This week, there is no theme, so I decided to do a freestyle with rap to Eminem's song titled "Stan" featuring "Dido".
Enjoy...
Lyrics:
[Intro: Dido]
My tea’s gone cold, I’m wondering why I
Got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can’t see at all
And even if I could it’d all be gray
But your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it’s not so bad, it’s not so bad
[Chorus: Dido]
My tea’s gone cold, I’m wondering why I
Got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can’t see at all
And even if I could it’d all be gray
But your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it’s not so bad, it’s not so bad
[Verse 1: Eminem]
Dear Slim, I wrote you, but you still ain't callin'
I left my cell, my pager and my home phone at the bottom
I sent two letters back in autumn, you must not've got 'em
There probably was a problem at the post office or somethin'
Sometimes I scribble addresses too sloppy when I jot 'em
But anyways, ... ..., what's been up, man? How's your daughter?
My girlfriend's pregnant too, I'm 'bout to be a father
If I have a daughter, guess what I'ma call her?
I'ma name her Bonnie
I read about your Uncle Ronnie too, I'm sorry
I had a friend ... ... over some ... who didn't want him
I know you probably hear this every day, but I'm your biggest fan
I even got the underground ... that you did with Skam
I got a room full of your posters and your pictures, man
I like the ... you did with Rawkus too, that ... was phat
Anyways, I hope you get this, man, hit me back
Just to chat, truly yours, your biggest fan, this is Stan
[Chorus: Dido]
My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why I
Got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can't see at all
And even if I could it'd all be gray
But your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it's not so bad, it's not so bad
[Verse 2: Eminem]
Dear Slim, you still ain't called or wrote, I hope you have a chance
I ain't mad, I just think it's ... ... you don't answer fans
If you didn't want to talk to me outside your concert, you didn't have to
But you coulda signed an autograph for Matthew
That's my little brother, man, he's only six years old
We waited in the blisterin' cold
For you, for four hours, and you just said no
That's pretty ..., man, you're like his ... idol
He wants to be just like you, man, he likes you more than I do
I ain't that mad, though I just don't like bein' lied to
Remember when we met in Denver?
You said if I'd write you, you would write back
See, I'm just like you in a way: I never knew my father neither
He used to always cheat on my mom ... ... ...
I can relate to what you're sayin' in your songs
So when I have a ... day, I drift away and put 'em on
‘Cause I don't really got ... else
So that ... helps when I'm depressed
I even got a tattoo with your name across the chest
...
It's like adrenaline, the pain is such a sudden rush for me
See, everything you say is real, and I respect you ‘cause you tell it
My girlfriend's jealous 'cause I talk about you 24/7
But she don't know you like I know you, Slim, no one does
She don't know what it was like for people like us growin' up
You gotta call me, man, I'll be the biggest fan you'll ever lose
Sincerely yours, Stan—P.S. We should be together too
[Chorus: Dido]
My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why I
Got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can't see at all
And even if I could it'd all be gray
But your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it's not so bad, it's not so bad
[Verse 3: Eminem]
Dear Mr. I'm-Too-Good-to-Call-or-Write-My-Fans
This'll be the last package I ever send your ...
It's been six months, and still no word—I don't deserve it?
I know you got my last two letters, I wrote the addresses on 'em perfect
So this is my cassette I'm sendin' you, I hope you hear it
I'm in the car right now, I'm doin' 90 on the freeway
Hey, Slim..., you dare me to drive?
You know the song by Phil Collins, "In The Air of The Night"
About that guy who coulda saved that other guy from ...
But didn't, then Phil saw it all, then at a show he found him?
That's kinda how this is: you coulda rescued me from ...
Now it's too late, I'm on a thousand downers now—I'm drowsy
And all I wanted was a lousy letter or a call
I hope you know I ripped all of your pictures off the wall
I loved you, Slim, we coulda been together—think about it!
You ruined it now, ...sleep and you dream about it
And when you dream ...sleep and you scream about it
...
See, Slim—shut up, ... I'm tryin' to talk
Hey, Slim...
But... —see? I ain't like you
...
Well, gotta go, I'm almost at the bridge now
Oh, ..., I forgot—how am I supposed to send this ... out?!
[Chorus: Dido]
My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why I
Got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can't see at all
And even if I could it'd all be gray
But your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it's not so bad, it's not so bad
[Verse 4: Eminem]
Dear Stan, I meant to write you sooner, but I just been busy
You said your girlfriend's pregnant now, how far along is she?
Look, I'm really flattered you would call your daughter that
And here's an autograph for your brother; I wrote it on a Starter cap
I'm sorry I didn't see you at the show, I must've missed you
Don't think I did that ... intentionally just to diss you
But what's this ... you said about you like...
I say that ... just clownin', dawg, come on, how ... ... is you?
You got some issues, Stan, I think you need some counselin'
To help your ... from ... off the walls when you get down some
And what's this ... about us meant to be together?
That type'll make me not want us to meet each other
I really think you and your girlfriend need each other
Or maybe you just need to treat her better
I hope you get to read this letter, I just hope it reaches you in time
Before you hurt yourself, I think that you'll be doin' just fine
If you relax a little, I'm glad I inspire you, but Stan
Why are you so mad? Try to understand that I do want you as a fan
I just don't want you to do some crazy ...
I seen this one ... on the news a couple weeks ago that made me sick
Some dude ... ... ... drove his car over a bridge
...she was pregnant with his kid
And in the car they found a tape, but they didn't say who it was to
Come to think about it, his name was—it was you
Damn...

