The pieces keep moving on the chessboard of Coro. In the Marian City, chess is having a very positive awakening and proof of this are the tournaments that have been taking place with relative frequency in the State.
In this post I share with you the recently initiated "II UR SUB 20 Chess League", an event sequel to the first edition which was successfully carried out and now repeats with a greater participation.
As for the technical details, this tournament is aimed at chess players 20 years old or younger and who do not have an international rating or FIDE Elo, hence the term UR (unrated). The thinking time in this opportunity was 15 minutes without increment for each player, being this a fast pace. Each chess player has to manage his clock as well as possible to avoid falling into unwanted predicaments. 7 rounds were played resulting in 112 games played at the end of the day's competition.

Greetings again to the sports community. Today I share with you one of my most recent experiences. On May 11 and 12 the Venezuelan Retired Zonal Qualifying Games were taking place in the city of Coro, an event to which I was invited to provide support with the Chess Brothers chess club.
It was incredible to see how a large number of retirees passionate about sports from the states of Zulia, Lara and Falcon (the latter as host) gathered to celebrate this championship that has become a tradition.
The disciplines developed in these games were: chess, bolas criollas, softball, table tennis and olympic walking. It was quite an example to see how people over 60 years old performed each of these sports in great conditions, which demonstrates the true power of a healthy body and a healthy mind.
As hosts of the event, the Falcon retirees demonstrated a great level in each of the disciplines. I was pleased to have had the opportunity to speak with some of those involved in the development of these zonal games such as Professor William Crespo Telleria Gloria deportiva de Venezuela and active athlete of the national team of retirees of Venezuela, sub sede Falcón, as well as with its president Haroldo Zabala and event coordinator Wilmer Lopez, who gave us more details about how the games were developed in the video.

For those who follow the sport science with more or less certain regularity will know that this discipline requires great concentration so it may sound a little strange if we place the game context in such a "scandalous" place with a shopping mall. The truth is that yes, there seems to be some contradiction in placing a board in the middle of a mall but this has an interesting justification.
Due to the nature of this millenary game, the venues should be as quiet as possible, but here is a small (huge) disadvantage. It turns out that for a maximum diffusion of the discipline it is necessary that "the pieces and the board" are in view of the greatest possible public. Of course, recreational and leisure activities are ideal for this purpose.
Squares, streets, avenues, are excellent places to carry out chess massification initiatives because the impact that this generates is total. Following this idea of positioning chess in a scenario with numerous spectators, this initiative that we can see in the title of the text arises.
To tell you the truth, the interaction we have had throughout this couple of months has been great. Since the first day we started attending the Coro Mall we have been able to notice that interest in people which awakens when they see the chess sets displayed. People of all ages have stopped by our booths and played a few games.
Something that has caught our attention is the way they treat all the mall staff, especially the department store workers. For example, staff from Multimax Store, Mundo Total, the food fair and Traki, tell us that playing chess is like a therapy during their rest hours and has helped them to return with more strength to their work routines.
I feel very happy to continue growing in this beautiful sport and even more that the discipline has had a great reception from new fans.
This is the beginning of new initiatives and I am sure the best is yet to come. We are currently attending on Saturday afternoons and the intention is to continue promoting the presence of chess. To do this, we do various activities such as playing, giving "micro-classes" advising those who are starting and even playing blindfold games.

Chess is an incredible sport in every sense. This discipline allows two contestants of different ages to play that "Mental Warfare". Taking advantage of this valuable virtue of the sport of science, tournaments can be held in which, for example, children of 9 years old (or younger) face highly experienced players of a higher age.
Precisely this age gap is what allows the new rising generations to increase their level of play because in sport is necessary that "progressive overload", ie, the younger ones to face adult chess players will gradually acquire more skills and blanks in the face of their training.
In our club we like to promote this type of tournaments because we firmly believe that it is a way to promote the sport.
This Saturday, April 29th we had an interesting encounter that illustrates all of the above. It was a very competitive tournament that brought together different players from the State including the Adicora, La vela and Chess Btothers Clubs.
It is interesting to mention that new chess players made their debut in this encounter and began to familiarize themselves with the challenging atmosphere that the 64-square board offers.

The fight for the world chess crown continues in Astana. Ding and Nepo are having a super exciting fight because the great majority of the games have had a winning result, this is certainly admirable in a world championship because if we compare it with previous championships, draws were very frequent.
Round 10 is about to take place and the score is 4 to 5 in favor of the Russian Nepomniashchi. There have been some very tense moments in which the Chinese Ding liren has had tremendous chances to come back and we hope that today will not be the exception.
Once again my partner Monoica Navarro joins me in this live transition to analyze the current situation of the match and provide genuine analysis of the games and chess in general.
A small glimpse of the repertoireThe theoretical preparation of these two titans has been incredible. We have seen several lines of openings quite prepared by both contenders. It is very curious to see that despite this solidity in the chosen openings, there have been good chances of unbalance for each player, that is, the contenders for the world title are playing to win, it is a war without quarter.
As a curious fact, Ding has become the first player in history to play a London System in a world championship. It is even funny because this opening despite being so popular had never been used in these matches and Ding breaks that paradigm and with a formidable result of victory in round 6.

In today's game, Ding surprises again with a not so conventional opening, but with some very interesting ideas. Despite taking his pawn structure to a not so favorable formation in a static way, he creates dynamic line openings so that his pieces can circulate more freely, something that Nepo must take into account and propose a solid strategy to avoid falling into disadvantage.

