Mixed Month is a month long workshop series in October 2020 created by Mixed@Berkeley. Join us to learn something new!
This podcast aims to take a deeper look at the racist and sexist history of gynecology and obstetrics in order to call for much needed overhaul of the still racist practices used today. These blaring issues are highlighted as to validate AFAB patients, particularly people of color, mistrust of the medical community. It is my hope that with this knowledge people are empowered and able to advocate for care that acknowledges and aims to correct the generational trauma caused by the racist history that we discuss.
Savannah and Sahra are both medics at the Berkeley Free Clinic and are speaking from their training and work experience.
Sahra and Nicole touch on the so-called "American college experience," as well as tips and tricks on applying to college, and especially how to pay for it. Tune in if you're looking to attend college soon, and want advice from people with the not-so-typical college application process experience.
This podcast will explore ways that shelter and space have been racialized, commodified, and systemically denied throughout the history of the United States. We will investigate the politics of housing segregation as it is enacted through settler-colonial dispossession, redlining, gentrification, exposure to environmental hazards, and disparate access to necessary resources such as food and water.