This is me going down the memory lane with the song I always come home to on the radio from Primary School... Country music is also a classic classy tune that transcends from old to an important genre of music.
I am sharing this wonderful oldie from way back titled "Just Because I Am In Love With You" by "Don Williams"
Enjoy...
Lyrics:
It's true, you’ve got me going, 'round in circles
You keep me so darned dizzy, I could cry
But every time you hurt me, I grow a little stronger
I'll soon be strong enough to say goodbye.
It will be so good to smile
Gee, it's been a long, long while
After all that I've been through
Just 'cause I'm in love with you.
But there will come a day, you'll see
You won't have control of me
You can't hurt me like you do
Just 'cause I'm in love with you.
--- Instrumental ---
I'll ask, whatever saint looks after lovers
I'll ask, would you please look after me
And would you kindly hear my prayer,
And have a little mercy?
Please, if she doesn't love me, set me free.
It will be so good to smile
Gee, it's been a long, long while
After all that I've been through
Just 'cause I'm in love with you
But there will come a day, you'll see
You won't have control of me
You can’t hurt me like you do
Just 'cause I'm in love with you...

Today, I bring you a wonderful song I was introduced to in 2003 by one of my roommates in 100 Level then. He played the song as it just came out and I fell in love with that song since then.
The title of the song is "White Flag" by "Dido". I hope you also enjoy the song and the performance as well.
Lyrics:
"White Flag"
I know you think that I shouldn't still love you
Or tell you that
But if I didn't say it, well I'd still have felt it
Where's the sense in that?
I promise I'm not trying to make your life harder
Or return to where we were
But I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be
I know I left too much mess and destruction
To come back again
And I caused nothing but trouble
I understand if you can't talk to me again
And if you live by the rules of "it's over"
Then I'm sure that that makes sense
I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be
And when we meet
Which I'm sure we will
All that was there
Will be there still
I'll let it pass
And hold my tongue
And you will think
That I've moved on
I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be
I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be
I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

Speaking about pain, there are some pains that are etched in the heart even when someone seem to have moved on from it. That's th story of this artist with the lyrics...speaking of the pain in the past and how he has moved past it but the pain is still there based on past experience.
The title of this song is "We Did It When We Were Young" by The Gaslight Anthem.
Lyrics
"We Did It When We Were Young"
Don't write me no more letters, my mailbox is full of bombs
Between you and the kooks on my block
I don't remember the good times, I wasn't there when you were kind
And my wife had some dogs in our yard
And I cannot hold a candle for every pretty gun
We were strangers many hours and I missed you for so long
When we were liars, lovers in combat
Faded like your name on those jeans that I burned
But I am older now
And we did it when we were young
I am older now
And we did it when we were young
There are no reasons to believe, I buried my faith in another plot
Where your heart and your claws will not find
And I don't feel you or recall, I put your bones out in the yard
For someone else to be called and caught by
And I cannot hold a candle for every pretty gun
We were strangers many hours and I missed you for so long
When we were liars, lovers in combat
Faded like your name on those jeans that I burned
But I am older now
And we did it when we were young
I am older now
And we did it when we were young
I am older now
And we did it when we were young
I am older now
And we did it when we were young

This song is titled "What A Wonderful World" by "Louis Armstrong". This is one amazing classic song and it's evergreen.
I love the words and the amazing view the singer have of the world. Indeed, your perception shapes your reality. How do you see the world? What do you wish to see in the world? Indeed, it's a wonderful world...
Lyrics:
"What A Wonderful World"
I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying
"I love you"
I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They'll learn much more
Than I'll never know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Oh yeah

To represent Nigeria and Africa in this competition based on the theme of the week is "Is This Love" by Bob Marley. I want to believe as Nigerians and Africans, we love deeply and easily. We don't always look or behave like what we have been through, so we feel deeply. What comes from the heart touches the heart.
"Is This Love" - "Bob Marley and The Wailers"
Lyrics:
I wanna love you
And treat you right
I wanna love you
Every day and every night
We'll be together
With a roof right over our heads
We'll share the shelter
Of my single bed
We'll share the same room, yeah
For Jah provide the bread
Is this love? Is this love? Is this love?
Is this love that I'm feeling?
Is this love? Is this love? Is this love?
Is this love that I'm feeling?
I wanna know, wanna know, wanna know now
I got to know, got to know, got to know now
I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I, I'm willing and able
So I throw my cards on your table
I wanna love you, I wanna love and treat
Love and treat you right
I wanna love you
Every day and every night
We'll be together, yeah
With a roof right over our heads
We'll share the shelter, yeah, oh-yeah
Of my single bed
We'll share the same room, yeah
For Jah provides the bread
Is this love? Is this love? Is this love?
Is this love that I'm feeling?
Is this love? Is this love? Is this love?
Is this love that I'm feeling?
Wo-o-o-oah
Oh, yes, I know; yes, I know, yes, I know now
Oh, yes, I know; yes, I know, yes, I know now
I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I, I'm willing and able
So I throw my cards on your table
See, I wanna love you, I wanna love and treat you
Love and treat you right
I wanna love you
Every day and every night
We'll be together
With a roof right over our heads
We'll share the shelter
Of my single bed
We'll share the same room, yeah
Jah provides the bread
We'll share the shelter
Of my single bed
We'll share the same room

I connect with your emotions and stir you up to greater feelings. What comes from the heart touches the heart and it's okay to feel. Love is such a feeling you feel when you feel you are feeling a feeling like you have never felt before. - Olawalium.
This song is by "Three Doors Down" and titled, "Here Without You".
Enjoy it...
"Here Without You"
A hundred days have made me older
Since the last time that I saw your pretty face
A thousand lies have made me colder
And I don't think I can look at this the same
But all the miles that separate
Disappear now when I'm dreaming of your face
I'm here without you, baby
But you're still on my lonely mind
I think about you, baby
And I dream about you all the time
I'm here without you, baby
But you're still with me in my dreams
And tonight, it's only you and me, yeah
The miles just keep rolling
As the people leave their way to say hello
I've heard this life is overrated
But I hope that it gets better as we go
Oh yeah, yeah
I'm here without you, baby
But you're still on my lonely mind
I think about you, baby
And I dream about you all the time
I'm here without you, baby
But you're still with me in my dreams
And tonight, girl, it's only you and me, yeah
Everything I know, and anywhere I go
It gets hard, but it won't take away my love
And when the last one falls
When it's all said and done
It gets hard, but it won't take away my love
Whoa, oh, oh
I'm here without you, baby
But you're still on my lonely mind
I think about you, baby
And I dream about you all the time
I'm here without you, baby
But you're still with me in my dreams
And tonight, girl, it's only you and me
Yeah
Oh, yeah