Greetings again to all the members of the Full Deportes community!
Today I want to share my training experience in the last two months with players Fernando Zuleta and Fernando Castro, two strong players from Falcon State. These indefinite matches have been very important for my preparation for the upcoming international games that I plan to attend.
It is essential to point out that like any other sport, chess needs perseverance and practice. In these training games, the aim is to simulate a tournament situation in which the chess player's skills are tested in order to be able to attend the fundamental competition in the best possible conditions.
In more technical terms I can say that I am learning to face different openings and to explore new lines of play. The idea is of course to improve my chess technique and enhance my analytical skills.
Each game has been a valuable opportunity to improve. At the end of a match, we immediately analyze and review each move. Critical analysis plays a fundamental role as it is what will guarantee the reduction of errors in future games.
Against Castro, I have played two games and currently have an advantage of 1.5 to 0.5. He has been a very solid opponent with a very cool and calm defensive character. Against Zuleta, I have played four games and currently the score is 2.5 to 1.5 in my favor. Zuleta is a more aggressive player, and I have learned a lot from his style of play. Their initiative game is quite interesting and I am learning to defend better against them.
This position was the result of the second game against Zuleta in which I had the black pieces.
Black is a pawn down but the active is tremendous. The control of the "D" column is total and this allows Black's pieces to infiltrate very easily. It is an important moment of the game but to take advantage was not an easy task because the most promising move was a queen retreat, which in practice is very difficult to do. I played Rook d5 applying pressure to the black position but the maneuver Queen to d5 guaranteed a more decisive initiative as the queen starts to hit the king's position.
The game ended in a draw a few moves later.
This position arose in the first game against Castro in which I led the white pieces.
It is a very acute situation. We have opposite castling pieces on the board and the priority is to attack the opposing king. At this moment I missed a good opportunity to get the advantage. The move Bxe6 wins a pawn and leaves Black with a permanent weakness. However, I didn't want to play this variation because I mistakenly thought that keeping the pieces on Black's king would give me better results, which was not the case because Castro played an impeccable defense. The game ended in a draw after a hard fight.
In the video I go a little deeper into the games.
Thank you very much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the content. We will continue with the training to improve the level of play and thus be able to represent the country with a strong technical level.
Greetings again to all the sports community and chess fans!
Today I share with you a live broadcast I did with my friend and national chess expert, Monica Navarro. Together we commented on round number 6 of the World Chess Championship, which is taking place between China's Ding Liren and Russia's Ian Nepomniachtchi in Kazakhstan.
The match is very even and of course, there have been phenomenal games. Nepo is leading 3-2, but in today's round, Ding, who is playing White, will be looking for a win to keep the score level. Who will win?
During the broadcast, Monica and I analyze the moves and strategies of both players. On the virtual board we examined their moves and thought about possible variations. We also shared some anecdotes about chess in general and the previous world championships.
It was quite an intense day in which we had to get up a little early to watch the game live because each match starts at 5 am Venezuela time. But it was worth it to watch such an important match.
The championship continues and we will remain attentive to see how the fight for the world crown evolves.
All the information of this world championship can be found on the chess.com website.

Hello again to all the sports community. Today I want to share my recent experience in Adicora, a beautiful coastal town in Venezuela in Falcon State. My initial intention was to spend the day at the beach and enjoy the sun and sand, but my plan changed completely when I discovered the local chess club and joined them to spend the day playing and learning.
I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised by the state of Adicora in general. The town has received a good investment and it shows in the street frontage and the houses that look phenomenal. The boulevard is spectacular, with a variety of stores and restaurants that offer a great experience for visitors.
But what really amazed me was the talent and passion of the young chess players in the Adicora club. It was incredible to play with them and see how they master the game with skill and advanced strategy.
It is worth mentioning the incredible work done by coaches Geremmy Gonzalez and Elvis Urbina who have been in charge for almost a year of guiding the children in their sporting journey. Both instructors have motor and hearing disabilities respectively, but this has not been an impediment to raise the competitive level of the players.
Throughout the day we were talking about interesting future projects as well as new ideas to try to boost the image of the club. They were very kind to me which made my experience more enjoyable.
The chess exchange we had during the day was just great. I learned a lot from the players and they also learned from me. It was a real cultural exchange where chess was the common language. The atmosphere was very nice and we really spent hours and hours filled with a lot of allergy and fun.
Soon I will be attending once again to the club facilities and continue sharing knowledge and experiences. I hope you enjoy the conversation I had with the club president Roberto Medina. Best regards and see you next time.

Another great day in the Hive Chess Tournament, This Friday as usual we had a very interesting contest organized by our friend @stayouoftherz.
My performance in this third round was not so outstanding but I think there were a couple of games that saved the day. I finished in the 7th position and I am still in the fight for the first places. We will see what happens next week

Today as usual we had the friday tournament at Hive. The second round of the new season was played. Unfortunately I couldn't keep up the same run as last week and I think I wasn't in very good shape for this Swiss tournament. However I finished in position number 5 and in the last round I was able to beat the winner of the tournament, maybe not in the way I wanted but this is blitz :). It was a somewhat irregular tournament for me but the outcome was quite funny.
I hope you enjoy the video and see you next time.

The Hive Chess Tournament is back for its 15th season. Today we had a lot of action on the board. I've been a bit disconnected from Hive but I always try to play some chess. In fact, if you have been following my blog you may have noticed that I was in the beautiful city of Belgrade in Serbia playing the chess paralympics for people with disabilities. Here are those posts in case you want to take a look at them.

Well, today I did quite well in the Friday tournament. I was able to win all the games but that wasn't enough xd. The arena tournament forces you to use Bersek if you want to win but as I was playing and commenting at the same time I didn't want to risk so much and so I could keep a good quality of the games.
The games were quite interesting and I hope you enjoyed them.
I will be sharing more in depth analysis of my games in the near future. See you next time.

As you can see from the spoilers in the title, I met several personalities on this adventure and, of course, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to share these anecdotes here on Hive.
If you're curious to learn a little more about this trip, I'll leave you two posts where I talked about sports and tourism respectively:
My experience at the First Chess Paralympics held in Belgrade-Serbia (ES-EN)
Discovering Kalemegdan, the most important fortress in all of Serbia (ES-EN) SUB
Now, without further ado, let's get started!
Meeting with Mrs. Venezuela
As I mentioned in a previous post, getting to Belgrade from Venezuela is quite an odyssey, mainly because of layovers. The most common and traveled stop is precisely at Istanbul Turkey Airport. This airport is truly a masterpiece of engineering in every sense, it's too colossal. When we arrived in Istanbul, we immediately had to look for the boarding gate for the next flight. Time was very limited, so we were running against the clock, not to mention that these layovers are extremely tedious. In the midst of this stress, we ran into Miss Venezuela Esther Suppa, who curiously was on the same flight as us. She was heading to Bulgaria for an important Beauty contest. We politely asked her for a photo, and she accepted with a big smile. The time was very brief, so there were few words we could exchange, but we were very proud to know that, like us, Venezuela would be present at a world competition.
My stay at the Crowne Place Hotel (*)
The development of our activities upon arriving in Belgrade revolved around this luxurious hotel. We stayed here, played in the Paralympics, and spent most of our stay here. The Crowne Place is a 5-star hotel, and truly its construction, decoration, and every detail is perfectly achieved. It is located in the city center, close to tourist attractions such as Republic Square and the National Theater. This hotel has hosted important events and has hosted famous people from all over the world. I was surprised to see this mural where the images of each of those personalities who have been to this hotel are displayed.
The surroundings of the Hotel
As I mentioned above, the hotel is located in a fairly central area, so it is very easy to get to the main tourist attractions of the city. However, since our stay coincided with winter, it was a bit difficult for us to move around the area. Still, from time to time, we took a small tour around the hotel, and I honestly found it to be a quite beautiful place.
Meeting with the Igokea Basketball Team
One of those moments when we were in the hotel lobby getting ready to leave, we suddenly saw a basketball team settling in the facilities. And yes, Serbia is a country famous for its performance in basketball and for being the host of prestigious leagues. On that occasion, we came across the great team of Igokea, which originates from Bosnia and has a competitive tradition that began in 1973.Of course, we took the opportunity and chatted with the team and shared a few, albeit brief, productive moments.
Met the Voice Actor of Plankton
To give you a little more context, the same day we met the Igokea team was our last day in the city, and we were waiting for the Venezuelan ambassador to Serbia, Dimas Alvarenga (whom we talked about in a previous article), who was going to accompany us on a tour of Kalemegdan. When he arrived, he came with a friend who works with him at the embassy.Little by little, this gentleman was telling us about the city and each of the imposing buildings we passed on our car tour. When we finally arrived at the fortress, we continued talking, and he told us that he is the voice actor for well-known animated characters like Wolverine, Green Lantern, Plankton, among others. We were fascinated and in shock at the same time haha. Immediately, I asked him for a demonstration, and indeed, "He is Plankton" lol. I never imagined that on this trip, I would meet Oscar Zuloaga, the voice of Plankton. The video shows this moment.
Meeting with the Rescuers
The day to return home had arrived, and we had to say goodbye to this beautiful city. Our flight was in the evening. We left the suitcases ready and went for a last walk around the surroundings with the team. Upon returning to the hotel, we learned that a catastrophe had occurred in Turkey due to an earthquake. As it was a disaster of such magnitude, it was possible that our flight would be affected because we had to make a stopover in Istanbul. We contacted the airline, and everything indicated that the flight would take off as planned. We arrived at the airport and prepared for boarding. Coincidentally, on the same flight as us, there was also a group of Serbian rescuers going to provide support in Turkey. The atmosphere we experienced at that moment was incredible. The anonymous heroes were applauded and cheered in such a way that an extremely emotional scene was created, where the great human quality is evident.

