I’ve said many times that digestion is really two things: it’s how well we convert the food we are eating into usable nutrition, and how well we eliminate waste. That second piece is what the lymphatic system is all about, yet a lot of people aren’t even aware of the importance of this system.

The lymphatics—a.k.a. your body’s sewer system—are imperative when it comes to keeping you healthy, and everyone should understand how it all works. So today, I’m going to share what you need to know about your lymphatic system, and why it's so important to keep it running like a fine-tuned machine. What You'll Learn In Today's Episode:

What makes up your lymphatic system. The functions of the lymphatics. How much fluid drains into your lymphatic system in an average day. The five types of blood cells. What B-cells and T-cells do. Let me tell you right now: it is absolutely, physiologically impossible to produce too much stomach acid. Listen in to learn the true cause of heartburn and similar issues, why it's absolutely critical for your body to produce stomach acid, and how medications aimed at reducing stomach acid are actually incredibly harmful to your overall health.

. What You'll Learn In Today's Episode:

Why it’s impossible to make too much stomach acid—regardless of what your doctor tells you. What really causes heartburn, GERD, and similar issues. The two main reasons you need an acidic environment in your stomach. Problems that come from having insufficient stomach acid. The problem with using drugs to treat high cholesterol. Now as we go up this thermometer, this stress thermometer, the more vertical we go on the thermometer the sicker you become. Right. So the first sign of stress are these these muscle contractions and in fact only approximately 10 percent of your nerves feel pain. By the way 10 percent of your nerves have to do with pain that's intentional right. That's because our society would be one where we would be walking around even crazier and maybe we already are if we felt more pain we would be literally a destructive society in my view. So it's good that only 10 percent of our nerves feel pain otherwise we would just be manic right now. The next aspect of the stress the monitor that starts to you know once the stress accumulates the next level is sleep disorders. So if you're having a hard time sleeping you can't sleep soundly or you wake up at different times of the night. This is more than a muscle contraction stress.

In today's podcast I'm going to answer your questions. The first question that comes in is from Maria. Maria asks how much damage can constipation do to your body. That's a great question and it depends on how long you've had the constipation. But understand something when your body is not properly removing waste. It's not a good thing. Think about any kind of a large city let's take New York City for an example. Let's just pretend the amazing people who collect our garbage no longer were doing it right. Not a good visual. Same is true with your body if you're not properly eliminating waste. This is going to build up toxicity and absolutely could do damage. So a couple of things. Making sure that you're hydrated is key. I told my patients to aim for approximately 96 ounces of water a day. Now that's not for everybody that can vary person to person but aim for that. And when I say 96 ounces of water I'm not talking about the water that you have in your tea or coffee.

The broken medical model has a pill and a potion for every symptom and this is the problem with our society is that we judge our health by our symptoms. And I'm here to tell you that your health has nothing to do with your symptoms your health has everything to do with how well your body functions. In other words how how close are you to homeostasis or balance. And so this is what matters...how well your body functions.

Sometimes you come across people via social media that you do not know from Adam. But the content they post intrigues you. Irving Aquino is one of these people. We happened to follow similar people on twitter. A "save the bees" page I am sure. I followed him. He followed me. And here we are. I asked Irving to join me on my podcast because I think it is sensational that he is an ordinary guy doing the essential things necessary to be educated in this muddled information age. There are millions of people who remain uninformed. On purpose. People who just want to listen to anything and everything they see advertised on television. Or people that just listen to what their doctor advises without seeking second, third, or even fourth opinions. Irving is a role model. He is getting it done through passionately investigating online, engaging in conversations, unpopular conversations. Conversations nonetheless. Seeking better answers is a journey we should all obtain. So, I decided to change it up a bit. I am interviewing someone who is not credentialed. I am interviewing someone who isn't employed within the health and wellness industry. He isn't a doctor. He is what I like to call a "Citizen Truth Seeker" It is refreshing to me. I love his desire for health, fasting, self-awareness. I hope you love him too.
