Welcome to Down to Earth, An Artist Residency Program presented by Capital Fringe.

Down to Earth’s purpose is to shine a light on the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and the Kenilworth area’s past, present, and future with a sharp focus on the climate emergency and its intersectionality with systemic racism.

Through Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall we will journey with the artists as they create their projects inspired by the area and its history; focus on community advocacy efforts; and grow their knowledge of their skill and environment. We invite you to follow along on this journey and participate in our discussions.

Through a diverse collection of media we’ll grapple with the PREPARATION, INCUBATION, and ILLUMINATION that comes along with creating a work. And We’ll EVALUATE our learning along with each artist as they FULFILL their creative vision for their community and environment.

This project is a creative partnership between Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, a proud partner of the National Park Service, Caandor Labs, and Capital Fringe.

Learn along with us, engage in the conversation and create new narratives for our future.

Join us as we journey, Down to Earth.
