The church in America today generally communicates with the culture in one of two ways. Either we preach the gospel without regard to the cultural and personal context, or we simply react defensively to the symptomatic cultural ills. Therefore, God often comes across as largely irrelevant to the everyday life of the average American. Consequently, the culture ends up regarding us, along with God, as out of touch or, even worse, dangerous. In light of this, if the Bible is true, and God really exists, we must conclude we have failed to effectively communicate God to our culture. Our hope is that through this podcast we can all learn to use the symptomatic felt issues within our culture as springboards to address what underlies the cultural mindset in which we live and breathe, our view of God. What we believe to be true about God will determine how we live and relate to those around us .
This podcast was created specifically for the listener who ardently desires to bring about wholesale change within the American cultural mindset. It is designed with the listener who wishes to help frame the message that could ultimately allow us to win the war, not just individual battles. It is designed for the listener who wants to put the cornerstone, God himself, back into his proper place as the foundation upon which the American social and moral experience can be erected once again. It’s time to return to the basics, but in a relevant and understandable manner. We will only win the war for the soul of America by making God the central issue within the culture. There is no longer any other way to win. Our hope is that this weekly podcast conversation will help us to frame the “God” issue in a way that our fellow Americans can more readily understand and except. We trust that our conversation will help us collectively to recapture the soul of America so we may become the nation that is a shining light on a hill. That was the dream of our forefathers, and it is our dream as well. Our prayer is that we may understand our times and know what to do. Thanks for tuning in to the “God is the Issue” podcast .
News Media or Narrative Media? In this issue Brad Bright exposes how large parts of the media have abandoned reporting the news in favor of interpreting the news. America’s News Media has largely metastasized into the Narrative Media. And by narrative, Brad means propaganda. Just like traditional propaganda the Narrative Media twists, omits, and invents facts in order to exploit your fears—to bypass your intellect.Fear is a powerful emotion. If they can scare you, they can control you. Then he highlights a recent example of the next ominous step: AI-generated “reality” that looks and feels real. AI will empower the Narrative Media to fabricate deceptive visual images that look and sound real. When those images connect with our deepestfears, they become a nearly irresistible siren’s song.Brad closes with the four specific things Christians can do to help inoculate themselves from falling for the fear-based narratives of the modern Narrative Media. Hey everyone, just wanted to give you a realtime update on where things stand with my cancer. There's a new tumor we're zapping with radiation this week. The last 18 months I’ve been off all the drugs because they created debilitating brain fog.

I'll give it a shot and keep you posted.Kathy shares her heart too—the tough balance of supporting my choices even when they mean a shorter time together. We're excited about meeting our first granddaughter soon. Brad’s big project this year is writing his dad’s (Bill Bright) biography. Cancer is part of our reality, but God is the bigger story. Therefore, whatever happens, we win.
In this eye-opening episode of the God Is the Issue Podcast, Brad Bright exposes how the original Seven Mountains Mandate—a vision given to his father Bill Bright and Loren Cunningham—has been hijacked and distorted into a dangerous pursuit of political power.
Bill Bright focused on proclamation not power. Proclaiming the Gospel to cultural gatekeepers as ambassadors of Christ. Accelerating the Great Commission by focusing on people not power. Today's version trades a fishing pole for a sword, replacing God's strategy with Man's strategy.
Discover the key differences. Power corrupts the heart; Jesus redeems it. True revival comes from reaching people, not conquering systems. The core problem is personal not systemic.

Charlie Kirk is gone. What comes next?
Brad Bright, for the first time, publicly reveals an event that occurred over 40 years ago that contributed to much of the political violence today. Then, looking at history, he makes a prediction about the long-term consequences of Charlie’s murder.
The next phase of the culture war has begun. But the real war is not about ideology, political parties or race. It’s about something far more fundamental. There will be a winner and there will be a loser.
Words matter. YOUR words matter.
From political rhetoric to everyday profanity, our words reveal more about our hearts than we often realize. Even secular think tanks like Third Way understand the power of language to influence. If words matter that much in politics, how much more do they matter in our walk with Jesus?
In this episode of the God is the Issue Podcast, Brad Bright asks a hard question: Are you a Christian In Name Only (ChINO)?
👉 What do YOUR words say about your faith?
👉 Do you love God enough to love His name?
👉 Are you following Jesus closely—or just saluting the cross from afar?

We hate the sin, but we often fail to love the sinner. Why is that? In today’s podcast, Brad Bright exposes the lie many Christians believe regarding how to love our enemies and those who offend us. There is only one way to do it, and we often miss it.
If we are to be “known by our love” God’s people must apply this key truth to every difficult relationship, both inside and outside the church.

Is the church in America truly ready for God to send revival? Brad Bright believes the seeker-focused church movement—though well-intentioned—has weakened the church. By sanitizing God’s truth in the name of love, many churches have made God “safe” instead of sacred.

✅ The dangers of seeker-focused church culture
✅ Why minimizing God’s holiness undermines truth
✅ How to follow Jesus AND fish for men without compromise
✅ Practical steps every believer can take to prepare for revival
C.S. Lewis once said: “God is not safe, but He is good.” If that’s true, then the church must rediscover what it means to be sacred, not just safe.

Jesus used two primary tools of persuasion. Unfortunately, many Christians use only one. In today’s podcast Brad shares a personal story about abortion to illustrate the importance of incorporating both. Exploring the intersection of faith, emotion and logic, he illustrates how arguments from emotion often trump rational debate. In a society that focuses on what works, rather than on what is true, your personal faith story of real life transformation can become a powerful apologetic for the Good News of Jesus.

The future of Western civilization depends on knowing the answer to a question most of us aren’t even asking. Dr. John Lennox once said we live in a culture of non-thinkers. Brad asked him how thinkers can communicate with non-thinkers. His answer was disappointing and sent Brad on a fifteen-year quest to discover the answer. Today, Brad discusses how modern culture has shifted from rational thinking to emotional-driven responses and how followers of Jesus can navigate discussions of faith, politics, and culture that are actually productive. Christians who are seeking ways to engage in spiritual dialogue in today’s polarized world will find his practical suggestions very effective and helpful!

