This research guide examines the Gnostic concept of the Demiurge, a secondary creator portrayed as a false god who imprisons divine souls within the material world. Drawing from ancient texts like the **Nag Hammadi Library and the Pistis Sophia, the document contrasts Plato’s original benevolent craftsman with the malevolent Yaldabaoth found in later esoteric traditions. Central to the text is the "soul trap" theory, which suggests that reincarnation is a deceptive cycle enforced by cosmic bureaucrats known as Archons to keep humanity ignorant of its true spiritual origins. To counter this, the sources outline various liberation methods, such as attaining gnosis, direct internal knowledge—and recognizing post-mortem illusions to return to the True God. Furthermore, the guide highlights cross-cultural parallels in Tibetan, Hindu, and Greek traditions, suggesting a universal human concern regarding the soul's freedom after death. This synthesis provides a comprehensive look at how ancient spiritual warnings align with modern metaphysical research to challenge conventional views of reality.

Optimal vitality is the state of experiencing peak energy and vibrant health, enabling individuals to fully engage with life’s opportunities and challenges. Achieving this level of vitality requires a holistic approach that encompasses physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

To begin with, nutrition plays a crucial role in enhancing energy levels. Consuming a balanced diet rich in whole foods, such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats, provides the necessary nutrients for the body to function efficiently. Staying hydrated is equally important, as even mild dehydration can lead to fatigue and a decrease in cognitive function.

In addition to nutrition, regular physical activity is essential for cultivating sustained energy. Engaging in aerobic exercises, strength training, and flexibility routines releases endorphins, improves mood, and boosts overall stamina. It’s not solely about intense workouts; finding enjoyable activities—like dancing, hiking, or yoga—can make movement a seamless part of daily life.

Mental and emotional health are integral to optimal vitality as well. Mindfulness practices, such as meditation and deep breathing, can reduce stress and enhance focus, promoting mental clarity. Establishing a supportive social network encourages emotional resilience and can invigorate one's spirit, reminding individuals that connection is a powerful source of energy.

Sleep, often overlooked, is another cornerstone of vitality. Prioritizing restorative sleep enables the body to recover and regenerate, leading to improved concentration, immune function, and overall energy levels. Creating a bedtime routine and ensuring a restful environment can significantly impact sleep quality.

Lastly, fostering a sense of purpose can ignite passion and motivation, infusing daily life with energy and enthusiasm. Pursuing goals aligned with personal values helps individuals feel more engaged and fulfilled, which naturally boosts vitality.

In sum, achieving optimal vitality is a multifaceted journey. By embracing nutritious foods, regular movement, mental resilience, restorative sleep, and a sense of purpose, individuals can unlock their peak energy and live life to the fullest.

In the fast-paced world we inhabit, it's all too easy for individuals to find themselves running on empty, navigating the demands of daily life that seem to multiply with each passing day. The relentless grind—juggling work responsibilities, family obligations, and personal aspirations—can become overwhelming, often leading to a sense of fatigue that seeps into every aspect of life. As the weight of these burdens grows heavier, many begin to question their sense of purpose, wondering if the life they lead is truly aligned with their deepest values and dreams.

However, within this chaos lies an opportunity for renewal. Reconnecting with one’s purpose requires a deliberate act of introspection and self-reflection. It starts by carving out moments of stillness amidst the noise, where individuals can pause and listen to their inner voice. These moments are precious, offering clarity to identify what truly matters—be it creative expression, meaningful relationships, or impactful contributions to the community.

Moreover, practical steps can be taken to cultivate a sense of purpose. Setting small, achievable goals can transform feelings of helplessness into a more purposeful approach to daily tasks. Engaging in activities that ignite passion, whether through volunteering, pursuing creativity, or learning something new, can reinvigorate the soul, reminding individuals of the joy and fulfillment that life can offer.

Ultimately, by acknowledging their burdens and embracing a proactive journey towards their passions, individuals can reclaim their energy and redefine their life’s purpose. This renewal is not about escaping the challenges of daily existence but rather about transforming them into stepping stones toward a more vibrant and meaningful life.

The ego is an often-misunderstood part of our psychological makeup. It gets the blame for bad behavior, as if anyone with an ego is inherently a “bad” person.
What is “bad” and what is “good”?
That may seem like a rather facetious question because after all, aren’t people with egos rather full of themselves? Aren’t they arrogant – even bullies around the school or office?
Not so.
In fact, the ego is one of the most misunderstood aspects of our humanity. Take heart if you feel that your ego is out of control and making your life difficult. By investing your time in reading this you will come away with a far greater understanding of your ego and how you can go about making life easier on yourself.
The ego doesn't exist on its own

Blair on Soulless Cells, Nibiru, and Spiritual Ascension
The source is an excerpt from a video transcript featuring Dr. Delbert Blair discussing various esoteric and unconventional topics. Key points include a strong denouncement of psychiatry and organized religion, claiming they are based on falsehoods and designed to exploit people. The speaker details a complex spiritual and biological model where every cell possesses a soul and a "cell governor," arguing that cancer is caused by soulless cells or free radicals feeding off others. Furthermore, the transcript outlines a spiritual ascension of the planet Earth, the existence of soulless beings (Reptoids/Grays) living inside the hollow Earth who manipulate humanity, and the arrival of a space confederation vessel, Nibiru, to help with the planetary cleansing. The speaker advocates for raw foods, heightened consciousness, and
concentrated thought as the path to personal and planetary ascension, ultimately urging listeners to seek truth within themselves rather than external institutions.

These sources, primarily drawn from The Economist’s "The World Ahead 2025" collection, offer forward-looking analyses across a broad spectrum of global topics, focusing on predictions and emerging trends for the year 2025. Key areas covered include geopolitical conflict (Middle East tensions, the Israel-Hamas conflict, the war in Ukraine, and escalating air travel risks) and political shifts (the global rise of anti-immigration sentiment, the impact of Donald Trump's return to the US presidency, and political struggles in the UK, Germany, and Poland). A significant focus is placed on technological disruption, particularly the patchy but accelerating adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across industries, from drug development and defense to China's entertainment and tech sectors, alongside the booming development of fusion energy and grid-scale battery storage. Economically, the articles address China’s global economic expansion and dominance in green technology, challenges in housing markets and stockmarket debuts, and the future of industries like streaming media and aerospace.

How To Use Self-Hypnosis To Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind To Create Empowering Habits And Behaviors

Have you ever done anything that was out of character for you? You did something that hurt a loved one. Maybe you consistently have problems with money, even though you make more than enough to live a comfortable life. But still, you struggle.

Perhaps you've wanted to lose weight for years. It seems like you've always been overweight and out of shape. You've tried the top diets and a dozen different exercise plans. Even when you lose some weight, you gain it back, sometimes even more.

What's at play here? Those are all common issues people deal with that come from subconscious programming.

The subconscious part of your mind or psyche is invisible. It's there nonetheless and drives most of your actions and behaviors. It's what motivates you to take action.

Now think about this:

Have you ever encountered someone who had a serious challenge for years or even decades? Then you meet them one day, and they are an entirely different person?

They've put some terrible habit in their rearview mirror. They've conquered it totally, and you're amazed that over the oncoming years, they don't return to the negative behavior that characterized them in the past.

Whether or not they knew what they were doing, their positive change occurred because they reprogrammed their subconscious.

Instead of the old, destructive program running in the background causing them to engage in harmful behavior...

... they embedded a new, empowering program that quite literally changed their life for good.

Now for some good news:

You can take control over the programs that run in your subconscious by choice. And of the most powerful and effective ways to do it is using Self-Hypnosis!

Introducing…
“The Self-Hypnosis Handbook” is a guide that will uncover a powerful process that anyone can use to reprogram their subconscious mind to embrace new, empowering, positive habits and behaviors.

You will discover how Self-Hypnosis works and how you can quickly learn the basics to begin implementing the practice in your own life.

Here’s a quick overview of the key lessons shared in the “Self-Hypnosis” program…

•A look at the fundamentals of Self-Hypnosis and how you can benefit from it
•An investigation into any risks or warnings to be aware of before starting
•How to get started by focusing on reaching “theta” brainwave frequency
•A step-by-step guided process you can try for yourself to begin practicing Self-Hypnosis to address specific concerns in your life

How Long Does It Take Self-Hypnosis to Work?

Did you know that anyone can be hypnotized? You might be shaking your head right now. You're arguing that you have a very strong mental constitution and that nobody can crack the outer shell of your consciousness to reach down into your subconscious.

If that is your belief, then you are unfortunately mistaken.

Indeed, you can't be hypnotized if you don't want to. But the idea that some humans are created without a subconscious is simply incorrect. Don't envision the crazy histrionics of the traveling hypnotist that gets people to do absurd things on a stage in front of strangers.

Those entertainers are very good at identifying people with extremely high suggestibility levels. In some cases, they'll use planted audience members on their team to make it look like they have amazing powers of hypnosis.

All hypnosis does is allow you to speak to your subconscious. That's it.

It's a lot like meditation. Through self-hypnosis, you can enter this state safely. You then make suggestions of actions and habits you'd like to embrace. You continue this practice for several weeks, and your subconscious realizes this is important to you.

It begins to embrace these new thoughts and belief patterns. You begin to act in ways conducive to these new thoughts, which is one way self-hypnosis can help you trade bad habits for good ones.

That said, what can you expect? How long will it take for you to sleep better, have more self-confidence, lose weight, and keep it off? The short answer is that there is no short answer.

90 Days of Self-Hypnosis Is Recommended

Everyone can enter a state of hypnosis. Some people might just require a little more work than others. But the truth is that even if you've never done something like this, you can place yourself in a safe and aware hypnotic state where you can access your subconscious.

Some people see a dramatic change in just a few weeks. Others notice changes starting to slowly appear almost instantly. Most of the time, a hypnotherapist will tell you that you should keep repeating sessions for at least 90 days as a self-hypnosis beginner.

The sessions themselves can last from three to five minutes or longer. Getting started is the only way to find out what will work for you.

Get your hands on a proven self-hypnosis method or step-by-step program. Take action. Put yourself through the process. You'll find immediately, even after your first session as a beginner, that you can dramatically lower your stress levels. As you become more proficient, you'll find you can change negative behaviors and adopt healthier habits through self-hypnosis.

The concept of the "Dehydrated Brain" in the context of modern societal distractions highlights a pressing concern regarding the impact of urban living, technology, and processed lifestyles on human well-being. This metaphorical "dehydration" refers not only to a lack of physical moisture but also to the diminishing richness of sensory experiences and spiritual fulfillment in contemporary life.

  1. Sensory Impact

  2. Sight: Urban environments often flood our visual senses with artificial lights and advertisements, leading to sensory overload. This can desensitize us to natural beauty, affecting our appreciation for landscapes and the subtle changes in our environment.

  3. Sound: The constant noise of city life, from traffic to technology, can drown out the calming sounds of nature. This disruption can lead to heightened stress and anxiety, reducing our ability to engage with the world around us.

  4. Touch: Living in sanitized, sterile environments can limit tactile experiences. The disconnect from natural textures—like soil, plants, and water—can result in a diminished appreciation for the physical world and its healing properties.

  5. Taste: Processed foods, often lacking in vital nutrients, alter our palates and lead to a disconnection from the natural flavors derived from whole foods. This shift can dull our sense of taste, making us less aware of the nuances in healthy options.

  6. Smell: Modern lifestyles can lead to a disconnection from natural scents, replaced by synthetic fragrances in products. This diminishes our ability to enjoy and be soothed by the natural aromas of the environment, which have been shown to have calming effects.

  7. Spiritual Development:

The retreat from nature and reliance on manufactured lifestyles create barriers to spiritual growth. Natural settings often foster mindfulness and introspection, encouraging a deeper connection to oneself and the universe. Conversely, distractions from technology, social media, and consumer culture divert attention from profound thoughts and self-reflection, stunting personal and spiritual development.

  1. Societal Distractions:

The constant barrage of information and entertainment can lead to an addiction to distraction. This phenomenon diminishes our ability to be present, cultivates superficial understandings of life, and generates a sense of emptiness. Engaging with technology instead of with nature or community can create isolation, hampering interpersonal connections vital for emotional health and spiritual well-being.

  1. Returning to Nature:

Engaging more with nature can help counteract these effects. Activities like hiking, gardening, or simply spending time outdoors can significantly improve mental clarity and emotional well-being. By reconnecting with environments rich in sensory experiences, individuals may regain a sense of purpose and contentment.

In summary, the "Dehydrated Brain" metaphor encapsulates the disconnection prevalent in modern living, emphasizing the need for sensory engagement and spiritual awareness. To combat these distractions, it’s essential to consciously seek out experiences that nurture our full sensory potential and foster spiritual growth, encouraging a more holistic and enriching lifestyle.

