As a research scientist, Kristie Tacey, worked in laboratories all her life and worked on the Human Genome Project. But she wanted more and was introduced to the world of winemaking. In 2009 she started her winery, Tessier Winery, and began making her favorite variety, Pinot Noir. The Richmond Craneway was once used to manufacture Ford trucks, and during World War 2 was a hub for ship building. Today though, it plays host to the Richmond Craneway Craft Fair. For 47 years, the Craneway Crafts Fair has provided local and amateur Bay Area artists a place to showcase their talents and works of art for all to enjoy. This is KPFA’s largest fundraiser event of the year and after moving the event from San Francisco to Richmond, CA, they immediately doubled attendance. Today on Real Realtors, I talked with I had a chance to catch up with Alex Lopez, who is set to close 15 properties this year, and Rachael Hand, who is the incoming president-elect for the Contra Costa Association of Realtors. We talked about their involvement in real estate, some tips they had for other agents, as well as diving into Props 60 and 90 and their impact on housing. In the United States, there are over 1.5 million people who suffer from Parkinson’s Disease. Parkinson’s Disease is a progressive, degenerative disease that causes the brain to stop producing dopamine, which plays a key role in brain-to-muscle communication. There is no cure. Luckily, those with Parkinson’s still have a way to fight this terrible disease, thanks to organizations like Rock Steady Boxing- Albany, and PD Active. Rock Steady Boxing, which has 454 locations all over the country, uses various boxing training regiments as a way to utilize movement to combat the diseased degenerative effects. PD Active is a non-profit based in Berkeley that looks to find and create programs, much like Rock Steady Boxing, that provide support for those who deal with Parkinson’s Disease. Our guests in today’s episode are Daniel Burkhart, trainer at Rock Steady Boxing- Albany, and Judith Lubman, one of the acting board members for PD Active.

As a property manager and Realtor whose office is located in Richmond, CA, I was in the center of a heated debate.