In I Was Wrong About Christianity, Brad Bright challenges conventional beliefs about what it truly means to be a Christian. Drawing from his life growing up in a prominent Christian family, he explores the profound biblical definition of a Christian as someone who literally BELONGS TO Christ, not just follows Christ.
This insightful video invites viewers to rethink their faith in light of the Bible’s definition of the word, “Christian”—differentiating between who a Christian IS, and what a Christian DOES.
As Brad emphasizes, “God is the issue in every issue,” highlighting how our understanding of God shapes our lives, faith, and engagement with the world around us. Join the conversation and discover how this pivotal revelation can transform your relationship with God and your perspective on faith in today's complex political landscape.

The deportation of illegal immigrants is causing a rift in the Christian community. Some are for it and some oppose it. Both claim the moral high ground. The question is, as followers of Jesus, what should we do? How is God THE issue when it comes to compassion?

Dr. Richard Hays, the dean of Duke Divinity School once declared that homosexuality is “alienated from God’s loving purpose.” However, he recently revealed that God has changed His mind. Did He? Although most of us like to reserve the right to change our minds, when it comes to God—that’s a terrifying statement.
We will also explore the question: Why did Dr. Hays change his mind about God’s nature?
That’s the fascinating question.
We can trace all our human problems to our view of God.

Hamas is a terror organization whose distorted view of God drives everything they do. What is it about the way Hamas sees Allah that shapes their behavior and why is Donald Trump more effective in dealing with Hamas than Joe Biden was? In order to stay innocent, you also have to be shrewd, so that you don’t get sucked in by emotion-based arguments that seek to manipulate you.
Today we will look at 3 clips of Whoopi Goldberg revealing her true view of God and 3 things we can do to resist being conformed to the culture.

We ALL make mistakes as parents. Kathy and I made our share! She is joining me today as we talk about one of the big mistakes we made early on, how we realized it and what we did to correct it. We are so thankful we discovered it before it was too late.
Unfortunately, many parents in America made the same mistake but didn’t correct it. As a result, we see emotionally broken adults who behave like 3-years-olds—but with far more serious consequences—in their personal lives and in the culture.
There is hope! If we can do it, so can you!

If a person claims to be both a CHRISTIAN and PRO-CHOICE, what does that IMPLY about their view of God’s CHARACTER?” Have you ever thought about that question? The answer is FAITH SHATTERING and “pro-choice Christians,” although well-intentioned, need to use great CAUTION about imputing their FEELINGS onto God. More importantly they need to consider the drastic IMPLICATIONS of their opinion on the very character and nature of God. On the other hand, Pro-Life Christians need to learn to have constructive conversations with their Pro-Choice brothers and sisters regarding abortion.

The Christian life is like a glass of chocolate milk! The fact that so few Christians know why, is the reason multitudes are NOT accepting Christ. Non-Christians don’t see something in us that COMPELS them to want what we have. Think about it:

Do YOU even want what you have?

Romans 12:9 says, “Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them.”
There are three kinds of compassion we see these days. Pretend compassion. Blind compassion. Wise compassion. The first is false. The second seduces you. The third empowers you—and others.
In this podcast Brad Bright explores the three types of compassion and exposes how pretend compassion and blind compassion threaten our country. Do you know if your compassion toward the problem of illegal immigration is pretend, blind or wise? Find out.

You cannot believe everything Fox News, CNN, MSNBC or even your local newspaper tells you! And yet people do. Christians can be the worst offenders. Too often Christians fall for outright lies and salacious half-truths and then forward them on as truth. Would you like to know some RED FLAGS to look for that can quickly give you clues about the reliability of an article? That’s what I’ll address in this episode using and article Fox News ran last week about Wheaton College. Today we are asking two basic questions, Is White PrivilegeReal?
And How should I respond if someone says, “All Whites haveWhite Privilege.”
Let’s start with, Is White Privilege real?
Before I proceed any further, let me be clear: Racism is real.
Some whites truly hate blacks. Some blacks truly hate whites. Ditto for every other ethnic group.
But you can’t legislate hate away. You can’t shame hate away. The only way to get rid of ETHNIC HATE is by changing people’s hearts.
Hate is fundamentally a spiritual issue because it is aheart problem that denigrates the image of God in all of us.
It is a prime example of what the Bible calls sin. And if it is a spiritual issue, then thePRIMARY solution must be spiritual as well.
Trying to fix a primarily spiritual problem by applying an external systemic solution, is like trying to heal cancer with a Band-aid and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide.
The first problem with White Privilege is that Asian Americans and Jewish Americans have been able to do BETTER than Whites despite not having White Privilege.
The second problem with the term “White Privilege” is that it DEMONIZES ALL White people simply for the UNPARDONABLE SIN of being born White.
The third problem is that the term “White Privilege” assumesthe fundamental problem behind racism
is SYSTEMIC not personal or spiritual. The problem isexternal. Therefore, if you change thesystem,
you can change the individual person.
Christianity believes that racism is inherently a spiritualproblem. An individual sin problem. Therefore, you must first change the heart in order to change the system.
How should I respond when someone accuses me, or someone Iknow, of “White Privilege?”
First, recognize that it does not properly diagnose theproblem, because it ignores instances that don’t fit the model.
Second, recognize that is often intentionally weaponized tomake White folks shut up.
Third, recognize it assumes the problem is systemic, notpersonal or spiritual.
Finally, recognizing the accusation targets the emotionalcenter of your brain, not the logical part of your brain.
Frontal lobe. Seat of logic. Brain stem. Seat of emotion.
Understanding this is critical, because there are two basickinds of arguments. Arguments fromlogic.
Arguments from emotion.
Clarification: Arguments from emotion do NOT mean you getemotional. It means they target thebrain stem not the frontal lobe.
Once you say, “This in my Truth,” You win!
Let me say parenthetically that the whole concept of “MyTruth” and “Your Truth” is ridiculous.
But in order to be an effective communicator, I adopt thelanguage my audience understands.
If I don’t, I lose in the minds of my audience.
However, if you want to take the conversation the next step, once your accuser finally shrugs in defeat,
ASK: “Would you like to know what I think the real problem and solution is?”
Racism is fundamentally a spiritual problem - a problem ofthe heart, not a systemic problem.
It denies that we are ALL created in God’s image. And ifthat is true, then the solution has to be primarily a spiritual solution—aremedy that changes the heart.
I believe when Jesus said, “Do unto others as you would havethem do unto you,” he gave us the way out of this dilemma.
If Whites would TRY treat blacks the way they would want tobe treated, and if blacks would TRY treat Whites the way they want to betreated, we would eventually solve all the ethnic bickering.
But as long as we continue to DEMONIZE each other with termslike “White Privilege,” “Uncle Tom,” the problem will only get worse.
God is the issue, in every issue — especially the issue of White Privilege.