What do we mean when we say “flipping the switch” anyway? Well, the Urban Dictionary defines it as a sudden or drastic change of heart. In this eBook, we are talking about it as it relates to motivation.

We are all unmotivated sometimes. We all procrastinate getting started on a new project or task we don’t enjoy doing. But often in life, we don’t have a choice - we must get certain things done. These can be big things liking getting a college degree to get that job you want or smaller things like balancing your checkbook so you know if you can afford that new iPhone

Have you ever looked back on your life with regret? It's normal. We are all imperfect human beings. That means we make mistakes from time to time, some big and some small. This can lead you to second-guess things you've done in your life.

When you think about it, that's a good thing. If you want to learn from your mistakes and make better choices in the future, you should be applauded. You understand that you consciously or unconsciously acted in a way that didn't produce the most beneficial outcome. You regret doing something, so you remember that, and you keep from repeating the mistake in the future.

Sometimes though, our regrets are misplaced.

Someone tells us that our behavior is far from normal. They recommend we do things in a socially acceptable way so we can be like everyone else. After all, if everybody else is wearing a blue hat and a yellow shirt, why aren't we? Why did we choose to wear a yellow hat and a blue shirt? Are we trying to start trouble?

Since being accepted is a natural human desire, we might develop regret. Why did we decide to be original? Who were we to dare to embrace our unique personality? Why didn't we just go along with the crowd instead of drawing attention to ourselves?

These types of regrets have no place in your life.

When you're chastised for being different in some way that doesn't harm anyone and allows you to express your unique personality, you shouldn't regret acting that way.

The problem is with the person worried about what you're doing. When you understand that being different is the only way to be you, you start living life without regret.

TOP TIPS
Redefining Progress: How to Create Your Own Success Blueprint

This lesson guides you through the process of crafting a definition of progress that aligns with your personal goals, values, and lifestyle. Instead of relying on external metrics or societal expectations, you’ll learn how to measure success using your own meaningful benchmarks. By the end, you’ll be better equipped to recognize and celebrate your growth on your own terms.

1.Understand Why Traditional Metrics Don’t Always Fit
Many people measure success by money, status, or productivity, but these benchmarks don't align with everyone's values. Societal standards often ignore personal happiness, mental health, or relationships. It’s crucial to recognize that traditional success markers might not reflect your unique path.

2.Identify What Truly Matters to You
Take time to reflect on your core values and priorities in life. Ask yourself what gives you fulfillment, joy, and purpose. Aligning your progress goals with these elements will provide lasting motivation and satisfaction.

3.Define Success in Simple, Personal Terms
Instead of abstract goals like 'being successful', define what that actually looks like for you. It might mean having free time for hobbies, improving your health, or spending quality time with family. Anchoring goals in specific, personal outcomes helps track real progress.

4.Set Milestones That Reflect Internal Growth
Progress isn’t always visible externally—sometimes it's about confidence, resilience, and mindfulness. Define milestones based on emotional, mental, or spiritual development. This helps highlight changes that truly matter to your well-being.

5.Be Flexible With Your Definition
As your life evolves, so will your idea of progress. Stay open to updating your definition as your priorities shift. Growth is not linear, and neither is your personal success map.

6.Track Reflective Metrics, Not Just Numbers
Instead of relying solely on quantifiable indicators, track feelings, lessons learned, or mindset shifts. Journaling or regular check-ins can help identify these softer yet powerful forms of growth. These reflective metrics often reveal deeper, long-term progress.

7.Celebrate Small Wins That Fit Your Definition
Acknowledge every step that aligns with your personal version of progress. Even small achievements contribute to larger transformations. Celebrating along the way keeps you motivated and focused on your own path.

8.Let Go of Comparison
It's tempting to measure your journey against others, but this distorts your sense of progress. Everyone has a unique background, timeline, and destination. Focus on how far you’ve come, not where others are going.

9.Review and Evolve Your Progress Markers Regularly
Make it a habit to reflect on your definition of progress every few months. Life changes, and so should your benchmarks. Regular reviews ensure your goals stay meaningful and aligned with your life.

Black Identity, Wealth, and the American Dream

We examine the complex relationship between the "American Dream" and Black consumerism from the mid-20th century to the present. They highlight how advertisers initially framed Black Americans as a lucrative, untapped market, associating material possessions with prestige and social acceptance. Through analyses of works by Kanye West, Jay-Z, Tupac Shakur, and The Boondocks, the texts reveal a consistent critique of this consumerist narrative by Black artists, even as these figures often participate in the very system they question. The overarching theme explores whether accumulating wealth truly liberates Black Americans from systemic inequalities or simply reframes historical struggles within a more sophisticated commercial context, ultimately questioning the authenticity of progress versus the repackaging of old messages.

Imagine a professional working in a high-pressure office environment. On the surface, they appear to be handling their responsibilities well, meeting deadlines, and contributing to the team. However, beneath the surface, they are experiencing a significant mental overload that is not readily apparent to their colleagues.

Every day, this individual is bombarded with a constant stream of emails, phone calls, and requests for their time and attention. They juggle multiple projects simultaneously, each with its own set of deadlines and demands. The pressure to perform and maintain a facade of competence and control takes a toll.

As the mental overload builds up, this individual starts to experience subtle yet impactful changes. They may find it increasingly difficult to focus, experiencing brain fog and difficulty processing information. Their sleep patterns may become disrupted, leading to fatigue and decreased productivity.

The hidden mental overload also takes an emotional toll. The individual may become more irritable, snapping at colleagues or struggling to maintain positive relationships. They may experience increased anxiety and feelings of overwhelm, which can impact their decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills.

Over time, this hidden mental overload can lead to burnout, a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion. The individual may become less effective at work, make more mistakes, or even miss important deadlines. This, in turn, can impact their career advancement, job satisfaction, and overall well-being.

The cost of this hidden mental overload can be far-reaching. It can affect the individual's personal life, relationships, and overall quality of life. It can also have ripple effects on the organization, as the decreased productivity and increased stress of the individual can impact the team and the overall performance of the company.

Recognizing and addressing this hidden mental overload is crucial for both the individual and the organization. Implementing strategies such as stress management, work-life balance, and mental health support can help mitigate the impact of the hidden mental overload and prevent long-term consequences.

This podcast proposes that life as commonly understood did not begin with natural reproduction but through ancient technology that "printed" biological bodies after a global reset. These "printed vessels" are described as lacking true souls and being essentially empty, programmable entities that resemble humans but are not genuinely alive. The source suggests that some real souls became accidentally trapped in these synthetic bodies, leading to individuals who feel different and question their reality. Furthermore, it claims this "printing" process continues to evolve through modern technology like IVF and gene editing, and that certain celestial phenomena and ancient texts are not simply myths but warnings about deceptive entities and traps for souls, urging those with true souls to recognize their nature and resist the artificial system.

The Certainty of a Good Future: Transcending Fear NowDavid Bayer's YouTube video transcript from "They LIED About the Future — Here’s What’s REALLY Happening" centers on the conviction that the future is inherently positive. This certainty stems from the belief that reality mirrors our collective consciousness, which is continuously evolving towards greater love and coherence. Bayer argues that negative external manifestations like wars and control systems are byproducts of collective unprocessed trauma. He suggests that as individuals heal and raise their consciousness, these old systems, rooted in fear and separation, will dissolve. The podcast encourages listeners to shift their focus from fear-based narratives to actively creating a better reality through conscious awareness and by embodying higher vibrational frequencies. Bayer emphasizes that even a single person operating at a high level of consciousness can positively influence the collective, highlighting a shift already underway towards a more loving and connected world.

We all have an inner critic that whispers negative thoughts in our minds. This voice can be relentless, telling us we’re not good enough, smart enough, or deserving of success. These hidden thoughts can shape our self-image and influence our decisions. For example, when considering a new job opportunity, you might hear that inner voice saying, "You won't get it," or "You're not qualified." This self-sabotaging mindset can prevent you from even applying, ultimately keeping you stuck in a rut.
Recognizing Your Hidden Thoughts:

Understanding and recognizing these hidden thoughts is the first step in overcoming them. Here are some common self-limiting beliefs to watch out for:

Fear of Failure: The belief that failing will reflect poorly on you can keep you from trying new things.
Imposter Syndrome: Feeling like a fraud despite your accomplishments can lead to self-doubt.
Perfectionism: The need to be perfect can cause procrastination and prevent you from completing tasks.

The Power of True Feelings

Alongside hidden thoughts, your true feelings play a crucial role in how you navigate life. Often, we suppress emotions like fear, sadness, or anger, believing that they make us weak. However, acknowledging these feelings is essential for personal growth. Here’s why:

  1. Emotional Awareness Leads to Empowerment.

When you allow yourself to feel your emotions, you can process them and respond more effectively. For instance, if you feel anxious about a presentation, acknowledging that anxiety can help you prepare better rather than avoiding the situation altogether.

  1. Understanding Triggers.

Recognizing what triggers your negative thoughts and feelings is key to breaking the cycle. Keeping a journal can help you identify patterns in your thoughts and emotions, enabling you to address them head-on.

Transforming Self-Sabotage into Self-Empowerment.

Here are practical steps to help you overcome being your own worst enemy and embrace a more empowered version of yourself:

  1. Challenge Your Inner Critic

Whenever you hear that negative voice, challenge its validity. Ask yourself if the thought is based on facts or assumptions. Reframe negative thoughts into positive affirmations. For example, change "I will fail" to "I am capable of learning and growing from this experience."

  1. Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness techniques, such as meditation and deep breathing, can help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings. These practices create space between your thoughts and reactions, allowing you to respond rather than react impulsively.

  1. Set Realistic Goals

Break down your goals into smaller, achievable steps. Celebrate your progress, no matter how small, and learn to appreciate the journey rather than fixating only on the end result.

  1. Seek Support

Surround yourself with supportive people who encourage your growth. Sharing your feelings and experiences with trusted friends or a therapist can provide perspective and accountability as you navigate your journey.

Conclusion: Embracing Your True Self

Being your own worst enemy is a challenge many face, but it doesn’t have to define your life. By recognizing and addressing your hidden thoughts and true feelings, you can break free from self-imposed limitations and embrace your true potential. Remember, the journey to self-discovery and empowerment is ongoing, and it begins with the courage to face yourself honestly.

The core message is that you are not your thoughts or feelings; rather, you are the observer of them. The video proposes techniques to detach from the constant mental chatter, release emotional baggage, and surrender the illusion of control. By practicing presence and openness, one can discover a deeper sense of peace and live more authentically. Ultimately, true freedom is an internal state achieved through self-awareness and acceptance.
When You're Thinking, You're Actually Listening" provides a comprehensive guide to attaining inner peace and freedom that by recognizing the nature of our inner voice, understanding the illusion of control, processing emotions mindfully.
Distinction Between Thoughts and Observer: A key realization is presented: you are not your thoughts. You are the observer, the "silent witness" who hears the inner voice. This separation is highlighted as the foundation for inner peace.

What is meant by "programming" in the context of this discussion?
The term "programming" refers to the systematic and often subconscious conditioning of individuals through various systems like education, media, food, and even language. This conditioning shapes our thoughts, beliefs, desires, and behaviors, often in ways that benefit those in power while limiting individual freedom and critical thinking. It's a deliberate process that begins in childhood, molding us into predictable and compliant members of society.

How does the education system contribute to this "programming"?
The education system, from early childhood onwards, is a key tool in this programming process. Rather than fostering critical thinking and independent thought, it often prioritizes obedience, conformity, and memorization. Standardized tests, the rigid structure of the school day (with bells dictating activities), and the emphasis on external validation (like grades and gold stars) all serve to condition students into accepting authority and following rules without question. This creates a foundation for compliant workers and citizens, rather than free-thinking individuals. The curriculum itself is carefully curated to emphasize specific narratives and downplay others, shaping our understanding of history, science, and even morality in ways that support existing power structures.

Past trauma can be transformed into creative power by choosing love over fear, understanding that every hurt is a source of strength, and raising your frequency.

  • The sources explain that past trauma is like raw material waiting to be transformed into something profoundly healing.
  • Through this transformation, an individual becomes more than a survivor and instead becomes the creator of their own reality.
  • By choosing love over fear, an individual is choosing peace, compassion, and strength. Choosing love over fear rewrites reality by stepping into a new dimension where the higher self is in control and divine energy surrounds and protects the individual.
  • Every time an individual chooses love, they raise their frequency and manifest a world built on trust and limitless potential.
  • This is not about perfection; rather, dedication to a higher path allows the individual to unlock the inner power waiting within, which allows the individual to live in harmony with the magic frequency that transcends fear.
  • The sources emphasize that every scar and every moment of hardship is not a setback, but rather a source of strength and a step closer to becoming the true alchemist of your life.
  • Think of your soul as a cauldron where emotions, experiences, and intentions swirl together, brewing into something powerful and new.
  • The healing frequency that flows through an individual has the ability to transform every ounce of pain into wisdom and every shadow into light.
  • As an individual keeps transforming, their once-fragmented energy begins to unify, resonating with a higher frequency, and a vibration calls to the core of their being.
  • This is divine energy awakening within the individual, making them realize every hardship has prepared them for the power they are stepping into.
  • Alchemist energy not only heals but also redefines, aligning the individual with a version of themselves that is limitless: a creator, a conscious manifestation of light.

