In this episode I focus on distinguishing between 'thoughts' and 'thinking' and how this distinction impacts our daily lives.
Thinking is an active process of interpreting information based on past experiences and knowledge, creating subjective realities. Thoughts however are new ideas we receive from beyond our analytical minds that hold the potential for new exciting realities. Like clearing a runway for an inbound aircraft to land, we need to create mental space in order to receive thoughts.

What is it that you are meant to do? What activities do you do that bring out your spark from within?
We all know certain things that we enjoy doing. And when we find ourselves doing things we'd rather not, we tell ourselves that we have to do those things and have no choice. But the truth is that every activity we participate in, whether we enjoy it or not, we do have a choice. The difference is that some of our choices are extrinsically motivated while others are intrinsically motivated.
In today's episode, I'm going to share a powerful exercise that can help you identify and transform some of your extrinsically motivated activities into intrinsically motivated activities that you actually enjoy and look forward to.

We all know that we are the most vulnerable when we are stressed. Consequently, in these moments of weakness we all are more susceptible to making choices that self-sabotage our best intentions. HALT stands for Hungry, Angry, Lonely and Tired. These are not only the most common stressors, but also the most cognitively debilitating.
In today's episode I'll explore how the HALT method, which was originally created as part of Alcoholic Anonymous' renown 12-Step Principles of Recovery, can be effectively leveraged by anyone to avoid the adverse effects of the most common, pervasive and potentially destructive stressors that routinely impact us all.

Vulnerability is often wrongly associated with weakness. As something to be hidden from the world and sometimes even be ashamed of. The truth however is that allowing yourself to be vulnerable is simply admitting to yourself and others that you are a perfectly imperfect human being.

In today’s episode I’ll explore why hiding your vulnerabilities can make you less approachable and why being vulnerable is actual a powerful, opportunity-revealing ally there to assist you on your continuous journey towards growth and self-actualization.

When setting an ambitious, audacious goal, it's easy to feel from time to time that it's too lofty to achieve. Every time that doubt surfaces, focus, discipline and progress towards that goal will suffer. That's why it's important to continue to dig deep and to focus on leveling up a little each day. Like compound interest, a 5% improvement in your performance over yesterday, last week, or last month translates into exponential growth over time. Self reflecting, self evaluating (as opposed to self criticizing/judging), and then consistently making what may seem like negligible course corrections, skill upgrades, or efficiency improvements here and there are essential to catapult yourself towards your goals.
In this episode I will introduce several effective approaches that will help you achieve more by making small, simple tweaks to your daily routine. Remember, It's impossible to achieve the life that you truly want without upgrading the way you currently live.

Each new day brings with it new, often unforeseen challenges which can make it difficult to start striving for a meaningful new goal. What's more, your schedule seems to be overloaded for the foreseeable future with so many other "important" things. It can be tempting to postpone embarking on an exciting, potentially life-enriching journey because you don't know where to start, or because there's just too much else going on and it doesn't feel like the right time. The truth is, it's never the right time to shake things up for the sake of expanding your horizons, learning new skills, or committing to a major lifestyle change. The time to commit to taking the next step in your journey of continuous improvement is now.
There is no book of wisdom out there that is going to show you exactly how to manifest your greatness because your book has yet to be written. In this episode I will share why waiting for the perfect time is a recipe for regret, and why it is important to commit to a better version of yourself today.

Dr. J. experienced a beatific vision that transformed the way he viewed life, the universe, and mankind's place in it. A beatific vision as defined by the Catholic Church is “God, though transcendent, opens himself up to man and gives man the capacity to contemplate God in all His heavenly glory.” However, Dr. J is not Christian. His beatific vision revealed that the Holy Spirit is not only universal, meaning it's accessible to all regardless of religion, but also that it has 6 different increasing stages of manifestation.
In today's episode Dr J gives us a glimpse into The Living Christ Code, his first spiritual book that offers a new paradigm that can be described as practical, effective, and even mystical. Most importantly, this new paradigm and all of its transformational wonder is accessible to us all.

