I started this podcast ONE YEAR ago...I have interviewed some incredible women 51 of them have shared their amazing stories & inspired listeners that you can DO ANYTHING if you set your mind to it.
So it seemed fitting to end with my own story, of how I became a money making mother, my own struggles & motivation behind why I do what I do and how the podcast was born.
I hope you all take something from my final episode, I cannot thank you all enough for your ongoing support over this past year; but it is not the end...

Amber Kotrri a mother of two soon to be three owns House of Zana which began in 2018 after she couldn't find the right dress for a wedding she was attending, she wanted something unique, beautifully made and affordable. House of Zana was born after realising this would only be possible if she designed it herself and had it made.
A year later and ten stockists around the U.K she opened our first concept store in November 2019, located on the prestigious Grange Road, Darlington. Here we house over twenty local, emerging independent brands. The mission is to give start up brands the help and space they need to grow and Amber believes we are stronger together.

I'm Lauren, mother of two and I own and run a handmade baby and children’s clothing brand called Tiny Bubbles, I previously worked in education but after having my son decided I wanted to pursue my passion and turn what I enjoy into a business.
Emma king is a 31 year old plus-size model, Pageant queen, PR girl and mother. Emma has been modelling for ten years and also created her own anti-bullying campaign back in 2017. Emma works hard trying to empower other women and show every body is beautiful through fashion hauls on tik tok.

Single mum from pregnancy and former National PT Ambassador for Fitness First UK, Amanda has combined her experience in healing from trauma and her 12 years in the fitness industry to help people to embrace a trauma informed approach to looking after their mental and physical health.
Lea Turner crashed onto LinkedIn in October 2019 with no knowledge of the platform, but her vibrant, personable and uplifting posts drove countless leads and over 10,000 followers in her direction within the first two months. Since then, she has amassed nearly 90,000 followers and more than 850 inbound paying clients and grown her training business from nothing to six figures. Karen Wespieser MBE is a mum of 2 and one of the UK’s most recognized leaders on education policy and evaluation. With the data collected from these surveys, she was able to directly influence the education plans during the COVID pandemic deployed by the UK Government in 2021.

Alex is also in the final stages of study to become a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and has recently started penning the initial words of her book.

Charlotte graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in modern languages, but knew that she would prefer a career with numbers rather than words! Having then moved on to study for an AAT apprenticeship at a local accountancy firm, she quickly discovered that she had a talent for it and went on to study to be a Chartered Accountant.
Whilst working in practice, she discovered a passion for management accounts as this is where she could offer the most practical and proactive advice to clients. Then when she discovered Xero in 2013, she knew this would be a game-changer for the accountancy profession. While working as the accounting software coordinator for a top 40 accountancy practise, she enjoyed being at the forefront of the cloud accounting revolution. She then worked part-time whilst having her 2 children before starting Future Cloud with Francesca when her children were just 3 and 1.
Charlotte has always enjoyed dancing in her spare time and still likes to take part in ballet, tap and theatre classes.

I am Emma Burke 39 (eek nearly 40 years old) mother of 2 teenage boys and business owner.
I have been self-employed since I was 20. I trained as a veterinary nurse and still love being around animals to this day but when I met my husband who was a property developer I knew that I wanted to be my own boss. I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do except not work for anybody else. My husband said that his company was having difficulty finding reliable cleaning contractors who would do the work on time and return the keys etc so I started a cleaning company. Initially, this was just me in my car and a henry hoover doing the work myself although this quickly grew and I had approximately 60 members of staff. During the credit crunch of 2008, my husband lost his property development business and became personally bankrupt, the cleaning business was literally our lifeline putting food on the table, at this time I had a toddler and a newborn baby
We rebuilt his business together and I closed the cleaning company in 2012. We owned a building that had an empty shop front so I set up a baby goods agency, reselling used quality items and taking a fee, this was my first retail business. I later closed this when a really good tenant wanted to take the shop premise giving me the chance to have my weekends back with the boys rather than being in the shop.
I have continued to build my own property portfolio which I managed myself at the time.
In October 2016 the idea of Laceeze was born, my business partner Paula and I were at a football match where we saw a parent put an elastic band around a child's boot to stop the laces from coming undone! Paula went home and thought that there was potentially a business to be had Fast forward to today and we have a patented product which has sold over 50,000 pairs of bands, we created some additional clothing items and this has formed the brand "Defiance clothing" which is sportswear for kids that is useful (gloves, snoods, compressions etc)
My goal is to have a sports brand for children which is recognised globally.