God Bless you as you seek to be salt and light in a verydark culture
Of all the podcasts I’ll do this year,
this one is by far the most important.
If you are not experiencing the Joy and PeaceJesus promised there is a reason why.
I don’t care if you have been a Christian50 years…
If the Christian life is not really working for you,
I can tell you what the problem is.
Do you want to know what is wrong with our culture?
It’s not the gays, the trans, the aborters, the socialists,
the secularists, the progressives.
No, the problem is the Church.
May I ask you a three questions?
If you read your Bible everyday for the next year,
do you think you might learnsomething NEW about God?
What would you like to knowabout God?
The answer is in the Bible.
Would you like to have morefaith?
Romans 10:17 says,
“Faith comes by hearing andhearing by the Word of God.”
Our informal slogan atBright Media is:
“You can do it, we can help.”
We want to help, but we can’t do it for you.
My dad wrote a book
unpacking the nature and character of God
in very practical ways:
God, Who Are You Anyway?
It discusses God’s love, justice, power, mercy
and many other attributes.
It answers two questions:
What is it?
What difference does it make in mylife?
(Does it WORK?)

PRAY. WORK. VOTE.It’s the beginning of a new election season. People are excited: politicians, reporters, and political junkies! But can you think of anyone else that is excited? Oh boy! I get to watch more political ads! But what is GOD’S PERSPECTIVE? Have you ever thought about that? God says we are stewards of everything He gave us. We can be a GOOD steward. Or we can be a BAD steward. In America, GOD gave each of us a vote. Have you ever thought about the fact that your ONE VOTEis a gift from the Creator GOD himself? He made you a steward of that one vote. He didn’t give it to anyone else. Just you. However, if you choose to do your part, working with the candidates that best align with your vision for America, you might just end up being able to vote for a godly candidate who seeks to live, speak and vote with their Bible open. Wouldn’t that be nice for a change? Now for those of you who are screaming “Separation of Church and State” right now. I can almost hear you. Your problem is, you don’t know Separation of Church & State is. You think you do but you have been LIED to. Separation of C& S means the government may neither REQUIRE nor CENSOR religious speech or practice. That is why the founders put in both an “Establishment” clause and a “Free Exercise” clause. Too many anti-God folks conveniently leave out the “Free exercise” clause, and they perpetuate the myth that Separation of C&S is a one-way street. You see this little booklet, “Your 7 Duties….”My dad first wrote this 45 years ago to help Christians better engage as salt and light in American culture. I revised it a few years ago to update it for the current cultural setting.Think of it as your starting TOOLBOX for helping to change America. You can order a pack so you can give it to your friends as well. You know that if you don’t know where to start, a lot of your friends have the same problem. BrightMedia.org And order your copy.Don’t wait. Get started today! In the future we will have a FREE e-Versionat BrightMedia.org God says we are stewards of everything he gives us. He gave each of us one vote. You can be a good steward. Or you can be a bad steward. But this election season, you are a steward of the vote He gave you. Never forget that. God is the issue—in every issue. Hate and Anger havebecome the hallmarkof American culture.
But the problem is not that thereis too much darkness.
The problem is there is not enoughlight.
The most recent group targeted
by the forces of unbridled hateare the Jews.
Antisemitism reigns on our universitycampuses.
College presidents at Harvard, UPenn and MIT,
when questioned by Congress,
refused to condemn the angry mobs
who demanded the genocide of Jews.
Another group it is nowfashionable to hate are
women athleteswho refuse to worship
at the altar of Trans Intersectional Supremacy.
When real women point outthat it is unfair
to allow biological males to competeagainst females,
(stealing their scholarships,opportunities, awards)
they’re attacked by misogynistic politicians& journalists
for being “anti-trans.”
The irony is anything but subtle.
Before that it was the One Percenters
who needed to “pay their fair share.”
Of course, we were never told whatwas “fair,”
because it was simply another strategy
to incubate anger and hatethroughout culture.
Before that is was a “basketfull of deplorables.”
Before that it was the Christians
who embraced biblical teachings,
including those about sexualbehavior.
Those who actually believed theBible,
were branded as, “Homophobes”and “haters.”
But it is even worse.
In the past decade,
Angry, hate filled people go wellbeyond words,
routinely dispensing violence.
May I l tell you a story
about a moment when Love overcame Hate
in the life of a woman
named Corrie Ten Boom?
In Summary:
How do you combat Hate with Love?
1) Pray for those who persecuteyou.
God can change a heart. You can’t.
2) Be quick to Listen
Seek to truly understand.
3) Be Slow to Speak.
If your mouth is open, you’re notlistening.
4) Be Slow to get Angry.
Darkness cannot overcome darkness.
This Christmas
you may be with some of those folks
who try to push your buttons.
These four steps will help you
build bridges rather than walls.
Remember:
The problem in America
is not that there is too much darkness;
the problem is there is not enough light.
Shine your light.
May you experience God’s lovethis Christmas,
as we celebrate the birth ofJesus.
And then pass it on to others.
God is the issue, in every issue—
especially when it comes to overcominghate.

