What is the gift of tongues? Does it have any place in the life of the Christian today? The Apostle Paul tells the church in Corinth they should desire gifts that edify the church. Pastor Pat explains how the gift of tongues is to be used today and dispels some prominent misconceptions and myths about this gift.
While knowing and using your gifts is important, there is a more excellent way: the way of love. 1 Corinthians 13 is the most beautiful description of "agape" love in all of literature. This message looks at the primacy of love, the description of love, and the permanence of love.
After considering the gifts of miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, interpretation, and other gifts listed in Scripture, we learn that we all have a place to serve and use our gifts in the body of Christ. There are a diversity of gifts and people, but one body. Every member is indispensable, and we should seek the greater gifts.
Every Christian has been given at least one spiritual gift. But how do you discover it? In this message we learn about the person and work of the Holy Spirit and common views about spiritual gifts. Several of the gifts are described, and Pastor Pat shares five questions to ask yourself which help you discover your gifts.