In Summary This Is A Review!

This YouTube review discusses narrative identity, arguing that individuals construct their lives as stories. It uses Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy to illustrate two contrasting narrative patterns: the "contamination sequence," where past trauma perpetually undermines present well-being, and the "redemption sequence," where adversity leads to personal growth. The transcript explores psychological concepts from McAdams, Freud, Maslow, Frankl, and Jung to explain these narrative structures and emphasizes the importance of confronting one's "shadow self" to achieve wholeness and rewrite a more empowering life story. The video concludes by suggesting tools for rewriting one's narrative in a future video.

This excerpt from Jeremy Cox's YouTube video focuses on the power of letting go as a key to manifesting desired outcomes in life. Cox argues that by relinquishing attachments to the past, negative experiences, and limiting beliefs, we open ourselves to a more positive and abundant reality. He emphasizes the importance of living in the present moment, utilizing imagination to visualize desired outcomes, and focusing on positive emotions to shift into a higher vibrational state. Cox suggests that by letting go of anxieties and desires, we become more magnetic, attracting opportunities and experiences aligned with our true selves. He promotes the idea of conscious creation, asserting that our thoughts and beliefs shape our reality and that we have the power to manifest our dreams by consciously choosing to focus on the positive.

A Daily Meditation Practice Can Help You Control Your Emotions and Your TemperChildren aren't the only people that throw temper tantrums. Otherwise, rational and sensible adults will sometimes lose control of their emotions. They act out in anger and frustration. They don't have control of their temper, and things can escalate quickly in a bad way.

Speaking of temper, what does it mean? Check online dictionaries, and you're likely to come up with variations of the following definition.

  • Temper – noun – "a person's state of mind seen in terms of their being angry or calm."

While your temper or emotional state of being can voice itself in several ways, we usually think of it negatively. We talk of people losing control of their temper or throwing a temper tantrum.

This refers to someone usually funneling all their energy into a single emotion like anger. That can lead to regrettable behavior that makes the situation worse long before it has a chance to get better. Try meditating if you want fewer emotional outbursts and more control of your temper.

The Life-Changing (and Life-Saving) Benefits of Meditation

Regular meditation practice can lower high blood pressure and improve circulation. It promotes feelings of well-being while relieving stress and lowering your heart rate. It's been used as a treatment for anxiety and can help establish emotional control and balance when needed.

Simple Meditation Tips for Beginners

You can benefit from this powerful health booster any time you have just a few minutes. Just find a calm, quiet, distraction-free environment. Get into a comfortable sitting or lying position.

Close your eyes and clear your thoughts. At first, it might be difficult to think about nothing. The more you work at this, the better you'll get. When some nagging thought tries to interrupt you, just push it away and deal with it later.

Recognize your breathing. Don't force your breathing in any way. Just accept it and note the process. Then take a few long and deep breaths. Exhale naturally.

Let the process happen. Notice the movement of your body as you breathe. Just exist in the current moment.

While that might seem pretty simple, it's a powerful practice. Do it a couple of times a day if you can. The more you meditate, the more you'll find emotional control when you need it. This can keep you from losing your temper. It also delivers the substantial health benefits we mentioned earlier.

Are you drowning in drama? Craving some calm amidst the chaos? You're not alone. Not everything goes right the first time around. In fact, you can probably remember a few times when things went catastrophically wrong. We mess up everything from the relationships we enjoy to our situations at work or school.
It's a true blessing when we get a second chance to try again and make things right.
We think of redemption as the process of making something right, whether fixing a past mistake or failure or finding a way to make amends for an action that hurt someone we love. We do this by making the best of a second chance.
Second chances are opportunities that present themselves in our lives. They're specifically targeted at being able to take on something in our past that we felt wasn't 'right' in some way

The World Is Moved More by Spirituality than by Men

There is no doubt that what is abiding, universal and impersonal has a greater appeal to man than what is fleeting, limited and personal. Spirituality, being such, has more appeal to humanity than men do. This is true in all aspects of human existence as it is in the knowledge man has gained. However, great a man may be, he has his limitations. He is in no way superior to the ordinary human beings as far as defects and shortcomings are concerned. However, spirituality, the children of his heart, have universal appeal. Therefore, spirituality influences man more truly and deeply than personalities.

On the other hand, there is no scope for any doubt that personalities appeal more to the common man than spirituality. The reason is that a man who is concrete is more palpable than spirituality, which is abstract. However, the likes and dislikes of a common person do not determine the standard of human conduct. A bit deeper insight into the matter will reveal that we worship personalities; we really pay respect to them because they embody some lofty ideas or ideals.

In the field of science, men who put forth spirituality were often ridiculed. They were even stoned to death but spirituality triumphed in the end. Copernicus was insulted and Galileo was tortured to death but their ideas like the torchbearers have been guiding the destiny of humanity through centuries.

In addition, greatness of a literature or a religion is determined not by the number of men writing it but by the amount of ideas, truths or spiritual words contained in it. Literary writers like Shakespeare, Tolstoy and Tagore have left an indelible imprint on the mind of humanity not because of their impressive personalities but because of the ideas and spiritualism contained in their books. On the other hand, a Sadhu in saffron robes cannot become a prophet. He can become Lord Buddha only if he has great ideas to convey to millions.

All these examples support the conviction that ideas or spirituality is greater than men are. Without ideas or spirituality, men are philistines (uncultured, commonplace people). In fact, he is the true benefactor of humanity who gives ideas to the world and enlightens the world with spirituality. The greatest contribution of the greatest men to the material welfare of the world will be short-lived only. The ideas and spirituality imbibed from the great men transform the very brain, mind, and soul of man. As a result, humanity must become better and nobler.

What’s Causing Your Attitude To Be Negative (And How To Fix It)

In this podcast, we’ll be discussing what may be causing a negative attitude. It may be something that is temporary or it may be a long-term issue. Either way, it’s important to identify what’s going on.

With a negative attitude, there’s always a source. So it may be a good idea to identify that source and come up with a solution to turn a negative attitude into a positive one. With that said, we’ll go over the list here shortly.

Before we do, we encourage you to take notes and use them for reference purposes. This will ensure that you know exactly what may be causing a negative attitude and what you can do to fix it. Let’s get started.

First, we’ll talk about pessimistic thinking and negative self-talk. This is focusing on the negative aspect of a situation instead of the positive. You might be thinking in the vein of ‘this is never going to work’ or ‘I’m never going to be good enough’.

Negative thinking and self-talk is perhaps one of the worst things you can do. Especially when it comes to your mental health. So reframe all of this in favor of the positive.

So reframe the positive thoughts as ‘this will work and I’ll find away’ or ‘I will be good enough’. These thoughts will also be voiced aloud as well. So if you think positively, you will speak positively.

Next, let’s take a look at the lack of self-care. When we’re not taking the best care of ourselves, this will open the gates to negativity. We may be lacking in care mentally, physically, and emotionally.

So it would be a good idea to take the best care of ourselves in these aspects. One way to do this is to get a good night’s sleep. If you consistently get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night, you’ll wake up feeling well-rested and less stressed.

Preparing for bed will play a role in how you get a good night’s sleep. So if you plan on going to bed at 10PM, there are some specific cut off times to follow. For example, we recommend that you power off your electronics at least an hour and a half to two hours prior to your bedtime.

So in this example, you should power off electronics at about 8PM at the earliest, but no later than 9:30 PM. Another thing is to schedule a cut off time for caffeine. For a 10PM bedtime, it may be wise to consume caffeine no later than noon.
Also, it may be a good idea to set the environment so it can help you fall asleep. It needs to be cool, dark, and relaxing. Another thing to be aware of is your stress levels.

It’s important to keep stress levels low before sleep. Otherwise, you won’t be able to get any sleep at all because of all the negative thoughts bubbling in your head.

Finally, it’s important to pull yourself away from negative environments. This includes not being around negative people or even going to places that exude a negative atmosphere. Instead, you want to surround yourself with positive people.

What kind of people uplift you and make you feel good about yourself? What makes you feel good in general? Focus more on that instead of the negative things.

So that will do it for this presentation. We appreciate you checking this out. And we hope you were able to get a good amount of information from this in an effort to acquire a more positive attitude.

Thanks for listening, take care.

5 Ways to Put More Positivity into Your Relationship

A negative outlook can hurt any relationship. The problem is that the more comfortable we are with a person, the easier it is to vent about the day. While this seems harmless, it really isn't.

The problem with venting to the one you love is your negativity tends to start putting them in a more negative frame of mind. So, while unburdening can seem like a good thing, too much time spent on what goes wrong can make it feel as though nothing ever goes right.

The solution? While you don't need to quit talking about your day, you need to give equal, if not GREATER, time to the positive things in life. You really do want to share a more upbeat point of view, especially as it builds intimacy and makes your relationship feel fresh and fun all over again.

How do you accomplish this? Try one of these quick tips:

Start with a Compliment
We all love hearing nice things about ourselves, but only if the other person means it. When you love someone, though, this shouldn't be hard. Why not practice telling the other person what you enjoy best about them?

Forget the Critique
Nitpicking details will drive anyone into a negative spiral of self-doubt. Before opening your mouth to offer criticism about what the other person is doing wrong, pause and ask if this is really important. You're going to find that most of these things don't matter in the grand scheme. Maybe this would be a better place to comment on what they're doing right instead?

Talk About a Great Time You’ve Had in the Past
Reminiscing is a wonderful way to revisit the perfect date, the time they made you laugh so hard you cried, and all those beautiful moments. You'd be amazed at how positive your mood is (and theirs) when you share your favorite memories of being together.

Ask for What You Want
Have you ever heard how doing something nice for someone else blesses the person who gives as much as the one who receives? Truly, when you love someone, being able to do something for them can feel amazing. With this in mind, share a secret desire, something you always wished the other person would do (Don’t forget to ask their secret wish so you can return the favor!).

Create a Connection Point
Shared interests bring us closer and create a positive charge every time you do things together. Why not try out a new hobby or take a class together? You might discover your new favorite activity.

While there are dozens more ways to reconnect, remember the important thing is to start with a positive attitude yourself. Good moods are contagious, so approaching your partner in a good state of mind will help them respond similarly.

"Welcome back to 'The Loop Scoop,' your go-to podcast for untangling life's energy loops. I'm AsenseofAhh, your host

"Hello, Loop Troopers! I'm thrilled to have you back for part two of our journey into the world of energy loops. Last time, we scratched the surface. Today, we're going deeper. So buckle up, because it's time to get in to it!!

"Alright, in our last episode, we talked about what energy loops are and how to identify them. Today, let's break down the process of untangling these loops a bit further. Because, let's face it, changing energy patterns is easier said than done, right?"

"First, let's talk about mindfulness. Being aware of your loops is one thing, but being mindful is a whole other level. Mindfulness is all about being present and aware without judgment. It's a powerful tool to help you observe your loops without getting caught up in them."

"Next, let's talk about intention setting. Once you've identified a loop you want to break, it's crucial to set clear, achievable intentions. Think of it as your roadmap out of the loop. For example, if you're stuck in a loop of stress eating, an intention might be 'I will choose healthy snacks when I feel stressed'."

"Now, let's talk support. Breaking out of energy loops can feel daunting, but remember, you don't have to do it alone. Reach out to trusted friends or professionals who can provide a fresh perspective and support you in your journey. Just sharing your intention can give it power and make you feel more committed."

"And lastly, celebrate your wins, big and small. Every step you take to break an energy loop is a victory. So, don't forget to pat yourself on the back. And remember, it's okay to stumble. What matters is that you keep going."

"Breaking out of energy loops is a journey, Loop Troopers, and every journey is unique. So, be patient with yourself, and remember: You have the power to break the loop."

"That's it for today, folks. Until next time, remember to stay mindful, set your intentions, seek support, and celebrate your victories. Here's to breaking the loop!

Thank you for joining us on 'The Loop Scoop.' Tune in next time as we continue to explore the fascinating world of energy loops. Stay curious, stay mindful, and keep breaking those loops.

"You're now tuned into 'The Loop Scoop,' where we delve into the fascinating world of energy loops. I'm your host, A sense of Ahh

"Hey, Loop Troopers! Welcome to another exciting episode. Today, we're going on a rollercoaster ride into the world of energy loops. Sounds like something from a sci-fi movie, doesn't it? But trust me, it's a lot more relatable than you might think!"

