After successfully participated in the defeat of the Soviet Union, bin Laden returns home to Saudi Arabia expecting a hero's welcome. The rise of regional threat Saddam Hussein encourages him to once again put down his construction work in favor of a Mujahideen's ak-47. His offer for help, however, is rejected in favor of the American desert shield. What follows involves an escape from house arrest, a return to Afghanistan, and a new home established in Sudan. Along the way, Osama bin Laden begins his war against America; convinced that the West is a Paper Tiger.

In the first one, Osama was shocked to see terrorists assault the Grand Mosque, the site of the House of God. In the second instance, Osama would feel as though he was called to serve; first as financier and then as a full fledge guerrilla warrior against the = Soviet Union, an atheist entity that had just been invited to invade the Islamic nation of Afghanistan. It remains the single most important war that you never studied in school.

I also examine some of the key events that happen in the same year that his father dies in a plane crash; specifically the 1967 Israeli Six Day War. That conflict, even more than the creation of Israel at the expense of a Palestine state was a wake up call for the region and the men who would go on to influence the 9/11 mastermind.

Burned once before my Thomas Jefferson, Burr's vow to oblige every single elector to throw a vote towards him - resulting in a tied election in 1800. Once tossed to the vote, Alexander Hamilton's backroom dealings lends credence to the fact that Burr might be seeking the top office for himself. In the face of Virginia's raising of an army to back Jefferson, Hamilton relented - pulling the strings of another congressmen to crown Thomas Jefferson. In his explanation, he torches the ground that Burr stride upon - referring to him as an embryo caesar and setting the stage for their infamous duel.

For comparison sake, we will begin the episode with a lengthy retelling of Nat Turner's rebellion. From there we will look at the beginning of the 1791 northern province revolt before then critically examining Louverture's role in starting the conflict as well as his leadership of the movement. Midway through the conflict our freedom fighter switches his allegiance to Spain before finally settling back in with the French. It was only after this second shift that the leader of the only successful slave revolt in history became an abolitionist.
