Recruiting is one of those things that is absolutely vital to every clan!  If your clan is going to stay healthy and active, someone needs to be on it.  And just like dating, finding the right people (or the right clan if you’re searching) can be exciting…and scary!

JohnnyGator of Reddit Ace and JerseyDiablo of Reddit Upsilon join me to talk clash about recruiting!  JohnnyGator is author of some of the most hilarious recruiting posts on r/ClashofClans and leader of Reddit Ace who, although they are a CWL clan, still needs to stay on top of it to bring in new blood.  JerseyDiablo is a long time leader and, like me, long time fellow user of /r/ClashofClansRecruit and the /r/ClashofClans recruiting opportunities.

Today we’ll talk about why you need to recruit, how it’s changed over the years, and things to think about while doing it!  Plus learn a little bit about Reddit Ace!  Trivia: did you know they were the origina [...]

The Turkey Day Trophy Push and trophy pushes in general are on the LONGEST traditions of the Reddit Clan System and once again a large number of our RCS Clans are pushing this thanksgiving in our 4th annual Turkey Day Push!

Zulu and Echo went neck and neck into the home stretch this spring…both are gearing up for a good run this time even though we are all looking at the amazing start of Reddit Vortex!

In this supersized episode, the 3 of us will talk pushing - strategies, history, and our own personal thoughts and memories.

In addition, we’ll divert a bit (okay a lot) to talk about Reddit Echo getting ready for their bid in the MLCW League Tournament and talk about why it is that Reddit Zulu is such an active clan as well as clan life in both.

Perfect to listen to this Thanksgiving weekend for those on holiday…or while in the clouds for all you pushers out there!

The Builder Hall recently was updated to include BH7 and a lot of us are now playing it with 5 camps and the giant cannon.  As we haven’t yet really discussed it in detail but several in the RCS are really enjoying it and playing it hardcore while others have some very valid compliants, I invited folks to come join me to discuss anything and everything about the Builder Hall…thetallguy of Reddit Hotel and Piney of Reddit Hounds answered the call and so we did!

In this we will discuss the original release, the issues with lack of competitive options, walls, gemming, the enjoyability of fast army training, strategy, comparisons with the main base, and much, much more!

To those who’ve heard of him he’s mostly a legend these days!

Flammy downloaded a little mobile game in early August 2012 and, when he went to look for a subreddit, he didn’t find one…so he made it!

Showing his love of teaching, he created guides and videos for Clash of Clans very early on and used those to grow the /r/ClashofClans subreddit.  He also noticed that there was a need for good Clans for Redditors - and the Reddit Clan System was born!

With time and passion he grew both for that first year, setting them both up for what they’d later become as they flourished and passed into the hands of others.  Still active on Reddit, and the video game world in general, Flammy joins us 5 years after the game’s creation to Talk Clash!

This is the fourth and final (for now!) in the 4 part series on Clash of Clans content creation, and today we’re talking to professional content creator Klaus of Klaus Gaming!

Klaus has built a small (actually, not that small!) empire in the Clash of Clans media world with YouTube videos and streaming.  He has a high quality subscriber base to his streams he calls the Klaus Family and over 100,000 YouTube subscriptions.  He streams CWL matches for his Clan BarbarianParty and also covers raids, guides for the main base, a fix-that-rush series, and how-tos on the Builder Base as well.  He started doing what he enjoyed but also has turned it into a real life pursuit doing what he loves…and because of his high quality content, he’s gotten noticed by Supercell, first being invited to their YouTubers workshop, then as a LiveStream contestant and most recently as one of the hosts of their 5th Anniversay Event!

Listen in to hear about the develo [...]

This is third in the four part series on Content Creation for Clash of Clans!

MathBandit from Reddit Zulu joins me for his first appearance, and Piney from Reddit Hounds for his third (first person to hit 3 episodes!) to talk about their experiences doing live streaming of wars and events both for their clans and for the RCS!

Both have very different styles, but will talk about how they got into it, considerations for streaming including the dos and don’ts, what makes it fun, and how they do it behind the scenes.

Chances are, any time they are streaming, you will find a link in the RCS global chat if you want to check it out!  You’ll be able to watch whatever war they are streaming and participate in the chat alongside anyone else watching.  If you’re nice, they may even let you hop onto voice

In this second episode talking about Clash of Clans video content creation, we’ll talk to Galadon! He has found a way to make a career out of talking about video games!

Among the many things he does, he has a channel on YouTube with daily uploads that average 10s of thousands of views and nearly 1.5 million subscribers, streams regularly on Mixer, and travels multiple times a year to Supercell headquarters to cast LiveStream events in Finland and Estonia!  He creates content for Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, and other games as well.

This will be the first of a four part series on creating Clash of Clans video content!

In this episode I’m joined by returning guests Bazie of Reddit Heroes and Andy of Reddit Upsilon.  Both regularly do recaps for their clans and will talk about their creative choices, the benefits it gives their clans, the technical aspects of creating and publishing to YouTube with two very different set-ups and some of the thought process that goes into deciding what to include.

You can find both of their videos regularly published to our subreddit and the RCS discord.

At the end of the episode we also talk about balancing admin time effectively and compare and contrast Upsilon and Heroes which are two clans growing in very different ways with respect to increasing the family size and tackling entry into competitive tournaments.

Please join the 3 of us to Talk Clash and stay tuned for the rest of the episodes on content creation following this one!

