True Riches Sermon Library contains sermons delivered by Reverend Wes Brockway. Mr. Brockway is an ordained Southern Baptist minister with nearly forty years experience. He has served God and churches in Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Currently, he is the Pastor for Campbellsburg Baptist Church in Campbellsburg, KY. He has been married to Susan Evans Brockway since January 1976. They have two children, six grandchildren, and two cats. They reside in Louisville, KY.
A common belief among non-Christians, especially non-Christians who follow no faith system at all. A faith in Jesus Christ is considered to be a crutch for the weak-minded. However, nothing could be further from the truth. Becoming a Christian instantly puts one at odds with the world. On the other hand, God calls His followers to do tasks that defy the odds and sometimes seem downright foolish. Nope, being a Christian ain't for sissies!
In Matthew 25, we find Jesus teaching His last messages before He was crucified. What was on Jesus' mind in these last words to His disciples? He was teaching and warning them to be ready for the Kingdom of God. Our passage for this message is Matthew 25:1-13. It is the parable of the 10 virgins waiting for the groom's call. Five were ready to meet Him, five were not. This begs the question for us: are we ready to be with Jesus in His kingdom?
Jesus' followers were looking for God's kingdom to come and drive out the Romans. They were discouraged because that wasn't what Jesus was teaching or doing. Additionally, people weren't responding to His teaching, and His close, true followers were few in number. How on earth was God's kingdom going to be established? We can get discouraged when we look around us, but Jesus' teaching can help us have the correct perspective and know that "Jesus' Kingdom Will Come!"
We have a lot of distractions, some good and some bad, that obscure our view of the cross, of God's will for our lives. Paul shows us how we can become fully aligned with Christ and let His way loom large and be complete in our sight. Will we take that step? That's what God is waiting to see.
In Psalm 44, King David of Israel recounted how God had blessed the nation. He also acknowledged that Israel had missed a blessing from God because of their wickedness and abandonment of God's principles. We can learn from David's words as we consider how God has blessed America. If we are honest, we too have missed out on God's blessings because we are abandoning His principles and ceasing to worship Him.
Using Exodus 13:17-22, we learn how God guided the Israelites out of Egypt. From those observations, we learn principles about how God guides that still apply today .
What better example for men can there be but Jesus Christ? On this Father's Day 2026, we look at the attributes of Jesus, especially how He was a kind-hearted, compassionate, patient person with the downtrodden common man or woman, but He expressed great passion against those who were oppressing the people, and how He can be an example for us today.
Our walk with God begins with Him confronting us with our need for salvation. Once we accept Him as our God through the work of Jesus Christ, He continues to confront us to instill a deeper faith in Him. Today, we look at Exodus 3:1-6, 14, and the life of Moses to glean insight into how God confronts.
In this message, we bring to a close our study of the Book of Romans. In the last four chapters of Romans, the Apostle Paul largely provided a list of instructions to the believers in Rome on how to have good relationships with others and how to treat all people. Join us as we consider his exhortations.
We continue our study in the Book of Romans in chapter 12, verses 3-9. In this section, the Apostle Paul introduces the concept of spiritual gifts. We discuss the difference between spiritual gifts and talent, where and when they come from, and what they are for.
From Romans 12:1,2 - Having discussed God's justification, mercy, and grace, Paul continues his instruction with the plea that we enter into a complete, sold-out attitude of service and yieldedness to God.
Our message from May 17, 2026, "Your Religion is Killing You. (cont'd)" is the continuation of May 3rd's message. In this message, we continue in chapter 11 of the Book of Romans.
We continue our study of the Book of Romans in the Christian New Testament section of the Bible. This is a two-part message based on chapters 9,10, and 11. The 2nd part will be preached on May 17, 2026. Religion is good, it is following the tenets of someone, and in our case, God and Jesus Christ. But the religion is merely the following of the tenets or the works of our faith. We must be sure we do not think our religion is our salvation. Our salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone. Follow as we look at how we can fall into the trap of thinking our religion is sufficient.
We continue our series on the Book of Romans this week with chapter. In this chapter, Paul begins to address the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

