Sometimes traditional comfort food is needed. This mirning it was not my usual Italian or American reciped I went for but I revisited a memory from my childhood and made my grandmother's chilaquiles. Nothing but deliciois filling crunchy, and mildly spicy, goodness. Such a great way to start my day! Hope your day has a yummy start as well!

with everything that has happened in my life the last couple of months, I always have made the conscious decision to choose happiness. No matter what may be going on in my life I continue doing the things thst bring me joy such as taking my morning nature walk, gardening, cooking and mist if all creating.
I know the universe delivers at our feet what we want when we are ready. Even when times are hard there is so much more that I am grateful for and things always tend to fall into place quickly.
And that is the magic of choosing happiness.

After my dad's passing a project that should have taken three weeks ended up taking three months. Bad contractors, building material shortages due to Covid and my father's passing made this renovation in my home one of the toughest projects ever. Well, we are just about finished! The only thing left is the custom glass for my shower that will be delivered on Friday but other than that my room, bathroom and walk in closet are complete and today I finished putting everything back! What a relief! I am so happy to have a tiny bit of normalcy back in my life, I just wish I could've shared my finished project with my father. Here's a litlle video to share with you my renovations!

There are simple moments and things such as this that bring tears to my eyes. I sometimes wish I had a manicured garden but the reality is that probably will not happen as 100% of my lot is vegetables, herbs, a worm farm and chicken playground. Honestly though, I can’t regret one single thing. When I bring in baskets of fresh vegetables and eggs and see the smiles on my family’s face I wouldn’t change one thing!And always remember, if you see a lil bee away from her friends just laying down give them some sugar water or honey water and watch them fly away gratefully! They usually do a little dance of gratefulness around you and fly back to their hive mates. Maybe I should too do a little happy dance for my chickens and gardens to show how grateful I am for their gifts!

I thought Christmas would not make its way into my home this year. With my business being shut down due to the pandemic and my family and friends affected by the lockdown it saddened me to imagine all the empty seats around my dining table this holiday season. However, after a teary eyed moment I realized I am lucky to have so much to be grateful for. My chickens and vegetable and herb garden that keep our belly full, family and friends that are only a call or text away, a full pantry, my kids who still think I’m kinda cool lol and a tribe of senior puppies that keep me company. Also... your beautiful blogs that grace my feed and the kind comments and 💗’s left on my blog, thank you for this. I truly have so much to be grateful for! Happy Holidays everyone 🧁💕🎀🎄
