Ministers a Flame of Fire
The word for "flaming" here is Hebrew: lahat (H3857), to blaze or set on fire. The word is used of the flaming sword of the cherubim who guarded the way of the tree of life (Gen. 3:24); of the wicked being burned up at Armageddon (Mal. 4:1); of fire burning the wicked rebels in Israel (Ps. 106:18); of a flame burning up trees (Ps. 83:14; Joel 1:19); of hell fire punishing the wicked (Dt. 32:22); of bitter anger speaking forth (Ps. 57:4); of bitter anger in battle (Isa. 42:25); and of the fury of Satan (Job 41:21). It can be seen from these uses that God's ministers being a flame of fire means that they are to be so full of zeal and the anointing of the Spirit that nothing can stand before them (Jn. 2:17). Those in ministry are to have absolute authority and power over all the works of the devil (Mt. 18:18; Mk. 16:17-18 Lk. 10:19; 24:49; Jn. 14:12-15 Acts 1:4-8 1Cor. 4:20; 12:4-8) and represent God among men, as exemplified by Christ, the apostles and early believers.

6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
“Why do Christians call down the ‘fire of God’”? This was a question asked to me by Jesus. In the natural fire separates all the foreign and impure materials from gold, this is called refining. In the supernatural the fire of God brings forth genuine faith proved by trials, it exposes rewards men will have in the eternal kingdom, it exposes the genuineness of your faith. The “fire of God” releases praise, honor, and glory to our Father in heaven, it releases a love for God and an inexpressible joy. It allows for us to receive your salvation and reveal the rewards of heaven (Mt 16:27; 25:21, 23), though there is more, it increases your belief (Pt 1:8).

What we mean by Trinity is that there are three separate and distinct persons in the Godhead. Even though separate, they are one and have assigned tasks! There are many fallacies written about the Trinity, however why would God tell us that all invisible things are clearly seen by visible things on earth, even to His eternal power and Godhead (Rom. 1:20), if He is incomprehensible; if there is nothing on earth to resemble Him; if He is a bodiless being; if He is three beings in one being; if His image is only moral and spiritual; if descriptions of His body and physical parts are not true and real; and if He is an invisible nothingness floating in nowhere? If this is what God is, why did He not say this instead of what He did say? Is it possible that He does not speak to us in plain human language? Or, is it more reasonable that the church and false religions are in error and that God does mean what He says about Himself?

Kenosis, to self-empty. GK Kenoo, to make empty, neutralize, to deprive of force. Christ empties Himself and becomes endued with power by being filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus limited Himself, He retains His divine nature, but limited Himself to human attributes and powers during His time here on earth. Stepping out of heaven so that He could be a true example of a sinless human being overcoming sin and being anointed with he Spirit to defeat Satan. Jesus’ power comes by the Spirit, so does yours. You overcome by the power of the Spirit, by the word of your testimony, by the blood of the Lamb, not by your human attributes and physical power. Jesus proves to men that by the same Spirit baptism they could do His works and MORE, as He promised (Jn 14:12; Mk 16:15-20, Mt 18:18). What can these Scriptures mean if they cannot do what He says they can do?!

Today’s episode addresses the deity of Jesus, the LOGOS. He is the Word, yet the substance of a human, not impersonal, a person. He is the ideal vehicle to bring Jesus (Logos) to us. Think of Jesus as the active agent of creation, God “speaks” creation into existence. Jesus, resurrected, gives the church exousia (authority) to become children of light. From the Book of John 1:14:
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
The thing that cannot happen, happens! The Word becomes flesh! The absolute WORD (Spirit) becomes FLESH.
And looking at Jn 8:56 (…I AM) and comparing that to Judges 13 (The Angel of the Lord). The deity of Christ is seen in the Scriptures from beginning to end!

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” 37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” Acts 2:37-39 (NKJV).
How can this be possible? Man crucified the Lord and Christ, and yet by the name of Jesus sins are forgiven and the gift of the Holy Ghost is received. There are more titles given to Jesus (see Acts 3:13-15) that unfold here in the Book of Acts, words that “cutting to the heart” as these new believers preach, how can this be possible?
So why say all this? What is possible, and what has occurred, is power coming on to this newly born Church. Power in the name of Jesus, know that. Today’s church needs to understand this piece of the doctrine of Christ: The name of JESUS carries power and victory EVERYWHERE it goes.