Whether we realize it or not, everyday we receive subtle messages from places like social circles, ad companies, and even business moguls telling us that we're not enough. That somehow, what we value and what we think is a meaningful and worthy pursuit is inconsequential. These influences can cause us to make career and lifestyle choices that we think are in our best interests. Once we are conciously aware of these influences however, we may discover that many of the decisions we are being persuaded to make are actually in their best interests, not ours.
In today's episode I will explain why it is so important that you don't discount the actions and pursuits that you consider valuable and what steps you can take to live your truth even when others aren't able to share your vision or your passion.

When you're faced with something unfamiliar or extremely difficult, the natural reaction may be for you to want to pull back. After all, voluntarily putting yourself through an experience that is likely to cause significant discomfort mentally and physically is not in our DNA. However, often times pushing forward through a complex, foreboding challenge is precisely what you need to do in order to achieve a major leap forward developmentally. Your mind will do its best to convince you that "it's impossible" or "I don't have the skills" or "I don't have the time", but it all comes down to taking the action that's going to move the needle for you the most. Unfortunately, taking that action in the moment instead of procrastinating or suddenly recalling other "important" things to do is not easy.
In this episode I will explain just how Robert Kiyosaki's (Rich Dad, Poor Dad) real life example from being a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and being required to literally push forward (on his helicopter's collective) when he wanted to pull back can be applied to how you show up in life when things can seem insurmountable.

Many of you have heard the famous Mark Twain quote “I've had a lot of worries in my life, most of which never happened." While the tendency for us to worry about unfavorable outcomes of situations may sound benign, it takes its toll on us in many ways we often don't realize.
In this episode, I will explain why constantly fearing the worst does not have to be your modus operandi for getting through the day. I will also share some simple steps you can take to significantly reduce the number of things you spend time worrying about so you can correspondingly reduce the adverse effects needless worrying has on your mental and physical health.

Most of us are familiar with the concepts of self love and self respect. At its essence, self love is about accepting and loving yourself for who you are while recognizing that you are perfectly imperfect. Self respect is about achieving unflappable self confidence married with an unwavering belief that you are putting in the work required to grow and excel with honor and dignity. What is often overlooked is that striving for self respect without without being squarely grounded in self love can leave you unfulfilled at its best and bitter or even resentful at its worst.
In today's episode I will explain why combining a lifestyle grounded firmly in self love with a growth mindset that incorporates self respect can be an extremely effective way to turbocharge your future growth and development.

In the Manifest Your GreatnessCoaching Program, I do a lot more than simply identify your potential challenges and direct you on how to overcome them. That would simply be treating the symptoms (your actions) instead of treating the causes (the beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and rules) prompting your actions. Plenty of gurus and “how-to” books out there claim to have the answers to every challenge under the sun. However, as you are likely aware, knowing how to accomplish something doesn’t mean you will actually follow through.
This is because the true cause of our most difficult challenges operate in our subconscious mind, and they express themselves as blind spots in our conscious awareness. How can we “see” a way forward if our conscious mind doesn’t know it exists? In order to remove your blind spots, you need to thoroughly understand how your inputs influence your view of the world. Only then can you start to chip away at the obstacles that keep you from seeing what has been there all along: a navigable path to what you truly desire.

If you've ever wondered why it is easier for you to find motivation towards some goals to do what needs to be done and not others, this is the episode for you.
In today's episode we will explore the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. At a high level, we want our motivation to be driven more from our own internal beliefs and values, and less from whimsical external influences. Where your goal lies on the extrinsic motivation hierarchy is highly correlated to how successful you will be in reaching that particular goal.
Motivation from within drives us to do what needs to be done with significantly less anxiety, stress and self-judgement. Once you understand the type of motivation you have towards a specific goal, then you can leverage your beliefs and values to ensure that motivation to do what needs to be done comes to you more naturally and more reliably.

