We all felt the impact of the global pandemic and It is widely reported the impact it had on businesses but what is rarely mentioned is the impact on local charities like arc and especially the lifeblood of a self funded charity, fundraising.
arc relies on our excellent fundraising team to come up with ideas and organise fundraising initiatives, this became very difficult during the pandemic.
But the team didn't let that phase them and they decided that they would do something outdoors with the ability to stay socially distanced and ended up with a trip up Snowden to fundraise for arc.
In this episode two of the Snowden team Laurance Norman & Ian Hall talk through the experience further.

We often talk about mental health with an internal focus on the individual and whilst this is important we rarely talk about the outside influences and the role they play in our mental health especially on young people.
In this episode we are joined by Charles Hall and he explains the wider societal and environmental issues that effect young peoples mental health.

Hypnotherapy is often misunderstood, it isn't a stage show performance or a mystical tool. We all go into hypnotic trances naturally throughout our day to day lives, for example when you've driven a route you know really well and you get to the your destination without remembering the journey.
In this episode we are joined by Laura Culley of Laura Culley Hypnotherapy and she explains what hypnotherapy is how it works and how she helps her clients to overcome anxiety, panic attacks, phobias and self-doubt so that you can feel happier and more confident.

We spend a lot of time today curating and hiding away our flaws, over polishing the perceptions have of us through digital platforms, but what if we were to celebrate our flaws, discuss our difficulties and share our journey of how we got to where we are.
the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi is all about this the full definition below:
Kintsugi (金継ぎ, "golden joinery"), is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum.
As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.
Could you add some Kintsugi thinking in your life?

A focus on volunteering and community with Tania Young from the Friends of Arc shop.
We're trying to make it more of a community shop, not just a shop that is raising money for Ark, but also where people can come and feel welcomed. Occasionally I've had people come in a bit unhappy. You can see they're not happy for whatever reason. And hopefully they've gone out with a smile on their face or just had five minutes of something to take their mind off.
Whatever's bothering them. So I'm always very conscious of trying to be friendly in general. Um, full plans. We've got a lovely garden now, so hopefully we can organize some sorts of community gardening type workshop. It's still couldn't yet for ideas and suggestions. So we haven't actually made any plans as yet, but there's a lot of discussion going on and need some more development.