We continue our sermon series on the Book of Romans. In this message, we examine Paul's teaching in chapter 7 on the liberty we have in Jesus Christ from sin and the law, and how we should live with our newfound liberty.
Because of Jesus Christ's resurrection, those who have believed in Him have the hope of one day entering heaven upon their death. But we also reap benefits from Jesus's resurrection while we are alive. In today's message, we learn the three benefits of resurrection in the life of a believer.
In our life we face many, many challenges. We have the skills, abilities, and knowledge to face these challenges, but sometimes the challenge overwhelms us and demands more than we can offer. How do we continue to face the challenge? One of the most powerful mechanisms we have to help with pressing on is the hope that an answer will come or a solution will present itself. Having hope is critical. Having hope properly based is a must for a good outcome. When our faith and hope are placed in Jesus Christ and our Father Creator, we can rest assured that all things will turn out for the best.
In chapter 6 of the Book of Romans, the Apostle Paul addresses some erroneous thoughts about justification and the Law. He gives good reasoning why the ideas are wrong and encourages his reader to choose the victory in Christ that all Christians have available to them, but they must choose life in following Christ for their souls, not death by following the world's ways.
From Romans 5:12-21 - In this passage, the Apostle Paul explains how Adam's act of disobedience led to sin being imputed to all mankind. The comparison also draws on the idea that Jesus' act of redemption justifies all mankind's sins.
Besides receiving the joy of justification we gain from Christ's redemption, we receive seven other blessings.
Abraham is known as the Father of Faith because of his great faith in God. In this message, we look at how Abraham demonstrated his faith and what we can learn from his example. Based on the fourth chapter of the Book of Romans.
In chapters one and two of Romans, Paul has laid out the guilt of the Gentiles and the Jews, respectively. Now he levels the charge against all people. He shares that all are equally guilty of sinning against God and that the solution is the same for every person. We must accept the work of Jesus on our behalf by faith. It is faith in Christ that makes us right with God, something our works, whether under the law or apart from the law, cannot do.
We continue our sermon series in the Book of Romans. Today's message comes from Romans 2-3:8. In chapter one, Paul addressed the sin and guilt of the Gentiles. Now he turns his attention to the Jews in Rome. Paul reminds the Jews that though they were a special people blessed and set apart by God, they were still guilty of sin and, in that regard, they were no better than the Gentiles, and in some ways, they were more guilty. Join us as we break down Paul's words to the Jews living in Rome.
Based on Romans 1:18-32 this message looks at four ways that people turn their backs on God and step away from following Him. These are, Intelligence, Ignorance, Indulgence, and Impenitence.

Lamentation 3:23 reminds us that God's mercy and compassion is new everyday, that means that each new day is or can be a fresh start for us. At the beginning of a new year our mind often thinks about what we might like to do different in the coming year. God is ready to do a new work in us anytime we will yield ourselves to His will. In our message today we look at how we can have that fresh start in Christ Jesus.
This Sunday, we complete our Advent series on The Gifts of Christmas with this last sermon, The Gift of Jesus. Christmas is all about gift-giving and demonstrating love to those closest to us. That's what God did for us so many years ago. He gave the gift the world needs: He gave His Son, Jesus Christ. But a gift is not a gift if it isn't opened and used in our lives. Our fourth Advent message is on The Gift of Peace. Jesus did provide peace with God by His death on the cross on our behalf. Unfortunately, the Israelites were looking for a different kind of peace from God. Because of this, they rejected the peace Jesus provided. Sadly, too many today don't understand what Jesus came to do and did. The result is they miss the peace God affords. Watch and listen to see if you are missing the peace Jesus brought to all mankind.
This is the third message in our Advent sermon series. It's titled "The Gift of Joy." In the message, we look at what joy is, the difference between being happy or carefree and joy, and how to appropriate joy in our lives. The scripture passage is Psalms 96:4-13.

In our service on the Sunday before Thanksgiving 2025, we look at the origins of Thanksgiving, when those first Pilgrims landed in America seeking a place where they were free to worship as their consciences dictated. They faced many challenges, losses, and heartaches, yet they never lost their faith in God. They established Thanksgiving as a special day once a year when they would give thanks to God for all His good works. We would do well to follow their example.
Often, as Christians, we lack the gratefulness we should have; thus, we are not thankful. Where does this ungratefulness come from? Watch and listen to today's message as we explore reasons for ungratefulness. Luke 17:11-19 records for us the occasion when Jesus encountered ten men afflicted with leprosy. These men were outcasts from society, unable to come near anyone because of their disease. They cried out to Jesus for healing, and Jesus did indeed heal all ten. But only one, a Samaritan, took the time to go to Jesus and thank Him for being healed. We look at having a heart of thanksgiving as we begin this Thanksgiving month. As part of the sermon I sing two songs written by Andre' Crouch, "Take a Little Time" and "Through It All" hopefully the songs don't get censored from the sermon.
God loves to talk to His children. Too often, we've made our lives so busy that we don't hear or we don't recognize His voice. Glynn Brockway brings this Sunday's message, which gives us insight into hearing the voice of God.
The Holy Spirit is one person in our triune God, along with God the Father and God the Son, Jesus. He was there at creation. Genesis 1:2 tells us, "and the Spirit of God hovered over the waters of the deep. Too many have relegated the Holy Spirit to the collective spirit of God, not a person of the Godhead. That's unfortunate because the Holy Spirit is the power behind the New Testament that Jesus began.

