Attention all personnel! Introducing our new commanding officer, Col. Sherman T. Potter! It’s out with the old and in with the new as Frank is kicked out of the CO position and Col. Potter is ushered in. After a bit of skepticism from the rest of the camp due to his “Regular Army” type nature, the 4077 quickly warms up to our new stand-in dad.

Hawkeye is appointed officer of the day by acting commanding officer Frank Burns, which means he’ll have to deal with all sorts of crazy things at the 4077, including Korean civilians seeking medical attention, some sticky-fingered kids, and Klinger making desperate escape attempts to Seoul. Oh yeah, and not to mention Col. Flagg showing up and wanting to execute a patient. This time, Frank wants to out a young gay soldier and get him a dishonorable discharge. Hawk and Trapp devise a scheme to stop Frank in his tracks and help the young man finish his tour of duty. Who will win in this battle of wits? Take a wild guess.

A sleep-deprived Hawkeye goes on a mission to find out the real reasons why they’re in Korea. His efforts include sending a telegram asking President Truman who’s responsible for the war and, on advice from Frank, attempting to give the North Koreans an unconventional peace offering.
Strap in folks, this is a heavy one. Despite repeated warnings to drop his crusade, Hawkeye is very outspoken about the army’s responsibility for a recent bombing of a Korean village. But Hawk underestimates just how far the military is willing to go to keep the story, and Hawkeye, quiet.

This episode is just like fool’s gold. It’s not the worst thing ever, but it is disappointing. After a few pranks go too far, Frank and Margaret put in to transfer out of the 4077th. Will they really leave the series so early on into its run? Or will some contrived nonsense get them to stay? Is this the lowest point of the series, like some of the cast and crew believe? Hard to say, but we did have a good time making fun of it, so that’s cool.

Hawkeye goes through a bit of an identity crisis when his patient isn’t recovering despite his best efforts. Is Hawkeye’s breakdown because he’s a good doctor, wanting the best for his patients, or is it all in service of his ego? Listen to find out! This one leans hard into classic medical drama!

We may need to take a trip to a MAS*H unit because we are sick of this episode! When a casualty-causing, battle-eager colonel is recovering at the 4077th, Hawkeye & Trapper plot to send him state-side by convincing him that he’s losing his grasp on reality! Gaslighting is so fun, isn’t it?
Here’s a little behind the scenes: This episode was a bit of a challenge to make. Our recording was originally about an hour long, but we performed extensive surgery on it to give you the best experience! We hope you enjoy.

Hawkeye is forced to take one for the team and go on a pity date with clumsy Nurse Eddie. He gets a few bruises along the way, but anything for sex, right?