Greetings to the whole community!
This is my first entry in ESPAVLOG. I have been wanting to share content in this space for some time, and today I finally bring you an extremely interesting post.
Today, I want to share my experience at Kalemegdan in Belgrade. This is a beautiful place full of history, where you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the city and learn a little more about Serbian culture and heritage.
Kalemegdan in a nutshellKalemegdan is an ancient castle located on top of a hill in the city of Belgrade. Its name means "fortress on the hill" and is considered one of the most emblematic places in the city and I would dare to say that it is one of the most important destinations in all of Europe.
Upon arriving at the site, it is possible to admire the enormous stone walls and fortifications that have been preserved since medieval times. In fact, at the entrance to the park, you will find a room where stories from the Middle Ages are told.
The place in its entirety is perfect for taking a walk, relaxing, or having a picnic. The park has a large number of trees and flowers, as well as several historical statues and monuments.
A dream for architectsIf you like architecture, you can't miss the Clock Tower and the Stambol Gate, which are two iconic structures of the castle. From the Clock Tower, you can get an impressive panoramic view of Belgrade, and the Stambol Gate is a perfect place to take a photo.
The confluence of two riversThe place where the Danube and Sava rivers meet is one of the highlights of the visit to Kalemegdan in Belgrade. From there, you can enjoy a spectacular and unique view of both rivers and the city in general.
The confluence of the Danube and the Sava is an impressive natural phenomenon, as they are two of the most important rivers in Europe.
The Danube is one of the longest rivers in Europe, with a length of more than 2,800 kilometers. The Sava, on the other hand, is one of the main tributaries of the Danube and is especially important for Serbia, as it crosses a large part of the country.
At the confluence of both rivers, their different characteristics can be clearly observed. The Danube is a wider and calmer river, with a more constant water flow. The Sava, on the other hand, is a narrower and faster river, with a more variable water flow. When they join, both rivers form an impressive natural spectacle.
The Orthodox doctrine
The Orthodox doctrine has significantly influenced the culture and history of Serbia, making these churches especially important. Each one has its own story. From the Ruzica Church built in an old armory, to the impressive interior decoration and bell tower of the Church of the Ascension.¡Saludos a toda la comunidad!
Typical drinks
Kalemegdan is an ideal place to enjoy a variety of typical Serbian drinks. Among the options are Rakija, a strong alcoholic drink made from fruit distillation, local wine such as Vranac and Prokupac, and beer, including the popular brand Jelen. You can also refresh yourself with lemonade and enjoy Turkish coffee, espresso, or cappuccino at various bars and cafes. The Military Museum
The military museum is an opportunity to learn about the role that Serbia has played in the region's and the world's military conflicts. Guided tours in several languages are available to delve deeper into the country's and the Balkans' military history.
In this venue, you can see ancient military weapons and uniforms, as well as enjoy temporary exhibitions and educational activities for all ages. The building that houses the museum is also an architectural gem worth visiting for its historical and cultural value.
Concluding thoughts
Truly, visiting this beautiful park was an extremely rewarding experience. Unfortunately, my stay in Serbia was very short, but I hope to return in the future and continue exploring the mythical lands of Belgrade. In the video, I share some footage of the tour and complement the information in this post.Let me know in the comments what you think of this tourist destination. Thanks for stopping by, and see you in the next post.