Many false contenders have come along the way since the opening verse the first chapter in Genesis. India, Africa, Europe and the Americas all have moved down the road of foolishness stating, “there is no God.” It is foolishness to declare and try to believe there is no God. The Word of God also states in the book of Romans 1:19-25:
19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Demons are personalities. They have a voice (Mk 3:11), they can respond when spoken to (Mt 8:29), they have a sensibility to fear (Lk 8:31) and have an expression of desire (Mt 8:31).
Think of the intellectual property? God has thoughts, men have thoughts and Satan and his demons have thoughts. Thoughts become speech and ideas which bring forth actions. God knows the thoughts He has toward us, to have a future and a hope (Jer 29:11). Think of the influences! However, evil thoughts can become manifestos (Marx) and good thoughts can become constitutions (US founding fathers). Where the former believed that he forfeited heaven, his soul once belonged to God, but now is chosen for Hell. Furthermore, Kengor (2020) quotes Marx in his book, “Look now, my blood-dark sword shall stab unerringly within thy soul.… The hellish vapors rise and fill the brain, till I go mad and my heart is utterly changed. See the sword—the Prince of Darkness sold it to me. For he beats the time and gives the signs. Ever more boldly I play the dance of death.” —Karl Marx, “The Player,” 1841.
The good news, the best news is that God has a plan. His name is Jesus, the One and Only Son, the Resurrected King who covers the sins of the world; and by repentance and confession we all can enter into the Kingdom of God. It’s much greater plan and God’s plan will prevail.

Come into agreement with the Word that you are immoveable, seated with Christ in the heavens above and that you affirm the resurrection of Christ. Lastly, Abound in this work of the Lord, know that you will be rewarded (1 Cor 15:58)!

We start with the fall of Lucifer, who at the time had authority and power delegated from God. However, Lucifer’s rebellion causes his authority to be striped, yet still has power when cast down to the earth with a third of God’s angels.
The resurrection is key to understanding the power and authority we have been given as we follow Christ. Salvation, eternal life along with power and authority is all based on the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Jesus is the first fruit offering of Life, the whole of humanity will follow Him, as long as we trust and obey the Gospel message. Keep pressing in and be encouraged with the good new of the resurrection of Jesus, who gives us both power and authority to destroy the works of the devil.

And requested of him letters to the synagogues at Damascus [authorizing him], so that if he found any men or women belonging to the Way [of life as determined by faith in Jesus Christ], he might bring them bound [with chains] to Jerusalem (Acts 9j:1-2) AMP.
And as we come to see, Paul pins everything on the resurrection of Jesus!

To become the best, you must discover God’s challenge in the design for your life and “prepare yourself and arise” (Jer 1:17a). Webster’s 5th definition of the word challenge is, “to call out to duel or combat, to invite into competition.” If your life is looking like it’s in shambles, it’s because of the way you speak about yourself and others. Stop it. Today’s challenge is to find and discover the gift that God has placed in you. What can you do for hours that doesn’t seem like work to you? Take that one thing and lift it before the Lord and resist the push from others to be something else. Don’t be dismayed (shocked and appalled) when man doesn’t agree with you. What is the Creator telling you? “Prepare yourself and arise!”

And yet there are also those who are held in a lesser esteem like Reuben, Jacob’s eldest. And they listened to him until this word, and then they raised their voices and said, “Away with such a fellow from the earth, for he is not fit to live!” Then, as they cried out and tore off their clothes and threw dust into the air, the commander ordered him to be brought into the barracks, and said that he should be examined under scourging, so that he might know why they shouted so against him. And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said to the centurion who stood by, “Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and uncondemned?” (Acts 22:22-25) NKJV.
Don’t’ miss this, in flogging [scourging], a whip of thongs—either knotted cords or wire having bristled ends, sometimes strung with knucklebones or lead pellets—was applied repeatedly to the back of a person positioned on the floor, at a pillar, or suspended from the ceiling. The person was stretched out with bound arms secured so he could not deflect the blows.
So, as the soldiers were stretching Paul out with thongs about his wrists to secure him for scourging, he asked a question of the centurion: “Is it legal for you to whip a Roman citizen who hasn’t even been tried?” (22:25).
We have a dual citizenship, one part of us is of earth and nation and the other is of being a citizen of heaven. Dr Nichols examines and asks the question as to why Paul doesn’t make his claim as being a citizen of heaven, rather he states he was “born a citizen” (Acts 22:28). Whatever happened to the idea of government officials as “public servants”? Where is the accountability in today’s government? And what of us? We too need to always know our place as opportunities arise. Let’s be accountable to what we’ve been given, amen!

