Welcome to Thank You For You—the show where we get real about what it means to run a business without losing yourself in the process. I’m Erin Lindstrom, strategic advisor, sales nerd, and Founder ofCommonwealth Co.. I help values-driven entrepreneurs build businesses that grow with integrity, sustainability, and a little bit of magic. Grab my free guide to writing a masterclass script that actually converts atthis link, and learn more about my work aterinlindstrom.com.

In this episode, I’m breaking down a pattern I see all the time: entrepreneurs making strategic decisions based on what they think is working for someone else. I’m calling out the trap of funnel envy (with love), sharing why that approach rarely works in the long run, and offering a grounded alternative based on your actual goals, needs, and context.

Takeaways* Mimicking someone else’s funnel doesn’t guarantee you their results. * What looks like success from the outside might not feel successful on the inside. * Just because you need money fast doesn’t mean you should copy what’s trending. * Your strategy should support your life—not just your launch. * You get to build a business based on your strengths, values, and desired experience.

In today’s episode, we’re diving into one of those spicy topics: tech. Specifically, how to choose and use software in your business—whether you’re DIYing or delegating. I’m sharing my honest take on the mindset that holds people back, what your responsibility actually is as a business owner, and how to approach tech without overwhelm (or giving your power away).

Happy Wednesday, friends! 🙂

On this weeks ep Erin solo intros (again) and talks about the power of friendship: both IRL and on the depths of the internet. Then, Erin and Diane discuss zooming out and analyzing team structure, Diane's passion for stress, and the importance of keeping your team happy.

Who's Diane Mayor?

Diane’s a business strategist who helps entrepreneurs build low-maintenance teams and high-performing businesses.

With over a decade of experience in the finance world in corporate, Diane knows exactly how to take small businesses from decision fatigue and information overwhelm to confidently taking the right action in the right way with the right people for their business.

As the Coffee and Converse Podcast host, she shares success strategies for life first entrepreneurs each week.

In her spare time, this spreadsheet-crazy, puzzle-solving, systems nerd is passionate about travel, live events, coffee, and Converse though not always in that order.

Diane's why:

Oooooh, Tough Question!

I used to say my core value was freedom but I've come to realize, as I stopped running away from my old corporate life, it's actually flexibility.

After years of doing the "right" thing and being told when and where I had to be and what I had to do, I now always want to be able to make my own decisions and rules and I want the same for my clients whether that's working hours, vacations, how they lead or serve, everything should be custom.

Ultimately, I view my business and podcast as a means to help online business owners to think differently or more deeply about how they do business.

Thank YOU for Wednesday!

In this episode, Erin intros solo and talks about the therapeutic power of rage walks as she actively takes one and the importance of honest organizational leadership. Then, Erin and Erica discuss Erica's start into wedding photography, focusing on the client's full experience, and navigating the dynamics of a wedding day.

Who's Erica Leman?

Erica Leman is an ethical sales strategist and business coach for wedding photographers with heart. (Also see: wife, animal lover, anti-racist feminist, friend.)

She's been a wedding photographer for 12+ years and has navigated the ups and downs of business and life while creating a consistent flow of dream clients who respect her boundaries, pay on time, and are a true JOY to work with. (You can see them here, if you’re nosey 😉)

When she's not photographing and coaching freaking awesome people, you can find her sitting on the couch in her husband's pajama pants, drinking coffee, snuggling all of her pets (she has four - it’s exorbitant, she knows), editing, podcasting, and, generally, creating. She's an enneagram 2 and a manifesting generator, so she thrives when she's creating new things for the benefit of others.

She loves the wedding industry, she loves serving clients, and she loves supporting women. In being a part of this industry as a woman for over a decade, she's realized that the wedding industry targets women in how and what they sell, but the tactics used are gross and patriarchal. She's disgusted by it, and also bored. For an industry that thrives on creativity and newness, the sales strategies still being used sure are boring and outdated. Can’t we get some new stuff up in here?!

She's here to help women succeed in business and make more money because when they do, they change the world (according to the Googles), and she thinks we can all agree that this world needs some changing.