The hedonic treadmill is a metaphor used to describe the tendency for people to seek one pleasure after another. Science has shown however that happiness gained from pleasures like purchasing a new product does not last for long. While occasionally splurging for "things" you really want can sometimes be temporarily therapeutic, lasting happiness is linked to fulfillment which can be achieved by honoring your values and living out your beliefs.
In this episode, we explore how to identify when you are trapped on the hedonic treadmill, and what actions you can take to stop you from running in place, and to put you back on the path towards growth, progress, and long term fulfillment.

By becoming aware of some of the masks we wear, we can better identify and address imposter syndrome. Addressing imposter syndrome can help us:
-Reduce anxiety & stress
-Immerse ourselves with out doubt and judgement
-Show up more as ourselves
-Identify new opportunities
-Acknowledge our strengths and accomplishments
-Connect with people more freely
-Improve our relationships
Today I will discuss 7 symptoms of Imposter Syndrome, the 5 imposter masks that we wear, and some empowering questions we can ask ourselves to reduce our reliance on wearing these masks. Yes, there are some times when we all must wear masks of some sort in order for a greater whole to function as intended. However, some of the masks we wear are not required. We think we need to wear them because of a story that we’ve told ourselves that has resulted in a rule that we live by. It's important that we examine these stories we tell ourselves because the less often we need to wear masks, the easier it is for us to discover our life’s purpose so we can share our gifts with the world more freely and more authentically.

There are 3 different ways we all approach the idea of "success" as we aim to reach our goals. One of the most common is the Have-Do-Be mindset. In this mindset we surmise that "When I HAVE more [time/money/energy/skill, etc..], then I'll do more [insert what you really want to do more of or start doing here], and the happier I'll BE." The other common mindset is the Do-Have-Be mindset. With this mindset, we believe "The more I DO, the more I'll HAVE, and the happier I'll BE."
There is however another mindset that is wildly different, and perhaps even a bit counter-intuitive at first glance called the Be-Do-Have mindset. For many, once understood, this mindset can be a much less stressful yet much more rewarding way to live.
In today's episode I'll contrast the 3, and dive into what makes the Be-Do-Have approach to success so fulfilling.

When we have a disagreement with someone we care about, attempting to ignore or shut them out only makes things worse. Resolving a disagreement requires having a conversation to better understand each other's differing perspectives. Our relationship with fear can be treated exactly the same way.
In this episode I'll explain how your fears can impart incredible wisdom. Fear has a perspective and in many cases, fear is trying to protect and support you the best way it knows how. But without inviting fear in for a conversation, the wisdom in that perspective gets ignored and in return all we are left with is the emotional and psychological discomfort it can cause.

In this episode I'll share how by just making a few small changes to the things you say - both to yourself and to others - can help empower you and those you care about to find ways to overcome challenging situations while simultaneously enjoying the process significantly more.

Maybe you’ve heard the old expression, “shooting yourself in the foot.” If so, then you understand the concept of self-defeating behaviors. Self-sabotage is when we say we want something and then we go about ensuring it doesn't happen. When we do something that ultimately hurts or thwarts us in some way, we are engaging in self-sabotage. By performing these destructive actions, we invite negative experiences and situations into our lives. However, self-sabotage is complicated because there’s usually some element of temporary relief, short-term payoff, or avoidance of something negative initially in the process.
In today's episode we will explore how to identify and overcome self-sabotaging behaviors, attitudes, and mindsets.

Today we are going to cover the third technique to help us identify and eliminate unnecessary complexities in our lives that do not benefit us on our journey towards growth and success. Technique number 3, Simplify Your Mental Landscape, is going to cover a literally mind blowing way we can start to make it easier for us to hone in our mental capacity on the activities in our lives that truly matter - working towards our self development goals for the benefit of ourselves and also just importantly continuing to develop ourselves for those around us.
As the martial arts icon and philosopher Bruce Lee once said, we must “empty our cup so it can be filled. We must become devoid to gain totality.” And to this end, simplifying our mental landscape is a key step towards preparing ourselves to acquire new knowledge, and to begin integrating this new knowledge in our daily life in the form of useful new skills.