Some time ago I wanted to share here in the Geek Zone community a very interesting section related to the chairs I use in my daily life and how has been the experience in different purchases I've made over the years.
Taking advantage of the fact that I bought a new executive chair for a new project I'm developing with @sawko, we decided to talk, analyze and compare the most recent acquisition with our productivity chairs. More than an unboxing we want to delve into the style of each of these products, their benefits, disadvantages, quality / price and of course, a very sincere synthesis of whether it is really worth investing in this section.
Everything discussed in this post and video is part of our experience so you may or may not agree with what is presented. In any case we would like to see in the comments your opinion on this topic and which models you have had the opportunity to test.
Okay, today we are going to talk about three models of chairs. It is more than obvious that to ensure good productivity we must be as comfortable as possible in our workstation, but often this factor is used to exploit a more commercial and aesthetic side which in most cases becomes a coin swallowing machine and our "aspirations" to get something that is supposed to be useful ends up being meaningless.
Let's remember that a chair is one more element of our whole setup, so if our budget is quite limited we should not be engrossed in spending it all on a luxury seat because at the end of the day it will not make us better or worse content creators, remote workers, etc.
A couple of years ago I decided to upgrade my modest seat to one that was a little more comfortable and could easily fit into my workstation. There are so many variables to consider when shopping online that it is often better to go directly to the store and try the product ourselves to see if it fits or not.
I have to say that I am quite tall and perhaps the conventional measures of chairs and tables are not so comfortable for me so my setup is not comfortable for everyone and it is precisely this point that we must pay attention to the maximum, not everyone has the same measures so it is absurd to think of the ideal dimensions. We must try and experiment with different items and choose the most suitable with due wisdom.
The three modelsModel unknownI bought this first model in a physical store. I remember I was walking around quite a bit and couldn't find anything I liked. I went to stores specializing in office supplies but could not get something that suited my needs. After several days and about to throw in the towel I found one of those stores that never would have occurred to me that I would buy something like this. But sure enough, I found this chair that I have no idea what brand it is lol but it has a pretty solid construction and its comfort is very good in my opinion.
It is not a very luxurious seat compared to others and perhaps the armrests are very stiff but with 2 years of use I have no complaints so critical and I can certify that it was a good buy. If I have to say that at the time of payment I found it a bit high ($175), but it has also been preserved that if it was worth that investment.
Presidential Ergonomic Gaming Racing ChairThis other model was purchased by my brother @sawko on free market. Yes, he didn't pre-test it but he did a lot of research and read a lot of referendums. It is clearly a gamer chair and aesthetically looks nicer than the previous one. However, in the words of sawko, the chair presented problems in the assembly because the materials are not of such good quality, if it is comfortable but with less than a year of use the seat shows considerable deterioration. My brother tells you more about this experience in detail in the video. The price was about 160$.
Madison Pcnolimit Mx Executive ChairWe will soon be opening a chess room and of course, we need some good chairs. We decided to take a little risk and buy it online again. Just a single copy to test the quality and all that. To our surprise the Madison Pcnolimit Mx turned out to be incredibly good. It is the cheapest and the smallest on this list but we really liked this model.
The cost was $60 which is well invested in the construction and sturdiness of the item. It is compact but does the job. The armrests can be moved and this gives it an interesting touch. We will go into more detail about the experience with this chair in the video.
Thank you very much for reading and watching the video, I hope our experience will be useful in your search and that you can make a smart purchase. In the comments you can let us know which chairs you use and which models you are thinking of acquiring. Best regards and see you next time.

Greetings dear hivers and chess lovers. A pleasure to greet you to share with you my first post of the year. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I wish you for this 2023 many successes and blessings, wishing that your proposed goals and objectives can be achieved. Today I bring you my participation in the traditional Saturday tournament organized by @schamangerbert, the "Super Crypto Chess League" an event that takes place weekly and this Saturday November 7 was not the reception. I had not participated for a long time due to scheduling issues but taking advantage of these days "decongested" I wanted to measure myself a little in the combat arena.
The interesting thing was the mode. We did not play the standard chess variant but rather the "960" mode, a version that I have already talked about a few times but to summarize, it is a chess in which the starting position is not the typical one we know. The starting point is drawn among 960 possibilities which adds a rather strong chaotic touch to the game as the study of traditional openings becomes totally obsolete.
In the tournament we had several hivers who started their year playing at a good level. As for my performance, let's say that it was somewhat irregular because I had a somewhat weak start and there were games that I could not finish off in a good way. However, at the end of the day I was left with a solid third place which, to tell the truth, is not bad at all. We are starting the year and I hope to continue improving my technique.
Despite having committed many impressions, I had good tactical moments like the game against @stayoutoftherz in which I had the black pieces and this nice combination was produced:
stayoutoftherz vs vjap55
It is Black's turn. A couple of moves ago I had the idea of sacrificing a pair of bishops in White's castling and indeed that is the plan to follow. White tried to prevent that idea by attacking the rook on h6 but in reality the threats cannot be stopped and the pieces end up wreaking havoc on Black's monarch. It is a good exercise for calculation, I invite you to see the exact continuation.
vjap55 vs FCastro17
Of course, not everything is rosy. Against @fcastro177 I played a very interesting game, with many attacking themes in the middlegame. We got to this endgame in which theoretically it should be a draw but with little time on the clock I couldn't be precise enough and Black ended up taking the win. From a practical point of view it is more comfortable to play with the extra pawns even though the knight is weaker than the rook because the chances of promotion are clearly favorable for black.
Anyway, the contest was quite good, more than an hour and a half with complicated games. It was a great start. Thank you very much for reading and watching the video. A big hug and see you next time.

Hello hivers, how is everything going?
Today we had an interesting tournament this Friday. I really did quite well, I only lost one game and in general I think the level of the players is quite good. I think this will be the last chess video for this year. I hope you all are having happy holidays and that for this 2023 you can continue to improve your chess. See you in the next time!

I've been wanting to compose a new riff for days. With so many day to day things I always delayed that moment of inspiration and producing music takes time especially if we want to make something that sounds great. After a long drought this Friday afternoon I finally decided to turn on my modest home-studio and started combining chords in fifth.
As you may know rock is one of my favorite genres. What I like the most are the dynamic riffs that just by hearing them a couple of times they get stuck in your head and you can't stop humming them for a long time. So that's what I decided to do, a good rock riff.
But this time I wanted to record a little bit of the creation process and how the ideas combined to generate the final product. For those who have followed my blog, you have already seen in previous posts that my approach is "minimalist", that is, I like to transmit the music without doing much "refining" process, almost fresh out of the oven.
Of course, the process I share with you is pure production and some post-production, but if I'm honest I love that "raw" unmixed sound, although I understand that many will not share these tastes.
The setup I use for the guitar is basically a crunch distortion combined with an impulse box, all VSTs of course. For the lead guitar we copied the same arrangement and added a little bit of rever and delay to give the whole thing more epicness. The drums are also achieved with a VST and the resulting loop is the product of playing with several pre-sets that come by default.
In the video I explain the step and finally I make an improvisation on the created base. I hope you like it, I'm really excited to produce the music I like the most. Let me know in the comments what you think and what recommendations you have to keep improving. Best regards and see you next time.

Greetings to the most technological community of Hive. Today after a rather long break I return to the publication of content in this Geek space.
In previous publications I have shared the analysis and review of different devices that I have acquired for content production. These devices are oriented to improve audio and video quality. For obvious reasons this type of hardware (microphones, sound cards, screens, cameras) have a price that sometimes escapes from our hands being the market prices a highly determining factor at the time of purchase.
However, nowadays with all the development that has taken place with web applications, new alternatives have emerged to provide us with more accessible and even free solutions. In this post we are going to address precisely what many of us are looking for: good, nice and free.
More specifically, in today's post I will share with you a totally free tool that will help us to improve our audios. That is, it will make our recordings sound with a tremendous quality.
A few months ago I shared with you the review of one of the cheapest microphones on the market and has a pretty good sound quality. However this device is limited to be used in a studio or room with minimal acoustic conditions. Something that is relatively reasonable. But, if our intention is to obtain more versatility such as recording outdoors and any other type of environment the options become a little more complicated.
The "magic" offered by the tool I am going to show you applies to any type of device regardless of the place where we are or the noise (or noises) that are present in the surroundings.
In my constant quest to improve the audio I had been reading about various techniques but the other day I came across an incredibly good one. Of course, at first I was a bit suspicious because it seemed "too good to be true". I decided to give it a try and the results have been phenomenal.
The tool in question is "Adobe Podcast" a totally free web service that gives you the opportunity to convert an "ugly" recording into a file that has nothing to envy to the recordings made by a studio microphone.