Worldviews change under our own crucifixion, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus changes the way we see things and how we move forward with the Dove (Holy Spirit). “As your cross, so will your Pentecost be.” Why do people avoid Pentecost? We shouldn’t be living in a partial surrender before Jesus, and a partial filling of the Holy Spirit. 1 John says, “But you have an anointing from the Holy One…” (1 Jn 2:20a). The “unbelieving believers” need a renewal! They must come forward and surrender before the cross, surrender is not just a one-shot deal, repentance brings life to dead believers as well! We are filled to the extent that we are emptied. If you still have some boulders in your life, you’ll need to surrender them, go to Jesus, He’ll meet you there at the cross.

The Current Crisis
Today we will look at the current crisis in Church today. We know that the Gospel can complete ALL that it says it will accomplish. However, if the church becomes powerless what can be done? The crisis is not about educational resources, or the ability to put trained people in the field. It is a crisis of power and the ability to back up the simple claims of the Gospel. The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16,17). The core of the Gospel message is the claim that Jesus has the power to change darkness into light, change death into life. This power is the ability of the Holy Spirit to change the life of a sinner, bringing the person into an experience called conversion.

Acts 2:17, God says, He will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh. And we do see His Spirit being poured out. Today’s episode we are off to LA’s Azusa Street in the early 1900’s. What can one man do? Frank Bartleman, was a man burdened by the Spirit to get people to pray and intercede for revival. Bartleman also sent multiple letters to Evan Roberts of the Welsh Revival (1904-1905), and truly travailed for the salvation of the lost. Churches that were travailing and ‘anticipating wonderful things’, were found in Bartleman’s site, places like Joseph Smale’s First Baptist Church in Los Angeles. California was a melting pot of culture, a place where son’s and daughter’s and the young and old did received the Spirit of God upon their flesh. Much went on behind the scenes before the outpouring of Azusa Street.

There is a doctrinal teaching in this present age that miracles, signs and wonders are no longer practiced by the believers in Jesus Christ. We’ll explore these first acts of the disciples, then witness what happened to the 70 that were sent out in Lk 10. Some believe that these miraculous gifts came to an end at the close of the 1st century. Our research shows that Justin Martyr, Igneous and Origen each experienced these spiritual gifts. The word “cessationism” may be new to some of you. It has nothing to do with the decision of the South in the nineteenth century to secede from the North! That is “secessionism,” not “cessationism”. Cessationists don’t deny that “miracles” may still occur by the sovereign will of God (well, some do). But they do deny that God imparts “miraculous gifts” to individuals within the body of Christ. The alleged “cessation” of such gifts as prophecy, speaking in tongues, the interpretation of tongues, healing, miracles, word of wisdom, word of knowledge, and the discerning of spirits, is a view embraced widely in the evangelical community, although, for obvious reasons, we sense that its popularity is beginning to wane. Dr Nichols gives his testimony and these wondrous works exhibited in other nations of the world! Yes Virginia, there is a Holy Ghost and those born blind can receive their sight! Hallelujah!

Jezebel in the Book of Revelation was not a real prophetess, but a false one with loud claims and loose living. How could such a woman have so much shrewdness and sex-appeal as to lead astray the servants of God in that church? In Revelation chapter two, we see the church tolerating many things, however, Jezebel, whose primary object was sexual immorality and teaching and leading others astray including “eating food sacrificed to idols.” Had the church become too much involved with her to handle the heresy? 1 Kings 19
There is a small still Voice in every believer’s life. We see today that Elijah must press on through difficulties, to intercede on the behalf of the nation of Israel, even though they have fallen in the throws of Baal worship. Elijah is learning to praying until that which was spoken and heard in the supernatural comes to pass in the natural. The role of prophet encompasses the release of the prophetic word, believing for the advancement of that word and interceding until that word breaks through into the natural. In this case, Elijah hears the “sound of abundance of rain” (1 Ki 19:41), exactly what is needed to end a three- and half-year long drought. We also notice the drought did not end with Elijah killing the 850 prophets of Baal and calling down fire from heaven! It ends by pressing into intercession, by believing and praying the drought ends. And get this, it’s not over, Elijah then ends up on the run, Jezebel threatens his life, and he goes into hiding. Elijah wants to end his own life! But the Lord finds him in a cave, and he is encouraged by the Lord to complete that which was planted in him; God reveals Himself not in earthquakes, wind and fire, but He speaks to him in a delicate, whispering voice. Elijah returns to the wilderness encouraged, he is holding three more assignments involving the kings of two nations and the name of man who will be his own replacement.