Welcome to part 2 of our 3-part series where we are focusing on techniques we can use to simplify our lives and the enormous benefits we can gain from leveraging these techniques. These three techniques that can help us more efficiently and effectively reach our goals along our journey to manifest our greatness are:
Simplifying our daily routines
Simplifying our environment
Simplifying our mental landscape
In this installment, we are going to focus on technique number 2 - Simplifying our environment. This technique can be challenging because at first glance, it may seem counter intuitive. This is because society encourages us to enhance our daily lives by acquiring more things. When in actuality, more things typically lead to more distractions. Think about it. The more gadgets you have, the more gadgets you have to maintain. And the more items you surround yourself with the more time you’ll need to spend caring for them. Simplifying our environment allows us to free up both physical space and mental space. And to simplify our environment we need to identify and get rid of the non-essential things.

Have you ever been in chill mode and have a small fail suddenly surface that threatened to wreck your whole day? In this episode I share one of those events that I recently experienced, what I learned from it, and how I intend to use it help keep things in better perspective going forward.
We all have those moments when things suddenly get out of hand and you feel completely incompetent. What's important is that we recognize that everyone gets it wrong sometimes, we are all human, and we are not simply the sum of our results. While it's human nature to look for the negatives, we mustn't let them define us, and we must always remember all the great things that we've accomplished to this day, and keep focused on our intension to do many more great things going forward.

If we examine our true personal story, we can begin to understand that it’s not really you against the world. It’s you against your perception of the world. If you perceive that the world has no helpful tips, tricks or advice to offer you, then you just won’t notice them. This also means that what you think you can accomplish is actually not limited to just how hard you are willing to work for something because if you realize that you are surrounded by unnoticed opportunities, you can begin to quiet your mind and to hear all the helpful clues the universe is giving you.

In today's episode, we reference an excerpt from The Book of Joy, Book by 14th Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, and Douglas Carlton Abrams. The excerpt deals with the improbable story of Anthony Ray Hinton, a man that was arrested for a murder he did not commit because - according to the officers that arrested him - he was Black. Mr. Hinton spent 30 years on death row in a prison in Alabama until the Supreme Court finally released him. Instead of being angry and resentful of the 30 years of his life that were taken from him unjustly, Mr. Hinton forgave all the people that sent him to jail, and pointed out that "If I'm angry and unforgiving, then they would have taken the rest of my life."
This episode explores how forgiveness - even of terrible transgressions against us in the past - play such a critical role in how choose to fully participate in the present, and how we shape our future.

Today we're going to explore the inherent self-empowerment that comes from practicing self-love. Some people may think this has something to do with taking it easy on yourself but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Self-love is tough love because before you can practice true self love, you need to take an honest assessment of your current state of being and you need to mentally commit to taking yourself by the hand and leading yourself down a path that you may not want to go down, but that deep down you KNOW is the path that’s best for you.

I believe that we all want to BE something. After all we are human be-ings not human see-ings or human do-ings. We want to become what we believe we are meant to become. But the truth is, we already are what we want to become. We just haven’t fully manifested our full being-ness yet.
California’s Sequoia’s are the tallest trees in the world but they were already Sequoia’s when they first sprouted. They were still Sequoia’s when they grew to 10 feet tall. But inside the DNA of a 10 foot tall Sequoia tree is the potential to grow over 300 ft tall. They just aren’t that tall yet because they haven’t manifested their full potential.
And lucky for us, our potential isn’t just limited to size like a Sequoia. Our potential is limited only by our own imagination - our own thoughts and our willingness to take the actions necessary to move us toward that potential no matter how difficult it is, or how long it takes. And everyone’s greatness within is different. This is why Manifesting Your Greatness is a discovery process and a journey that is unique to you.