"So, what are these energy loops? Picture yourself caught in a cycle of habits, thoughts, and actions. You're on repeat mode, and it’s like you're stuck in a loop. Energy loops are just like that. They're cyclical patterns of energy that we find ourselves stuck in. Think of being stuck in a negative mood, a bout of procrastination, or even a creative block."

"Doesn't sound fun, does it? That's because it's not. And that's where understanding energy loops can be a game-changer."

"Now, you might be wondering, 'How do we get into these loops?' Well, it can happen for a whole bunch of reasons. Our environment, our routine, the people around us, even our diet can influence the energy loops we find ourselves in. Over time, these factors can create patterns of energy that can be hard to break."

"But don't worry, Loop Troopers! It's not all doom and gloom. There are ways to break free from these energy loops. Let's talk about how."

"Step one is awareness. We can't change something if we don't know it's happening, right? So, start by paying attention to your habits, your moods, your energy levels. Spot the patterns, and you've found your loop."

"Next up, start small. Don't try to overhaul your entire life in one go. Pick one thing you'd like to change and work on that. Maybe it's your morning routine, or your afternoon coffee habit, or maybe it's the way you react to stress."

"Lastly, be patient with yourself. Breaking an energy loop can take time. It's not a race, and there's no finish line. It's a journey, and every step you take towards breaking your loop is a victory."

"And remember, Loop Troopers, you're not alone in this. We all have our loops, and we're all working to break free. It's a part of being human, and it's a part of growing."

"That's it for today, folks. Keep pushing, keep evolving, and don't forget to break the loop! Until next time

"Thanks for tuning in to 'The Loop Scoop.' Stay tuned for more exciting episodes. Remember, life is a loop, so let's make it a fun one!"

One thing that many people are starting to recognize is the unfair structure of their lives. We say many instead of all because there are some people who live a life of purpose from the beginning. We want to address the fact that you went to school and got an education that you or your parents chose.

After that was done, you went into the workforce and may still be working at a job that will have you retiring in 10 or 15 years. Many people stop working at ages 65 or 67 and then pass the time until that final bell rings. Perhaps they may regret their choices and spend a lot of their retirement playing the “what if I had done this different,” game?

I've always said that our world resides in our brains. The things we experience always differ from those we know and love. A significant event in your 20s may alter how you see something, and your friends and family do not understand why you feel the way you do.
As you head into your 50s and beyond, you might have "what if I had done this instead" thoughts keeping you from a deep and peaceful sleep.
The truth is, it is never too late, so long as you are breathing. You can reinvent yourself into the person you always longed to be.

Easy Breathing Practices

While a part of meditation is getting in touch with your awareness, another part has to do with relaxing and clearing your mind. Breathing is an important tool to get to both those places. Breathing may seem as simple as breathing in and out; however, this is not entirely the case.

For mediation to be successful, you will need to read up a little, listen to some CDs, and most of all practice a bit of breathing properly. Here are a few easy breathing practices to make your beginning mediation experience an enlightened one.

Proper Sitting for Proper Breathing

First and foremost, make sure that you are comfortable. Sitting upright with a straight spine will help the energy flow and prepare you for proper breathing exercises. Do not sit too rigidly, or you will be uncomfortable and unresponsive to the proper breathing format.

Relaxation of the Body

Once you have gotten into a comfortable seated position, it is important to relax your body to prepare it for breathing techniques and meditation. No matter how well you practice your breathing, if your body is tense, you will not have success. Begin by relaxing the muscles in your toes, moving to your ankles, and work your way all the way up to the top of your head. Once your body is in its relaxed position, then it will be time to begin your proper breathing techniques.

Pay Attention to Your Breaths

In the beginning, simply pay attention to your breaths. Be attuned to the rhythm of the breaths, focusing on the in and out of those breaths. Do not try to control those breaths; just be aware of them. It is very important to be aware of how you are breathing in the beginning before trying to learn any new technique on how to breathe. Being aware is an important part of the process.

Pay Attention to Your Body

Once you are acutely aware of how you breathe, it is important to pay attention to your body. If you are not experiencing your stomach rising and falling with each breath, you may be tense in the moment. It is important to have your breath enter into the nostrils and leave through mouth naturally.

Establish a Rhythm

It is very important to establish a breathing rhythm. Once you become aware of your breathing, you will notice that it is easier to establish a rhythm. Once that rhythm is established, you will find your meditation to flow easily and you will get the most benefit out of that meditation.

There is a significant downside to not speaking up when you should. Here are just a few of the less-than-favorable side-effects of not being able to communicate with confidence and deliver a clear message. There is, unfortunately, no end to the number of people that will take advantage of you if you let them. This is definitely something that can happen if you don't feel comfortable speaking up for yourself. Your friends, family members, and coworkers may take advantage of this, even if they do it unconsciously. You become the person that's always there to lend a favor. The responsibilities and dreams you have for yourself get pushed aside because you've never learned how to say no. Then there are those despicable individuals who will intentionally take advantage of you. When you speak up, they drown you out. They talk to others about you in a negative way. Behind your back, these people will knock you down in any way they can. That way, if you decide to stand up for yourself, your message is a watered-down version of what it should be.This is one of the most negative side-effects of never developing your voice. You're either heard and ignored, or you don't speak up at all. This unconsciously becomes a habit, and you spend your life never having your important needs and issues addressed. You will punish your pocketbook if you never learn to speak with confidence and clarity. Confident people are regarded highly by their bosses and the companies they work for. It just makes sense. Who would you rather have working for you? Would you promote someone who doesn't say much and never appears to be self-confident or the person who is the polar opposite? People who are perceived as confident and can express that confidence when communicating will always find success in the workplace. The opposite could be your reward if you don't learn to deliver your message with authority and power. You should always feel good about yourself when you speak up. Even if your voice isn't heard, you did what you needed to do. The problem is that if you are constantly ignored when you speak your mind, you might eventually decide to stop talking. Your self-esteem continues to fall because you don't feel like you deserve to be heard. You keep talking, but no one is listening. Perhaps you never talk up in the first place. You don't speak your mind. You might be doing this for several reasons. The eventual result is the same poor self-image that can do much damage. That means you are twice as likely to die early as someone your age with a healthy self-image. Low self-esteem leads to chronic stress and anxiety, two conditions linked to shorter lifespans. This includes every interpersonal relationship you have. Your relationships at home, at work, and with friends and neighbors can all be impacted negatively when your voice isn't heard. If you don't speak up, how can the important people in your life know what you need from them? If you speak up and don't have an effective way of delivering your message, you get the same result.By the way, this doesn't happen just because your needs are not addressed. If you don't know how to communicate effectively and with a degree of authority and believability, others may believe you're ignoring them. This might be the furthest thing from the truth. In the minds of your loved ones, it appears like you don't have time for them and don't care too much about the relationship. Maybe you've tried again and again to get your message across. You want to be heard. But you feel like you're beating your head against the wall. Why can't you find an effective way to deliver your message and get your voice heard?

Finding Time Just For You

How often have you considered doing something you'd like to do but realized you don't have time for it? How often does a week pass by and you did not have a minute to yourself? Not even a minute to do anything you might want to do just for yourself. It’s a typical scenario these days.

The problem is that not making time for you can lead to chronic stress and depression. While you may be busy, and your to-do lists are probably overwhelming, you must make yourself a priority.

Kids, job, chores, stress, Covid, bills to pay, cooking, cleaning and everything else we have to do is a lot. But, without self-care, we will burnout quickly and then what happens to all those responsibilities? When you neglect your own needs and mental health, everything in your life suffers.

Meetings, deadlines, chores and appointments are all crammed onto your calendar. But, more likely than not, there isn't a single mention about time for yourself in there. Everyone needs personal time. Time to unwind. Time to breathe. Time to have fun and experience joy. Time to explore hobbies and interests.

Finding time to focus on self-care may be challenging, especially when job and family life are demanding but this is something we must do, even if it is only 30 minutes here and there.

5 Ways To Get Some You Time

Prioritize

Prioritize, first and foremost. A well-organized plan will put your mind at ease and lead to a more productive week. Scheduling time ahead may be an excellent method to guarantee you don't scrimp on that all-important self-care time. You can also see where you can squeeze it in (which can help ensure you take it). In any case, prioritize what's vital and learn to say no or delegate, as discussed further below.

Say No (It's All Right, We Promise)

It is quite acceptable to say no. Your time is very valuable, and it should be spent on activities that provide meaning to your life. It's okay if you don't want to go to that lunch with the other moms. It's what you really need is some alone time. It's also okay if a friend has requested you help them with their move or something else, if it will have a negative impact on you, you can say no.

Switch It Off

Take a break from your phone and computer. How many times do you get an afternoon to yourself, only to waste it replying to e-mails or reading Instagram? Social media has its advantages, but it can also entice us to spend an hour looking at useless memes. Limiting distractions is the first step in finding time for yourself.

Timely Departure From Work

When you need some alone time, this is one of the easiest things you can do. Many of us remain late at work. If this is the case for you, make it a point to leave work on time or if at all possible, a little early at least once a week, if not more often. Then take advantage of that time by engaging in your favorite pastime, getting a massage, meditating, spending time with a friend you don't see very often or doing anything that helps you relax.

Learn To Delegate

According to VeryWellMind, "Are there responsibilities that you have at home or at work that could be delegated to assistants, family members, or others? Some possible ways to delegate include: Allowing someone else to take over a task can bring added benefits. They may find that they're better at it than they thought they would b

Make no mistake. We choose our own beliefs. There's nobody sitting behind you with a gun pointed to your head telling you to believe certain things. There's nobody threatening to kill you if you don't believe you are worthless, incapable, and not up to the job. Nobody's forcing you to be miserable. I know that that's an uncomfortable thing to hear because we're human beings. We're trapped in a prison of weak flesh and we would love to have somebody or a situation to blame.

You choose your beliefs and these are the foundation of your reality. They are the lenses which you used to filter out reality. That's what you used to read reality. They're not forced on you. You've voluntarily assumed them. You always have a say.

How to Fight Back?

How do you fight back against your toxic beliefs? It all boils down to being more critical. This doesn't mean that you have to turn into some jerk or asshole but it means that you have to be more skeptical.

Don't think things have face value. Somebody might say something is right or true but filter that information through your experience. Use your logical reasoning facilities.

Unfortunately, many people are lazy because if somebody we know who we love and respect says something or make a truth claim, we are more likely to pick up on what they say and assume that it's true.

Why? In the back of our heads, we filtered that person as someone who experienced many things and as someone who has achieved credibility and authority in our mind so why do the heavy work and be skeptical of what they say?

Basically, you transfer the time, effort, and attention to detail that you invested in developing that friend or mentor to their claims. This is a problem because people make mistakes all the time.

People say the stupidest things all the time and if you were mentally lazy and adopt what they say wholesale and absorb it, there will be a problem. Maybe they're saying something that's true to them personally, but it's not some universal truth that applies to all people across the board.

The next thing you need to do is to stop assuming. Don't be afraid to look at first principles. If somebody is saying a big claim, don't be afraid to look like a fool and say, "Hold on, what do you mean by this and by that?"

When you do that you stop people in their tracks. You keep them from taking leaps of faith in their argumentation. Mature, very balanced and advanced thinking people would appreciate that because they understand clean logic. They understand a clean progression of argumentation in their mind.

However, people who are lazy or insecure would attack you and that's okay. Be prepared for that but never fear out of asking to look at first principles because you will be the victim if you allow them to fool you because that's what's happening.

Do not assume. Don't be afraid to look at the premises behind their conclusion because there might not be a good logical fit. The bottom line to all of this is that if you adopt the mindset of being more critical and refusing to assume things. You always think you can choose your beliefs;

We sometimes make excuses when we really should just make routines.

Does this ever happen to you? You don't get around to everything you need to do, especially the important things. You go from one day to the next pushing responsibilities and tasks to tomorrow's to-do list.

You eventually become absolutely overwhelmed. You start to question your ability to ever accomplish the truly important things.

Don't beat yourself up. If you do, you might start making excuses.

Instead of rationalizing why the universe hates you and won't let you get more done, establish routines. Use systems and follow proven recipes for productivity. Find out what your time-efficient friends do and copy them. You don't have to reinvent the wheel.

You establish routines rather than falling back on excuses, which can help you get more out of your day.

Things to Do to Handle Anger at Work

It can be tricky to work out how to handle anger in the workplace. After all, it’s the place where you’re supposed to be professional and on top of things, right? And there is nothing less on top of things than losing your temper.

But anger is a natural human emotion. We all feel anger from time to time. So how can you stay in control and manage your anger when you’re at work?1. Step out of the situation

Whatever is happening, the first thing to do to avoid a blow-up is to remove yourself from the situation. If you can feel your anger rising, stay calm, and excuse yourself. You don’t need to explain. Just say you need to step out so you can calm down and come back to help find a solution to the problem.

