In Acts 27 and 28 the Apostle Paul goes through deep trouble. While on his way to Rome he encounters a storm that is beyond his control. So often this happens in our lives. Ryan walks us through three ways Paul finds hope in his storm, and ultimately how we can find hope in ours.

Luke 18:9-14. The idea of Lost and Found is all over the Bible. On the last night of Beach Camp we see two people again. Although these two are not related, they are just like the older and younger brother in Luke 15. What does it mean to be lost? And when we realize it, how can we be found?
Luke 15:25-32. We end our study of the Prodigal Son by seeing the story of the older brother. This is the part of the story where Jesus wants us to listen the most carefully. We must see the sinful heart of the older brother, so that we can truly see ourselves, and then, finally, we can see Jesus.
Luke 15:11-24. Now we look at Jesus' most famous parable: The Prodigal Son. The first half of the story is devoted to the Father and his youngest son. We see a lot of ourselves in this younger brother, but what we so often miss, is how much his Father loves him.
Luke 15:1-10. What does it mean to be lost? What does it mean to be found? This summer at Beach Camp we went through Luke 15 and the story of the Prodigal Son. But before we get to Jesus' most famous parable, he lays the groundwork with two earlier stories: The Lost Sheep and The Lost Coin.

Jesus asks His disciples: "Who do you say that I am?" He's not trying to quiz us. He's not trying to catch us in a trap. Jesus wants us to realize that unless we see Him as our truest and closest friend, we have missed His heart for us.
We are spending some time in Matthew 11:28-30. Jesus is Gentle and Lowly. He invites all who need Him to come to Him.
The world has so many mixed messages about self-care. Many of these methods only make us feel worse. PVN Students Intern Bryon Schirner walks us through what the Bible teaches about taking care of ourselves.

In chapter 4 of Ruth we meet a new character, but we never learn his name! This is a big point as this person is used by the author to teach us something about what we value, and how sometimes God has to help us let go, so that we can have something much better: Himself.
In order to get Boaz to acts as Kinsman Redeemer, Naomi sets out a plan. This plan depends totally on Boaz and Ruth being willing to make big sacrifices, and ultimately, on God's grace.
Graduates are facing a very strange road ahead. New challenges, new rules, new unknowns. But the love that God has for us is the same. His love is not only constant, but it powerfully guides our life. Disease and confusion will never have the last word.

We always think of Zaccheus as the short man who climbed a tree. But when we do this, we are focusing on the outside of the story instead of the inside. And that is Luke's whole point.

James dedicates almost an entire chapter in his letter to the power of words. Words seem small, but they have the ability to do big things. Awesome big things, or terrible.
Our words are powerful tools that can build or destroy. Every part of human existence is caused by or surrounded by words. Join us as we spend time in James chapter 3 and Psalm 86 talking about...talking!

So many people date just to date. This creates a casual view of sex, intimacy, emotional connection, and a lazy view of people in general. God's Word calls us to a much higher and more fulfilling view when it comes to relationships.

As Saul is crowned King of Israel, God continues to pursue His people in love. We choose other Kings instead of God every day and deny His provision and goodness. But even though we turn from God, He nevers turns away from us.
We all search for a King. Someone or soemthing that we find rest in, that makes us feel worthy and loved, that protects us. We also all search for a King in all the wrong places. But in love, God has been showing us the One True King all along.

Fear is something we all struggle with. It clouds our judgement and makes us doubt. But God is faithful and forgiving. When we see Him for who He truly is - a mighty warrior who can save us and protect us - fear doesn't stand a chance.

Jonah is not about Jonah. In fact, the main focus is on God's love for the city Jonah cannot stand: Ninevah. God's love for Ninevah overcame every obsacle. Just like His love for you.
Instead of being swallowed up by the sea, God allowed Jonah to be swallowed up by "a Great Fish." Jonah then began to pray in the darkest of places. Bob shows us why this prayer was so important for Jonah, and even more important for us.
Like so many of us, Jonah knew God's will for his life, and chose to run from it. Bob discusses this sinful action, but then shows the breathtaking kindess of God, as He pursues us instead of turning away.
In a fallen world, suffering and darkness are a part of the Christian life. Sometimes we just do not have the answers, but God knows, and Ryan explains why that is more than enough.
In suffering we think God has turned His back, but the Cross is God's promise that He will never turn away. Ryan shows the value of God's promises through Abraham and his only son, Isaac.
