Shannon Hurley from Uganda was here this week. I share a few takeaways from that. A.I. wrote us a song and we'll talk about some dangers coming from that space, and wrapping up a 4-month study in Philippians with Men of Grace. My 50th birthday! Here are my 3 most valuable life lessons I would want to share with you.
One last quick touch on the subject of the source of evil. It's not a thing, it's not passive, and it HAS a point! The goodness of God.
If God is good and created all things good, where did sin and evil come from? It's not as hard of a problem as you might think. Let's go back and think about what God is like and see if we can come up with an answer to who created sin and evil.
Philippians 2:10-11 we see Christ glorified by God and it just hits me that Jesus is SO much more than a good teacher/prophet/etc. He is the KING of kings and LORD of lords and above all things! HE is the hinge that the whole universe hangs on!
Just this one adjustment to your perspective will change your life SO dramatically and eternally!
It's been a busy time of men's ministry! I'm SO excited about what has been happening! Let me just give you a quick update and something that I hope will encourage you in your spiritual life.

In light of Chapter 3 teaching us how to battle sin, our failures can easily cause us to feel beat up and possibly even doubt that God has or would save a sinner like me. That's why the Assurance of Forgiveness is so crucial in the process of sanctification! We must rest in the promises of God as we confess our sins. By the way, what is confession, and how are we to confess our sins? We will cover that in this chapter.
Can you have victory over sin? Yes! In this chapter, we talk about how God's word the Bible says we can have victory over sin and why we should want to!

Our son is getting married today. Thoughts of how marriage is an image of Christ and the Church. Matthew 22, Matthew 25, Ephesians 5 , 1 Corinthians, Revelation 19. This is the raw and unedited version in our busy home as we prepare for the day. I just woke up and these are the thoughts on my mind this moring.
Let me share with you why the red cardinal in your back yard is NOT your loved one. The truth is much more important than this idea.

We are dedicating the month of February to "The Love of God". In this first episode, we talk about one BIG way God shows His love for us.
In September 2012 I was given the opportunity to fill in at a friend's church in Great Bend, Kansas. What would you do in your last 24 hours of life? Especially in that LAST hour? As we watch a dear friend prepare to pass to glory, it has been encouraging to our family. We learn to hold this life loosely. To live is Christ, to die is gain.
Are there little sins? Minor infractons? How does God view these "venial" sins? Lets explore that.

Our Church service today with Pastor Bart was SO good! He preached Colossians 3:9-11. It moves me along in my recent thoughts about Temptation vs Indwelling Sin, Sanctification and it's hows and whys.
We might lack victory over sin because we have a wrong view of what temptation is and what it ISN'T!
In ALL things God is glorifying Himself. He is creating worshipers. The overflow of the Christian life is calling others to come and worship Him. Let's talk about it.

This is BIG... Here are my "Aha" or "Light Bulb" moments from 2022's study of God's Word that I will carry into 2023.
Just a quick 7 minutes of thanks to the Lord for His goodness. Consider what is says about GOD that He gave us His Son!
It may seem some Christians are judgy and hateful, but could it be that they actually LOVE you? Who else would say the hard things you don't want to hear? Anyone can feed you something you will accept and sell you a book and take your donations. A Christian who loves God and loves truth and loves you will say the hard things that will save you from yourself...and from God.
All right believers, let's have a quick meeting. It has come to our attention that our words have lost some weight. Let's regain what we have lost and refocus on our mission.

A little plug for a GREAT book that has just slayed me! "Loving Your Wife as Christ Loves the Church" by Larry E. McCall with a foreword by Tedd Tripp. This episode is for the man who knows he falls short of the man he should be for his wife and kids. Men in the church, we can do better. Men outside of the church, there IS something better. We BOTH can BE and DO better... but only in Christ. Let me 'splain.
Temptation vs tests vs trials. "Lead us not into TEMPTATION but deliver us from the evil one" Do you think the word "temptation" means an inward struggle with sin? In that case, did Jesus have an inward struggle with sin? Hebrews 4:15 says He was "tempted" in all ways as we are yet without sin. Is this about an inward struggle with sin? Let me try to help clear this up for you. It will help us and it will glorify Jesus.
Kansan's vote to allow abortion. Christians may be tempted to be disheartened, but remember this.

Just a quick brain dump of the things I am thinking about and want to share. In this episode I mention the Truth Matters conference and Ken Ham's presentation. Go find that on YouTube. Short and worth the view!!! Also check out his book Creation to Babel. We are really enjoying it!

We continue on how we can know GOD, what to watch for and an illustration about how His perfect Holiness and Justice work with His merciful lovingkindness in regards to how He deals with sin.
No matter what you call God, do all roads lead to Him? How does God value sincerity vs theology? Does it all just feel overwhelming so you just do your best to be a decent human being living as well as you can hoping that God will honor your effort? We can't wait to let God sort it out in the end. There are serious implications and we MUST sort this out now. Here's the truth about knowing GOD as we begin a new series on knowing God, how He reveals Himself to us, knowing His will for our life and what that means to us as we submit to His will.