Zag got sent to a workshop about the Shakespearean play King Henry V and applying its lessons in the modern workplace….instead we’ll take a look at how to apply them in your clan!

Let’s Talk Clash with one of the greatest inspirational speakers of the 1400s (as interpreted by Shakespeare) as we look at how he took the reigns in the “Clan” of England as a young king and new Leader and led them to war against France.

From Henry we will see the importance of getting the clan to work together, establishing ones self as leader and making sure rules are followed, on inspiring the clan in tough wars, and on the importance of preparing the clan…both for the individual battle and well in advance by structuring the clan and its resources to be well prepared for what you might face.  Finishing it off, we’ll look at how Henry was able to add France to his Clan Family in a way that made it feel beneficial to both sides.

Elocuencia of Reddit Hunters is one of THE highest energy persons I’ve met in the RCS!  He is a new leader as of earlier this year of Reddit Hunters and very quickly got involved with helping to moderate and grow global chat and in looking at ways to grow the RCS.

Elo and I talk clash about two topics:  The first is his transition to leader in Reddit Hunters where he had not been at all active in the RCS to suddenly becoming very active and bringing a lot of Hunters “into the light” of interacting with the RCS!  Included is the process of becoming a leader behind the scenes, and his own discovery of what it meant for him in Hunters, and the discussion of what Hunters atmosphere really is that he hopes to maintain or shape going forward.

Second we talk about the current RCS prospective process.  Elo has been helping to identify independent Reddit Clans who might be future members and look at those on our prospective list.  He talks about his rol [...]

This week I get to Talk Clash with the leader of Reddit Oak (and the RCS’s newest Council member!), TubaKid, and one of Oak’s oldest members, ProE Jockey!

Oak is one of the oldest clans in the Reddit System as the original “O.”  The original plan was to discuss the verification process, as Oak was the first clan verified (or reverified) after the formation of the Council, but as Tuba pointed out: to discuss that, it also makes sense to talk about the deverification.  So, we’ll talk about Oak’s history, the RCS’s FairPlay policy and what it means, how deverification happened and also Oak’s decision and process to return to the RCS.  In the end, it has a lot to do with commitment to values, to one’s clan, and trust on both sides.

It’s a good insight into FairPlay, clan verification in the modern age, the process of leader transition from Pika to TubaKid, and also what the RCS has to offer [...]

This week I get to hound four of the Reddit Hounds.

The Burricane, JayForge, Civil, and Piney join me to talk about the many, many tournaments Hounds is involved in (CWL, RWT, NDL, and, through CrYpTiK VoiiD, MLCW) and how they got there.  Certainly Hounds (both on their own and via their family) is the RCS clan with the most tournaments and arranged wars in their ridiculously full schedule.

I also get to ask what all is up with the Hounds family clans TheBuckEyeGrove, CrYpTiK VoiiD, and Queens Gambit.

We talk clash about why they like being in the RCS and both what it gives to them and what they give to it.  We talk about how all these tournaments vary and why they like each.  We talk about how the family operates.  We talk about the history of Reddit Hounds and their daily operations, how they got to where they are, and also random things like Piney’s streams, why maxxed players enjoy the builders base, the constant recruiting struggle, the benefit [...]

Casey, leader of Reddit Rho, joins me with his coleaders mazz and OnExShOtxKiLeR to talk Clash about Reddit Rho!

Rho has quite the history and is currently composed of ex-members from Reddit Demons, old members of Reddit Rho and new members!  We discuss the past glory days of Rho and Demons, what it was like in the RWCS, the issues with merges and splits, and the reformation of Rho along with what brought them to want to reapply to the RCS.  We talk about how it’s going so far their first few weeks in the RCS and also their special random troops war that they are hosting this Thursday!

JerseyDiablo of Reddit Upsilon, aka Little Buddy of Reddit Jrs, joins us to talk clash about engineering in the game including what it’s like to face engineers, why people engineer, opinons about it and how engineering came to be in the first place.

He has experience on both sides of the equation - both in being leader of a competitive clan that has to face engineers at a disadvantage and of being the leader of a clan that’s “fun”gineered on his other account.

We will also discuss war weight management and how the matching algorithm and our understanding of it has evolved over time.

Let’s talk clash about engineers!

Hopefully back to normal episodes next weekend, but for this week, I’ve put together a collection of Clash of Clans dragon stories for anyone interested!

Like the older fairy tales, these are sometimes dark, some include death, and they aren’t all happy, so whether or not these are child appropriate is up to you, but maybe you’ll enjoy them anyway   All are clash inspired, at least roughly and originally told in Reddit Zulu in game chat.

Included in this set:

Fury Rising (4:50) - A tale of preparing a revenge attack following total devastation of the home village.

Spectre (14:10) - The tale of a dragon who answers the donate call and leaves the others in camp behind.

Gronk (15:33) - A goblin yearns to fly.

Brazos (17:28) - A barbarian decided to t [...]

This episode is all about Reddit Viper!  A bunch of the clan joined in to Talk Clash.

As the winners of the RCS War Tournment we talked about their experience with that and also discussed Reddit Viper’s journey to becoming the serious war clan they are currently, including the Potluck and CWL and how things are going for them right now.  Also, they told me about their reasons for leaving the RCS and plans for the future.

Best of luck to Reddit Viper going forward - we hope the RCS has served you well, but no doubt your adventure as an independant will continue!  May things shine for you as a clan and good luck out there!  Thanks for Talkin’ Clash and congrats on winning RWT Season 1!