For me, something like this is way way out of my comfort zone! Talking about myself and my achievements is something that doesn’t really come too easily to me.
But if we don’t do something that scares us, we don’t grow - that’s right isn’t it?
I’m Lauren, I’m 31, I have 2 beautiful babies Freddie who’s 6 and Betsy who is 2! My partner works away for long periods of time so most of the time it’s just me and the kids! I’m lucky enough to be able to work part-time in my law job alongside my real passion for my kid's clothing business - A Kids Collective.
Life is super busy and, like most mums, I am constantly on the go with something to fill every second of the day. Sometimes it can seem a lot and sometimes I’m sure we all feel overwhelmed and like we don’t know how we are going to get it all done - but we do!
My philosophy is to always try to focus on the positives and be grateful for the people you have around you. Not only are my babies the reason I work so hard, but they are also my inspiration behind and the reason I started my clothing brand. When they are older, and understand more I hope they look back and see that it is always possible to follow your dreams no matter what they may be and to overcome anything that may stand in your way or anyone tells you you ‘can’t’.

Hi, I am Frankie Cain, married, mother of one, owner of a hair and beauty salon which I share with my business partner and best friend Shaun. My husband works away so I spend half my time solo parenting. My mam died when I was a teenager but instilled a lot into me about having my own money, and that is something that is always stuck with me. I went into hospital to have my baby the day the first UK lockdown was announced so she is an original lockdown baby. I believe in using humour to get through the highs & lows of day-to-day life - but I am loving every moment of it!

I am Francesca co-founder of Future Cloud Accounting and founder of my local NYPsocial hang out group.
As a single mum of two and I decided 10 years ago that I wanted to create a better life for myself and my children, so I went back into education. I spent all my spare time studying and saving towards buying my own home. I had a passion for accountancy, so worked hard and focussed my efforts towards joining a top practice. As well as studying, I did some voluntary work in the industry in order to become as fully immersed in the industry as I could before being offered an amazing opportunity to work within a top local firm (after applying twice).
I graduated in 2014. All the hard work felt worth it.
I asked lots of questions and really challenged myself to learn all areas of the business. It was then that I was introduced to cloud-based accounting and realised that there was an opportunity to ‘make a change’ and move away from the ‘old school’ traditional methods of accounting. I made this my calling and began to work towards making that change myself.
I LOVE finding out about people. I question everything. I want to be friends with everyone and be involved in everything!!
I love a challenge and I love to challenge others too. I have made it a mission to help others succeed; yes I have made many mistakes in the past but I have learnt from these and really want to share those lessons with others.
I am a huge user of Social Media, I believe that sharing my business journey on Linked In, Twitter and Facebook has really helped towards my success story! #thejourneyisreal
My personal interests lie in the health and fitness industry. I strongly believe that every business owner should have a physical hobby. I am also a huge fan of grenade bars ha-ha.
I really believe I can change the world, change the way people think, especially in the accounting industry. I need people to know it’s not just a numbers game.
It’s been hard work getting to where I am today. My drive born out of wanting to create a better life for myself and my children. Having worked so hard to get here, I would like to inspire others that they can get to wherever they want to be, just like me.

Having my little boy whilst working in the mental world of corporate beauty was something, I thought I could handle. Missing many bath and bedtimes was a little harder than expected.
Then jumping into starting our own businesses, during a global pandemic and juggling motherhood, that was a whole different challenge.
Like many others, I have been so inspired by women who are go getters, who break down the stereotypical barriers that suddenly arrive when you give birth and achieve whatever it is that they want to achieve. If you can do it whilst always being a good, fair, kind person and a mom, then why not give it a go?