Erica's why:

I wholeheartedly believe I am here on this earth to serve and support others . For wedding photography clients, this looks like being a supportive presence and cheerleader on a wedding day. For wedding photographers, this looks like teaching them the tools I've used to succeed in business so that they can replicate that success.

Who is Kate Thomas?

Kate Thomas has been creating since she was a little girl. She studied Fine Art in college and hasn't stop painting since officially launching Kate Thomas Art in 2011 - her home studio currently based in Norfolk, VA. Kate has always been enamored by the forces of nature; the power of a big sky, the boldness of true mountains, and the cleansing of crashing waves and brings that through in her abstract pieces. Kate is the mom of 3, wife of one, and in addition to painting, teaches watercolor classes and loves supporting other artists in setting up businesses that work for them. She has been known to dabble in improv comedy with Alex and Erin, too!

Looking for art? Kate's got your back!

Or at her website https://www.katethomasart.com/ (which is currently getting updated, but will be up soon!)

Kate's Why:

It's just in me to create. It's a life blood for me. I want to use it as a vehicle to being some light and beauty into a heavy world. I want my art to invite people to connect with themselves and the world around them in a deeper way, and I want to provide a visual escape, a sigh of relief, or wonder, peace or joy to who ever needs it.

It's another Wednesday! And another Wednesday means another new pod episode! 🎉

This week Alex and I talk about Virgo season, being adults, and improv classes.

Then, Jamie and I get into burning everything down, rolling in the dirt, and her new program, Bloom. Maybe we'll pick up a couple worms along the way. 🪱

She is a graduate of NYU’s Gallatin Program and USC’s Stark Producing Program, and her two latest feature films are currently in the packaging process. When she’s not writing movies, novels, or pilots or helping clients develop their Ted talks, books, and campaigns, Jamie can be found practicing yoga, pulling oracle cards, or introvert’ing real hard with a book or online course.

Jamie's Why:

Expressing our most vulnerable truths is the most difficult and most important work we'll ever do. That's the one thing I'm most dedicated to -- interpersonally, personally, and professionally. That is what I help my clients do.

It's Wednesday, my dudes.

In this episode Alex and I talk about shoulder pads, her new couch, and The Bear.

After doing a dramatic reading of her bio (that we definitely didn't almost forget), Rebecca Santilli joins us to talk about the power of colors in sales and in life and her trademark practice, Rainbow Breathwork.

Becca and I have been besties for years, get to know her! Have you heard she's from Long Beach?

Rebecca Santilli is a certified Coach, Stylist, and Healer who guides women into being the truest version of themselves. She uses a combination of mindset and intuitive style coaching with somatic and color therapy to help you own your authenticity, manage your energy and shed the layers that aren't you so that you can come home to yourself and more freely share your gifts. Becca believes that by clearing the clutter of your life - both inside and out - you can heal your old stories, pain and patterning, and be an energetic match for your desires. She’s all about less doing and more being and when she's not exploring (typical Sag) she lives (vibrantly!) near the ocean in Long Beach, NY.

Rebecca's Why:

I believe to some extent we are all in various phases of developing the courage to feel everything- like to allow yourself to be weird, to let go of the past by embracing the present, to create space for change by loosening your grip on who you think you "should" be and just allowing yourself to BE... it's powerful and I'm here for it and on a mission to help facilitate that for others.

Wanna add more color to your life?

Happy TYFY day! 😘

In this episode, Alex and I talk about blind dates as I prep for my blind (pod) date with Jess Manuszak!

Jess and I talk about the power of effort, how comedy and trauma are BFFs, and her brainchild: The Freelancer Failure ball.

Who is Jess Manuszak?

Jess Manuszak is the electric little lightning bug who wrote those ads you've seen in the wild.

As the shouty mastermind behind Verve & Vigour Copywriting Studio in Denver, she's dreamed up everything from global campaigns for Nike Tennis to political campaign speeches for state Senators. (In other words, she doesn't just talk a big game — she actually delivers. Just not pizza. That one's on you.)

When she's not sleeping with the lights on after marathoning shows about ghosts, you can find her running The Freelancer Failure Ball — a national mental health nonprofit for entrepreneurs that destigmatizes rejection, missteps, and f*ckups.