Vibes Web3 Music Competition Week 8 - Red Red Wine.
The theme for this week is 1960 and it took me back in time to this classic and ever green song by UB40 titled "Red Red Wine".
I love everything about this song...the tune, the rhythm and the flow of the song makes it dear to my heart. I hope you enjoy it and if you haven't heard of this before, here is an opportunity to know this classic song. Enjoy it...
RED RED WINE BY UB40
Red red wine
Goes to my head
Makes me forget that I...
Still need her so
Red red wine
It's up to you
All I can do, I've done
Memories won't go
Memories won't go
I'd have sworn that with time
Thoughts of you would leave my head
I was wrong, now I find
Just one thing makes me forget
Red red wine
Stay close to me
Don't let me be alone
It's tearing apart
My blue heart
I'd have sworn that with time
Thoughts of you would leave my head
I was wrong, now I find
Just one thing makes me forget
Red red wine
Stay close to me
Don't let me be alone
It's tearing apart
My blue, blue heart

Another one of my classics is this song. I love every aspect of this song ever since I heard the song from one of my favourite movies of all time; Armageddon. I made it a duty to find the song through Shazam then and learned about the song fully. It has been one of my favourites since.
The title of the song is "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith. You will love even the original version of this song...away from my own showcase. Enjoy...
"I Don't Want To Miss A Thing"
(from "Armageddon" soundtrack)
I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Where every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure
Don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you (Even when I dream)
The sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
Lying close to you feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes and thank God we're together
And I just wanna stay with you
In this moment forever, forever and ever
I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you (Even when I dream)
The sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
I don't wanna miss one smile
I don't wanna miss one kiss
Well, I just wanna be with you
Right here with you, just like this
I just wanna hold you close
I feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time
Yeah (Yeah)
Yeah (Yeah)
Yeah!
Don't wanna close my eyes
Don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you (Even when I dream)
The sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you

Vibes Web3 music competition week 6 - I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free.
This song is by the Lighthouse Family and it was my go to while growing up. A song about endless release...that freedom we all seek. There are always so many possibilities that happens within the confine of our head...we can be anywhere in our head and that joy that comes from making possibilities happen in our head cannot be overemphasized
I love this song and I hope you love it too. The melody...the wordings...the delivery and flow by the original singer would get you glued. I really hope I tried hahaha at least deliver even if it is 10% of his original work hahaha.
Enjoy it...
I wish I knew how it would feel to be free
I wish I could break all the chains holding me
I wish I could say all the things that I should say
Say 'em loud say 'em clear
For the whole wide world to hear
I wish I could share
All the love that's in my heart
Remove all the bars that keep us apart
And I wish you could know how it feels to be me
Then you'd see and agree that every man should be free
I wish I could be like a bird in the sky
How sweet it would be if I found I could fly
Well I'd soar to the sun and look down at the sea
And I'd sing cause I know how it feels to be free
I wish I knew how it would feel to be free
I wish I could break all the chains holding me
And I wish I could say all the things that I wanna say
Say 'em loud say 'em clear
For the whole wide world to hear
Say 'em loud say 'em clear
For the whole wide world to hear
Say 'em loud say 'em clear
For the whole wide world to hear
One love one blood
One life you've got to do what you should
One life with each other
Sisters, brothers
One love but we're not the same
We got to carry each other
Carry each other
One One One One One...
I wish I knew how it would feel to be free
I wish I knew how it would feel to be free

This is not a contest...this is just another field I am waiting to explore by speaking up more and conveying messages also with my words. Any action or attitude you see me do is deliberate...it's all part of the style of voice delivery I am trying to portray. I want to speak about pressing issues... matters of concerns and worries. Don't worry, I won't do any lovey dovey delivery 🤣🤣😂😂🤣

A massive shout out to @lordbutterfly for this wonderful initiative and opportunity as well. Thanks to another wonderful human @george-dee for inviting me to join in...and this is my first time here and hopefully many more time to come for me too.
This song warms my heart and it depicts the state of the world and also explains to us that we all have a part to play in making everything better if we truly care. Love is always the answer and we need one another. No one can make it out here all alone.
When we care enough, share enough, the world will have enough. The world have enough of our needs but never enough for our greed. What do we have that we have not been given at some point too? Enough with the violence, vindictiveness, anger, bitterness and hatred. What we don't want to be done to us shouldn't be done to others. When we see it from this angle, maybe, just maybe we can all learn to do things better.
Enjoy the music and I hope you like it. It's a song I am passionate about and I hope that passion shines through.
"We Are Here" - Alicia Keys.
We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
That's why we are here, why we are here
We are here
Bombs over Baghdad
Tryna get something we never had
Let's start with a good dad
It's so real but it's so sad
And while we're burning this incense
We gonna pray for the innocent
Cause right now it don't make sense
Right now it don't make sense
Let's talk about Chi-town
Let's talk about Gaza
Let's talk about, let's talk about Israel
Cause right now it is real
Let's talk about, let's talk Nigeria
And the mass hysteria, yeah
Our souls are brought together
So that we can love each other, brother
We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
That's why we are here, why we are here
We are here
No guns made in Harlem
But yet crime is a problem
He wanna shine, they wanna rob him
Single mother, where they come from
How we gonna save the nation
With no support for education
Cause right now it don't make sense
Right now it don't make sense
Let's talk about our part
My heart to your heart
Let's talk about, let's talk about living
Had enough of dying
Not what we all about
Let's do more giving, do more forgiving, yeah
Our souls are brought together
So that we could love each other, sister
We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
That's why we are here, why we are here
We are here
We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
That's why we are here, why we are here
We are here
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh
We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
That's why we are here, why we are here
We are here