You must take into account that the maximum size of your track must be 1GB or 1 hour long in MP3 or WAV format. With these specifications we are more than enough.
The process may take more or less time depending on your file size, PC resources, etc. But I can tell you that I have used this feature a lot and the process is quite fast.
In the video I explain how to use this web application and of course I show you the before and after.

After a rather long pause in the publication of content within the community which was the result of technical problems related to my internet provider, I resume again the rhythm and today I bring you a very thorough analysis of three games played in a recent chess championship held in the State of Zulia.
Unlike other tournaments to which I have given coverage on the platform, this time my focus was more competitive so I could not conduct interviews with participants and organizers of the event. Of course, having the mind divided between reporting and competition is a somewhat cumbersome task so I decided to focus purely on the games.
This tournament was held from September 24 to 25 as part of the celebration of the anniversary of the Zulia State Association. It was a very well organized event which had incredible conditions in terms of logistics. The competition was held at the facilities of the Sports Village, which also served as a venue for the chess players.
As for the technical part, we had 3 categories divided by rating: Under-1800, Under-2000 and the "VIP" category. I was participating in the U-2000 category and I can say that the new generation of chess players is coming with everything. Very young players were present and showed an extremely high competitive level.
We played a 7-round Swiss system with a classical rhythm but a bit "unconventional" because the time control used was 30+30 something that pink the "active" mode and limits the duration of the games but without losing the opportunity to deepen with a fairly good level of reflection.
The games were very disputed and at the end of the contest I was able to win the tournament with a score of 6 points out of 7 possible (two draws). It should be noted that endurance was a key factor since 7 classical rounds in two days is very demanding. On the first day we played 4 rounds and the next day the remaining 3. For those who play chess will know that it is a titanic effort.
In the video that accompanies this text I make a compilation of the key games I played and of course I analyze the most critical variations of each one. This was an experience that left me a total learning experience in which I discovered new lines and I could refresh those variations that I used to play when I was younger.

In the training of an athlete one of the most important aspects and which in turn is one of the most neglected, is the correct physiotherapeutic treatment. With the constant practice and execution of intense training routines, muscles tend to accumulate tension and in several cases this can be harmful if not properly unloaded as it can trigger a greater evil as an injury which is certainly an undesirable situation.
This is why going to the physiotherapist is highly recommended as the athlete has the opportunity to prevent injuries. Unfortunately, most athletes go to the office when the damage is already done and must resort to more radical solutions which could be avoided with proper control.
We take the opportunity to share this post in which we talk about our experience in an unloading session which was carried out by our friend Fredy Gutierrez specialist in the area of physiotherapy and founder of the brand "Fisio Elite" which focuses on the care of high performance athletes.
In the interview Fredy tells us that going to the physiotherapist should become a routine in order to strengthen the culture of prevention, likewise, having an unloading more often can greatly improve athletic performance regardless of the discipline practiced: crossfit, calisthenics, functional training, running, etc...
@Sawko and I opted for the "full body unloading" plan which lasted about 2 hours. It was a long day as all muscle groups were taken care of.
As for the instruments used we can mention:
-Percussion gun
-Cupping
-Roller stick
-Foam rollerThis discharge was distributed as follows:
We started with Thermotherapy (applying heat for therapeutic purposes) on the back area for about 20 minutes. This is intended to relax the muscles, vasodilatation, etc.
Then we proceeded with the unloading massage, the objective of which is to reduce muscle contractures. The duration of this section was about 30 minutes.
After the first hour of the session, the specialist proceeded to apply a massage with the percussion gun, which helps us to further reduce these muscle contractions. This procedure will depend on the athlete's needs because it may be applied more or less power / time on the equipment, in our case 5 minutes were enough.
Then, the Roller stick was applied for about 5 minutes for a deeper work at a muscular level.
Finally, we used the foam roller to specifically work the muscle groups such as: back, gluteus, inquisitorial, quadriceps, abductors. This work was prolonged for approximately 25-30 minutes. The unloading was concluded with varied stretching.
It was a very rewarding experience in which the muscles released a great tension. At the end of the download the sensations are incredible and we hope that this article will be useful for you to make the right decision to attend a physical therapist and thus prevent injuries in their workouts.
Thank you so much for making it to the end of this post. I would really like you to share your experience of this interesting topic in the comments. Best regards and see you next time.

Chess tournaments continue to be held in Falcón. On this occasion the city of Punto Fijo was the venue of the First "OLD SCHOOL Paraguana 2022" Quick Tournament, an event organized and supported by the players of the State.
The Ramón Ruiz Polanco Library was the venue where 44 chess players gathered on September 10 to spend a day full of chess. It is worth mentioning that this library has been another space gained where the sport of science is being practiced and has served to integrate new players to the chess community.
The technical conditions of the tournament were quite interesting with 7 rounds played with a thinking time of 10 minutes plus 5 seconds increment per player. A rhythm that gives the chess player enough time to produce a high quality game.
In the playing hall we were able to witness the clash of the "old school" (hence the name of the tournament) with the new prospects of the State who day by day increase their level.
This type of activity is vital for the development of the sport of science because the most experienced players can transmit their knowledge to the younger ones.
The main arbiter of the tournament was Ramón Romero who was in charge of calculating the pairings through the "Swiss Managger" program. Arcenio Acacio (President of the Falcon State Chess Association) was in charge of the arbitration at the tables together with Yeniret Morillo.
Important figures were present to support the event: Fidel Gonzalez (former president of the Venezuelan Chess Federation) participated as a player and also provided logistical support in terms of hydration and food for the athletes. Also, Reinaldo Chirinos (President of TRANSFALCON) made the necessary arrangements to transport the players from the city of Coro and the Municipality of Colina to Paraguana with their respective return.
As for the organization and sponsorship of the tournament, the state selection players Jesús Guiñan and Anthony Segovia took the initiative for the activity to go ahead. This is a clear example to follow because both players, having a very marked trajectory in chess, understand what a player needs for his growth and that is why they wanted to promote this kind of activities for the development of the new generations. In the interview Guiñan tells us a little more in detail about how this process has been.
Of course, after the day's competition a winner had to be named. Orlan Zavala who won undefeated The Labor Games consolidates again the first place. With 6 units he masterfully imposed himself in the active tournament followed by the 16 year old Luciano Sanchez (@lucianosky) who reached the same mark as Zavala but by the tiebreaker system takes the runner-up position. Close behind Oniel Revilla (@eniolw) with 5.5 points took third place ratifying his presence among the best in the state.
The results of the event can be found at this link

We are very happy to see how the new generations are taking their course and how the level of play is increasing enormously. In the interview with Luciano he tells us that he is training hard to attend the U20 National Championship in which he hopes to play good games against the best athletes in the country and that this active tournament has helped him to warm up for this commitment.
Thank you very much for reaching the end of this post. It is an honor for me to share the most recent sports events related to chess. In the comments you can share your impressions of this tournament and tell me what you think of the transition from player to event organizer.
Best regards and until next time...!