THE 2023 GRINCH AWARDSGod is the Issue Podcast with Brad BrightToday I am giving the Grinch Award to a very deserving company. I’m sure you all remember the story, How the Grinch Stole Christmas? by Dr. Seuss? The Grinch couldn’t stand Christmas. so he decided he would steal it. Do you realize there are real life Grinches? People who hate Xmas. Companies who hate Xmas. They want to get rid of it. They may not look like the Grinch, but they think like him. Think about the places where you shop. Would you say that any of them “GRINCH” on XMAS? Yes, I just used “Grinch” as a verb. It’s powerful as a verb. You can see it. You can feel it. You can touch it. You can smell it. You can taste it. Before you jump to conclusions, let me say that BOYCOTTING is not the answer. However, you do need good information. In light of that, today, I am going to present the Grinch Award for 2023,to the company who best personifies the spirit of the Grinch. Here are some of the criteria I used in determining the winner:Do they replace the word “Christmas” with the word “Holiday?” Do they forbid their employees from saying “Merry Christmas?”Do their websites pitch “Holiday” this-and-that, but rarely or never mention “Christmas?”Do they hijack Christmas as a platform to promote causes that offend the God of Xmas?Every company has the right to honor, ignore or demean Christmas as they see fit. However, as a consumer, you have the right to spend your money WHERE you see fit. This year as you go Xmas shopping, visit the websites of the stores that sell the products you want. Walk into the store. Look around. Do they embrace Christmas? Do they Ghost Xmas? Do they hijack Xmas?Do they sexualize Xmas? Then ask the GOD of XMAS what He wants you to do. It’s between you and God. Not you and your pastor. Not you and your spouse. Not you and your doctor. Just You and GOD. You can be a part of the solution.Your money can be a tool to promote what’s Good.WHERE you spend your money, is just as important as HOW you spend your money.Look for ALTERNATIVES. But remember, don’t get angry at the Grinches for being Grinches.Their problem is not their behavior, their problem is their hearts. Their hearts are 3 SIZES TOO SMALL.Only God can fix that. You do your part and let God do His. I pray that you may experience the true meaning of Xmas this year.as you remember God’s gift to you— a newborn baby in a manger. Remember: GOD is the issue—in every issue. This is Brad Bright. RESPONDING TO QUESTIONS FROM THE 3 REASONS BILL MAHER WANTS GOD TO EXISTLINK TO EPISODE: https://youtu.be/InEQl1s0APsBrad Answers questions from the episode, The 3 Reasons why Bill Maher Wants God to Exist. The questions are asked by his wife Kathy Bright.LINK TO EPISODE: https://youtu.be/InEQl1s0APsQ: You can be an atheist and be moral!Q: Christians are basically selfish. They behave so they can go to heaven and earn points with God.Q: You’re quite happy to point out the good Christians have done but none of the bad and conversely all the negative things atheists have done but none of the good.Q: You’re happy to drag out Joseph Stalin and Chairman Mao for their atrocities but give no mention to the various witch trials and Inquisitions throughout history which only could have existed because of the Christian worldview of the time.Q: You give credit to Christians for fighting to end slavery in the Civil War and yet it was also Christians that fought to defend slavery in the Civil War.Q: You ask, “Why are people obligated to follow moral laws?”Q: Why in the world would I want an all-powerful, inconsistent authoritarian power in the sky reading all my thoughts? Why would I want a god who could end so much 'natural' suffering (disease, famine, droughts, natural disasters) in an instant, but actively chooses not to? Q: The fact of the matter is, just about any conceivable group of people with a large enough sample size has contributed positively and negatively to the world. P.T. Barnum purportedlysaid, “There are two kinds of people in the world, con men and suckers. Thank God for the suckers.”
Today we’re going to talk aboutsuckers. Unfortunately, many Christiansare suckers, and thereforeare easily manipulated.
I’m going to tell real life stories about the various ways we are manipulated, and how sometimes we are our own worst enemies. The final story is just from this past weekwhen I realized I’d been sucker for years—and had no idea. At the end, I’m going to give you three questions to ask yourself and others to help make sure you aren’t a Christian sucker.
In effect, we are going to talk about what Jesus meant in Matthew 10:16 when he commanded his followers to “be a shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.” In modern parlance, Jesus might well of commanded his followers, “Keep your hearts pure, but don’t be suckers.”
There are many areas where we needto be shrewd:
Lies, Half-truths, Rumors,Innuendo and Spin.
They overlap, but I list them tohelp you better define in your own mind what to look for.
Being shrewd doesn’t just happen. It is a deliberate process.
3 BASIC QUESTIONS:
1) HOW DO I/YOU KNOW THIS IS TRUE?
2) IS THIS INFORMATION FROM A PROVEN RELIABLE SOURCE?
3) HAVE I CONFIRMED IT FROM A SECOND RELIABLE SOURCE?
The Bible is very clear,
you need at least two separate sources (2 witnesses)
to confirm truth.
DON’T BE A CHRISTIAN SUCKER.
BECAUSE SUCKERS ARE EASILYMANIPULATED.
BE SHREWD as Jesus commanded.
And remember,
part of being shrewd
is realizing that God really isthe issue
—in every issue
Many listeners had questions regarding my recent podcast, Israel & Hamas: What’s a Christian to Do? on the current conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Others had questions regarding my podcast entitled, The Three Reasons Bill Maher Wants God to Exist.
It was impossible to fully answer some of the questions in the comment section
so I decided to do a follow up podcast to answer them in more detail.
So why can’t they share it? Is there just one GOD?
**What would we non-native Americans do if Native Americans gathered together to take America back?
Palestine was divided after WW2 against their wishes**. ITS IN THE HISTORY BOOKS.
** It all changes once you add the God factor to it. If you don’t then you can use human history to argue it but if you believe in God you know it was promised to the Jews…period.
**Mohammed never said, “Kill the Infidel.”
Let me end this podcast by condensing the TEACHINGS of Jesus into 8 words:
Love God.
Love your neighbor.
Love your enemies.
God IS the issue in every issue—including the current Israel/Hamas conflict.

