So, if you've been pondering how to ensure your brand's vision, mission, and values are not just words on a page but a lived experience that threads through your products, offerings, and culture, this episode is tailored for you.

In today’s episode I sit down with my friend Melaney Lubey previously with DailyKarma (she's now an advisor and working at Amazon). It’s a chance for us to chat about the world of social entrepreneurship, trends and big ideas and planning a couple fun events or two. Melaney has been working in the non profit space for years, seeing it from many different angles and now gets to share her expertise as a leader in tech.

I was delighted to sit down with Saloni Doshi, CEO of EcoEnclose, a US-based sustainable packaging company to talk all things packaging materials and finding the best options for your products and the environment. Don’t create an amazing, purpose driven business only to fall flat on your face when it arrives in the mail in a plastic poly mailer! Building your brand means making good impressions and for ecommerce companies, this starts with your packaging!
Milena and I had a special bond when I found out her shop was based in the city I grew up in. While our memories of Oshawa are different, it was so interesting to hear more about her journey to opening their shop there and how they’ve stayed true to local manufacturing.
Milena is one half of the brother sister duo. Milena and her brother started Frere du Nord, combining their fine arts and engineering backgrounds. Frere du Nord is a fashion brand focused on creating sustainable luxury leisurewear that is ethically made and sourced. In 2019, FRÈRE DU NORD opened there new retail and manufacturing space in Oshawa, that allows customers to view how their clothes are made and allows them to be part of the process. I’m yet to see it in person but the pictures look amazing so I encourage you all to take a look!

Arka is a breath of fresh air for businesses looking for accessible and sustainable packaging. Phillip is certainly passionate leader as my first interaction with him he insisted on changing some of the recommendations Shopify’s blog had for sustainable packaging. I’m embarrassed to say that Uline made the cut so we quickly changed that! Phillip has positioned Arka to make sustainable packaging every business's first choice. You’ll hear more about some of the projects they are undertaking to make this kind of packaging even more accessible. You’ll also hear his thoughts on other exciting apps making sustainability possible and the types of materials you should be looking out for when starting your sustainable packaging journey.