Chess activities continue in Falcon State. In the last few weeks the discipline has been quite active and the celebration of tournaments is increasing steadily. One of the championships that stood out greatly due to the massive participation was the recently concluded "Labor Games" in which more than 30 institutions belonging to the public and private sector came together to participate in the sporting display.
Chess was of course present. The science sport party took place at FUNDEFAL's facilities from September 5 to 9. It is very important to highlight that a peak number of 82 players was reached in the absolute and 22 in the female, numbers that show that the science sport is more alive than ever.
As for the technical details of this great event, the 3 most representative chess modalities were played: Classic, active and blitz, which meant a really intense marathon that pushed the players to the limit. Juan Telleria, whom we had the opportunity to interview, was in charge of refereeing the tournament, Fernando Zuleta was providing support as table prosecutor and Esmirna María Fernanda Ruiz refereed the women's tournament.
It was a hard week of play in which we saw some hard fought games. Of course, endurance was a very important factor in this tournament as each player completed a total of 21 games. In the classic the time control used was 75 minutes, in the active 10 minutes and in the blitz 5 minutes, each of the tournaments were played to 7 rounds finish (no increment per move).
As for the results, the absolute championship was commanded by the experienced player Orlan Zavala who from the first day of competition showed a level of play quite incisive giving him the victory in most of his games. Zavala took the Gold in the classic and Blitz modalities while Fidel Gonzalez (Ex-president of the Venezuelan Chess Federation) took the first place in the active modality. On the other hand, Reimar Bracho, who has been selected by the state on multiple occasions, took the top honors in the women's championship, energetically leading the 3 modalities.
At the end of this post you can see the detailed results of each modality which were provided by the organization of the event.
We took the opportunity to attend the game room and talk with the competitors. Of course we were very happy to see such a massive participation. Several generations of chess players were present, which meant a sharing that goes beyond the competition. It was like a family meeting.
Each of the players we interviewed shared with us very interesting impressions of how they see chess now that they are in a work environment in which they have acquired new responsibilities and that for reasons of time competitive chess has become a little more secondary but the game will always be there and in one way or another they find a way to return to the board.
We hope that you like this report and that it serves to continue spreading all the work that is being done in favor of chess. I would like you to leave in the comments section your impressions of this event and what you think of the transition of the athlete to the work/professional level.Best regards and see you next time.

The national chess continues moving actively. Every day we see that the calendar of activities increases the number of tournaments held in Venezuela.
One of the cities where most chess is played is Caracas, home of very strong players who are in constant competition. With the intention of continuing to increase the level of play and the rating in general, the Chess Association of the Capital District in conjunction with private companies sympathetic to the sport of science are organizing tournaments valid for the international rating (IRT).
On August 23, the second "IRT Representaciones GUS" tournament was held, which is part of a series of events whose objective is to encourage the participation of chess players and increase their Elo. Also, by the end of this year, athletes who have had an outstanding performance will be able to participate in tournaments valid for international titles or better known as ITT tournaments.
For the last quarter of this 2022, 2 tournaments of this nature are already outlined in which soon the flags of countries such as Colombia, Zurinan, etc. will be confirmed. This represents a great opportunity for the players because thanks to this type of initiatives they can obtain international titles without the need to leave the country.
About the IRT GUS Representations TournamentThis tournament was held from August 23 to 27 under the modality "Round-robin" (all against all). 8 players were present in the contest so that 7 rounds were played at a classic 90+30 pace. The tournament was refereed by José Luis Guilarte, International Arbitrator. Something very important to highlight is that the organization of the event made known the list and pairings well in advance so that each player could prepare his game.
Let's remember that nowadays chess has a gigantic computer support and this allows to have available the bases of games of almost all the chess players, facilitating to a great extent the preparation of games against a certain opponent.
This format is quite interesting since the games tend to be a little more correct and therefore the level of the tournament increases considerably.
As for the players present we had great figures: Master Fide Jose Mora, Master Fide Michel Lopez, Candidate Master Angel Ramirez, Candidate Master Jesus Molina; 16 year olds Alejandro Rumbos and Ali Jaramillo; Richard Suarez and myself Victor Abiad.
Interesting games were played and at the end of the competition days the tournament was won by the talented young Ali Jaramillo with a score of 5.5 units, a result that places him virtually close to the 2200 rating points and that will allow him to play the upcoming ITT at the end of the year.
Thanks to the support of José Mora, Gerardo Gonzalez and all the organization of the event, the games were broadcasted on the Lichess website. Mora tells us in the interview that this is an avant-garde technology developed by the Dutch company DGT (Digital Game Technology) which allows live transmission of the moves made by the chess players. This gives the tournament a plus because each game can be viewed anywhere in the world in real time.
Critical momentsHere are 3 interesting moments that came up in my games:
Victor Abiad vs MF Jose MoraIn this position against FM José Mora we approach a rather curious endgame. The game is dynamically balanced but the material is quite heterogeneous. At first glance we have that Black has a compensation of 3 pawns for White's bishop, this product of a rather violent middlegame. With a relatively correct game the game should end in a draw but the second player having his pawns aligned and passed can put some pressure, although it is true that Black's advance is quite restricted.
At this point I had very little time left and with the move 43)Kf3?? I lose control and Black wins material immediately with the move 43...)g5. It was better to continue with 43)Kh3 and in case of 43...)g5 the game remains balanced 44)Tf2 and it is difficult to think how Black can continue to advance his phalanx of pawns.
Victor Abiad vs CM Angel Ramirez
In this structure resulting from the French we arrive at a middlegame in which Black has managed to exchange the white squared bishop but this has cost him a lot, especially in the development and more critically, he has given up the bishop pair in a position of an open character in which White has no apparent weakness.
The time to make a decision that would consolidate the first player's advantage was on the table. During the calculation I considered 12)c3 and 12)g3. The first move was intended to take advantage of Black's lack of development on the queenside and play fast Db3 pressing on b7 but this idea is somewhat slow.

