Start with the following:

Go to bed on time—prep before the morning.
Eat a healthy breakfast
Drink lots of water
Start your day reading the bible, praying, or journaling (Connecting to something outside of you)
Shoot a few grateful text messages (2-3)
Read Dream Big by Bob Goff
Say a prayer for your family and your kids at lunch
On the way home from work, don't think about the football game, think about what you will do with your kids.
Over dinner, no phones, and ask your kids (What made you smile today?) Or what was your favorite part of the day? Engage for real.
In the evening, ask your spouse about their day, and really listen (Listen means to hear the emotion, not the words).

Hitting this every day is not possible for me :D Yet strive to build the discipline to follow a routine like THIS for YOU.

There is so much to do in a day. There are so many pulling demands for our time and our energy. I have been working on how to do more with less time and I have been finding some interesting patterns emerge in my own life.

The biggest impact I can have on my time is what I spend it on. The closest example to time I can draw in my life is money. When you do not budget your money, you always seem to spend everything you have, but you are often left wondering, "What did I spend it on?".

You are in charge of your $$ and you should be in charge of how you spend your time. So spend it on what matters!

I have found that life has an illusion. There is an illusion that we can be "still" in life and that nothing occurs. That we can sit at a job we don't "love" and it will not hurt our career.

I have found that life has a cost to everything. We are either changing or growing, or we are becoming weaker. There is no way for us to sit still in the place that we are at. With every choice we make we are casting a vote towards the future we want to have.