Congratulations, baby. What a journey it was and I am grateful to God for seeing you through. This is unusual of me to drop short post but on a day like this, I feel this is important. It was a long and stressful day...not sure I can type any long post but I will grace you with lot of pictures...
Meet Engineer Oluwatosin... She made me proud and came out with flying colours. It was tough, long and hard but not without God's help. God showed up and that's all that matters. It was worth it and I would do it all over again if I have to.
Let's congratulate and celebrate My Engineer...
Thank you for your time.

Anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be called daddy... I feel special on this day because I didn't see it coming. This was a Sunday morning last week...all dressed in my native attire and I was feeling fly. I got so many states that day and I saw someone walked up to me and asked... "Are you Nigerian?" It shows from your outfit. He smiled and walked away. That was refreshing.
I saw so many stares that day in admiration of my outfit but the real deal was the surprise I got in the house before stepping out. This is a real definition of "They never see me coming..." 😂😂🤣😂
I have too many videos but this one captured the whole essence of it. Wifey posted it on her TikTok also and I think I did too. This is me sharing with my Hive family as well because I would love this documented on my favourite blockchain.
Enjoy the video and yes...I have some pictures too... Enjoy...

So, wifey decided to try this challenge with our daughter and I was seated watching the TV very close to where she was having her challenge. It was fun to see how she was reading the instructions to herself before she finally gave herself a rethink with a voice of reasoning hahaha.
This girl is a bundle of talent and also full of humour. I can't get tired watching her or listening to her. She's all shades of cuteness and smartness.
Special shout out to her mother for thinking this through and giving it a go. I think we would be doing more of this challenge for her as you would be seeing more and more of her videos.
This video is exclusively ours...made on our phone and then posted at first on her mother's TikTok page. I decided to share it with my Hive family and I hope that's okay.
Enjoy...

This is week 126 and the theme is "Trusting In The Process". For those who want to jump in on this too, here is your chance: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 126 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
I love this theme because it is relatable with life. We can't ignore the process in life. Lines upon lines, precept upon precepts... That's what life is all about. When we ignore the process we usually leave ourselves vulnerable and undone because the process brings about strength, resilience and capacity building. Imagine gold not going through the process of fire...not withstanding the rigour of the process, it would come out undone and unfurnished. Life is like that most time. Whatever you are going through, keep pushing, as long as you don't let the foot off the gas, you can be very sure it would pay off in the end.
Follow through the process, stop seeking for the short cuts because it has cut a lot of lives and potentials short too. Trust in the process, go through with it and build capacity while going through it. It won't always be pretty but it's going to be worth it as long as we have the indomitable will never to give up no matter how hard it gets.
The song I picked for this week that goes with the theme of the week is:
Artist: "Bob Marley and the Wailers"
Title: "Redemption Song"
Lyrics:
*Old pirates, yes, they rob I
Sold I to the merchant ships
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit
But my hand was made strong
By the hand of the Almighty
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly*
*Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have
Redemption songs
Redemption songs*
*Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds
Have no fear for atomic energy
'Cause none of them can stop the time
How long shall they kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look? Ooh!
Some say it's just a part of it
We've got to fulfill the book*
*Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have
Redemption songs
Redemption songs
Redemption songs*
*Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our mind
Wo! Have no fear for atomic energy
'Cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time
How long shall they kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look?
Yes, some say it's just a part of it
We've got to fulfill the book*
*Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever had
Redemption songs
All I ever had
Redemption songs
These songs of freedom
Songs of freedom*

This is week 125 and the theme is "Nothing Is Impossible". For those who want to jump in on this too, here is your chance: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 125 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
Nothing is impossible as long as we have the indomitable will to stay at it. Life will always happen. Situations would want to spill over and beyond our control but our resolve should be strong. Life doesn't come with a manual so we live and learn as we grow and go through life. Nothing is impossible for us as long as we have faith. Nothing is impossible for us as long as we keep holding on. Nothing is impossible for us as long as we look ahead and look within. It takes someone who is conscious of who they are to not get thrown away by every wind of distraction. Nothing is impossible as long as you keep pushing. Things might be hard but not impossible.
The song I picked for this week that goes with the theme of the week is:
Artist: "The Maverick City"
Title: "The Story I'll Tell"
Lyrics:
*The hour is dark
And it's hard to see
What you are doin'
Here in the ruins
And where this will lead*
*Oh but I know
That down through the years
I'll look on this moment
I see your hand on it
And know you were here*
*And I'll testify of the battles You've won
How You were my portion when there wasn't enough
And I'll testify of the seas that we crossed
The waters You parted, the waves that I walked*
*Oh oh oh, my God did not fail
Oh oh oh, it's the story I'll tell
Oh oh oh, I know it is well
Oh oh oh, it's the story I'll tell*
*Believing gets hard when options are few
When I can't see what you're doing
I know that you're proving
You're the God who comes through*
*Oh but I know
That over the years
I'll look back on this moment
And see your hand on it
And know You were here*
*And I'll testify of the battles You've won
How You were my portion when there wasn't enough
And I'll testify of the seas that we crossed
The waters You parted, the waves that I walked*
*Oh oh oh, my God did not fail
Oh oh oh, it's the story I'll tell
Oh oh oh, I know it is well
Oh oh oh, it's the story I'll tell*
*All that is left is highest praises
So sing Hallelujah to the Rock of Ages
All that is left is highest praises
So sing Hallelujah to the Rock of Ages*
*All that is left is highest praises
So sing Hallelujah to the Rock of Ages
All that is left is highest praises
So sing Hallelujah to the Rock of Ages*
*And I'll testify of the battles You've won
How You were my portion when there wasn't enough
And I'll sing the song of the seas that we crossed
The waters You parted, the waves that I walked*
*Oh oh oh, my God did not fail
Oh oh oh, it's the story I'll tell
Oh oh oh, I know it is well
Oh oh oh, it's the story I'll tell
It's the story I'll tell
It's the story I'll tell*