2. Do something completely different

When you’re angry, you can’t think straight, and you’re in no state to start finding solutions. Go and do something completely different to take your mind off the situation. Take a walk, grab a coffee, or take an early lunch break.

Practice deep, slow breathing to get your heart rate down and more oxygen into your body.

3. Rewrite your mental script

When you’re angry, you’re likely to have words like unfair, always, never, ruined or failure going through your mind at top speed. You’ll be thinking irrationally and not able to be objective or logical about the situation.

Try acknowledging those negative thoughts and then switching them up with positive ones like, “I’m upset now, but it will be okay,” or “I can find a solution to this.”

4. Don’t blame the other guy

Chances are the person who upset you had no intention of disrespecting you or hurting your feelings. Most of the time, people do upsetting things unconsciously or carelessly, it’s rarely malicious.

The person who didn’t put more paper in the copier could have been in a hurry or didn’t see the warning light go on. The guy who hasn’t called you back might be sick or hadn’t gotten your message.

Before you lose your cool, count to ten and cut the other guy some slack.

5. Talk about it when you’re not mad

If you have a problem with someone in your professional life, it’s best to talk about it. Wait until you’re calm and can talk without getting upset. Use low key language to explain how their behavior makes you feel and what you need. Keep the focus on the effect on you and avoid blaming language.

4 Ways to Be Positive When You're On Your Own for the First Time

Moving out or going to college is such an exciting time in your life. Here you are, finally out in the world and on your own. You're responsible for yourself in a way you have never been before. What an opportunity to shine! Or is it?

In truth, this can seem kind of daunting. You might feel a little bit adrift, weighed down by the sudden responsibility of what it means to make your own decisions. Keeping a positive attitude is crucial in this time because it's this attitude that will help you to meet challenges and will steer you toward success.

What helps you stay upbeat when frankly, sometimes you don't have a clue what you're doing, and adulting seems hard?

Set Goals
We tend to feel most at sea when we're spending our time reacting to what goes on around us and not acting instead to get where we want to go. Ask yourself what you want this new life of yours to look like? Create goals that reflect this vision. These can include everything from how you want to continue learning or what career goals you have to what kind of home you're trying to create and what you want to do with your free time. Having a purpose and direction feels good, but the best part of this is having things to look forward to. Imagine your life once those goals are reached!

Track Your Moods
We all have down days. The key here is to not let them get the upper hand. If things are rough, give yourself a set time to feel sorry for yourself or be upset. When the time is up, though, you need to change direction. You should have a pretty good idea of what usually puts you in a more positive frame of mind. Do one of those things now that you really enjoy doing.

Try New Things
Living on your own gives you a lot of opportunities to do things for the first time. When you're constantly challenging yourself, you'll find you feel a lot more positive than when you allow yourself to get stuck in a rut. So, if you don't cook much, now is the perfect time to try a new recipe. Sample hobbies, go someplace new you've never been before.

See the Future
These first steps won't dictate the rest of your life. The first place you move very likely won't be the last place you live. College ends at some point. If you can visualize where you're going, it'll help you to keep today in perspective. Use this visualization anytime you feel discouraged.

Finally, try to enjoy the new experience. A positive mood starts with you deciding to be positive. You've got this, so go out there and confidently take on the world!

Welcome to the self-validation reflection guided meditation.
Find a quiet room and make yourself comfortable. You should take a posture or position you can maintain throughout the duration of this meditation. It should be comfortable, but you should also be able to remain alert.

Before we begin, I would like you to set yourself an intention. This intention should be to remain open and curious about your thoughts, feelings and internal experiences that surface during this period of reflection.

Let’s begin. Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Start by emptying your lungs and pushing your breath all the way out.

Draw a deep breath in to the count of one, two, three, four, five. And exhale to the count of one, two, three, four, five.

Inhale through your nose to the count of one, two, three, four, five. And exhale to the count of one, two, three, four, five.

As you breathe deeply, you feel your body settling into a natural rhythm. We begin at your heart space. Place one or both hands over your heart and allow them to lay at rest. When you are dealing with difficult emotions, thoughts, or experiences, this can provide you with comfort...

Welcome to The Mental Game. In this presentation, we're going to be covering four intriguing attitudes of successful entrepreneurs.

You may not even want to call these attitudes; you might want to call them characteristics or traits or behaviors, or even habits.

But I thought it would be cool to look at four things that are not necessarily covered in traditional business books or courses or seminars. Things you may have seen before but maybe didn't get all that much attention, that I personally believe can help you.

If you implement even some of these ideas, it can maybe help you get to that next level in your business, even if your life.

Let's take a look at what we're going to be covering here. 4 Mental Attitudes of Success:

A sense of MISSION - Successful entrepreneurs carry themselves with a sense of mission.

They go beyond OUTCOME-based goals and they focus on something a little bit different.

Successful entrepreneurs are very proficient at separating emotion from intellect, especially when it comes to decision making.

When the pressure is on, the best entrepreneurs actually get stronger and they get better at what they do and how they carry themselves.

Let's dive into this

Deleting Drama Means Realizing It's Not Always About YouDrama is all about emotions being exaggerated or manipulated. Since your emotions differ from those of other people, you might see the tension and possible problems where others see nothing to worry about. It is in this way that drama is very subjective. It differs from one person to another.

The Oxford Languages dictionary gives us this definition.

Drama – noun – "an exciting, emotional, or unexpected series of events or set of circumstances."

It's a series of events or situations where intense emotions are experienced. Many times you might feel threatened by what's going on. In most cases, the things you're feeling are largely negative.

Yes, there are situations where drama is potentially upbeat. Watching your favorite sports team play in a championship game is a drama of the highest order. You feel great when they win. Your dramatic experience is positive. Most of the time, though, the drama in our lives is such that we want to avoid it.

One way to disable drama daily is to realize that you don't always play a part in a particular situation.

It's not always about you. There are billions of people on the planet. They are involved in their own lives. While it may be sad to hear, most don't care about you or even know that you exist. So to interject yourself into activities and events that really don't require your input can potentially cause drama to unfold.

You're Never Responsible for the Actions of Others

Sometimes drama appears out of nowhere because of good intentions. You want to reach out and help somebody. You see a situation unfolding that you believe you can steer towards a positive outcome.

It's great to want to help people. Sometimes though, we enter a situation without all of the facts. What may look on the surface to be a problem might not be anything of the sort. If you jump into that situation with the best intentions, you can dramatically create a negative situation where none existed.

You should also remember that you can never control other people's actions.

All the world's best wishes and good intentions can't get some people to do what's best for them. This means your friends may constantly be involved in negative life experiences, and that causes drama in your mind. You want to help so badly. You wish they could see that what they're doing is causing a lot of negative tension in your group of friends.

The drama you're experiencing has to do with you and your feelings. Provide whatever help is needed. Then back out. Come to a place of acceptance. You've done what you can. Now calm your mind and emotions, and remember you're not responsible for other people's actions. This practice will help reduce the stress and drama you feel about the people in your life.

Tired? Always Lacking Energy? It Could Be Diabetes Knocking at Your Door

Two out of every three people are overweight or obese. (Some health authorities believe that number is as high as three out of four.) Go back just a few years and compare the prevalence rate of being overweight; you'll see it's on a steady and slow rise. It has been for decades.

You probably don't need to be told that carrying around excess body weight can be exhausting. It wears you down. Business Insider reports that gaining just 10 pounds physically alters your DNA, and not in a good way.

You're more likely to have feelings of depression and anxiety. Your brain chemistry is negatively affected. You have less energy, foods may seem like they have less flavor, and your sex life also pays the price.

By the way, packing on the pounds can lead to pre-diabetes and the development of type 2 diabetes.

100 Million Americans are Prediabetic

Pre-diabetes is a collection of conditions. When you have several symptoms, type 2 diabetes will develop if you don't take some course of action to prevent it. One of the biggest problems with prediabetes is that most people don't know they have it. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that over 80% of people with prediabetes have not been diagnosed or simply don't know they are on the road to type 2 diabetes.

This is not just a problem in the United States. Much of the world has adopted lifestyle practices custom-made for diabetes development. Little physical activity, high-stress levels, and poor eating habits are globally common. That means that prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, which are both avoidable and reversible, are a problem in most countries.

Those conditions might be what's robbing you of your energy.

Being overweight leads to fatigue. Carrying around all that extra weight requires energy. The person leading a lifestyle that caters to prediabetes often reaches for unhealthy energy sources. This spikes insulin and blood sugar. That can deliver dehydration and other factors which cause fatigue and a lack of energy. What can you do to keep this from happening to you?

Don't eat as many highly processed foods. Kick the sugar to the curb. Enjoy plenty of leafy greens and fresh vegetables. Get more healthy foods into your diet and eat less fast food.

Become more physically active. Get up and get moving. Enjoy physical activity whenever you are sedentary and sit for more than 30 or 45 minutes. These are simple tips to keep prediabetes and diabetes at bay. They might be all you need to enjoy better overall wellness and stop feeling tired and exhausted.

6 Must-Dos to Create Affirmations to Change in Your LifeAffirmations are powerful statements you can use to make positive changes in your life. They use the power of your subconscious mind to create change and help you reach your goals and dreams. Below are the aspects you need to know to generate the most effective affirmations to change your life.

  1. Choose Positivity

You may not realize you’re already using affirmations all the time. The trouble is, most people tend to repeat negative statements like “I can’t do it,” “I’ll never get ahead” or “life is hard.” Have a look at your own self-talk and see how often you’re using negative affirmations that keep you stuck in self-doubt and negativity.

You can choose to turn around your self-talk and build positive affirmations so that all your thoughts are supporting your life goals.

  1. Keep Affirmations Short

You can create powerful positive affirmations by making sure the language you use is focused and brief. A simple, straightforward statement will be more effective than a long one.

  1. Choose Your Words Carefully

Don’t use emotive language or words that have negative connotations. Focus on what you want rather than what you don’t want. A positive weight loss affirmation, for example, is “I am slender,” not “I am not fat.” Even saying, “I am losing weight” is focusing on the negative.

  1. Stick to the Present Tense

Use “I am“ statements to focus your mind on what you want. Saying “I will” or “I want” pushes your goal out into the indefinite future and doesn’t inspire you to reach your goal now.

  1. Use Visual Language that Feels Good

Think of how you want to feel when you reach your goal. Will you feel happy, grateful, relaxed? Choose words that create a powerful, positive image like “money is pouring into my life,” or “I feel strong and full of energy.” Imagine the numbers going up in your bank account, see yourself running that marathon or buying new clothes that fit perfectly.

  1. Build a positive affirmation habit

Positive affirmations are more powerful when they are repeated until they become part of your mindset. Make a commitment to yourself that you will repeat your affirmations out loud, at least three times a day. Schedule affirmation time in your schedule or set a reminder on your smartphone.

Feel relaxed and happy as you repeat your affirmations. Feel what it will be like when you achieve your goals.

When you focus your attention on what you want to be true in your life, you are much more likely to achieve it. Align your thoughts, feelings, and actions with your affirmations, so all your energy is flowing to achieving your goals.

The Word That Drama Queens (and Kings) Hate to HearDrama is often about control. A person will attempt to control a conversation or a group of people by stirring emotions into a frenzy. There are many times that drama isn't intentional. A person behaves a certain way, and a problematic ripple effect dials up the emotional tension.

Whether drama is intentionally or unconsciously created, it must be avoided at all costs. Left to do its damage, negative drama can ruin relationships, destroy careers and create chronic stress that leads to physical health problems.

If you are sick and tired of dealing with drama daily, start using the two-letter word drama queens, and kings hate to hear.

Just say…

“No!”

Sometimes we forget that it's okay to say no. It really is. You are the only person who controls how you act in any situation. That means if you decide to say no as an answer to any question, you are entirely in your right to do so.

This is true on the job and in your personal dealings. It's okay to tell your friend that you can't drive her to the airport for what seems like the hundredth time.

No, you won't help your coworker on a project when she thinks she won't hit her deadline. You remind her that this happens frequently and that you have your own work responsibilities to deal with.

When you interfere with pursuing your dreams and goals, your mind and body notice. This can lead to self-resentment, frustration, and self-destructive behavior. You're always taking a backseat to your job or some friend, and a stress response is triggered. Your body begins to release cortisol and other stress-related chemicals that cause physical health problems when they are manufactured in abundance.

Sometimes all you have to do is answer no to a request to enjoy less stress and drama.

By the Way, You May Have To Tell Yourself No from Time to Time

You might not just be a "yes man" to others. Sometimes we must tell ourselves no to create a less hectic and stressful life.