We have these promises from our Lord, let’s keep our God given birthright into His Kingdom by the blood of Jesus and keep the Kingdom of God on display for all the world to see! Essential hypertension (50.4%), disorders of lipid metabolism (49.4%), and obesity (33.0%) were the most common. We are finding ourselves in troubled times, just who can we trust? Know this: There are two kinds of fear, the reverential and worshipful fear of God that brings forth a fountain of life and fear that has to do with punishment, sickness and disease, fear associated with death and dying.
In Psalm 23:4-6
“Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me… Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life…” Do we really believe these words to be true today?
And in Proverbs 14:25-27
A truthful witness saves lives, but a deceitful witness speaks lies [and endangers lives]. In the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children shall always have a place of refuge. Reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death. [John 4:10, 14.]

We will also look at the apocalyptic genre in this episode by look first at the book of Daniel then off to the Revelation of Jesus Christ, the revelation of the purposes of God. There are different forms of writing in the Scriptures. The Word of God isn’t limited to only wisdom and poetry, but also to a historical narrative seen in I & II Chronicles and I & II Kings and the Book of Acts. Even the Gospels are viewed as a genre. Paul’s letters are called epistles and Isaiah would be called a prophetic genre. When we open the Bible, we should know whether we are reading a gospel passage, a prophecy, a Psalm, or an epistle. We do not expect Isaiah to lay out the details of the history of Israel as do the books of Kings and Chronicles. We should know when we are studying a Psalm that the forms of a poem or song will help us understand the meaning. And when we read 1 Corinthians we know we are listening to one side of a two-sided conversation. So, come along for the discussion as Dr Nichols teaches us about literary genres.

Every word and every statement have context. Context is comprised of the immediate context (word or phrase), then the surrounding context (chapters and books), and location of the text – whether it is found in the Old Testament or New Testament. What about the apocalyptic writing where visions come into play? Additionally, context within Christian theology, although used sparingly, determines the intended meaning of any part of Scripture. Dr Nichols will walk us through a couple of example passages and show us some surprising context in relation to the “kingdom” in Acts 1:6.

“I didn’t know that the Word of God meant that!” Well, in most or some cases, it does not! What is an allegory? Reading passages in the Word causes us to come to conclusions, but a passage cannot mean 20 different things, to 20 different people! But there is an intent of the Author (Holy Spirit) and the inspired author as to what is being addressed. Today we look at the parable of the Good Samaritan beginning in Luke 10:25. The setup of this passage is, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven?” The Kingdom of Heaven is the context of the parable. We’ll look at the history of this allegory through the eyes of Origen, Augustine and Luther. But what is Jesus telling us beyond the static of those that came before us? Also, who is your neighbor?

Interpretation (Part 2)
Is a “logos word” better than a “rhema word”? Are there superior words, as in the form of importance, in the Bible? What is the foundation of these two words, and which carries more weight? When hearing from the Lord we should not place our doctrine on the difference between certain words like “logos” and “rhema.”
We’ll investigate from the Greek text found in Acts 10:44 to examine both logos and rhema, how are they used? Often, we here that there is only one word in the Greek or Aramaic that can describe something, is that true? Listener, we certainly do hear from God and as sons and daughters, we know He does communicate with us!
Consider this, what do we do with the (4) words, agape, eros, philia and storge, that are used to describe the word love in the Scriptures? Perhaps you have heard it said that agape love is the highest form of love. Come along with us, as we examine 1 John 4:18-19 and see what Jesus said when He spoke to Peter regarding love.

The driver, being her brother, gave testimony to a church service on Pentecost Sunday (2021) where the church prayed to receive the Holy Ghost and the evidence of speaking in tongues. Her faith rose up, and her brother prayed for her to receive, as she asked and knew there was more - she was baptized in the Holy Ghost with the Evidence of speaking in tongues!