Today we’re going to talk about
John Lennon and Bill Maher
and where they all got the “God-thing” allwrong.
My goal today is not to convinceyou or them
that God does exist,
but to convince you that you WANT God toexist.
There are THREE reasons
why I believe Bill Maher WANTSGod to exist.
He just doesn’t know it
—yet.
And by “God,”
I don’t mean some fairytaleGod
you make up in order to makeyourself feel better.
I mean the God of Abraham,Issac, and Jacob.
I mean the God who said, “Loveyour neighbor.”
I mean the God who died on a cross
and came back to life again to prove hisdeity.
I mean the God of the Bible
that Speaker Johnson referred to.
THE FIRST REASON YOU WANT GOD TO EXIST
IS BECAUSE HIS FOLLOWERS
HAVE CHANGED YOUR LIFE FOR THE BETTER.
Now that the Beatles areback in the news
with their latest release, “Nowand Then,”
I want to start by quoting John Lennon
from his song, “IMAGINE,”
the one we hear every New Year’sEve.
Then I want to ask YOU to imagine
what life would really look like
if John Lennon got his wish.
IMAGINE, by John Lennon
“Imagine there’s no heaven.
It’s easy if you try.
No hell below us,
Above us, only sky
“Imagine no religion.”
Let’s imagine for the next fewminutes
there is no heaven, no hell, noreligion,
and by implication, no God, No CHRISTIANS.
What would that look like?
The Second Reason
You Want God to Exist is
because if He doesn’t then
SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
is the only remaining
Basis for Morality.
How do you get from “Survival of the Fittest”
to “Love your neighbor?”
How do you get from “Survival of the Fittest”
(where the fitsurvive and the weak die)
to “Be Kind?”
If Survival of the Fittest is the basis of morality,
then Stalin, PolPot, Mao, Hitler
and even theInquisition did nothing wrong.
In fact, they advanced the Evolutionary struggle,
and therefore whatthey did was Good.
The Third Reason
You Want God to Exist is
because if He doesn’t then
MORALITY IS A FAIRTYTALE
just like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny
If God does not exist,
there is NO RATIONAL SOURCE
for MORAL OBLIGATION
Sure, you can make up asystem of morality
that works for you.
The problem is,
why am I REQUIRED to embrace YOURmorality?
What in the universe OBLIGATES me
to abide by a system
that you and your friends make up?
So to John Lennon and Bill Maherlet me say:
You want God to exist because hisfollowers
have changed your life for thebetter.
You want God to exist because ifHe doesn’t
“Survival of the Fittest” is the only remainingbasis
for morality.
You want God to exist because ifHe doesn’t
morality is a fairytale,
just like Santa Claus or theEaster Bunny.
God IS the issue in every issue—especiallymorality.

Is God Really in Control When Bad Things Happen?
Many of you know I have cancer. I’ve been living with it for 3 years.
Most people, when they find out I have cancer Usually say something like, “I’m so sorry.” I appreciate that.I really do. However, cancer has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. These past 3 years HAVE been hard. But I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
It all boils down to thesovereignty of God. By that I mean, God really is in control, even when I experience hard things. Especially, when I experience hard things.
Today, I’m just going to tell a few stories. Stories from the life of the man I admired more than any other. Through those stories I’m going to unpack God’s sovereignty in the hard moments oflife. If you’re like me, they will encourage you as you face the challenges in your life.
Today, October 19, is my dad’s 102nd birthday. He’s celebrated his last 21 birthdays in heaven. 3 months ago the doctor said thecancer in my lymph nodes had pretty much disappeared. He said that what was left was probably benign.
The only remaining spot was in my bone. He said he could go after that with high dose radiation. I’m not out of the woods. I still have cancer. It could metastasize again without warning. But I have chosen to EMBRACE the will of our sovereign God. Whether I live or whether I die, nothing can happen to me apart from His sovereign will. I learned THAT from watching mydad face deep disappointment, facing the deaths of people he loved, and facinghis own death.
Folks, when you receive HARD NEWS andcan say, “Thank you Lord,” When you can say in your PAIN, “I’mrejoicing in the Lord,” When you can say in your DESPAIR, “Blessed be the name of the Lord,”
That’s what it means to EMBRACE the will of our sovereign God.
God is the issue—in every issue.
Folks, I am tired of the Freedom From Religion crowd LYING to America about our religious freedom.
Today I am going to SHRED their arguments and show how you can use Separation of C&S to argue FOR Religious speech.
A couple weeks ago, Auburn’s head football coach, HughFreeze, helped baptize about 200 students on the spur of the moment.
It was completely voluntary.
But immediately, the Freedom from Religion Foundation, from way up in Madison, Wisconsin, cried foul.
Let me quickly unpack this for you and then I want to PLAY and SHRED 3 clips for you from atheist podcaster, Kyle Kulinski.
Coach Freeze should be applauded and supported for his authenticity.
He loves Jesus. He loves the students, and it shows.
Jesus said we should shine our light.
That’s all Coach Freeze was doing.
In a day when most Christians hide their light, folks, this guy’s an inspiration.
My dad, Bill Bright, once said, “The average Christian risks offending God, for fear of offending man.”
Not coach Freeze.
There are a lot of folks in addition to Kyle and FFRF that are trying to keep you from shining your light….
We should all seek to be more like Coach Freeze and start shining our light where God has planted us.
Not only is the future of our country at stake, but the eternal souls of our neighbors are at stake.
Do you love your neighbors enough to take the risk to shine the light of Jesus in the darkness?
Coach Freeze, you’re now one of my heroes.
So, this is for you from a CU fan.

