Warren Delling was a seasoned, experienced pastor when ministry and life were rocked by divorce. It was a long and difficult journey but he eventually found healing. This is part 1 of a 2 part series "Remembering Richard Reynolds".
Richard & Cecile Reynolds have two sons & we hear from both on this episode. Pastor Todd Reynolds is our pastor at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church. His brother Pastor Mike Reynolds live in Greenville, SC.
Richard was retired Police Chief of Kings Mountain Police Department where he served the community of Kings Mountain for over 30 years. After retiring from Kings Mountain Police Department, Richard continued to serve the citizens of Cleveland County as a deputy of the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department for 15 years.
Richard was a faithful member of the First Wesleyan Church of Kings Mountain. Richard's passion and friendships evolved around the Midway I and Midway II fishing lakes in Kings Mountain where he loved to fish. Most of all, Richard loved and served his family with all he could give.
Today the Puerto Rico SG Missions Team is busy with repairs & construction on a sister Wesleyan Church. The team is assisting Bethel Wesleyan Church from Rose Hill, NC on a project that began two years ago. It's a veteran team with Stan Sacks, Bob Beaver & Floyd Holmes. Take a listen!
In 1980 longtime pastor Dixon Wood retired and Shady Grove welcomed Pastor Don & Carol Milstead along with their children Ben & Corey. For eleven years their lives intertwined with the good people of Shady Grove for God's glory.
Pastor Don Milstead hired Margaret Gasperson as youth pastor in 1980. She and her husband George moved to Shady Grove and stayed twenty years. They made new friends, grew to know God better and serve Him better. Dan talks with George and Margaret about the hard times interspersed with laughter.
For more than 30 Years Pastor Dixon & Naomi Wood served our Shady Grove Wesleyan Church Family and the Colfax, NC community. Joan Wood Rampey was five years old when she moved to Shady Grove. She along with her four siblings called the parsonage on the east of of Bunker Hill Rd home. Joan joins us to celebrate 150 Years of Shady Grove.

Scott & Laura Bryson were married right out of college. Wooo hoo! College sweethearts headed full steam into life. Laura a public school teacher and Scott a Worship Pastor spent 15 years at Kannapolis First Wesleyan Church, NC. Now they are being welcomed to Shady Grove Wesleyan Church with Scott as the Worship Pastor and Laura bringing her musical talents. Their two children Amelia & Allester will taking Colfax, NC by storm! Get ready!

In 1997 Pastor Wes & Terry Brown were called to Shady Grove. What lay ahead of the church required leadership, unity and above all the blessings of God. The property on N. Bunker Hill Road had more than thirty decaying, dilapidated vacant buildings. Plans and decisions had to be made. Lighthearted at times, Pastor Wes & Terry recount their years when there was construction, destruction and dependence on the leading of God.