You get home from work, and the house is a mess. You know you should clean up because you feel much better having a tidy home. You also feel like you deserve a night on the town with your friends. Maybe staying home and cleaning up is the smart move here. You have to say no to what looks like a lovely evening out because of the possible negative result.

Here's what we're talking about.

You decide to skip cleaning the house and end up staying out late with your friends. Your home is still messy the next morning when you wake up. You burnt the candle at both ends and didn't get much sleep.

You're grumpy in the morning. This translates to your work environment, and you have a terrible day. You experience drama directly related to the fact that you couldn't tell yourself no when considering going out on the town the previous evening.

Sometimes you have to say no to yourself and others. It's honorable to be that friend everyone can count on. Just don't let it get out of control. You might find that you're always taking care of other people's problems instead of your own. This can create drama in your life because you're not handling your own needs and responsibilities.

How to Destroy Drama with Meditation

The Merriam-Webster dictionary has been telling us what words mean since 1828. That means their dictionary is pretty reliable. We can trust them to give us the straight dope when we're looking to define the word "drama." Here's what they have to say.

Drama – noun – "a state, situation, or series of events involving interesting or intense conflict of forces."

You probably have your own definition of the word. Suffice it to say that most of us would like less drama in our lives. One way you can do that is by meditating regularly.

How Meditation Can Prevent Drama

Did you know that you are either predisposed to drama or against it? Dramatic people don't want to hear this. Even though they are a constant source of negativity and drama, they won't admit this fact to themselves or others.

Their mental and emotional state of being is conducive to causing drama.

Fortunately, this is a mindset that can be changed. People who experience high levels of stress and have a hectic, constantly busy lifestyle are more conducive to finding themselves in dramatic situations. Drop stress and anxiety levels, and you create a calmer, more peaceful mind.

This naturally means a person is less likely to create drama. It also means an emotional balance that doesn't respond negatively when drama is experienced.

Meditate regularly to reach this path of mental wellness and peace of mind.

A Simple Meditation Primer for Beginners

Meditation is not difficult. Anyone can do it. By the way, less drama in your life is only one of many significant benefits meditation delivers. Eastern cultures have used meditation for thousands of years for its anti-aging benefits. There are more mental and physical health benefits this simple practice can also give you.

Here's all you need to do.

Find a quiet spot with few distractions. Get comfortable, either sitting or lying down. Close your eyes and clear your mind. Breathe naturally and normally. Don't try to control your breathing. Just experience it.

Put all your attention on the breathing process. Understand what you're feeling in your body as you breathe in and out. If your mind wanders, just drive yourself back to a mentally clear state.

Do this for a few minutes each day. You will instantly find yourself stressing out less and experiencing less drama. You also lower your risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, and other stress-related conditions.

Daring To Be UncomfortableDaring to be uncomfortable will take practice. It isn’t easy to stretch your limits. There will be points where you want to give up. Isn’t that true of any growth or improvement, though? If it was easy everyone would be doing it. Don’t just settle for what you have.

Don’t just settle for what you know now. Be a curious person. It’s good to daydream, it’s even better to give your mind a destination while it wanders. You should create a habit out of learning new skills. For example, perhaps every Saturday, you can make a point of trying a new cuisine or watch a movie that you wouldn’t normally select. You can embrace discomfort in every aspect of your life.

Once you do this for a while, you’ll realize that you’re doing bigger things automatically. Like, learning a new skill. Or, taking a new class. You don’t have to head to the community college to do that either.

There are plenty of online options available and there are even free resources that allow you to take real college courses condensed into a 6-12 week course. Okay, you’re not going to earn a degree, but you will get to learn more about a subject.

Growth is about taking action. Daily action. Disciplined action. Measured action. It’s pursuing opportunities that will take you well beyond your comfort zone. It might mean that you have to take one giant leap into the unknown, but you do it anyway.

Manifestation: A New Way of Thinking

Manifestation is somewhat of a buzzword in society today. Everyone seems to be talking about it, writing about it, practicing it, or trying to implement, but does anyone really know what it is? Manifestation is sometimes referred to as the law of attraction, or karma.

It’s the idea that what you put out into the universe, whether actions, words, or energy, will come back to you eventually (Hurst, K., 2012, July 8, What Is The Law Of Attraction? And How To Use It Effectively). Thus, the idea is that in order to be on the receiving end of good things we need to be thinking and doing good things.

So how does manifestation benefit us and how do we incorporate it into our lives? Honestly, manifestation is already at work in our lives, but most of us are unaware of this fact. Thus, many of us are manifesting negative things and outcomes simply because our thoughts and actions are more negative than positive.

So in order for manifestation to work more in our favor we have to be intentional about changing our thoughts and subsequently aligning our actions so that we begin to manifest good in our lives.

Visualize

The first step of manifestation is visualizing what you want for yourself. Whether it’s good health, success, or love, you have to first get clear about what you want. Then you can begin visualizing what your life would be like with that thing in it.

Visualization moves you from simply desiring something to actively assessing how having that thing will impact your life (Bernstein, 2016). Many people use vision boards as a tangible way to practice this concept. By consistently seeing the things you want in life and the impact those things will have on your life, you increase your level of expectation.

Believe

Once you have a vision of what you want and how your life would improve as a result, you have to believe that it can happen. It’s one thing to want something, it’s another thing to fully expect that something can come into your life (Bernstein, G. 2016, December 13, The Five Principles For Manifesting Your Desires). More than that, one should consider moving from a thought process that believes it can happen, into a thought process that believes it will in fact happen for you. It is with this confidence that you can then attract those things you desire.

Operate

A final key to manifesting the things you want in life is to operate as though those things have/will happen. You might be able to visualize and believe, but it can be a challenge for people to operate as though the thing they want will actually happen. More often than not, people do visualize and believe, yet they still make decisions that demonstrate they have doubt. Operating as though the thing has happened or will happen demonstrates a level of confidence that is more likely to attract what you want in your life.

Through the principles of manifestation you can attract a host of positives for the mind, body, and spirit. Active practice of manifestation can be linked to improved mental & physical health, positive friend & romantic relationships, and even success & financial prosperity.

Because manifestation is primarily about shifting of the mindset and aligning of actions and behaviors to match that more positive mindset, there is truly no limit to what you can manifest. So develop a practical way to incorporate manifestation in your daily life and see what good comes unto you.

Why Don’t I Finish What I Start?Maybe you're reading this article as you are about to abandon the twelfth project you've started and left unfinished in the last three months. Maybe you've never been able to finish something you've always wanted to complete. Either way, there are reasons you don't finish what you start, and it may not be for the reasons you think.

Procrastination

The number one reason you probably aren't finishing what you start is that you are probably procrastinating. To solve your procrastination habit, you need to know why you are procrastinating. Are you constantly being distracted by other tasks? Do you harbor a fear that you won't like working on your project? Once you get to the bottom of your reasons for procrastination, you'll better be able to combat it and conquer it. Then you'll be able to work more on the project you want to finish.

Lethargy

Another reason you may not be finishing what you start is that you suffer from feelings of lethargy. Lethargy is when you have no energy because you have lost enthusiasm for the task at hand. You might have lost enthusiasm because you've been working on the task too long and procrastinating, as mentioned above. You feel that you are unappreciated for your efforts. You can conquer lethargy by breaking tasks into much smaller pieces and rewarding yourself along the way.

You Overestimated Yourself or the Project

When you start something new, you are often fueled by excitement, and this may lead you to misjudge a project and the work it will take on your end to complete it. Then, during the project, you may realize you don't have the capabilities or time to finish what you started. The best way to solve this problem is to be more realistic while planning a project. Make sure you carefully lay out your entire plan to see the project more clearly and solve future issues before they occur.

Overall, finishing all the projects you start is difficult, but this doesn't mean you should give up so easily. Instead, work to find the reasons behind your procrastination and lethargy and work to solve them. You can also boost yourself by considering every project you start more in-depth at the beginning of the project. Pretty soon, you'll be well on your way to finishing that one project you've just never gotten around to.

The Four Characteristics Of Successful Entrepreneurs.

The Science Behind the Power of AffirmationsLots of people are using positive affirmations in their daily life to help them reach their goals. But affirmations are more than motivational slogans. There is plenty of scientific evidence to show how and why affirmations work on your subconscious mind. There are even health benefits to using affirmations!

The research that supports the use of affirmations tends to fall into two camps: psychological theory and neuroscience.

Affirmations and Your Identity - Self-affirmation Theory

Most forms of psychological therapy or counseling are based on the idea that you can improve your mental health by changing your view of yourself. You can change the script about who you are and bolster your self-esteem by acknowledging and focusing on your positive aspects to become more confident about your capabilities.

Self-affirmation theory asserts that your self-identity is flexible and that you can change your view of yourself as a person. This means you can choose to see yourself as strong, smart, and capable of doing whatever you want. And this is where affirmations that align with your personal values can be particularly powerful.

Affirmations and Your Brain

There is increasing research that shows the physical impact of affirmations on the structure of your brain. When you practice positive affirmations, you are introducing new concepts to your brain and opening up new neural pathways. This is what helps to change your mindset from negative self-doubt to positive confidence. Scientists have mapped the changes that occur in the brain when we choose to move to a more optimistic frame of mind, building, and reinforcing those neural pathways.

When you think about your own personal values, you are activating the part of your prefrontal cortex that is involved in self-related processing of information and positive valuation. Repeating your affirmations regularly throughout your day keeps activating this part of your brain, reinforcing positive self-identity.

Affirmations and Your Health

Science has also proved some surprising physical health benefits of practicing positive affirmations.

Daily practice of affirmations has a measurable impact on your resilience and how well you deal with stress. As well as having a positive effect on depression and anxiety, regular and consistent use of affirmations can help lower your levels of cortisol and adrenaline, both harmful stress hormones. As your stress response declines, your heart rate and blood pressure will decrease, reducing your risk of stroke and heart attack. People who use affirmations are also more likely to lead healthier lifestyles, exercise more, and eat a healthy diet.

Science shows us that we have nothing to lose and everything to gain by using positive affirmations daily.

If you’re serious about building a happy, successful life, you’ll want to know more about visualization. Successful entrepreneurs and elite athletes have known for decades that a regular visualization practice can give them the edge in achieving their goals and coming out on top.

You may not realize that a key element of the Law of Attraction is being able to clearly imagine what you want more of in your life. Here are four secret sauce ways you can use visualization to manifest your dream life.

Relax Your Mind

Visualization isn’t something you fit in on your way to the store. It works best if you have a calm, open mind. You can find some quiet space in your day where you can be uninterrupted, and just sit with your vision for a time.

When your body and mind are relaxed, you can focus on what it is you really want to achieve. When you wake up and right before you go to sleep are the perfect time to practice visualization. You’re already relaxed, you’re not likely to be distracted or interrupted, and you can slide into your beautiful vision of success.

Taste Your Visualization

Not just taste, but hear, see, and smell your success. Amp up your visualization by using all your senses to imagine your future life. Build the scene in your mind and list all the things you can see. What are your surroundings like? What can you hear? What good smells are in your new life? Maybe you’re wearing your favorite perfume. What are you wearing, how does it feel? Imagine yourself in a gourmet restaurant with your loved one. What do you order? Visualize lifting the fork to your mouth and reveling in the taste.

Make Your Vision Heart-centered

Make your visualization even more realistic by imagining all your feelings about living in your future successful life. Are you happy? Is it fun? Are you and your family proud of your new life?

Make Visualization a Habit

Like exercise or eating a healthful diet, visualization works best if you develop a habit of doing it often and doing it right.

Building your visualization muscle will work best if you associate it with doing something you already do without thinking. That’s why visualization practice before you get out of bed in the morning, and before you go to sleep at night is really effective. You build the habit without making it an ‘extra’ in your day.

The Difference between Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Just Feeling TiredWe all have times when we lack energy. After a long, hard day at work, you might be tired in the evening. Is that normal, or is it a sign of a bigger problem? It might just be normal if you're tired after exercising, especially if you're not used to intense physical activity.

On the other hand, you might have chronic fatigue syndrome, which is a lot more common than most people think.

What Is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)?

With the word "fatigue" in its name, it's easy to understand that CFS is an energy problem. According to a four-year study out of Wichita, Kansas, this is an issue for more than 800,000 people in the United States. Women seem much more susceptible than men, almost four times as much.

The biggest problem is that this is almost always an undiagnosed condition.

Many medical professionals haven't been trained to properly diagnose CFS as opposed to exhaustion related to other health issues. The American ME and CFS Society reports that only about 16% of the people with this illness have been diagnosed.

The problem is the same in Great Britain, where it's estimated that more than 250,000 people have chronic fatigue syndrome. Statistics from the Netherlands, Africa, Japan, Australia, and Canada show this is a global issue.

Here are a few of the classic symptoms of CFS.