This is Brad Bright and the GITI podcast where we show how God is the issue in every issue.
We can trace all our human problems to a broken view of God.
And that’s why we say that the problem in America today is not
that there it too much darkness, The problem is there is not enoughlight.
Today we are talking about what the Gov. of New Mexico did and said last week.
Politicians often say crazy things, but New Mexico Gov. Lujan Grisham
recently crossed the line, from crazy to dangerous!
Honestly, I don’t think she even realizes the implications of what she said
and the devastating cultural implications.
But by the end of this podcast, you will, and you will know what you can do!
What’s the solution?
YOU are the solution.
Only YOU can bring God backinto the conversation in your home,
your neighborhood, and your community.
The choice is simple.
The choice is yours.
You can start this coming Halloween by giving the children who knock on your door, both what they want and what they need.
Give them a piece of candy along with your favorite gospel tract for children.

A lot of Christians are reacting again.
This time, because some folks are using
ChatGPT to rewrite the Bible.
Now, of course, that’s not a good thing…
However, I’m encouraged. Let me explain why.
Oscar Wilde, who wrote The Picture of Dorian Gray, said,
“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”
Most of us have heard that quote,
and maybe even uttered it.
However, that is not the complete quote.
Mr. Wilde’s full statement is a bit more—
shall we say, descriptive.
But I will circle back to that in a few moments.
First, let me say, that if Oscar Wilde was right,
then Christians should feel very flattered.
So, if you are concerned about ChatGPT twisting scriptures,
start viewing it as an opportunity to
engage the people around you in spiritual conversations
about what the Bible DOES say.
Not by LECTURING them with your finger in the air,
but by graciously offering them something better.
However, unlike the federal government,
you can’t give away what you don’t own.
So, make sure you are daily and weekly,
equipping yourself to have those spiritual conversations,
by being in God’s Word.
God is the issue—in every issue.
So, let’s use ChatGPt
to go out and MAKE him the issue.

This is Brad Bright and the God is the Issue Podcast….
The problem in America today isnot that there is too much darkness,
The problem is there is not enoughlight.
You see, we can trace all ourhuman problems
to a broken view of God.
That is why we always say, God is the issue—in every issue.
A friend gives you a bottle ofpure spring water.
As you are getting ready to drinkit they say,…..
How much dog poop is too much,
before you say you won’t drink it?
Remember, the problem in America
is not that there is too much darkness.
The problem is there is not enough light.
Together we can make a difference.
God is the issue—in every issue.

Today I will be talking about the Border, Compassion and Jesus.
I am going to talk about what’s going on at the border,
what it means to be compassionate on this issue, and what Jesus has to do with it.
The same Jesus who said,
“Blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy,”
also said,
“Be as shrewd as snakes but as innocent as doves.”
In other words, compassion without wisdom is folly.
Many open-border folks accuse
build-the-wall folks of lacking compassion.
But those who wish to throw the border wide open lack wisdom.

I’ve Blown It Too: Jesus, Politics, and the Gospel
Our country is tearing itself apart. Even within the Church, there are competing ideas about what we should do.
Today I want to talk about that.
Jesus gave all 3 commands. You can’t follow Jesus and embrace 2 his commands but ignore the 3rd. You either do what he asked you to do, or you don’t. Partial obedience is also partial disobedience.
We do this by making God’s heart our heart, both for the hurting AND the lost. Just like Jesus.
God is the issue—in every issue.
00:00 Intro 00:45 Billy Graham Quote 1:40 Jesus gave us Primary Commands 5:32 Leaders of the Abolitionist Movement 8:46 What does it mean to love God …
Christians, the Constitution, and our BIGGEST mistake!
Romans 13:1 says,
“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities.”
Does that mean that apart from clear violations of scripture
we have to do everything we are told to do
by any government official?
Does it mean you can’t gather to worship during COVID
simply because a government official say, “NO!”?
Does “Separation of Church and State” really mean
you can’t pray or talk about God or the Bible in the classroom?
Does it mean a high school coach
can’t pray on the 50-yard line
because a school administrator tells him “No!”?
Is it ever okay with GOD
to engage in civil disobedience?
Is it even civil disobedience
to disobey a government official
in order to UPHOLD the US Constitution?
Great questions. Let’s talk about it.

7:13 Why do I even address this issue?
9:56 But here’s the catch,
A great man once told me:
“If you don’t need the credit, you can change the world.”
In today’s world,
where the desire for power, prestige, and fame
are as prevalent inside the church
as they are outside its walls,
that statement caught my attention.
The man who shared that bit of wisdom with me
actually did change the world,
but most people don’t even know his name,
and the thing is,
he would be totally fine with that.
As his son, however,
I hope you will indulge me as I share who he was
and 4 things I learned from watching him
changed my life.
Not just my life, but the lives of millions.
To this day, wherever I travel,
in all corners of the globe,
the one thing I hear, again and again and again, is:
“Brad, your dad changed my life.”
Remember:
If you don’t need the credit, you can change the world.
Make sure you know who God really is
—not just who you think he is.
Work hard to keep your focus in the right place
—fix your eyes on Jesus.
Seek to love Jesus passionately.
That was Bill Bright’s real genius.