Hi, I am Jennie, I am a mortgage and protection advisor as well as being a full-time mummy to my Daughter Hollie! Jumping straight into it, my world fell apart when Hollie was diagnosed with Leukaemia at 8 weeks old, being a single parent & working has had its challenges but now I finally feel strong enough to talk about it; which in turn has allowed me to recover.

Okay, so Hey, I am Katie AKA... "The Modern Mum". I have 3 kids 9-year-old, 5-year-old, 4-year-old and one stepdaughter who is 15. I am 41 years young (literally still think I am 30) started menopause early 3 years ago, lost my Mum in 2019 after a short battle with cancer. I had been her carer for 6 years after she had a stroke which meant I never returned to “work” after having any of the kids and a year after Mums death, which was a horrible grieving period, COVID and a new puppy, I just decided to say that the heck and I and my mates decided to set up a clothing business, and HERE I AM!

I think of all the jobs I have, my career and businesses - the most rewarding and amazing job anyone can do and accomplish is being a good parent and embracing every little minute of it. My children give me complete purpose every morning they challenge me to want the most out of life; after all what better way to teach my kids work ethic and strive than showing them day in and day out. At times my life can be very stressful, emotional and challenging but when those days come I take a minute to pinch myself and remember how lucky I am. Some people would dream about my health, my job and my home and the love I’m surrounded with daily. So when I’m feeling sorry for my self I just stop and try to remember all the things I’m grateful for...

I never thought I’d be a single mum, I don’t suppose most people do.
But when the reality kicked in that I would be raising my daughter completely alone financially, practically and emotionally I didn’t have time to think about how hard it would be. I just had to get on with it.
I needed to keep a roof over our heads and put food on the table and so that’s what I’ve done for the last 14 years. There’s been hilarious times and Incredibly sad times and many mistakes made!
But I’ve learned from every single one and used it to make be stronger and more resilient. All without losing my immature sense of humour! This is a peek into how I see life as a working mum and what I’ve learned so far...

Our 2019 was incredible...our wedding day, honeymoon, a successful round of IVF and smashing our second year in business which we had built from nothing.
Our 2020 however (like most people’s) was a different story.
Find out how we dealt with lockdown, having our first baby in the peak of a global pandemic and shutting our business down indefinitely. It’s been a bumpy ride, but hopefully, we’re out the other side...

Where to start? Well, I’m a proud mum to 3 beautiful boys, Dax, Leo and Oska.
In 2015, my twin boys Oska and Leo were born extremely prematurely. Leo, my first twin sadly died in my arms at just 4 hours old after a brave fight in the neonatal unit. His arrival saved my life, and the life of his twin brother Oska.
Oska went on to spend 109 days in the neonatal unit, and as if that wasn’t enough, he really loved the hospital, he was admitted multiple times for life-saving treatment.
We all suffered, our mental health and our little family unit were shattered. Over the years we’ve managed to pull ourselves back together and Leo’s was set up. Since we launched the charity I’ve met the most amazing people, who have become the biggest extended family. Despite all the heartache of losing my son, I believe he’s sent me the most beautiful people to support me.

Gracie turns to me with a mouthful of coco pops, mum remember when you were miserable in that job and you didn’t have time to have breakfast with us?
That hits me hard, never will I take for granted something as little as sitting on school morning chatting to my kids whilst they eat their breakfast before I get to take them to school. I love that I’m there to walk them in on a morning and the first face they see in the playground when they leave.
Something so little which is denied a privilege to many and I can now count as one of my daily blessings.

Cancer isn’t a laughing matter.... but what if it could be? Diagnosed with incurable cancer and declining treatment to save my baby at the age of 32 was epically shite. But those were the cards I was dealt. That was in 2015 and I haven’t died yet. And as crap as it is, in some ways, cancer has given me a new lease of life and a load to laugh about. Who else spends 5 minutes every morning searching for their fake tit under the sofa? What have I learned from my experiences so far and how do I keep cracking on with the odds hugely stacked against me? Let me tell you....
