Modern Christians are stuck in the midst of a false dilemma, pretending to wrestle with the question of how God created the world. On one side the evolutionists revive the ancient, atomist philosophy of the Epicureans in the name of "science". On the other, Christians who have been in the same school of philosophy as the evolutionists falsely interpret the Scriptures, reading into them ideas that St. Augustine warned would come. In 2021, modern K-12 schools are obsolete. Thoughts of starting new schools lead us back to the first questions of goals and objectives--but few are asking these questions. Instead they are planning copy and re-brand obsolete schools that can't be maintained elsewhere. In this talk, Mr. William C. Many are deceived by all of the artificial test scores, report cards and certificates of modern schools and imagine that studying to pass a test or earn a diploma is real study. Where have all the Christian writers gone? For centuries, Christians dominated literature--Augustine, Boethius, Dante, Chaucer, Shakespeare, the list goes in and on. Today, they're nowhere to be found. Science and Math-based education has robbed the world of its great poets and writers. The virtuous pagans were known for their lives which modeled the four "classical" virtues of Temperance, Justice, Fortitude and Prudence. This, however, is not the virtue of the Christian life. Modern Christians, failing to attain to the classical virtues pretend to have Christian virtues instead, but this is a lie, since "Faith without works is useless.". In this talk, we meditate on the Christian virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity and see how they cause a Christian's life to surpass the standards of the virtuous pagans.

Dorothy Sayers? "Grammar" stage? "Logic" stage? "Rhetoric" stage? Where did this stuff come from? How did these ideas enter into CATHOLIC circles? In 1991 (not 1995 as said in the video), Doug Wilson's book "Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning", called for a "return" to the "lost method" of education based on ideas found in a lecture by Dorothy Sayers called "The Lost Tools of Learning". The Protestant movement, which spread among private schools and homeschools, was latched onto by Catholics who began spreading these ideas in Catholic circles. Catholics received all of this with no questions, no requests for historical proof, and ran with it, starting homeschool programs and schools, publishing books and study programs. They did so with no evidence that this was, in fact, true Catholic education and yet promoted it zealously among Catholics as "classical Catholic education"--a claim that is completely false. In this video, Mr. Michael explains this history and calls Catholics to examine these ideas and, after doing so, actually return to true classical Catholic education.