Tithing is a biblical concept that is much debated and usually dismissed. Why? Because we don't want to let go of our money, but we also want to be justified in everyone's eyes when we don't tithe. In today's message, we look at three justifications for the tithe. Is there a valid, biblical reason for it? Listen, and learn!
The greatest privilege of being a Christian is the privilege of prayer. The definition of privilege is "a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group." Salvation is the greatest gift we can receive, but it is not earned or deserved. It is given entirely through the grace of God. However, once we are a Christian, once we are part of that special group, we are afforded the privilege of prayer. Prayer is the privilege of having a personal, one-on-one conversation with God, meaning there is no mediator or interpreter. Prayer is vital to our relationship with God; that being the case, we should make sure we have the correct understanding about prayer.
Becoming a Christian is a matter of faith and one's heart. It cannot be seen or proven by another human. God, of course, sees the heart and knows who is His. We should, however, be able to see evidence of someone becoming a Christian. This message shows from scripture some of the changes we should see in ourselves and others. In Matthew 4:18-20, Jesus bid His disciples to follow Him. In so doing, they would become fishers of men. He was talking to men who were professional fishermen. There are skills from fishing for fish that translate well to becoming fishers of men. Today, a church member who is an avid fisherman and I talk about how to fish and how that relates to sharing the gospel.

The Bible is God's Word to all people. It should be studied and applied to one's life. In this message, we are encouraged to read God's word, believe in faith, and apply the teachings to our lives.
God created man male and female with different characteristics that complement each other to produce the best family life and the best upbringing for a child. God gave man specific attributes to equip him to protect and provide for his family. God also has expectations for the man of God in His service to God. We look at these attributes today in our search to define "The Man of God."
One of the most visible and most important aspects of the church is the worship. Worship of God is very important to Him. The first few commandments deal with worshiping God and God alone. Jesus gave worshiping God as the first and greatest commandment. True uplifting worship helps us to cope, and it picks up our spirits. We must understand what worship is and is not. We have a commission to take the gospel to all people. To do that effectively we have to "speak their language" as each culture has their own interests, even those of our same nationality, Our speaker does a great job of explaining how we need to do this.

in Matthew 16:18, Jesus states that He is going to build His church. That's something we often forget, that it's His church. Since it is His and since He is the all-knowing Creator and God, it makes perfect sense that we be the church He has designed. There has always been apathy and ambivalence regarding Jesus Christ, but for those of us alive today who have lived for several decades, it seems as if the apathy and ambivalence are getting worse. People just don't care about faith in God. A question they may ask or have on their mind is, Why should I care about Jesus Christ? After all, if he were a real person, he's just a good man who said and did some good things. I'm a good person, too. In this message from Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, we attempt to answer the question as to why anyone and everyone should care about Jesus Christ, what he did, or what he said.
As we enter the Easter season we pause to remember Jesus' last words from the cross. Each of the seven sayings gives us insight into our Lord and Savior.
Jesus bids us to cast our cares and burdens on Him. Then He says to take on His yoke. But why is Jesus' yoke better? That's what we explore in this message.
When Jesus began His earthly ministry it started with a simple,, "Come and See." Then the disciples began telling others, "Come and See." We often overinflate what we think Jesus is asking us to do. He doesn't ask us to condemn people, He doesn't ask us to save people, He merely asks us to lead people to Him by saying, "Come and See." The root of what we are expected to do today is tell people to come and see Jesus because when they do learning who Jesus is will convert all but the hardest soul.
We all love Jesus! He is a friend who is "closer than a brother." He loves us, is merciful and gracious to us, and cares about our every need. He is such a good friend that it is easy to forget that He is fully God as well and reserves, not to mention requires, full obedience and devotion. He is patient and kind but that doesn't mean we don't have to honor and respect Him. In this message, we look at John chapter one to remind us that Jesus is fully God and that He should be respected and honored as the supreme God that He is.
Jesus taught us that we are wise if we build our lives upon His teachings. A good foundation is critically important for a sturdy, stable, safe building. We also need a sure foundation for our lives. Jesus is that sure foundation. Jesus also taught us the difference in little faith, good faith, and great faith. As we grow in the Lord, and deepen our foundation in Him, our faith is built up wider and higher. Listen and watch as we look at Matthew 7:24-40 and the parable of the Wise and Foolish Builder.
When Jesus walked on the earth, one of His many actions was establishing the New Testament church. (Matthew 16:18) Jesus went further to describe how this church should be constructed. Watch and listen as we delve into God's word to learn the principles upon which the New Testament church is founded.
Life is full of conflict. Where there are humans there is conflict. Not all conflict is bad. Often good comes from conflict but when individuals don't agree and can't get along, especially Christians, it's especially sad. Jesus established the church to be His evangelistic arm in the world. when the church is in turmoil that evangelistic work is hindered. In Matthew 18:15-20, Jesus gives us instructions about how to resolve conflict.
One of the rites we practice in Christian churches, of all denominations, is Communion or the Lord's Supper. Often this practice becomes trivial or unimportant to us, but we should take great joy in its practice because Jesus wants you to come share at the table with Him. There's no finer place to be. Watch and listen as we look at 1 Corinthians 11:23-32 and attempt to regain joy in this practice.
Jesus tells us that we must love one another but what does or should that love look like? Is it romantic love? We can learn what He expects from us by looking at how He loved people.
When we embrace Christ's forgiveness, we are filled with great joy. It is a relief to no longer bear the burden of those sins. It's easy to love Jesus because He is good to all, kind, patient, loving, merciful, forgiving, and gracious. All the listed adjectives fit the Son of God. Jesus is forgiving, but He expects forgiveness. Just as we have been forgiven, Jesus expects us to forgive others. Listen today as we discuss The Principal of Reciprocity.
One of the great blessings we have as Christians is the ability to hear God for ourselves. We don't need a priest or prophet to tell us what God is thinking; He will speak to us. But why do so many say they've never heard from God? Today we will look at how we can hear God and what keeps us from hearing God.
Throughout God's word, He refers to people whose hearts have hardened against the word and way of God. What are the signs of a hardened heart? How does one develop a hardened heart? In this message, we will examine several scripture passages that give insight.