One of the great lessons out of the Korean revival is to wait upon the Lord and allow Him to move while His people pray. It is true that many wonderful things came out of this revival, churches, hospitals, and universities. INDIA – The Mukti Revival & Pandita Ramabai
Pandita Ramabai, a Sanskrit scholar from Calcutta, travels to England to teach and is converted to Christianity. She then sets her sight on American to further her studies.
Ramabai taught Sanskrit in England beginning in 1883. While in England she converted to Christianity and was baptized in the latter part of 1883 and subsequently traveled to the United States to study. In 1889 she returned to India and began her social reform work, initially focusing on the education of girls and widows. By 1905 Ramabai had the responsibility of over 2,000 people who were living at the Mukti Mission. That ministry is still in existence today.
At 3:30 a.m. on June 29, 1905, Minnie Abrams, the American missionary working at Mukti, was awakened by a dorm supervisor with the news that one of the senior girls had suddenly awakened “with the fire coming down on her.” The supervisor related how she had seen the fire, ran across the room for a pail of water, and was about to pour it on the girl when she discovered she was not on fire—it was a manifestation of the Holy Spirit, like what is found in Acts 2:3.

Evan Roberts – Welsh Revival
Evan Roberts pointed to four conditions of blessings during the Welsh revival: Confessing all known sin, searching out secret and doubtful things, confess the Lord Jesus openly, and pledge immediate obedience to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Evans becomes burdened for revival, praying and leading, though many wonderful things were happening all around him, he was given to depression. But what we don’t see Evans doing is resting in the Lord, there is a burden and a weight in ministry. Hebrews 4 tells us that even God rested! So, who are you? Men need to finish well, all to often we see those in the limelight not finishing well. But be encouraged, with rest it is possible for the people of God. The apostles and many, many others do finish this race well. Bless you, Christian… be strong in the Lord.

Judges 20-21
War is waged against the tribe of Benjamin for a horrific act that was carried out in Gibeah, the rape and murder of a young concubine. All who heard said there was no such deed done or seen from the day that the Israelites came up out of the land of Egypt to this day! All of Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, along with all the leaders of the people, and of all the people stood united in going up against the tribe of Benjamin. In the confrontation, Benjamin doesn’t surrender their offenders, instead they chose to fight and defend their tribesmen. Also, Doc explains who the “Sons of Belial” are, a worthless and wicked, evilness identified with Satan; actually, it’s personification of all that is evil, still in existence today. The battle is waged three times, the first two defeats are handed to Israel, but they do not walk away, they humble themselves before the Lord. Through praying and fasting, by seeking the Lord as they were taught by Moses and the law, they are given the victory. We also discuss the oath taken by Israel in chapter 21 of Judges pertaining to the remnant of Benjamin.

“In those days there was no king in Israel…” (Judges 18:1). One could say today that everyone’s doing what is right in their own eyes… sounds like America today, right? Israel is still under the bondage and tyranny of the Philistines. A deliverer is on the way, Manoah’s son, Samson, is coming of age. Philistine’s cruel and oppressive rule over Israel is due to their wandering disobedience to the Lord. Today, as Christians, we can see the work of tyranny in the natural and understand that it exists in the spiritual world as well. With Tyranny comes trouble. Samson’s demonstration of power when the Spirit of the Lord comes upon him is remarkable, a lion is torn limb from limb. In the account of Judges 14, we see Samson is not perfect, but this does not limit God. God will use the imperfect to accomplish His task. Also, Dr. Nichols gives an account from an African crusade where a witch doctor comes to salvation. Tyrannical rule can be broken in a moment’s notice. It can happen within a person’s life, on a personal level, in families and within nations when the King of Glory enters the room!

When has God had enough? From the text in Judges 10, we can see the compounding effects of worshiping other Gods. Not only did Israel worship the Baals and Asthoreths, but the gods of Syria, Sidon, Moab, Ammon and the Philistines. The price of war, distress and oppression becoming greater against Israel. Israel falls, they are sold into the hands of the Philistines for 18 years, becoming severely distressed! God raises up a man, Jephthah, a “mighty man of valor.” But the outcome of the promise he makes before the Lord to acquire victory over Israel’s enemies comes at a high price. How many promises have you made before the Lord? Have you kept them? Spoken words are very powerful, we must not lose our fear of the Lord.