One of the reasons why sports are alive and growing is because of the presence of athletes who provide value to each of the disciplines. Likewise, in order for the players to be able to perform their respective practices/training sessions, it is necessary to have optimal facilities, infrastructure and spaces.
Chess is no exception. The "ideal" environment to play a game should be a quiet space with few distractions, which goes hand in hand with the nature of the science sport. However, all over the world there are public squares where a lot of chess is played, being ironically very noisy spaces. But, it is necessary to mention that from this kind of places have emerged legends like Bobby Fischer who used to play chess in the squares of New York.
Certainly, chess in squares is a custom that has been rooted in the practice of the sport as such for a long time.
It should be noted of course that this is an excellent way to promote the discipline and that thanks to the strategic location of these spaces a great multitude of people can be in contact with the game.
Speaking of this "tradition" of playing chess in outdoors, we see that Venezuela does not escape this situation and it is very common to see chess players playing games outdoors, whether friendly or even championship games. One of the most iconic places where they "move the pieces" is the famous Plaza Linares in the city of Coro, Falcon State.
It has been almost 20 yearsLocated in the very center of the city, "La Linares" has accumulated almost 20 years of history in which chess has been played at all levels. Important exponents of national and world chess have visited these facilities to share with the regular players of the Marian city.
The beginning of La Linares was in charge of Luis Navarrete who cultivated chess in this sector and later more players joined him to learn the techniques and strategies used in the game. Undoubtedly, the Falconian chess family remembers with great affection "Mr. Luis" who contributed a lot to the development of chess in the state. For his important contribution, this chess center is currently named after him.
Linares Place has been the meeting point for the Corianos to play chess. Many of the players of the State had their beginnings in this prestigious venue. Likewise, one of the strongest clubs of the State was founded in the Linares: "The Musketeers", which competed actively for several years.
With all these precedents and the history that the place keeps, it is quite clear that these facilities have a great value for the practice of the sport science.
Maintenance of the Linares
Last Sunday, August 21, a maintenance operation was started, directed and supported by the chess players themselves. The great Falconian chess family contributed with their grain of sand so that the facilities could be rescued and chess could be played in the best conditions. In the video we interviewed Leonel Vargas and Edgar Torrealba who talk to us in detail about these activities, both worthy representatives of the chess of the State and with an exceptional trajectory in first line championships.
AcknowledgementsAs mentioned above, this operation was possible thanks to the support of the players of the State. In the course of the next weeks, more maintenance days will be carried out to help to completely rescue this chess space.
The support of Professor Ramón Oropeza, who has been one of the greatest chess exponents of the State and who constantly supports the activities that take place in Falcón, stands out. Also, we are very grateful for the collaboration of Leonardo Ramones and Francisco Rafet, both iconic characters of the Linares. Thanks to the players Orlan Zavala, Jaiso Gauna, Jhonatan Gutierrez, Juan Carlos Martinez, Jolbis Diaz, Arnaldo Saul, Henrry Santana for their support.

Greetings to the Geek Zone community at hive and to all technology lovers in general. Today I am pleased to share with you another of the tools I use for content creation. This time it is not about hardware but rather a software, more specifically one of my favorite programs in terms of graphic design, today I come to recommend Gimp.
GNU IMAGE MANIPULATION PROGRAM better known as GIMP is one of the most powerful programs that we can find when making any design. As its name suggests it is Free Software which allows its source code to be under constant audit and new versions of the program are released on a regular basis. If you know some programming you can modify the code and create your own GIMP. All necessary resources can be found on its official website gimp.org.
Now, practically speaking and to summarize a bit, GIMP is like the Open Source alternative to Photoshop. For those who already know PS, the experience of using GIMP may be quite familiar, although there are certainly some aspects that vary in the manipulation of the program. However, anything you can imagine you can do with GIMP.
One of the main differences between PS and GIMP is that the latter is extremely light, its installer weighs about 250 MB while the PS executable exceeds the Giga, this of course, if you get it "in the underworld" or buy the license which we save with GIMP because it is free.
Many think that being Free Software we are talking about an inferior product, but this program is too complete and its features are enough for any type of production. It is a program that is optimized in an incredible way because according to the official documentation the minimum requirements to run it are basically 128 MB of RAM and 100 MB of storage which today are practically a laugh and any PC should run it without problems.
We won't have to worry about compatibility either as GIMP handles a wide range of file formats and extensions which will allow us to design without any technical limitations. As if that wasn't enough, it is cross-platform and is available on Windows, Mac and Linux of course.
Everything you need to design you will find it with GIMP, but, maybe you wonder why having the power it has does not enjoy the popularity that paid alternatives boast and is that if, this program is not as well known or at least not many people say so. This is due in part to the same bias of people who have a wrong idea of what is free software, in addition, multimillion companies develop thousands of products and commercial packages based on PS creating a monopoly that contributes to the proliferation of patents.
It is a topic that gives a lot to talk about but in my opinion I think that GIMP will be adopted little by little over time because the fact of being a free program that allows you to do what you can do with a software that you must invest hundreds/thousands of dollars in licenses means a great advantage.
In the video I talk about this program and a little of the tools it offers, of course, mastering GIMP in its entirety is not something that can be taught in a single delivery but it seems to me that the learning curve is quite reasonable and mastering the basics can be done in a matter of a few practice sessions and if you are already familiar with this type of interfaces then you already have part of the work completed.
I hope you find this content useful. In the tutorial I share with you "my method" to make thumbnails which I like to make quite minimalist and without so many elements that "contaminate the product".
These are the most recent thumbnails I have made for my posts, all made with gimp:

Today I share with you a new production just out of my Homestudio. In this demo I have recorded a track of minimalist arpeggios which will serve as the basis for the improvisation which has a very bluesy "David Gilmour" style.
In this track I try to interpret the minor progression which is characterized by transmitting a melancholic essence that of course, seeks to download all that "feelling".
As for the technical section of the sound I have used as main ingredients a little reverb and delay which are my favorite elements to create musical pieces. This combo is special to achieve that desired "intrigue" atmosphere. Both are Arturia VSTs that came with the purchase of the minifuse 2 audio interface that I talked about in this post. .
The configuration of the main guitar is as follows:
As for the lead guitar setup, I also used a delay but with some slight variations for the "clean" part and in the second part of the improvisation I used the free VSTs Emisary and Nadir to achieve a distortion effect.
I hope you like this track. Let me know in the comments what you thought of it and what settings you use in your recordings. Best regards and see you next time.

Hello chess friends!
In this post I share with you some games I played at the Hive Chess ournament last Friday an event hosted by @stayoutoftherz . The idea was to record the games live but I have been having problems with the internet which is very annoying.
Today I analyze four games which were quite interesting. At the end of this tournament I reached 2202 rating points which puts me very close to my goal of reaching 2300 points.