God is the God of miracles. Today we look at three examples of His miraculous work. First, we look at the miracle birth of Jesus. then we look at the birth of Isaac, and finally, we look at the birth of Samuel. Using Isaiah 7:1-17 we learn how God is the God of Miracles.
There are over 300 prophecies concerning the coming of Jesus, including where He would be born and through whom. Every single one came true. There is a 1 in quintillion chance of all prophecies being fulfilled, but they concern Jesus' birth. We begin with Micah 5:1-4 but we look at several verses that prophesy about Jesus.
The baby Messiah's coming is foretold. At a time when the land of Israel was suffering great darkness of oppression and sinfulness, a Messiah's coming was foretold. In a land of darkness, a land without hope, hope was offered in the person of Jesus Christ. Listen as we read Isaiah 9:2-7 and learn of the great hope promised to the Israelis and to us.
On this Sunday before Thanksgiving 2024, we pause to look at how to have a heart of thankfulness and gratitude. Join us as we look at Luke 7:11-17 and other verses to see what God's word says about being thankful.
This past Sunday, November 17, 2024, we were honored to have Dr. Todd Gray, Executive Director of the Kentucky Baptist Convention, bring the message to our morning worship service. The title of his sermon is "Taking the Gospel to Your County" and he used Acts 16:6-17 for his scripture reference.
We face many storms, and when we do they consume our focus. That is a normal reaction. Because of the particular storm, we may reduce other activities saddly, that includes cutting off church attendance. If we have money problems we will reduce or stop our tithe to the church. When we reduce our church activities including giving to God's work through the church, we are shortchanging ourselves. God is the only one who has the power to effect change. In our message today, we look at this behavior and we learn why we should stay the course with God.
This is from week 10 of our Wednesday night Mid-Week Prayer and Bible Study. Tonight's lesson from the Book of Amos chapter three talked about God's Call and what that entails.
Why do we shortchange God when we're pressed for time or money? Is it because we give more than He does, so we figure He owes us? Are we doing more than He has done or is doing? Watch and listen as we examine scripture to see what God has done for us and how we rob Him when we withhold our time and money. Halloween is a fun time with costumes and candy, but we should remember there is also a lot regarding death and horror too. God warned His people to stay as far away as possible from things related to Halloween that are also out there as well. In Deuteronomy 18 God instructs His people to not engage with the pagan religions.
The presence of the Holy Spirit in Christians has a positive impact on every area of our lives and the world. Jesus taught that we are the "salt of the earth" and the "light of the world." One way Christians can impact our world is to exercise their right to vote. Watch and listen as we see what Jesus has to say about our impact on the world and how we should live as citizens.
Life consists of one decision after another. Some are easy and make little impact, others can change our lives forever for better or worse. How do we make good decisions? We line up the lights in our lives for the straight path to the solution. Join us as we look at Romans 12:1-3 and Acts 2:1-4 to learn what those lights are.