· Difficulty falling to sleep and staying asleep

· Muscle aches and pains

· Problems paying attention and staying focused

· Memory issues

· Joint pain

· Swollen lymph nodes

· Flu-like symptoms

· A chronic lack of energy

If untreated, CFS can be very debilitating. As you can see from the list of symptoms, it's easily misdiagnosed. These are conditions that might appear with several health problems.

That's why you should consider talking to your doctor if you often feel tired. That's not a normal situation.

We all have busy, hectic lives. Because of our sedentary nature, many of us might experience exhaustion or lack of energy. That can certainly be normal when you consider modern lifestyle habits. It's not normal when this condition persists.

If you've experienced the above symptoms for six months or more, schedule an appointment with your doctor. Mention chronic fatigue syndrome specifically and be open to treatment. This condition is easily managed, but not until you've received the proper diagnosis.

Your Nightly Smartphone Usage Is Making You Tired During the DayMany of us sure do have an infatuation with technology. Are you in love with your smartphone?

Maybe your cell phone isn't as smart. It doesn't have all the capabilities of the latest models. Even so, if it has an electronic display (and they all do), it's slowly and methodically robbing you of your energy.

Many of us complain of a lack of energy. We're moving through our daily routine and constantly reaching for a caffeinated drink or sugary treat for an energy boost. This practice can deliver a huge jolt of energy for a short period. As you know, it's almost always followed by a crash where our eyelids are drooping, and we feel like we want to lie down.

Instead of turning to unhealthy energy boosters, you can manufacture plenty of all-day energy simply by putting your phone to bed before you hit the sack.

How Your Smartphone Fakes You Into Thinking It's Daytime

How many electronic displays do you have in your home? There's your phone, of course. You probably have television sets and tablets. Maybe there's a desktop TV or gaming system in your home. All those electronic displays deliver blue-colored light to some degree.

The blue colors created by your phone or tablet are almost identical to the natural blue light found in sunshine. It slows down the production of melatonin. That's a hormone that triggers sleep at night.

Bathing in any electronic blue light at night tricks your body and mind into thinking you should be awake. Your circadian rhythm (your natural sleeping and waking cycle) is being given false information. Rather than promoting sleep, your nighttime blue screen viewing is robbing you of energy.

Studies show that divorcing yourself from electronic displays at least an hour before bedtime improves sleep habits. It makes it easier to fall asleep. Your quality of sleep is improved. Your chances of enjoying a full sleep cycle are boosted.

That means the following morning, you wake up easily. You don't have to hit the snooze button five times and choke down two or three cups of sugar-laden coffee just to wake up.

If you drag during the day and feel like you need more energy, do it naturally. Limit your exposure to electronic devices with displays at night. This practice will help you sleep better at night, so you aren't tired throughout the day.

8 Brilliant Ways to Bring Excitement Back to Your Cubicle JobDay jobs can get a little…dull…sometimes. Especially when you’re caught in a cubicle, staring at the same four walls day after day. After all, how fun can it be when your entire existence has been confined down to a desk, a computer screen, and whatever bits of office furniture you’ve managed to make fit?

If you’re finding yourself a little burned out, then try one of these brilliant ways to bring excitement back to your cubicle job.

Start Something New

What isn’t working right now? If you’ve spent any time in your job, you’ve probably already identified some problem areas. Asking your boss to let you lead up a project to solve those problem areas will infuse new enthusiasm into your day while at the same time addressing a definite need.

Learn a New Skill

It could be your job has grown stale because you’re doing too much of the same old thing. Consider learning some new skills. This would make you available to work in areas you haven’t before.

Take on More Responsibility

It’s a lot easier to feel enthusiastic about a project you have more of a stake in. Ask to help. Volunteering to take an active part in something gives you ownership and also shows a real go-getter attitude.

Isn’t it Time for a Promotion?

Are you perhaps feeling stagnant because you’ve been in the same place for a while? Schedule a meeting with the supervisor. Even if you don’t get a promotion, you will at least be able to ask what you can do to move ahead.

Get to Know Your Co-Workers

Make better use of your time in the breakroom by networking with others in the company. You never know who you’re going to meet, or how that person might be beneficial to you.

Start Fresh

Have you lost sight of your goal? If this is the case, it’s time to revisit your vision. What are you aiming for? Where are you in the process? Finding you’re still on track revitalizes work.

Redecorate

Maybe it’s the cubicle itself. How about redecorating? If you’re allowed, bring something from home to cheer the place up.

Take Time Off

A vacation or even a more prolonged sabbatical might be in order if you’re really burned out. When is the last time you had some time off? If you do take a break, DO NOT bring work with you. This is your time away to recharge.

In the end, your mood is really up to you. If you’re still struggling at work after trying these tips, you might want to consider moving on. It could be you’re just not in the right place.

Burnout may be as a result of excessive stress but they do not mean the same thing. Burnout is a cycle of negative emotions, paralysis and withdrawal. It is the body’s response to putting too much effort into something without taking in what you require to restore yourself. It is mental, emotional and physical exhaustion that leads to diminished interest in performing tasks.

Physical symptoms of burnout include having low energy, headaches, muscle tension, digestive disorders, frequent colds and changes in one’s sleep patterns. Its mental symptoms include feeling sad, inadequate, frustrated, unappreciated and irritable. These symptoms can result in withdrawal, accidents, increased sick days and crying. One may increase their consumption of food or alcohol to soothe themselves.

Stress on the other hand, involves too many pressures that demand too much from you either physically or psychologically. Stressed people though can still see a light at the end of the tunnel, they just often can't figure a way to get to it.

Stress is just a day-to-day experience but burnout is a more serious consequence of the build-up of too much stress which causes the individual person to shut down.

If stress persists on a full scale for a long period of time, there are increased risks of burnout. Although stress is an essential pre-requisite for burnout, burnout is not necessarily the result of too much stress. For burnouts to occur there must be an additional psychological factor.

People who are stressed can often still function and do all that the tasks or jobs required of them. This is due to the fact that different people can bear different levels of stress for different lengths of time. This is quite a contrast to people experiencing a burnout. Burnout most times leads to a total shutdown of all systems in the body and it causes a person to become completely nonfunctional. Burnout causes people to experience long-term exhaustion and diminished interest in life as a whole.

Burnout

· It is characterized by disengagement

· The person’s emotions are blunted

· It gives one a feeling of helplessness and hopelessness

· It makes one lose motivation, ideals, and hope

· It leads to detachment and depression

· Its primary damage is emotional

Stress

· It is characterized by over engagement

· The person’s emotions are over reactive

· It gives one a feeling of urgency and hyperactivity

· It leads to loss of energy

· It leads to anxiety disorders

· Its primary damage is physical

Achieving inner peace is a personal journey. What works for one person may not work for someone else. Yet, there are certain things all of us can do daily that aims at reducing stress levels. They also help restore our sense of internal balance and tranquility, while lowering heart rate and blood pressure.

Do Some Meditation. Meditation has been used for thousands of years. It’s a holistic treatment that helps soothe the body and spirit by reducing stress levels and realigning our chakras, or energy centers in our bodies.

The best thing is meditation comes in all forms and shapes. You can do it for however long, or short a time you can fit into your busy day.

Types of meditation include Mindfulness meditation, mantra meditation, guided meditation, loving-kindness meditation, spiritual meditation and body-mind meditation, progressive relaxation and transcendental meditation. As you can see there is plenty of options to choose from.

Take Time to Appreciate Nature. There’s something special about spending time outside among the trees and plants, smelling that fresh air. It has a profound impact on our physical and emotional health.

Schedule a weekly walk through the park. Even 10 minutes can make help decrease anxiety and prevent depression.

Other ways to enjoy nature include, Gardening, drawing or painting outside, which is very soothing and also doing your workout outdoors.

Be Grateful Every day. Finding your inner peace means practicing gratitude every day. This means you focus more on the things you have in life, not dwell on what’s missing from it. Some people use a gratitude journal to write down what they're most thankful for. Try to turn this into a daily habit.

Let Go Of The Past. We’ve all done things in our past we’re not happy with. But living in the past is a sure-fire way to drain your energy. To break this cycle, you have to take actionable steps towards letting the past go. Whatever it is, whatever happened, just accept that it’s over and done with.

And the final way to achieve inner peace is to hold yourself accountable. Being responsible for your actions takes some maturity and confidence. It may be hard to face up to what you’ve said or done.

It’s also hard listening to someone critiquing your actions. Yet, accepting criticism helps you learn from your mistakes and improve yourself. As a result, you’ll become more resilient.

7 Tips for Negotiating a Raise During Your Annual ReviewIt’s that time again. Are you ready? Most people look at their annual review with about as much anticipation as one would a root canal. No one truly enjoys the recital of the year’s successes, or worse, the failures.

The worst part? The part of the conversation where money becomes the focal point of the discussion. In fact, more people dread this aspect of the review so much that they’ll take whatever is offered by way of raise without so much as a murmur.

While you’re certainly being agreeable enough, did you know you might be leaving money on the table? In fact, your annual review is the perfect place to negotiate a raise, setting yourself up for a significant earnings increase.

Here’s how to do it:

Document Everything

Your preparation for this moment should have started in the days following your last annual review. If you’ve done your homework, you’ve kept a record of what work you’ve accomplished, and all projects you’ve been part of, along with a list of your personal contributions to each. Weren’t quite prepared enough? Sit down and recreate as much of this material as you can in the days leading up to your review (and remember to start documenting for next year immediately afterward).

Know the Numbers

How much are others in your position earning, keeping in mind your experience and what part of the country you live in? Don’t know? Find out online. Knowledge is power.

Keep Your Ear to the Ground

How are other people’s reviews going? Listen for word about whether the expected raises were more or less for this year.

What is Your Dollar Amount?

Using the information you have now, have a figure in mind going into the meeting. What amount would you like to see for the coming year?

Hold Your Ground

Once you’re in the meeting, don’t be afraid to use the information you’ve brought to the table to make your case. No matter what, don’t be combative, belligerent, emotional, or otherwise negative in your approach. Simply state the facts and go from there.

Ask for a Plan

Still got a ‘no’? Talk to your employer about what needs to happen to gain the desired level of salary. Make a timeline and ask for another review somewhere down the road to revisit the issue after you’ve made those changes.

Make it Official

Once you have a plan in place (or better yet, a promise of a raise) make sure you have the details in writing. This doesn’t have to be some long official document. Even a quick memo sent to HR and your boss should suffice. Make sure to include any details that came out in the discussion.

Do you sometimes feel like your emotions are out of control? Do you lose your temper quickly or often regret how you treated someone else? Let’s review the warning signs of poor emotional health.

Isolation or Social Withdrawal. If you find yourself isolating, your emotional health may be suffering. If you are unsure about your relationship with yourself, you might avoid relationships with others. If you find that you are spending more time alone and are turning away opportunities to be with loved ones and friends, your emotional health may need some attention.

Blaming Others. One of the most common forms of self-sabotage is to blame other people for your own mistakes or failures. Blaming is a sign that you have not accepted responsibility for your own emotions, behaviors, or choices, and that you lack the self-awareness necessary to process how you feel about your situation.

Arguing. If you find that you get into a lot of arguments, whether it is with friends, coworkers, family, or even complete strangers, then this is a sign that you are not processing your emotions well. When you hold things in, they can manifest as anger, and when you are not attuned to others’ feelings, you may find yourself frustrated with their behaviors.

Regretting Your Behavior. How often do you think to yourself, “I really wish I hadn’t done that. What is WRONG with me that I can’t control myself” When you are not dealing with your emotions in healthy ways, it can lead to decisions that do not support good health or that hard your relationships with others.

Being Confused by Others’ Emotions. If you struggle with emotional health, it can be difficult to understand or deal with other people’s emotions, too. If you are often confused about why other people react the way they do or are annoyed that someone has an emotional reaction to a situation, it is a sign that your own emotional wellness is not that great.

Trouble in Relationships. Whether it is friends, family, or romantic partners, if you find that people are always leaving or finding ways to spend less time with you, that is a big red flag that you need to improve your emotional wellness. Cultivating and maintaining relationships is a sign of emotional health, and if you lack in this area, then working on your own emotional wellness is a significant first step.

How Do Toxic Relationships Affect Us?
Toxic relationships are relationships where you usually feel worse being with a person than you would feel being without them.

Sometimes, when you love someone, it can be difficult to leave the relationship behind. As difficult as it is, you should cut off a toxic relationship because it has huge implications for your health and happiness.

Toxic Relationships Damage Your Mental Health

Mental health is critical when it comes to being successful and happy in your life. The number one thing that toxic relationships do is destroy your mental health. You will feel like you are constantly locked in a mental battle with your partner, and this will leave you feeling exhausted all the time. This exhaustion, combined with the low self-worth that you feel from your partner constantly putting you down, will increase your stress levels and could lead to depression. Depression can be a slippery slope in mental health and can lead to other conditions manifesting.