Pride Month 2023 is almost over.
I can almost feel the collective sigh of relief.
For the past month secular culture
has been aggressively PUSHING its godless sexuality
on you and your family.
The question is: What now?
I’m Brad Bright
and this is the GOD is the Issue podcast,
where we show that
GOD really is the issue in every issue.
I have great news for you!
There are 4 significant things
YOU can do in response to Gay Pride Month.
But first, let’s talk about what’s going on:
what HAS happened, and
where we go from here.
Clearly understanding the situation
is always the first step in changing culture.
In this battle, one side WILL win,
and one side WILL lose.
So, my question for you is:
Which side do you want to be on?
Which side do you want your kids on?
If you want to be on the winning side,
you need to engage.
Yes, YOU!
We NEED to fight. We MUST fight.
But we need to fight like Jesus.
What does that even mean?
He never compromised TRUTH,
but He also never compromised LOVE.
What you believe about God
will determine which one you believe is true.
That’s true of all your neighbors and co-workers.
4 RECOMMENDATIONS:
So here are my 4 recommendations
for how to respond to Pride Month:
1) Vote. Especially vote in every school board election.
Better yet, run for your local school board,
or recruit someone else to run.
(LeadershipInstitute.org)
2) Vote with your wallet.
Use your wallet to encourage good behavior,
and to discourage bad behavior.
Be intentional about thinking this way
until it becomes second nature.
3) Make God the issue—in every issue.
There’s nothing wrong with
racism, abortion, or same-sex-marriage
—unless God exists.
4) Pray.
God is smarter and stronger
than you will ever be.
You are foolish not to consult with Him.
If you will begin to intentionally do these 4 things,
I believe we can begin to turn America around
—one community at a time.
God IS the issue.

Fight for YOUR right to Parent [the 2 battles you MUST win]
As we celebrate Father’s Day this year,
I am acutely aware.
that our GOD-GIVEN rights as parents
are under assault.
Your children do not belong to the gov’t.
Your children do not belong to the LBGTQ.
Your children do not belong to your neighbor.
Your children do not belong to your pastor.
God gave your children to you.
Every parent should be alarmed.
They are coming for YOUR sons and daughters.
We must fight to hold onto our God-given right
to parent our children.
However, as I look at our culture,
the harsh reality is, there’s another,
even more important battle we are losing
—and we are losing badly.
So, my friends,
let’s fight for our God-given right
to parent our children.
But never forget to fight every day
for the time to parent your children well.
Fight for the time to pray for them.
Fight for the time to
develop your own relationship with God,
so you can model for your children
what it looks like.
SHOW your kids that God IS the issue,
in every area of life.
If you need a tool to help you do that,
Kathy and I wrote a family devotional,
Because God is Awesome!,
to help parents just like you
have conversations with their kids
about who God is and why it matters in their lives.

HOW TO FIGHT LIKE JESUS
The question is, can Christians effectively fight the anti-God agenda without compromising God’s standards? Let me reframe that another way— Can we fight like Jesus?
Yes! It’s been done before and we can do it again— IF we: work together are bold, are shrewd, as Jesus commanded in Matt 10:16
In any situation you we either rollover, react or reframe. We can: “Surrender” say, “Stop it!” Or you can say, “Stop me if you can!”
Too many of our troops are on defense. They are saying, “Stop it!”
We need to go on offense, forcing the other side to try to stop us, just like Jesus did.
Sometimes you have to play defense. Sometimes you have to say “Stop it!” But when you spend the majority of your time saying, “Stop it!” instead of saying, “Stop me if you can,” it is practically impossible to win. If you are not on offense, you can’t win.
That’s why the Apostle Paul never told pagans to change their behavior. He always challenged them to change their God.
That’s offense. I’m not saying, “Never play defense.” I’m saying, “Play more offense.”
Everywhere we turn today there is a battle being waged against: our values, our children, our families, our country and even God, Himself.
It is impossible for you to engage on every battle front. But here are a few questions we must each ask ourselves:
Do I want to play on defense or offense? Most Christians are playing defense.
Who can I link arms with? Jesus always sent out his disciples in pairs…. Never go alone. Go together.
What’s our plan? Don’t do “Ready, Fire, Aim” Invade Townhalls—Love Your Neighbor? Invade School board mtgs – Love Your Neighbor?
Have we saturated it with prayer? Do you think you are stronger than God?
There was one more revival coming to America, and that it would be characterized by love.
It will be another Jesus Revolution. It will be a Counter-Offensive of Love— sharing the love of Christ, both in word and deed.
Given the HATE AND ANGER that permeates our culture today, the Love of Christ is radically counter-culture.
Will you join the next Jesus Revolution of Love? Will you come help change the world? Or will you stay in the safety of the bleachers and watch it happen?
The choice is yours.
Let’s make the next Jesus Revolution, a true counter-offensive of love!
If you want to be a part of the next Jesus Revolution, I’m going to ask you to do 3 things. 1) like, share and subscribe to this podcast. That helps us get the message out because of the algorithms.
2) get on your knees tonight and ask God to show how you can go on offense. If you’re serious, He will.
3) recruit others to come with you. This is absolutely critical. Jesus always brought others with him. So, Fight like Jesus— first on your knees and then Together.
If you have any questions, or you just want to tell me what God is telling you to do, go to BrightMedia.org and send me a message. I’ll do my best to get back to you in a timely fashion.

Last week a guy by the name of Randy took issue with myMemorial Day podcast. I suggested wecould honor the fallen by praying for our country and by voting. He commented, “I think it’s our obsessive belief in the ballot box that hasdiminished the Great Commission for many Christians.” Do you agree or disagreewith Randy? Does he have a valid point?
Mother Theresa invested her life in helping the dying poor of Calcuttato die with dignity because they were beings created in the very image of God.She was certainly obsessive about it. I’m glad she was. I suspect Randy is too.
William Wilberforce, a devout Christian who was a member of the BritishParliament in the early 1800’s, lead the charge to end the slave tradethroughout the British Empire. He destroyed his health in the process. He wasobsessive about it. I’m glad he was.
I suspect Randy is too.
The Apostle Paul said, “To live is Christ!” That’sobsessive. I suspect Randy would agree that most Christians in America probablycannot relate to the Apostle Paul on this point. Their hearts are lukewarm.
Our primary calling as followers of Jesus is theGreat Commission.
But as faithful stewards of everything God givesus, it does not stop there.
Randy, thanks again for your heartfelt comments. Your PASSION for theGreat Commission is in the right place.