This Sunday we ordain two women of our church into the diaconate. We begin with a look at the times God called women to ministry in the Bible, starting with Deborah, one of the Judges of Israel in God's Theocracy. Then we look at the New Testament references concerning Phoebe. Phoebe was described as a deacon in the Book of Romans. Finally, we end the service with the charge and the Laying on of Hands.
With Christ's atoning work on the cross on our behalf, we now have an "escape hatch" to keep us from suffering eternal death. When we accept the work of Jesus Christ as the Messiah, done on our behalf, we pass from death to life. Paul calls the unregenerate man the Natural Man. When we accept Christ we become the Self-Guided Man. We are saved by the power of Jesus Christ but still respond to our fleshly desires. As we mature in Christ and make Him Lord of our life, we become the Spiritual Man. The Spiritual Man is not perfect but his heart is on God. Watch today's message as we explain these three conditions of man. Based on Romans 6:8-14 and other scriptures.
The only way for us to have fellowship with God and gain the promise of eternity in heaven is to be righteous. To be righteous means to be perfect; to commit no sin ever whatsoever. We cannot attain this righteousness on our own because of our sinful nature. In today's message, we explore god's righteous justification of our lives.
Something virtually everyone expects from anyone is that they live according to the code in which they profess to believe. This expectation is very true for unbelievers and the unchurched when they consider those who profess faith in Jesus Christ. while they may disagree with our faith , they expect us to live it. Faith that God is the Sovereign Lord and thus judge of mankind is one realization that helps us live a life worthy of Him. We do this because the punishment for defying His law is severe. However, some deny God and choose not to believe in Him. What is the result of having no faith in God? How might we Christians be guilty of this sin? Using Romans 1:18-32, Pastor Wes gives some insight into this low state.

We can weather the storms by His strength. God also wants us to use His provision through the storms to testify to others of His goodness and love.
Hearing "I love you" is great and makes us feel great, but speaking the words without demonstrating that love soon falls flat. Jesus teaches us to show love in action to our friends and our enemies. Today we look at ways we can show love to others.
We humans have an innate sense of acting solemn when we are in the presence of some being greater than us. We call that action, being reverent. What is reverence? and how should it be expressed?
God has done immeasurably more for us than we can know. God worked magnificent miracles for the Hebrew people as He brought them out of the oppression of Egypt. He fed them as they wandered in the desert. He provided them with what to drink. He cared for their every need. All He wanted was for the Israelites to be devoted to Him. God was ready to pour out many more blessings but His people stifled God's action because they refused to follow God and instead lived by their wisdom. God has blessed us how can we say "No, I won't." God is calling out today to us like He did to the Israelites. "If only you would follow me . . ." We are in Psalm 81 today. An example from Nehemiah chapter on the power of teamwork. With carefully thought out assignments, the people, under Nehemiah's leadership, are able to complete the repair of the wall surrounding Jerusalem within 52 days.
Nehemiah was despondent over the condition of Jerusalem. When the king asked him what was wrong, chapter 2 of Nehemiah tells us, that Nehemiah said a quick prayer before he answered the king. Sometimes a quick prayer is all we have time for but Nehemiah had backed up that last-minute prayer with months of extended prayer before God. Prayer, and talking with God is one of the main ways we get our hearts and thoughts in synchronization with God. When we align our heart and mind with Him we can move forward in power and wisdom. Gideon had an impossible task before him, and God made it more impossible. Why? So His people the Israelites would learn anew that with God all things are possible and so their faith in God would be deepened. god wants us to trust Him in the impossible situations in our lives for the same reason so that our faith in Him would be deepened. God's primary interest in us is building a deeper faith in us. He knows that if we have faith all things are possible. We know, as Christians, that we can trust that God will "meet every need according to the riches of His Father in heaven." We need not fret for what we need to live. However, we usually don't trust God and feel we have to get all we can for ourselves. Then a time of failure comes in our life. It may be failure from a sin or it may be a failure from well-intended reason but not what God wants. At this point we can blame everyone else for what happens to me or we can seek forgiveness of our sin, repent from the sin, and trust God more each day. Using II Samuel 12:1-10.
Jesus teaches us through the parable of The Good Samaritan that we should show love to all, even our enemies. By doing this we demonstrate how Christ has changed our lives and we can tell them how He can change theirs for the better for eternity. Luke 10:25-39
Moses has died and it's time once again for the Israelites to go in and take possession of the land promised to Abraham so many years ago. To be successful the Israelites must forget the past and move forward into the future. To do that they must be strong and courageous. From Joshua 1:1-9
There are times in our lives when we have a great vision for the future. ANd then there are times that the vision falls flat. What happened? Did we do something wrong? Are we all wrong? I thought I was doing something good but it's all fallen flat now. These questions and more plague us as we try to figure out what happened. When our vision fails us it is an opportune time to turn to God and ask Him what He would have us learn from the situation. If we can learn that the most important thing to God where we are concerned is that our faith in Him grow even deeper, it will cast everything thast we go through in a different light. Samuel was the greatest prophet of Israel. God used him mightly to draw the nation's heart to Jehovah. This Sunday we celebrate our Mothers. Samuel's mother was Hannah. She was a woman of great faith and dedication from whom we can learn much.
Elisha's servent was surprised when he walked out of the house one morning and saw the whole house surrounded by an opposing army. Elisha told him to not worry and then asked God to open his eyes . . . his spiritual eyes. God granted Elisha his request. When the servent saw all the angelic host on the hillside preparing for battle he knew things were going to be ok. Elisha then encountered the marauding army. Listen as we examine this role in Elisha's life and how they were blessed by follosing God.
It is so very easy to look like we are doing right before others but God knows our heart and our motivations. Balaam was going through the motions of serving but God knew his real motivations and acted to stop him. Look with us at Numbers 22 to learn how God dealt with Balaam.
In the first four commandments God declares worship for Him and Him alone. This is for our good as "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wosdom." Psalm 111:10. While we may not create actualy, physical images of gods and worship them, we still have to gurd against forming a false image of God. Amos was a shepherd/businessman in the area of Tekoa, Israel. God called him to prophesy to the people of Israel. Our focus today is on chapter 7 verses 1-9. In this passage God tells us that He has set a plumbline, a standard that is to be met. If we understand God's standard, or plumb line, we will realize that it sets boundaries for us. Boundaries with the intent to keep us safe and in which we have great liberty. Listen as we look at this great passage from Amos and think about God's plumb line for us.
From Luke 4:1-13. Jesus goes into the desert led by the Holy Spirit. At the end of forty days he is approached by Satan with thre temptations. There is much we can learn from this passage of scripture about our Lord, Jesus Christ, Satan and how to face temptation.