This is week 124 and the theme is "Moonshine". For those who want to jump in on this too, here is your chance: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 124 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
*When life pressed you sore
You see nothing to jug you to the fore
You keep thinking of the life before
Nothing makes sense and of routines you get bore
Moonshine is a ray of hope on your pore
Reignite the passion in you to dream of more*
When the moon shines on you, that's hope... Hope in a solitary place where you can reconnect with your inner self and nature again. Nature is healing and when the moon shines on you, that's your window of hope in a place of quietness and stillness.
I love the theme for the week a lot because it's about rediscovering yourself and having hope again. Life will always happen and situations will threaten us but we can be lifted and smile all again. It's okay to find a solitary place to heal especially in a world that wants everything on a fast pace. It's okay to take some time out to remember why we started in the first place. Let the moon shine on you as you rediscover yourself and get fueled for the journey that lies ahead.
It doesn't really matter about the rain because you will get through it. Just stay in touch with your inner self and watch the moon smile on you with its shine.
The song I picked for this week that goes with the theme of the week is:
Artist: "Lighthouse Family"
Title: "Lifted"
Lyrics:
*I'd really love to be alone without all the
Ache and pain and the April showers
But it ain't long before I long for you, like a
Ray of hope, coming through the blue moon*
*When it all gets dark again
The whole thing falls apart I guess
It doesn't really matter 'bout the rain
'cause we'll get through it anyway
We'll get up and start again*
*'cause we could be Lifted, Lifted, Lifted
We could be Lifted
From the shadows, lifted
Oh we could be, lifted up today
Lifted all the way, you and I forever
Baby, lifted, lifted, lifted, hey*
*It's undisturbable the peace we found
In a bright new space up above the clouds
Everything is understandable
You don't have to say anything too loud*
*When all our luck runs out again
We're brought back down to solid ground
I wouldn't say I'm mad about the rain
But we'll get through it anyway
We'll get back to the start again*
*'cause we could be lifted, lifted, lifted
We could be lifted
From the shadows, lifted
Oh we could be, lifted up today
Lifted all the way, you and I forever
Baby, lifted, we could be lifted, we could be lifted, hey*
*We could be lifted, we could be lifted, we could be lifted
You and I forever
We could be lifted, we could be lifted, yeah we could be lifted
We could be lifted up to new horizons*

This is week 123 and the theme is "Emotion". For those who want to jump in on this too, here is your chance: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 123 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
I love how the themes we have been getting always sync with the vision of this amazing community. A better world for all is what we seek for and that's where our humanity should be focused on. We all seek a better world but we all have a part to play in dispersing the love around. We need one another and we can't do without each other. Love is the unifying factor in all that we have to do and when we love without holding back despite the obvious differences, then we can enjoy a better world for all. The world has enough of our needs but never enough for our greed.
A better world for all is possible with love. Love won't make us cheat, judge others unfairly and want to harm others. Love is the only thing that can bring us together. Love is the answer to this aching world; a world filled with so much pain where everyone is struggling to get by.
The song I picked for this week that goes with the theme of the week is:
Artist: "Lighthouse Family"
Title: "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free"
Lyrics:
*I wish I knew how it would feel to be free
I wish I could break all the chains holding me
I wish I could say all the things that I should say
Say 'em loud say 'em clear
For the whole wide world to hear*
*I wish I could share
All the love that's in my heart
Remove all the bars that keep us apart
And I wish you could know how it feels to be me
Then you'd see and agree that every man should be free*
*I wish I could be like a bird in the sky
How sweet it would be if I found I could fly
Well I'd soar to the sun and look down at the sea
And I'd sing cause I know how it feels to be free*
*I wish I knew how it would feel to be free
I wish I could break all the chains holding me
And I wish I could say all the things that I wanna say
Say 'em loud say 'em clear
For the whole wide world to hear
Say 'em loud say 'em clear
For the whole wide world to hear
Say 'em loud say 'em clear
For the whole wide world to hear*
*One love one blood
One life you've got to do what you should
One life with each other
Sisters, brothers*
*One love but we're not the same
We got to carry each other
Carry each other
One One One One One...*
*I wish I knew how it would feel to be free
I wish I knew how it would feel to be free*

This is week 122 and the theme is "Emotion". For those who want to jump in on this too, here is your chance: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 122 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
I am happy with the theme of the week which is "Emotion". There is no right or wrong way to express your emotion because we have different ways we deal with things individually, be it love or loss of a loved one. We have different ways we deal with things and we allow the emotion to flow in different ways. Emotion is about being expressive and not just bottling things up, be it love or grief.
Let the emotion flow... Through your eyes... Through your words... Through your actions... Through your veins and blood... Just live. There is this quote I live by that I love so much and it says: "There was a man who never laughed or played, he never cried, he never danced or played. One day, he died and his insurance was denied for they claimed he never lived so they said he never died."
Letting our emotions flow is part of living.
The song for this week is:
Artist: "Westlife"
Title: "Angel"
Lyrics:
*Spend all your time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that would make it okay
There's always some reason
To feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day*
*I need some distraction
Oh, beautiful release
Memory seeps from my veins
Let me be empty
Oh, weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight*
*In the arms of the angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear*
*You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here*
*So tired of the straight line
And everywhere you turn
There's vultures and thieves at your back
Storm keeps on twisting
Keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack*
*It don't make no difference
Escape one last time
It's easier to believe
In this sweet madness
Oh, this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees*
*In the arms of the angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear*
*You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here*
*You're in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here
Some comfort here*

