truly know that there is power in vulnerability and to unabashedly follow your joy! Some of this may pleasantly surprise you.

You should DEFINITELY swipe left on these people! (Even if there is a temptation to swipe right). These are the types of people who should come with a warning sign: high conflict personalities - narcissists, sociopaths, psychopaths, borderlines, histrionics, paranoids… They often present with an abundance of charm in the early days… but those ‘high highs’ usually lead to ‘low lows’.
In this episode with high conflict expert Megan Hunter, co-founder and CEO of the High Conflict Institute, we discuss:
And a lot more!
Maybe this isn’t the sexiest of conversations, but it’s certainly one that will equip you with a keen eye for what could become problematic down the track for one of THE most important decisions we will make in our lives: who to partner up with! In this episode we do a deep dive into trauma and shame - what is it? How can we recognise it? Is it stored in our bodies? How do we heal it? What do we do to try and ignore its existence? How can we help someone we know who is struggling?

Belgian economist Guibert del Marmol was young, bright, ambitious and on track to become highly successful in the economic world until he was sidelined by a devastating diagnosis: a brain tumour which doctors said would likely take his life within three months. This was 1994 and he is here with us today to tell his starting over story. Instead of killing him, this ordeal marked the beginning of a new life, a radical personal transformation that would completely change him, not only as a man, a husband, a friend, but also as a business executive and an entrepreneur.
In today’s episode we discuss Guibert’s holistic healing journey, from conventional medicine to epigenetics to integrative and even quantum medicine. Guibert also shares with us his vision of a new society: one which upholds the common good, gives access to dignity for all, and has an astute awareness of the interdependence between all things: us, nature and the cosmos.

Did you make a New Year's Resolution this year and feel a little off track? Well if so, you’d perhaps be relieved to know that you’d be among the other 80% who are feeling this way at the end of January…
Today’s guest, productivity coach Kierra Asnauskas, says that most failure is rooted in the lack of intention and strong ‘why’. And that in order to achieve lasting success, we all need “a why that is strong enough to weather the struggles of the how” .
In today’s episode we discuss strategic goal-setting, consistency, discipline, staying on track and what to do when you fall off the bandwagon (clue: self-compassion AND a kick up the arse are both necessary!). You’ll also hear Kierra’s own story dealing with financial difficulties, mental health issues and “pivoting” many a time to find her passion and purpose in life.

“We all desire to do good for ourselves, our people and our planet, but it all starts with feeling good” says Madeleine Wisecup, today’s guest, who shares her starting over story of being diagnosed with a potentially cancerous auto-immune condition and suffering a miscarriage which led to a significant personal transformation. One in which she radically changed her life: her profession, her city of residence and particularly her consumption habits: what she was putting in and on her body. Story short, she healed. And she is here to share her story and suggestions for a healthier, happier self and a healthier, happy world.
Should we use teflon products? How can we reduce our plastic consumption? What should we do with our e-waste? What practices can we adopt to centre and ground ourselves? What is slow living? What is yuka? You’ll find some answers to these questions and more in this episode.

Crying episodes, sweaty palms, nervous breakdowns, increasing cynicism towards her job… Christine Reffo had all the warning signs that she was burning out. But she ignored them. Until she could no longer deny that her lucrative, prestigious and fast-paced lifestyle working for a global Swiss bank was harming her health and wellbeing.
Christine says: “I was used to pushing and overriding my physical and emotional needs in order to get another very important need met… That is, external validation, praise and love through (my) performance at work”. But she now knows that her worthiness is intrinsic and unshakeable, and she is guided by a new motto that is: “If it costs you your mental health, it is too expensive”. I couldn’t agree more.
In this episode we discuss Christine’s decision to step away from corporate, her holistic healing journey and how we can live an abundant life, full of meaning, joy and freedom.

Have you ever paused to consider how much of your life is driven by fear? Fear of being judged. Fear of failure. Fear of not being good enough… But what if you could step through this fear and vulnerability in the knowledge that love and joy will be awaiting you when you do?
Today’s guest is Dr Mary Quinlivan, who shares her starting over story: from the “wake up calls” of severe insomnia, depression, anxiety and a car accident, to bravely leaving a lucrative & high-status profession, to pursue inner healing and a new professional venture: spiritual psychotherapy.
We discuss spiritual awakening, what it takes to truly heal, how to let go of the need for external approval and listening to our inner wisdom.