Toxic Relationships Change Your View of the WorldWhen you are in a toxic relationship, you will likely feel anxious about several things with your partner. You may be afraid to ask them to do things or not expect them to help you. When this happens day in and day out, you will soon think that everyone in the world is like this when they are not.

This will make you an overall pessimistic person, and you will likely lose friends over it. They will tell you that you are in a toxic relationship and should leave, but you won't see the point.

Toxic Relationships Affect Your Future RelationshipsAnother effect of toxic relationships that most people don't realize is that they affect your future relationships. Spending too much time in toxic relationships will cause you not to know how a healthy relationship is supposed to feel. When a healthy relationship presents itself, you may not even realize it.

Additionally, you may be hesitant to start a new relationship because your last one went so badly. This apprehension can lead to you pushing people away when you may need them most.

No matter how you look at it, being in a toxic relationship is terrible for you. It affects your mental health, your worldview, and even the relationships you may have in the future. This is why you should never stay in a relationship that you think may be toxic—instead, you should get out.

3 Ways to Handle a Toxic Relationship

So maybe you've recently discovered that your relationship is toxic. One of the reasons a relationship is toxic is because it is so difficult to leave, and you may feel totally and completely isolated.

You might be wondering how you should deal with a toxic relationship. Below are three ways

When you are in a toxic relationship, you will lie to protect yourself from the other person's wrath and lie to protect yourself from the truth. Well, it's time to stop lying. If you aren't truly happy in the relationship, you need to tell yourself that. If you think you deserve better, be honest about that too.

Next, start standing up in your relationship. Likely, the other person will be shocked. This may lead to them avoiding you, which might be a good thing when it comes to leaving a toxic relationship.

The Benefit of Accepting Those You Don’t Like and How to Get StartedLet’s face it, you’re not going to like everyone. Sometimes the feeling is mutual. We meet someone who just rubs us wrong. You’re instant rivals, right down to the barely suppressed sneer and curled lip.

Other times it’s not quite so dramatic. You might be making every effort to build a relationship, but they’re just not having it. Or there’s some previous history standing in the way of a relationship with someone.

Whatever the case, there comes a time to let dislike go. Holding onto animosity, even something so subtle as not wanting to be around a certain individual at work only winds up hurting you in the end. In fact, you might be missing out on some hidden benefits by accepting someone you don’t like.

Intrigued? Read on to discover the why of it, and better yet, the how.

The benefits of accepting those you dislike are many:

· Reduces stress caused by the tension within the relationship

· Cuts down anxiety regarding what the other person will say or do

· Frees you from destructive thought patterns regarding this individual

· Allows you to enjoy your relationships fully without worrying about how someone will or won’t react

In order to get started, you only need to follow these three steps.

Address Any Fears

Frequently, when we dislike someone, it’s because they’re triggering us somehow. By looking deeper into the emotions being raised, and addressing them, you’ll be able to let go of a lot of the negativity you’re feeling toward them. This is especially true of fears, which have a way of looking like a lot of other things, such as dislike.

Let Go of the Anger

Much like fears, anger has a way of keeping up a pretense of hearty dislike. This is what happens when you let things fester, especially over something you’ve been holding onto for a while. Pro tip? Try forgiveness. Lay the past to rest between you and try accepting this individual now, in the moment.

Look for the Good in the Relationship

If you’re caught up in dislike, you might not have noticed there has been a positive impact on your relationship. Look for the things you’ve learned from the individual. Even harsh lessons have a way of guiding us onto new paths, benefitting us in the long run.

Sometimes we do ourselves a great disservice by hanging onto an immediate feeling of dislike for someone. As humans who grow and change, if we allow for it, relationships with those we don’t like can improve. Even if the connection never becomes stronger, accepting that the person is just the way they are will bring more peace into your life.

5 Tips on How to Manage Your Energy Levels

The varying degrees of your energy level can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Sometimes you have to have the energy to complete a task or activity and other times you seem to have the most energy when you’re trying to relax. If you can learn how to manage your energy levels effectively, you can move ahead rather than lag behind.

Here are some tips about how to manage your energy levels so that you’re ready for anything – any time.

  1. Determine the times you’re most energetic. Some people are more energetic in the mornings and others are night owls. You should be able to determine from past experience which time of day you get more done. Those are the times you should schedule the most harrowing or mind bending of tasks.

  2. Identify what drains you of your energy. Be honest about this assessment. When you know which obstacles and situations keep you from being the best you can be, you can do what it takes to minimize them or eradicate them from your life.

  3. When you do have energy is it negative or positive? If you have lots of energy, but your output is all about negativity, you are likely in a constant reactive mode rather than a positive, active mode. Negative, but energetic people never seem to have enough time to get things done.

  4. Use your energy to make headway, not merely survive. We all have increasing demands on our time. The way that we meet it determines whether we go through life just barely getting by or having the energy to advance. Quit rushing through in survival mode simply to get things done. Choose performance over immediate solutions.

  5. Be consistent in the way you handle situations. When you experience energy highs and lows, you may find yourself reacting to situations according to your energy level. If you’re energetic, you can be positive, but if you’re lethargic you could react in a totally negative manner. Try to be consistent in your reactions and it will help your energy levels to be consistent.

Thomas Leonard, a highly successful financial planner and business entrepreneur says that time is an illusion – “There’s no such thing as time management. There’s only activity management in the time we’re given.” How much activity you get done in that allotted time is directly responsible for how energetic you are.

Make your activities into priorities according to your energy level. Performing low-energy tasks at times when you’re least energetic and high-energy tasks at times when you energy level is highest can help you meet all the demands and expectations and still have time to relax and enjoy life.

4 Steps to Controlling Your Anger Triggers

Everyone has their own little quirks. Things that make them irritated, frustrating, or downright angry. You could probably list your own triggers right now—little stuff like clutter or having to wait around. Maybe you can’t stand a particular word or phrase, or you find it impossible to work if there’s noise. The thing about triggers is that they’re often small things that tip you over the edge, and before you know it, you’ve lost your temper over something that in the scheme of things, doesn’t really matter.

Here are four steps you can take to manage your anger triggers better.

1. Take control

The first thing is to realize that you are totally in control of how you react. Work out what your triggers are, and you can take your power back. You can anticipate and plan for situations where you know you’re likely to blow your top.

2. Learn to read your body

Be conscious of how your anger manifests in your body. Likely your heart rate will go up, or your hands and jaw will clench. You might feel breathless or even get a stomachache. Tune into what your body is telling you, and you’ll learn to be able to stop the process of reacting. And remember the feelings themselves aren’t ‘bad’ but how you choose to respond to those feelings can be harmful, even destructive.

Instead of sweeping the papers off your desk onto the floor, or yelling, take a deep breath or go for a walk. Feeling triggered is often a result of low blood sugar, fatigue, or dehydration. Taking care of your physical needs can help you manage your emotional needs as well and make you more resilient to stresses and triggers.

3. Identify what triggered you

Once you can interrupt the trigger response, you can start to work out what it was that set it off in the first place. Did you feel disrespected? Unheard? Were you mistreated or misunderstood? If someone pushed in front of you in the coffee line, what did that signal to you? That your needs aren’t important?

What about if someone talks over you or interrupts in a meeting? As well as being rude, you could feel sidelined, humiliated even.

4. Choose your plan of action

Whatever your triggers might be, it’s totally up to you how you react. You can anticipate how you might feel and what you might do or say in response. Take a deep breath, detach from the situation, and focus on how you want to feel. You can choose to stay calm in triggering situations – it’s up to you.

3 Ways to Stay Hopeful During Uncertain TimesLife isn’t always the way we want it to be. All we have to do is to glance at the headlines to see that we live in very uncertain times. The job we thought was safe might not be there tomorrow. There’s always some natural disaster somewhere. And people seem to be more cruel than kind.

It’s easy to get caught up in a negative spiral of self-doubt and anxiety. How do you stay hopeful and positive when around you all you see are negative messages and fear?

Be here now

By focusing on the present, you will find it easier to take a step back and act as an observer. By practicing mindfulness, you’ll see you can enjoy the simple things in life, no matter how bad things may seem. All worries and fears of the unknown can melt away if you focus on the present. Look for things in your life for which you're grateful.

Look for ways to exhibit compassion and empathy

Spreading hope needs to start somewhere. Begin with the one person you can control, yourself. By looking for opportunities to pay it forward through random acts of kindness, you then become the impetus for others to do the same. Your compassionate heart and ability to walk in another’s shoes will be the guide to those around you. And even if it’s not? You’ll have at least changed one heart - your own.

Do something

The person without hope becomes stagnant, preferring to hide from the world. If you find that’s the case with yourself, then it’s time to force yourself into action, even if you don’t feel like it. Get out of the house. Call a friend and suggest an outing or go by yourself. Find a green space somewhere because these places have been found to create calm and contentment in those who spend even a few minutes there. The goal is to find a positive action and embrace it, whatever that might be. Pick up litter, hug a child, do something that makes you feel good inside, and there you will find hope blossoming.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the negativity of the world around you. Only by actively seeking hope will you find it. By practicing these three steps regularly, you’ll find yourself able to look forward to each day, no matter what’s going on around you.

5 Steps To Shut Down Your Inner Critic

Your inner monologue, the private conversations you have inside your head, are a powerful part of your ability to succeed in life. When the voice inside your head is a constant cheerleader and proponent for you, you feel as though you can achieve anything. But, when that inner voice is a persistent critic, always telling you that you are going to fail, then you will have a challenging time achieving your dreams.

Shutting down that inner critic, the one that is always second guessing you or reminding you of your flaws, is a dominant player in your personal fulfillment and success. And learning how to shut down that negative voice can help you gain confidence and finally achieve your goals.

Start By Listening To The Voice. You may not even be aware of how often your inner critic is chiming in. Pay attention to what you are thinking and saying to yourself throughout your day. Getting a handle on what your voice is saying is the first step to silencing it.

Talk To Yourself Like You Would A Friend. When you hear that inner monologue start to chime in, try changing your words to those you would use with a friend who is having a problem. Be compassionate and encouraging, treat yourself with kindness.

Look At The Evidence. When you start to hear your inner critic tell you what you can’t do, ask yourself, how do you know? What evidence do you have to support that negative assessment? What evidence can you offer to refute those negative claims?

Don’t Live In The Past. You need to let go of past mistakes. When you mess up, accept that it happened, then move on. Reminding yourself repeatedly of how and when you screwed up is only fueling negativity and self-abuse and prevents you from making better choices moving forward.

Consider The Worst-Case Scenario. Your inner critic is probably very good at turning a possible negative outcome into a potential catastrophe. This causes you to feel more anxious than is necessary, leading to doubt and feelings of worthlessness. Stop and consider, what if that worst-case scenario actually did occur? Would it really be all that bad? In most cases, not really.

That inner critic can often have the loudest voice in the room, but don’t be afraid to keep pressing the mute button on him or her. You can be kinder and gentler to yourself while still focusing on ways to improve specific aspects of your life that don’t bring you joy.

4 Steps Psychologists Say to Overcome Your Fear of Trying New ThingsThere’s something intimidating about the concept of trying something new. Frequently, we hold ourselves back from accomplishing great things because of this fear. Instead, let’s look to the experts – psychologists – for some tips on how to get comfortable with trying new things.

1. Tell Yourself it’s Okay

The brain relies heavily on association, so if you pile a bunch of negative associations on top of something (like trying something new), you’ll never come around to the idea of it. Start by telling yourself it’s completely normal to fear it. There’s no good in beating yourself up about your apprehensions!

2. Get Rid of the Spotlight Effect

If you’ve never heard of the spotlight effect, it’s the inclination to believe that people are watching you closely when in reality, no one really is. We tend to experience the spotlight effect when we’re doing something vulnerable or new because, in our minds, it feels like the world is watching. In times like this, it’s a good idea to remind yourself that most people are concerned with themselves and not your performance on something new. In other words, stop worrying about what others think and start thinking about the benefits that could come from giving something a try.

3. Mindset Over Everything Else

You could huff and puff and try out all kinds of different things, but if you’re not going into it with a positive mindset, you probably won’t end up with a positive outcome. Get your mind in the right headspace. That begins with optimism, acceptance of the things you cannot control, and an overall understanding that things may not be perfect, but they are worth it in the long run.

4. Preparation is Key

We’d all love to think that we can try something out and be an instant expert, but it doesn’t usually work that way. If you’re trying something new, you’ll probably have some growing pains at first. When it doesn’t come naturally, don’t back down. Instead, tune into what you should be doing ahead of time to get ready for these new adventures. Preparation will be your friend here.

When it comes to the mind, psychologists know best. Whatever it is you’re trying out, your mind is the focal point here. Without tapping into your mind’s needs, you won’t get a lot of enjoyment out of your adventure. Good luck, and keep up the excellent work!