This is week 121 and the theme is "Amor de Familia - Family Love". For those who want to jump in on this too, here is your chance: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 121 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
We all start and end with family and family is important. There is no one too poor to be without one because it's not just about blood or about belonging, it's about friendship, about giving your heart to people and getting it in return. There are friends that stick closer than a brother or sister. Family is important, either by blood or by association but what makes family important is by the importance we place on that person we call family.
Family is about sacrifices, about love, about loyalty, about making others better, about helping each other grow without the need for competition or slander. Family love is what should keep us going because most of the problems we have in this world starts with family and if we get it right with our families, we can save the world from the decadence that has befallen her.
That's why I am going with this song for the week because it's all about sacrificing for one another - either the military doing that for the nation or a brother helping a sister out or a brother or a sister being there for either another brother or sister. Family is about belonging - giving a sense of importance to others - looking beyond ourselves. Anyone would naturally go to where they are celebrated rather than where they are tolerated. Family is about celebrating one another while working through our differences and helping each other overcome any weakness.
The song for this week is:
Artist: "Avicii"
Title: "Hey Brother"
Lyrics:
*Hey, brother, there's an endless road to re-discover
Hey, sister, know the water's sweet but blood is thicker
Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do*
*Hey, brother, do you still believe in one another?
Hey, sister, do you still believe in love, I wonder?
Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do*
*What if I'm far from home?
Oh, brother, I will hear you call
What if I lose it all?
Oh, sister, I will help you out!
Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do*
*Hey, brother, there's an endless road to re-discover
Hey, sister, do you still believe in love, I wonder?
Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do*
*What if I'm far from home?
Oh, brother, I will hear you call
What if I lose it all?
Oh, sister, I will help you out!

This is week 120 and the theme is "Mi Felicidad - My Happiness". For those who want to jump in on this too, here is your chance: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 120 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
Happiness is a state of mind. There would never be a perfect situation or condition but we have to stay positive and happy. A lot of people are inspired to be happy based on what they see around them and when those things are lacking, they find it so hard to be positive and happy. Happiness doesn't depend and shouldn't depend on what's in your hand but rather on what's in your heart. It is a state of being where we choose to be happy regardless of what we go through. It's a choice...it's a decision we have to make to be happy.
No one can make it for us. Others can be a factor to make us happy but we all know how humans can be so fickle...so what happens when they stop cheering? This is why it's very important to look inward and make the decision to be happy. It calls for having a positive outlook on things, keeping the hope and the faith that we are not defined by what we are going through.
Your background should not put your back on the ground. It can influence who you are but when a defining moment comes we have to define the moment or else the moment would define us. We all have a shot at being happy but it takes a conscious effort for us to see things the way we should so we can maintain a position of happiness which isn't influenced by the things we are going through that seem to be unpleasant.
No one can make you happy without your consent. It's a personal project to choose to be happy.
This is why I chose this song titled: "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by "Bobby McFerrin".
Lyrics:
*Here's a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry, be happy
In every life, we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy now*
*Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy
The landlord says your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy*
*Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got no gal to make you smile
But don't worry, be happy
'Cause when you worry your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy now*
*Ooh, ooh ooh ooh oo-ooh ooh oo-ooh ooh ooh oo-ooh
(Don't worry)
Ooh oo-ooh ooh ooh oo-ooh
(Be happy)
Ooh oo-ooh oo-ooh
Don't worry, be happy
Ooh, ooh ooh ooh oo-ooh ooh oo-ooh ooh ooh oo-ooh
(Don't worry)
Ooh oo-ooh ooh ooh oo-ooh
(Be happy)
Ooh oo-ooh oo-ooh
Don't worry, be happy*

This is week 119 and the theme is "Prejudice". For those who want to jump in on this too, here is your chance: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 119 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
This is a worldwide problem and I am excited about this theme as well. We often overlook so many things because it didn't come close to us or it's not happening to those we know. You know everything is perfect until something happens to someone we know and that's when we start to understand what others went through. We don't have to be at the receiving end of it before we allow our humanity to kick in and speak against prejudice. It's growing like wildfire and it has to be tamed.
That's why I am happy to fuse two songs together: "Where Is The Love?" By "Black Eyed Peas" and "Stan" by "Eminem".
People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach?
Or would you turn the other cheek?
Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love, the love, the love...
[Source]
"Where is the love" spoke about the love we should have for one another without having bias. Most people have carried out dastard acts due to their bias towards certain groups or people. It's scary sometimes the things we allow in the world we live in.
"Stan" spoke about the need for acceptance without sometimes understanding the full context of things. We all want to be accepted. We all want to feel among. We all want others to feel the same way as we feel so we can blend in just to massage our ego and sense of worth sometimes.
Life won't always go the way we want but with everyone doing their part in understanding and throwing kindness, love and patience around like confetti, we can see things better without making rash decisions, we can accept others and desist from the path that puts others down or lead others on the path of self destruction.

