God is our Father and Creator; therefore, we value worshipping him and living in his love, according to his design. This looks like introducing people to the Father who would do anything to find us, knowing His nurturing trust and practical help and letting our lives be shaped by Him - as clay in a potter's hand. It also involves hearing the Father’s voice, and listening out for His songs of love over us.Passage; Isaiah 63:7-64:12; Luke 15:11-32

We discover that, though Christ has freed us from both the penalty of sin and the power of sin, we still have a sinful nature that inclines us to sin. In Genesis 4 we are provided with a couple of case studies of humanity's dramatic spiral away from God's blueprint for life in the garden of Eden. Cain's distress at God's apparent disfavour opens a door for the sins of jealousy and resentment, resulting in the murder of his brother Abel. In 8 amazing verses we have God’s blueprint – we are made for relationships. Humanity works best when humanity is working together, serving and building towards God’s good works on the earth. This has its out-workings in marriage and family, of course. But it is also apparent in how we do community together and the church community is to reflect our journeying back to the blueprint.

We see divine acceleration in Acts as missionaries from Cyprus and Cyrene pushed beyond the boundaries and took the gospel to the Greeks in Antioch. God is wanting to bring divine acceleration in each of us - there's always more, more growth, more opportunities. He's looking for acceleration in pioneering as we are 'dreamers who do' (acting on the dreams he gives us). Finally, we are looking for divine acceleration as we seek to plant in East Leeds and work into other nations. The key for it all will be prayer - a movement of prayer in CCL.

Peter is about to call us to make every effort, the other side of the partnership we introduced in week 1. But first he makes clear that this is a response on our part – ‘in view of all this’ – in view of the faith God put in our hearts, in view of his grace and kindness, in view of his provision and promises, how shall we respond? That’s the tone, lest we read the following list of urgings as a series of demands. Plant your roots deep lay into faith, Peter says, and watch as these 7 virtues grow and produce fruit, reaching up to love as the crowning glory of the Christian life.
