The Fake Imposter and Whiffle Ball Tony talk all things Fantasy Football, the NFL, their connection and why you should care as a Fantasy owner. A small sample to pique your interest? Most Fantasy owners focus all their attention on players. which gives them a [false] feeling of confidence. Everyone has seen these types of owners in their league. They're easy to spot as they jump, headfirst, into the shallow end the draft.
A little-known secret? [In a whisper...] Knowing the NFL schedule is more important than how youfeel about a certain player. Who's a better Quarterback, Lamar Jackson or Jalen Hurts? Right. However, Jackson is only projected to have 36 more fantasy points than Hurts. Not only that, the Ravens have the second toughest schedule this season while the Eagles have the easiest?
Did you know that? Bet you didn't.
Scott visits The Fake Imposter once again, this time to discuss Fantasy Football. Where did we think the conversation would go? Honestly, right where it went. Although neither of us expected the conversation to include quotes from Casino, tin can telephones or podcast curfews. Winning a parlay that consisted of those three thing would have been Against the Odds.
Finally the long awaited Seattle Sounders vs. Portland Timber podcast has arrived. This podcast is so disheveled and so hard to follow. Reason being? I wanted to provide you with an audio only version of what it's like to watch an MLS match. As a service to you, I was able too demonstrate this in a little over twenty minutes. You're welcome.

A short time ago, in a city we already live in...
My stepson, Noah, and I recorded a podcast while taking Radar to the dog groomer. Radar is a dog. Noah is a person. Noah is a huge fan of Star Wars whilst I am a huge fan of the first three Star Wars movies. When I say the first three I mean the first three released not the first three movies which were the second three to be released and whose stories occur before the second three films which were released before the second three which are actually the first three.
I was happy, content, until out of nowhere, Disney re-released the movie, replacing Simba's pouncing lesson scene with Zazu singing the morning report to Mufasa.*

The Fake Imposter, performing his due diligence, went looking for data to support this MLS match, preview episode. In what could only be described as a teachable moment, The Fake Imposter uncovered empirical evidence affirming everything he has thought and said about Major League Soccer. Was he surprised? Absolutely. But only in the method, the conduit, by which the message was delivered.

Sidney returns to the podcast and flips the script on The Fake Imposter. During her first visit she asked to provide the definitions of Gen Z words, terms and phrases. This time around, the lexicon of her generation was presented to The Fake Imposter who then had to guess what the words meant. Bassfonn, yardsammich, backwardsparade, glipround, upsidedizzer, eggfuold and spoonsharpener were not included because they aren't words. And before I forget, to help give you a frame of reference, if the Pee Wee Herman and the Hokey Pokey had a baby, that would be the Shuffle Dance. (Minus Paul Reubens and singing the instructions, of course.)
Getting an early jump on the English Premier Season, The Fake Imposter discusses comments made by former player, turned talking head, Nedum Onuoha. Onuoha, once a member of Manchester United’s crosstown rival, it’s hard not to notice the bias in his words. Having played int he Premier League (sort of) as well the EFL Championship, Onuoha provides a unique, albeit limited, insider’s perspective to his commentary. His playing career being what it was, I would venture a guess that most people hadn’t heard of him until he falsely accused Zlatan Ibrahimović of threatening to purposely injure him during an MLS match. What am I saying? People never heard of him. He was playing for Real Salt Lake. In the MLS. April 2019 had much bigger events than one of soccer’s best trash-talkers embarrassing old “what’s his name.” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle created an Instagram account. Lil Nas X released the “Old Town Road” remix for goodness’ sake. (He got the horses in the back.)
A review of the documentary, Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain, from two different perspectives. The Fake Imposter, a longtime fan of the New York Chef, having followed his career, read his books and watched his shows. And Jay, who knew who Anthony Bourdain was and how he made a living, but not much more past that. A serious discussion about the film and how it portrayed Bourdain, both of us walking away with a deeper appreciation of the man referred to as Tony by those closest to him. (With a little humor thrown in as you all have come to expect.)

Welcome back my friends to the topic that never ends. Great guys and even better dudes who have two different names, Scott and Ryan, join The Fake Imposter to talk while being recorded. Welcome to the 25th episode of The Fake Imposter, an episode so jumbled you could call it jambalaya. Nope. That doesn't make sense. Jumbled and jambled have very different definitions. As a matter of possibly, jambled might not even be a word. Then there's jimble-jamble but that has to do with clown parts and sends the wrong message entirely.

The Fake Imposter quizzes his number two son about math day one of the Euros. Humor unedited and unfiltered, the discussion inevitably veers off course. Jokic, the MVP. The disappointing Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche. The Columbus Crew, or whatever. The origin of Cambadon and a quick Friends reference. Reagyn even makes an appearance, though you can't see her. It's a podcast. Duh.
An unexpected guest joins The Fake Imposter and Jay, shares her views on the show Friends and how at first she liked the show. Which then turned into love. What if social media was available back then? The difference between how the Friends went about their coffee fix and how different it is for her. And why in the world is Grey's Anatomy still on the air?
The Fake Imposter welcomes Jay back to discuss the Friends Reunion, he loved it and I hadn't seen it. (Still haven't.) As you might imagine, a discussion about the show itself ensues. And other shows. Law & Order. MAS*H. Cheers. Star Trek. Then back to Friends. The show is abruptly halted as an unexpected guest walks into the studio and we decide to make a part two, releasing later this week. It's must listen! I'm not saying part two is better, it just comes after part one.
Take a breath. Try to calm down. You need to understand the one soccer match, although a win, against Mexico is not a proper barometer to gauge the future of the USMNT. Pundits from here to there have over-exaggerated how well the team performed and have overinflated the match's importance. This is the main, the only, reason why I watched the match. To better comprehend the totality of the complete overreaction from the US sports media. Sad thing is? Had they lost the response this morning wouldn't have been much different.
As promised, Tom, (a.k.a. Whiffle Ball Tony) returns to the podcast to wax poetic and offer up his insights to the series so far. He provides feedback to the first three Soccer in America episodes, expounding on a few of the points made and offering his own takes. It’s an informative, humorous and entertaining episode that’s well worth your time. If for no other reason than The Fake Imposter is unapologetic and unafraid, pushing the boundaries and opening Pandora’s box, pushing forward, unwilling to retreat.

An article posted to ESPN comparing Major League Soccer (MLS) to the English Premier League (EPL), tries to convince readers that:
- The idea of a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) is a good idea
- VAR works to the point where it meets, even exceeds, expectations
- MLS utilizes VAR so well that the EPL could learn a thing or two from them
In the fourth edition of our special series, "Soccer in America" we dissect this article and its main points, We debunk the idea that VAR is a useful tool and makes the game better. We share examples of where VAR has failed to support the "spirit of the game." And what is the definition of the term, "clear and obvious."
Whiffle Ball Tony (Tom), friend of the podcast, returns tomorrow to share his thoughts on the MLS, the EPL, VAR and soccer in general. He shared with me privately, after listening to the first three episodes, that my takes on the MLS was a bloodbath.