In our series, Love One Another, we come to the end of chapter 13 of 1 Corinthians where were are reminded "...that the greatest of these is love." We have a quick review of the chapter and see Paul's emphasis that love is the greatest of all attributes. Then we look at Matthew 22:34-40 and see Jesus' comment on what are the greatest laws. Put simply, Jesus says Love, love for the Father and love for our neighbor.
Continuing our series on Love One Another we look at the difference in being selfish versus selfless with our love. We consider Jesus' selfless act leaving heaven to being us redemption and forgiveness as an example of our love for others.
Our message this week comes from Galatians 5:22-26 and 1 Corinthians 13:4 on being a Peaceable person as we continue our series on Love One Another. To be peaceable we must put aside envy, conceit, boasting, and a manner that provokes others to rage. Listen as we learn how to bring peace to our world instead of strife.

This week we continue to look at God's vision and how that vision was related to the Apostle Paul. God led Him to go to Macedonia, modern day Greece, to share the gospel. This is the first known occurrence of the gospel being taken to the land mass of Europe.
In God's continued quest to see the gospel spread throughout the world, He challenged Peter to expand his vision of how that should be done. Peter was happy preaching in Jerusalem to his fellow Jews, a good desire, but God wanted the non-Jewish people to hear the gospel and He wanted Peter to tell the the gospel. If Peter had refused God's call his good intentions would have stood in the way of God's will. Peter had the attributes God needed for this job. Obediently, Peter received God's enlightenment and went to Cornelius, a Roman Centurion, and shared the gospel. The result was that Cornelius and his house received Jesus as the Messiah and, as promised by Jesus, they received the Holy Spirit opening a new audience for God's message. From Acts 10-11:18
The Apostles Paul's conversion was an earth changing conversion but it is based on the same need that is true for each of us. Watch as we learn from Paul's conversion in the book of Acts chapter nine
The early church saw God do amazing things as He worked to have the gospel spread throughout the world. In todays sermon we learn of Pilip and the Ethiopian eunuch. They met on the road from Jerusalem to Gaza. It was a divine appointment set by God with the result being the propagation of the Gospel into Africa. Acts 8:26-41
The rapid growth of the church in Jerusalem brought growing pains the Apostles needed to address. They recommended seven men be selected to take some of the load off the Apostles. Jesus presents His followers with a choice once again. This time the choice is to build their life on the truth of God's word or on something else. God's word is a sure foundation built on rock whereas other foundations are unstable and built on sand.
Jesus teaches there are two paths to take in life. The wide, appealing, easy path that most take but a path that leads to destruction and a narrow path, overgrown because few take it but a path that leads to life everlasting. Jesus encourages us to take the narrow path.
Jesus comes full circle to remind us to store up treasures in heaven which is actually a promise that we can store up treasures or rewards in heaven. From Matthew 7:7-12
In these passages from Matthew 6:19-34, Jesus tells us to "store up treasures in heaven" versus treasures on earth. We want the things of heaven, we want to believe but we just...can't...let...go of the things of this earth. Join us as we learn how Jesus urges us to let go of the things of earth, and to grasp the things of heaven, and all the while not succumb to worry.
Continuing in the series, "Beautiful Attitudes: The Teachings of Jesus Christ" we, in this message, look at Matthew 6:1-18. Jesus teaches that When we give, when we pray, and when we fast that we not do it as a show to impress other people. It is to be an act of obedience and worship towards our Father in heaven.
In Matthew 5:38-40 Jesus teaches what the real meaning and purpose is of the Old Testament law concerning and eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
Continuing our series, "Beautiful Attitudes: The Teachings of Jesus Christ" we look at Matthew 5:33-37. Jesus teaches us our talk should be pure without superlatives such as oaths that we use to try and emphasize what we are stating. He tells the believer to just say Yes or No. Additionally this sermon looks the Parable of The Two Brothers, Matthew 21, and other verses admonishing us to not use "corrupt" language.
Jesus loves us more deeply then we can know or imagine. He loves us so much that he is willing to tackle the difficult issues because His ultimate desire for us is for us to become like the Father. In this selection of verses we hear how lust in the heart is equal to adultery in God's eyes and we learn God's heart regarding divorce. Matthew 5: 27-32
We continue our series, "Beautiful Attitudes: The Teachings of Jesus Christ" by looking at Matthew 5:21-26. The people knew the commandment, "Thou Shalt Not Kill(Murder)." Jesus goes on to teach that if we hate someone we have practiced murder in our heart.
Next in our messages from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount is, "Light on the Salt Please". After Jesus teaches us what being blessed is, He proceeds to tell His followers that because they have believed, it is their role to share what they've believed. Based on Matthew 5:13-16