This is week 118 and the theme is "Love Hurts". For those who want to jump in on this too, here is your chance: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 118 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
We have all loved and lost. Most of us invested our time and energy in a wrong relationship and we just give up on love. Most people get tired of love because of how often they have been burned by it. Love is tricky especially when it's not mutual. Mutual love is the best and it makes you thrive and everything just click. There are some people who deceive others in the name of love. I still believe that love is the cure for a broken heart. Love can heal when it's genuine. Love isn't what hurt you but humans. Love is love but humans are the ones who deceive others with love hence making love to hurt.
I love the theme for this week because it's the reality we are faced with in the world today. Most people we genuinely give our heart to don't reciprocate and it hurts so much. Only those we care about are capable of hurting us. The song "Let Her Go" by "Passenger" goes so well with the theme of the week and I am sure you will all enjoy it.
Artist: "Passenger"
Title: "Let Her Go"
Lyrics:
*Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go*
*Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go*
*Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day you'll make a dream last
But dreams come slow and they go so fast*
*You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you'll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies*
*But you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go*
*Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go*
*Staring at the ceiling in the dark
Same old empty feeling in your heart
Cause love comes slow and it goes so fast*
*Well you see her when you fall asleep
But never to touch and never to keep
Cause you loved her too much and you dived too deep*
*Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go*
*Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go
Ohhh, oh no
And you let her go
Ohhh, oh no
Well you let her go*
*Cause you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go*
*Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go*
*Cause you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go*
*Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go

This is week 117 and the theme is "True Friends". For those who want to jump in on this too, here is your chance: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 117 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
Friendship is important and I always say that no one can make it out here all alone. We all need someone and some friends stick closer than family. Friendship is of the heart and it has no class barrier. It doesn't matter about the age because it is about the memories we are creating along the way.
I know a lot of people have lost even family members they can call friends because of how close and free they were, I know a lot of people have lost friends and people close to them which is why this song by West Life titled "Seasons in the Sun" is the song that perfectly fits into this theme for the week. It talks about friendship, people we have lost, and the memories we can fall back on since we don't have them close again. Friendship is of the heart and as long as you keep the flame alive in your heart and carry them everywhere you go with thoughts and fond memories, they can never die. They might be out of touch but certainly not out of mind. Friendship runs deeper and even distance can't pose a barrier to true friendship.
Artist: "West Life"
Title: "Seasons in the Sun"
Lyrics:
*Goodbye to you, my trusted friend
We've known each other since we were nine or ten
Together we've climbed hills and trees
Learned of love and ABCs
Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees*
*Goodbye my friend, it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
Think of me and I'll be there*
*We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed
Were just seasons out of time*
*Goodbye papa, please pray for me
I was the black sheep of the family
You tried to teach me right from wrong
Too much wine and too much song
Wonder how I got along*
*Goodbye papa, it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Little children everywhere
When you see them I'll be there*
*We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song
Like the seasons have all gone
We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song
Like the seasons have all gone
Yeah yeah yeah*
*Goodbye Michelle, my little one
You gave me love and helped me find the sun
And every time that I was down
You would always come around
And get my feet back on the ground*
*Goodbye Michelle, it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
With the flowers everywhere
I wish that we could both be there*
*We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed
Were just seasons out of time
We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song
Like the seasons have all gone*
*We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed
Were just seasons out of time
We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song
Like the seasons have all gone*

This is week 115 and the theme is "Doing The Work". For those who want to jump in on this too, here is your chance: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 115 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
Doing the work means you are doing what is expected of you without holding back. Many people keep saying "what if it doesn't work?" to which I would always answer "what if it does?". Nothing is certain unless we take the step. We have to do what's expected of us. Should we fight the fight we can win or the fight we should fight? I can live with losing the good fight but I can never live without fighting it.
We all have struggles, we all have fears, we all have what's eating us up but we have to do the work to be better than we used to be if we want to change the narrative of our life. Nothing happens by chance and we shouldn't become a secondary character on our life's journey. We are expected to put in the work if we want to see the results that we desire. This is my understanding of the theme for the week and we all need to always give in our best regardless of whether we fail or not. I would rather try than let fear cage me in...at least I will have an experience to point to and I can say it's not due to lack of effort.
Title of the song: "I Can See Clearly Now..."
Artist: "Jimmy Cliff" (Heard it's originally by Johnny Nash).
Lyrics:
*I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind*
*It's gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day*
*Oh, yes I can make it now the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is that rainbow I've been praying for*
*It's gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day*
*Look all around, there's nothing but blue skies
Look straight ahead, there's nothing but blue skies*
*I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Here is that rainbow I've been praying for*
*It's gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day*
*Bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright) bright (bright)
Sunshiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright) bright (bright)
Sunshiny day*
*Bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright) so bright (bright)
Sunshiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright) bright (bright)

This is week 114 and the theme is catchy as usual. For those who want to jump in on this too, here is your chance: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 114 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
There are some things that are more than words and those things are the exposures we have had in life, the background we have been subjected to, the reality we have come to embrace, the life we have chosen to lead and the trail of kindness we leave on our path. We can be seated next to a broken person and we wouldn't know it which is why we must be kind to one another.
We all have stories, the problem is telling it just as we all have dreams and the problem is selling it. It's pointless to sit at the base of the mountain and cry when we can muster the strength to at least climb. In this world, one thing I've come to understand is that no one can make it out here all alone.
We all need one another and in line with the theme and goal of Hive Open Mic which is unity, I decided to go with this song as it speaks about our experiences in life and the need for us to remember that we are one, regardless of our religion, regardless of our race, colour of our skin and even where we live.