#17: Culture-Proofing Your Kids
The culture is working hard, every day, to hijack your kids. Imagine your son or daughter turning 21 and saying, “Mom, dad, God is irrelevant to my life.” You did everything you knew to do, but it wasn’t enough. How will you feel? Join Brad as he unpacks what you can do to culture proof your kids.

#15: Be A Leader, Not A Loner
Loners are losers—not because they’re bad people, but because the only way to change culture is by working in close unison with others. Jesus never sent his disciples out alone, except for one time. Why? The Apostle Paul always brought companions with him on his missionary journeys? Why? What does history teach us about necessity of working with others to create change? Brad unpacks the tremendous power of working together with others and how you can implement this principle in your own life.
#14: Is It A Sin NOT To Vote?
Is it a sin to not vote? Have you ever wondered about that question? What does God actually say? The Bible makes the issue very clear. Join Brad as he unpacks Jesus’ words in Matthew chapter 25 and applies them to one of our most basic duties as Christian citizens in a constitutional republic.
#13: Love In An Angry Culture Part 2
#2 of 2-Part Series: If a blind man steps on your toe, does it hurt? But are you offended? When Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” what did he mean? What did he not mean? The Apostle Paul never told pagans to change their behavior; he always told them to change their god. Why? How do you have a conversation with a person who thinks you are a “hater” simply because you follow Jesus? What is love really? Brad discusses all these questions and more.
#12: Love In An Angry Culture Part 1
#1 of 2-Part Series: Secular culture almost daily accuses Christians of being unloving and even hateful. When we stand up for unborn children, we are accused of hating the mother. When we defend biblical morality, we are accused of hating homosexuals. When we support the police, we are accused of being racists. How should we respond? What is love anyway? Is it a feeling? Is it a choice? Is it romance? Is it self-sacrifice? It is honesty? Is it kindness?
#11: Know Your Enemy
Do you have enemies? If you are a genuine follower of Jesus you do. He, Himself, told us, “If the world hates you, remember it hated me first…. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you” (John 15:18-19). Jesus had enemies; therefore, you have enemies. However, the critical question is, how did Jesus respond to His foes? Sometimes he humiliated them, other times he was amazingly gentle. Brad talks about what Jesus modeled and how we can apply that to our daily lives.
#10 Public Education Incubating Violence - Part 2
#2 of 2-part series: In the last show of God is the Issue, we discussed the many problems plaguing public education, including its sad demise into a system that incubates violence. What consequences do we have to face? What's the solution, and how can we bring God back into the picture? We'll address these questions this week as we continue talking about Public Education and how we can make God the Issue in this conversation.
#9 Segregation Of Church And State
America has kicked religion to the back of the bus. The Separation of Church and State has degenerated into Segregation of Church and State. Brad unpacks what the Founding Fathers intended and how the forces of radical secularism subverted the Constitution to censor rather than protect religious speech. What do we do - CENSOR or PROTECT? Join us to learn why it's important that Christians bring God back into public realms AND make God the issue!
#8 Public Education Incubating Violence - Part 1
#1 of 2-part series: The Public school system, when first established the bible was the key literary resource and prayer was intricately involved in the school day. A place where all could learn moral behavior and the three R’s. But then the 60’s came and they threw God out of the schools and the bible along with him. Where did that lead us? Troubled kids without great education and with no basis of morality. Public education today is the incubation center of violence where hope is dashed and life is meaningless. We talk today about Public Education and how we can make God the Issue in this conversation.
#7 Fighting the Culture War – Your First Duty as a Christian Citizen
Today, Brad Bright talks about the most important thing you can do as a Christian citizen, something we often ignore. If we don’t get the fundamentals right, the will to win is not enough. That’s why Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardy began every training camp holding up a football accompanied by these words, “Gentlemen, this is a football.” If you want to change culture, where must you start? And what will happen if you don’t?

#6 The Constitution is King – Where Christians owe their allegiance
Romans 13:1 commands, “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established” (NIV). When these words were penned, one man ruled supreme in the Roman Empire—Caesar. But what does this passage mean for Christians today who live in a Constitutional Republic like the United States? Brad Bright’s insight is compelling, challenging, and critical to understand as the battle for America’s heart and soul intensifies.
#5 Putin is a hero, only if…
Putin’s ruthless attempt to subjugate the people of Ukraine horrifies all but the most callous among us. Today Brad explores the harsh reality that Putin is a hero (no matter how seemingly monstrous his actions may be) if a widely accepted modern scientific theory is the basis for morality.
#4 Abortion—Who does God love more?
The “Is it a Child or is it a Fetus?” debate is over. Even Whoopi Goldberg and Joe Biden recently referred to the fetus as a “child.” When an abortion is performed, a child dies. It is settled science. Therefore, the question we must answer is: Who does God love more, the mother or her unborn child? Brad discusses the current Supreme Court decision and how to make GOD the issue across the abortion divide.
#3 Jesus—the Master of Spin
Are you uncomfortable with the thought of Jesus as the “Master of Spin?” Most people are until they hear this message from Brad. You will be amazed at how shrewd Jesus was in “spinning” His message. You might just be inspired to apply His principles to your own conversations! If we want to be light in the darkness, we too must become masters of spin.
#2 Fighting the Symptoms or Winning the War?
As a Christian in the midst of cancel culture, do you ever feel like you are playing Whack-a-mole, or like Don Quixote tilting with windmills? Abortion, homosexuality, transsexuality, divorce, racism, socialism, economics, illegal immigration, greed, poverty, lying, cheating, stealing and violence… the list goes on and on… is there a way to address the issues and actually win?
#1 GOD is the Issue—in EVERY Issue!
Is GOD really THE most important issue in the culture today? Bill Bright, founder of the largest Christian mission organization of the 20th century, said this: We can trace all our human problems to our view of God. Is that true? In this introductory podcast Brad shares his personal journey to discovering that God really is THE issue in EVERY issue. There IS hope for America and the world!