Jesus freely gives us forgiveness and salvation, but our new found freedom does come with a responsibilty. Jesus expects us to share the good news that we've experienced with others. Join with us today as we explore how to have A Greater Voice when it comes to sharing about Jesus Christ.
Parenting a child can have moments of great joy, but anyone who has been or is a parent knows how tough it is too. There are many books available on parenting and advice is not hard to come by but it usually doesn't exactly relate to my situation. Humans are basic creatures on one hand. They need food and shelter but they are also very complex and each one has unique traits. This makes it hard to know exactly what to do in each and every situation. Jesus understands this and God's word has several examples we can read. Today we begin with Deuteronomy 6:1-10 and discuss the 'Shema' and then we look at some examples of parents in the Bible who found parenting anything but easy.
All of us feel lonely and depressed from time to time. Some struggle with persistent depression. Is Jesus even aware of the struggle we feel in these areas? Jesus certainly knows and cares when you're feeling lonely and depressed. Listen to today's message and learn how God loves you and cares for you.
Often in life we have experiences when we feel nobody loves us and we are ugly. Does Jesus Care about this? Using the Book of Ruth, chapter one we learn that God is very much concerned when we have these feelings.
The Bible clearly teaches that we are stewards of God's creation. In this message we look at many scriptures to distill God's instructions regarding stewardship.
When we face challenges in life we typically use our wisdom, knowledge, and experience to determine how to face the challenge. That is the right response, however, sometimes God steps in and gives us a vision that contradicts what we believe to be the best course of action. When God shows us His mission or vision for our life we need to set aside what we think we know and do what God commands. Listen today as we look at the life of Abraham when he faced a very real crisis in his life. We'll read from Genesis 15:1-6, Matthew 9:34-37, Matthew 28:19,20. Acts 1:8, and John 4:35 to learn Christ vision for our lives.
When we face challenges in our life the right and normal tack to take is to use the wisdom, knowledge, and experience we have to find a solution to our challenge. That is what we should do . . .unless God has set a vision, a call for us. When God sets a mission for us and or when He reveals His vision for us, we should drop all our plans and embrace God's plan. In this sermon we look at the life of Abraham and how he handled the vision God showed him. Then we look at Christ's vision for His followers. Our sermon focus scripture in Genesis 15:1-6. We then look at Matthew 28:19,20, Matthew 9:34-3, Acts 1:7,8 and finally John 4:35.
We worship the Almighty Creator of everything. He is all-knowing, all-present, and all powerful yet we can limit His role in our life. Are we more powerful than He, do we know more are we wiser? Listen and hear how we limit God's role in our lives.
Our past can be of great help and it can be a stumbling block that hobbles our forward progress. We are encouraged to forget the past but to also remember the past. How do we find the balance? How do we use the past as a learning tool? How do we move on? The Apostle Paul had a terrible past to overcome. How did he not let his past reduce him to a quivering shell of a human? How did he use his past to propel him to greatness? Today's sermon looks at Philippians 3:7-14 to unravel this mystery.