Stick with her long enough, and she’ll brainwash you into believing about yourself.

Wanna learn more about Jess?

www.thefreelancerfailureball.com (tix still available!)

www.verveandvigour.com

@jessmanuszak

@freelancerfailureball

Jess' why:

Because joy is the whole fucking point.

Woo! We have another new episode of TYFY hot off the (podcast) presses!

In this episode Alex and I briefly chat about the benefits of journaling with your dominant hand, your non-dominant hand, and sometimes your feet before another dramatic bio reading (send us a DM with music ideas 😉).

Then, I welcome Rachel Everington onto the pod where we discuss how to build a healthy business, internet cockroaches, and more.

Who is Rachel Everington?

Rachel Everington is the CEO of an executive assistance and operations agency that supports business owners by removing the day to day overwhelm so that they can get their time back in order to focus on revenue generating activities. A consultant to businesses to support them on their business infrastructure (team management, systems building, standard operating procedures, strategically map their visions, customer journey workflow strategy and client experience). She is also a coach to other done-for-you service providers to create a profitable and sustainable business.

After waiting for years to finally get her miracle baby, she had left the corporate world in order to create a business that provided time and financial freedom. She is dedicated to helping others build a business they love in order to create impact in our communities and much more by providing white glove support. She believes that people buy people and not businesses, and that we can all succeed if people were to treat others as humans with love, respect and compassion.

Visit https://www.theexecutiveninja.com/ or follow Rachel at @theexecutiveninja or @racheleverington to learn more about her VEA agency and how to sign up for her mentor program, VEA reCoded. ✨

Wooo! Welcome to a brand spankin new season of TYFY!

In this ep I'm joined by my left hand lady, Alex, for a quick chat and dramatic bio reading before hopping into our main episode with the one and only, Crosby Noricks.

Wanna know more about Crosby? Great bc I want to tell you!

Communication is central to Crosby’s work. She is the founder of PR Couture, the industry-leading career development platform for PR professionals, which was recently acquired by Jeneration PR after fifteen years in the online education space. Crosby’s vision, expertise, and accessibility have led her to educate, mentor and inspire industry professionals and brands internationally, for nearly 20 years.

With the recent sale of her company comes a professional departure, or as we say these days, a pivot. Crosby is now developing a new body of work as a somatically-trained personal leadership coach, helping women in and around life’s midpoint to reimagine and reconfigure their lives and contributions for greater inner and outer congruence.

Crosby is a certified Empty Out practitioner and Body Breath Method guide. She has completed an integrative somatic parts work certificate and received training in the UZAZU method of emotional intelligence.

Crosby holds a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies from San Diego State University and graduated with honors from Pitzer College with a combined degree in Media Studies and Gender/Feminist Studies.

Those interested can sign up for her newsletter, Body of Work, and register for her free Unfurl Summer Collective series at whereweunfurl.com.

Crosby’s Why:

Our govt/society functions on the back of women’s unpaid labor, physical and emotional. This has dire consequences for everyone. We do not have a community of care principle, we have systems that are broken, outdated and we have lost ancestral knowledge. We celebrate the maiden and avert our eyes at the chrone. We throw the weight onto women’s shoulders and tell them to fix what is wrong systemically with journaling and a crystal bubble bath. I can’t fix the entire planet, but I can guide women to connect and create from their sense of power. I can’t remove the stressors, but I can alleviate some of the tension. I can help her learn to hold her own gaze, to take herself seriously, to lead, and to receive. I can remind her of the magic of women in circle, of her body, her wisdom, and her desire. I can help her more artfully conduct her universe.

Having a successful business as a single parent is 100% possible- and there are some things that just aren't taught in most courses or frameworks. In this episode I share my personal insights and things I think every single or transitioning parent could/should consider. You'll learn about my story of starting my business as a single child-less 23 year old, and how that changed when I was pregnant and 24, married at 25, with 2 under 2 at 26, and separated at 28, while navigating deployments as a military spouse to know, at 32 with a multi-six figure biz and a blended family. Want support with sales strategy and money mindset? Make sure to join my free FB Group, The Shiny Sales Community, or send me a DM about what you're working through!