Title of song: We Are One
Lyrics:
*As you go through life you'll see
There is so much that we don't understand
And the only thing we know*
*Is things don't always go
The way we planned
Ayiho nan hon bô nan toun*
Dô gbeme do sousou lo
When it seems all your dreams come undone
*Akon kpikpan déa dohô
Zéwé sou gbêwê biômon
We are more than we are, we are one*
Family, family, we are one
*If there's so much I must be
Can I still just be me*
The way I am
*Can I trust in my own heart
Or am I just one part
Of some big plan
Mantintô lè do kpô
Ha mi do gbêmin fi la
Your journey has only begun
Akon kpikpan déa dohô
Zéwé sou gbêwê biômon
Is our pride, deep inside
We are one
Family, family, we are one
Gnin kpo hwê kpo do kpô
Nou dé man nan hin mi gblé
One family under the sun
Akon kpikpan déa dohô
Zéwé sou gbêwê biômon
You will find when you see
We are one
Family, family, we are one*

Another week of fun and I am excited to jump in on this week's theme about Children. For those who would love to join, you can also participate here: [🎵 Hive Open Mic 113 - Worldwide Live Music Event]
I went with this song because it speaks more about the future and about being the light of the world. I believe children are the future, the hope that we carry...just like seeds and the more we nurture them the better they turn out. I've always been a firm believer of creating a better world for our Children but with how the world is going, it's better we leave better children for our world so they can recreate the world that we desire.
Being an infant is about moulding. When a child is still at the infant stage that's when they can learn about kindness. The world needs more kindness and when we have more kind people we can achieve so much more. The best time to learn it is when they are still small not when they are older. Habits are easier to pick and difficult to drop which is why adults are struggling to keep up with the humanity side of things. Infants are the hope that we carry...the hope of the world we desire to see.
It's a collective responsibility and we all need to connect with the infants in us and understand the purpose of being in a world as this. We are expected to shine our light and make the world a better place for everyone. We are the world...we are the children and we are the ones to make the world a better place.
Song Title: "We Are The World."
Artist: Michael Jackson and other star artists.
Lyrics:
*There comes a time when we heed a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
And it's time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all*
*We can't go on pretending day by day
That someone somewhere will soon make a change
We're all a part of God's great big family
And the truth, you know
Love is all we need*
*We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So, let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me*
*Send them your heart so they'll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stone to bread
And so we all must lend a helping hand*
*We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So, let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me*
*We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So, let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me*

I decided to go for this song for so many reasons. The first one would be because of the infusion of the local language we call "pidgin" in the song. Nigerians or maybe most Africans are known for this kind of language which makes it indigenous to us. Another reason would be because it talks about deep rooted kind of love which goes to how people used to feel about each other before our modern world. The other reason would be because he is my brother, he is a Nigerian and I would rather promote his song to showcase his creativity than do anything else.
He is a typical traditional singer that sings in pidgin, my native language; Yoruba and of course, English too. This is why this song passed for being a traditional theme because he is one and this song embodies it. Love is a universal language, yes, but what we feel is peculiar to us and personal.

Another week for Hive Open Mic and I am excited with the encouragement and the support from this community with the friends met along the way as well.
I pictured life as riding a bicycle...sometimes you get your rhythm and sometimes you take a fall with obvious obstacles along the way which we sometimes see and sometimes, we get too distracted to see. It's about who we know that we are that can make all the difference. Most of the times we won't feel like it but we need to remind ourselves of who we are so as to journey through life and make the difference that is expected of us. That's why I picked this song because I was inspired by it.
To create peace and harmony, we have to first feel good with ourselves because we can't give out when we don't even understand who we are of feel good about who we are.

Title of Song: You Say.
Artist: Lauren Diagle.
Lyrics:
*I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I'm not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know*
Ooh oh
*You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe, (I) oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe*
*The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity*
Ooh oh
*You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe, (I) oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
Oh, I believe*
*Taking all I have and now I'm laying it at Your feet
You'll have every failure God, You'll have every victory*
Ooh oh
*You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe, (I) oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe*
*Oh I believe, oh
Yes I believe, oh
What You say of me
Oh I believe*

Title of Song: We Did It When We Were Young.
Artist: The Gaslight Anthem.
Lyrics:

Part of creating peace and harmony is to first be at peace with ourselves. We cannot give out what we don't have and that's one of the major reasons I love this song. The artist regrets his past life which might mean many things to most people; bad break up, wrong decisions, regrets but he got to a point in his life where he found peace of mind with who he is, with his wife, amazing dog and putting the past where it belonged; the past.
Most people don't let the past stay where it is which makes it difficult for them to spread love, peace, harmony and the fragrance of their goodness. This song is colourful and a reminder that we should let go of the past; things we cannot change and throw our kindness around like confetti.

Title of Song: What A Wonderful World.
Artist: Louis Armstrong.
Lyrics:
*I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world*
*I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world*
*The colours of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying
"I love you"*
*I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They'll learn much more
Than I'll never know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world*
*Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world*
Oh yeah

Artist: Alicia Keys.**
Lyrics:
**We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
That's why we are here, why we are here
We are here**
**Bombs over Baghdad
Tryna get something we never had
Let's start with a good dad
It's so real but it's so sad
And while we're burning this incense
We gonna pray for the innocent
Cause right now it don't make sense
Right now it don't make sense
Let's talk about Chi-town
Let's talk about Gaza
Let's talk about, let's talk about Israel
Cause right now it is real
Let's talk about, let's talk Nigeria
And the mass hysteria, yeah
Our souls are brought together
So that we can love each other, brother**
**We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
That's why we are here, why we are here
We are here**
**No guns made in Harlem
But yet crime is a problem
He wanna shine, they wanna rob him
Single mother, where they come from
How we gonna save the nation
With no support for education
Cause right now it don't make sense
Right now it don't make sense
Let's talk about our part
My heart to your heart
Let's talk about, let's talk about living
Had enough of dying
Not what we all about
Let's do more giving, do more forgiving, yeah
Our souls are brought together
So that we could love each other, sister**
**We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
That's why we are here, why we are here
We are here
We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
That's why we are here, why we are here
We are here**
**Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh**
**We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
That's why we are here, why we are here
We are here
We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