We are promised peace with the coming of Jesus Christ. Using the story of the shepherds being visited by the angel Gabriel followed by a host of angels, we look at the peace we were given.
On this Sunday we celebrated the 2nd Advent thought on Love. The message on Love was drawn from Romans 5:1-8 and Hebrews 12:4-13. We first consider Jesus' love for His us and then we considered that love is a double edged sword with the two edges Compassion and Correction. We love Christ's compassion for us but His love also includes correction.
It is easy to feel despair, doubt, and discouragement in life. Even if overall our life is good there are those hard times and issues we feel will never be resolved. The Israelites had many reasons to feel this way in their exile in Babylon. God speaks to them as recorded in Jeremiah 29:4-11. He encourages them to go on with their life, to pray for others, and to have faith that God has better things in store. Those encouragements are valid for us today. God is on His throne, He cares about you and loves you, and He has an abundant life He wants to bless you with. Keep your faith in Him strong. He will see you through!
Today, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, we pause to remember all those who have been a help in our life, those, both present and departed, who have been a blessing. We are reminded that we need to remember them and tell them "Thank you." The Apostle Paul began his letters to the churches buy saying, "I thank God upon every remembrance of you." Join us as we see what we can learn from Philippians 4:10-19
How to we respond when God does something good for us. To we act arrogantly and not acknowledge that He did anything on our behalf, or do we act with humility realizing all good things come from above. Jonah was faced with this dilemma. When God told Jonah to do something, Jonah refused and tried to run away from God. There's no running away from God. God knew where Jonah was. On this Sunday after Veterans Day, we paused to remember and express gratefulness for the veterans of our country for their service to God and country. We recognize that their sacrifice is what has kept America the "land of the free and the home of the brave." Join us as we look at their witness to us and the encouragement that witness is that we embrace and fight to maintain the freedoms they secured for us. The fifth and final message of our series on the Book of Hebrews. Today's message covers the final step of one who has turned away from faith in God and His word. That is to defy God. Join us as we look at the encouragement given and teaching as to why we should stand firm in our faith in God.
We continue with the forth in our Series on the Book of Hebrews. Our message today looks at the result of the continued departure from God's word. The one word description for today's passage of scripture is despise. As we grow further apart from God's way we begin to despise Him and His word. This is evidenced by us not wanting to hear or read His scripture or any Christian songs. The reference for this message is chapter 10 of Hebrews.
God continues to encourage the Hebrew Christians, and us by extension, to stay true to the course of following God. We've been warned about Drifting from the Word, Doubting the Word, and now Becoming Dull to the Word. In the course of the instruction we have been encouraged to leave the elementary teachings and those teachings were listed. We look at all that in this sermon and how our lives should look when we stay true to God's word.
We often hear about a "slippery slope" in politics or culture. The meaning is that one misstep leads to another as we decline down a slippery slope if error. This week we continue our study in the Book of Hebrews. In Hebrews 3:12-4:13 we see the Jewish Christians warned about letting their hearts be hardened as their ancestors were in the Wilderness. A hardening of the heart comes from doubting God's word. Listen as we talk about how Satan uses doubt to tempt us away from God. Additionally, we will examine several forms of doubt.
Few of us make a single decision to walk away from our relationship with God. Usually it occurs from a series of small steps away, a drift from the word, if you will. In this sermon we gain three reasons from Hebrews chapter 2 for staying steadfast in Jesus Christ.

When God gives us a task to do to further His kingdom on earth, it is easy for us to get overwhelmed. God gives God-sized challenges. But God does not expect us to accomplish His challenge within our own strength, wealth, or knowledge. He expects us to put our faith in Him and let Him work through us in through the infilling presence of the Holy Spirit. In 2 Chronicles 20, Jehoshaphat found himself in an impossible situation. Like the good, godly, king he was, he led his people to fast and pray. Listen to today's sermon to learn God's response and how the situation was resolved.

When we serve God using our motivational spiritual gift through our Holy Spirit given ministry, God brings a manifestation that glorifies Him and points to His existence and power. In this message we learn why we should pursue our spiritual gift and then the correct flow of the three categories of gifts. Today's scripture passage is II Corinthians 12:7-11

In Matthew chapter 16 Jesus asked of the disciples, "Who do you say that I am." to which Peter replied, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God." Jesus then said that He would build His church upon that foundation, that He is the Messiah and is the Son of God. We begin our study of the spirit-filled life by understanding we are Christ's church.
In 1 Corinthians 12 the Apostle Paul gives us an outline of three classes of spiritual gifts. In this week's sermon we look at Paul's breakdown of the gifts beginning with the Motivational Gifts that the Holy Spirit assigns to believers when they become a follower of Christ.

Using Proverbs 24:26 today's message is a look at what the Bible teaches about honesty. In this verse honesty is compared to a kiss on the lips. But there are several types of kisses. Using the various styles of kisses the Pastor relates that 1) We must be honest but 2) there are several ways honesty is delivered some preferred some not. Also looked at is Proverbs 27:6 which teaches that an enemy may give us profuse kisses (flattery) the helpful, though sometimes hurtful, kisses (constructive criticism) of a friend is faithful.

The prophecies of Jesus' birth occurred at a very dark time in Israel's history. Suffering under Roman occupation and the silence of God the Israelites had little reason to hope.