Fuente- Comparaci{on de eventos anteriores
Caruana Fabiano, Aronian Levon, So Wesley, Dominguez Perez Leinier yShankland Sam.

Source The love for chess continues. The most important event of the Science Sport has started. The 44th edition of the Chess Olympiads has started and India has dressed up to be the home of the world chess from July 28th to August 9th. With one of the most massive participations that the strategy game has ever seen, this edition pretends to be the best of all times according to what the organizers have expressed in different occasions.
In this important event, 188 teams in the absolute category and 150 teams in the women's category will live the board competition for more than two weeks; it is estimated that the number of players exceeds 2000 athletes. It should be noted that India has been postulated as the sponsor of this event since the previous organizer (Russia) cancelled the activities due to the conflict. With this last minute twist, few thought that the Olympics would take place, but the Asian country has stunned everyone with the stunning show they put on at the opening ceremony of the games.
As if that were not enough, India has lent its support to most of the countries attending the Olympics today, making this one of the biggest investments that the sport of science has seen in its history.
As for the great absences, China and Russia impressed the chess community because objectively speaking they are among the best teams both in the absolute and in the women and their "non-participation" gives a lot to talk about. In the case of Russia the reasons are quite obvious while in the case of China it is not very clear why but it is presumed that the strict quarantines currently held by the super power seem unavoidable. Let's remember that China has been proclaimed world champion in previous editions and its absence in this opportunity leaves a very marked lack of taste.
In any case, the level of the players in general is of the highest. The current world champion Magnus Carlsen, who recently expressed his definite intention of not defending the title next year, leads the Norwegian team and was quite optimistic and eager for his country to reach the top honors.
The United States, on the other hand, presents (according to the ranking) the strongest team made up of the most outstanding elite chess players:
Caruana Fabiano, Aronian Levon, So Wesley, Dominguez Perez Leinier andShankland Sam. This seems to be the dream team but no doubt we must wait for events to unfold as many players with great prospects are emerging on the scene, especially the young prodigies from India who are going with all the energy supported by former World Champion Anand.
In this video I analyze with my friend Monoica Navarro, National Chess Expert, the beginnings of this Olympiad, the general aspects of the games and the participation of the Latin teams.
I hope you enjoy this content and remember to leave your impressions about this new contest of the board. Best regards and until next time.

I'm so glad to greet again the most Geek Hive community. Today I share with you a new tech content inspired by the "Geek Gamer of the Week Event" proposed by @geekzone. For those of you who follow my blog, more specifically, my posts within this community will know that in the last few months I have done a few unboxings and reviews of various products focused on audiovisual production. However, there is a "toy" that I have not told you about so far and that I consider to be one of my secret weapons when it comes to creating content. By the thumbnail and the title of this article you will know what I'm talking about. Today I bring you a review of the CINEPEER C11 Gimbal.
A gimbal is basically a video stabilizer, or in other words, it is a device that allows you to capture video without the image coming out as shaky. Certainly, it is well known that stabilizing a video is possible by using some software in post-production and even more or less modern cameras and phones come with this option natively, BUT, in the vast majority of cases this stabilization involves a large crop of the image which translates into loss of useful information. By incorporating a gimbal to your camera/phone, you will get an extremely good result, the image will be more fluid and you can forget about those annoying shakes that you suffer when recording. With almost two years of use I can confirm that the CINEPER C11 is a war machine and will help you get some brutal shots.
I remember this was one of the first instruments I started to buy. At first it didn't seem like such a big deal and the prices of these devices were sky high, however, by that time my project (chessbrothers.com) which I manage with my brother @sawko was taking shape and we needed to make some kind of attractive commercials. My brother suggested buying the Gimbal and after giving it a lot of thought I bought the model in question.
As this purchase would represent something like an "experiment" I went for something not so sophisticated but making sure that it at least met the minimum requirements. The videos we were making at that time were made with my Xiaomi redmi note 9 pro, a more or less heavy terminal. This is one of the things to keep in mind when buying a gimbal: you must make sure it has the capacity to support the weight of your phone or camera. In this particular case the Cineper C11 is designed exclusively for cell phones. In general, a gimbal is not exactly cheap, in fact, when the first models came out the costs were around 3 digits, between $500 and $900 and even more. At the time of this purchase (almost 2 years ago) we found a good deal. This stabilizer cost me $70 (without shipping) so you can say that it is a low-end terminal considering the market prices of the moment.
The moment I had it in my hands, the feeling was: "overwhelmed". It was my first contact with a stabilizer and this one in spite of being a "simple" one had too many things that I didn't even know where to start. To mount the phone was a real odyssey but once you know how to do it everything is happiness. The only negative side of this gimbal is that the application (at that time) that connects to the cell phone did not work well at all, but this was not the end of the world because the stabilizer works perfectly without the need for software. With enough practice you will be able to master the Cineper C11 and your productions will go to the next level. I think it took me a week or two to get the hang of it and how to get the most out of it. As for the battery, I can't say exactly how long it lasts because at no time in these almost two years has it let me down, we always do long days of recording and the autonomy is incredible, I would say 3 to 4 hours of intense use or maybe more which is more than enough at least for my needs.
The gimbal is charged by USB and its battery is not removable. Perhaps for other content creators this is not so beneficial as I understand that there are people who like to have several backups and the moment a battery runs out they simply change it. In any case, the stabilizer charges quite fast.
Remember that this is not a last generation device but if we compare the most fundamental aspects of what is a gimbal I can tell you that it has nothing to envy to the most recent terminals. Of course, if you buy a stabilizer in this 2022 maybe you will get some interesting features like: C-type charging, touch panels, better quality in the shrinking materials, more capacity to handle the weight of your cell phone/camera, wireless collectivity (Bluetooth, wifi, etc.).
Another interesting feature is that the stabilizer itself is a tripod. This particular version does not have a base to hold it but it can be adapted to a generic parallel and this is perfect because it also serves me to record my gameplays.
Last but not least, this model came with a foam rubber case which is perfect to store and transport it in a comfortable and safe way. As I said, it has been used for almost two years and both the stabilizer and its packaging are in perfect condition.

Greetings again to the sports community, it is a pleasure for me to share with you about what I am passionate about. Today I will be talking about chess material, specifically in the video we will have a very practical section in which I show you a "live analysis" of games played in real time and in this written section I will tell you about the challenge I am carrying out and how this aims to contribute to my development as an athlete.
As in every sport, the recording of player statistics is fundamental because they help us to have a clear and objective idea of how the evolution of a particular player has been in a given period of time. In previous publications I have talked about the Elo which is that number that indicates the strength of a player. It is like the average of a batter, the higher this number is, the higher the strength of the player.
Within the world of chess the Elo has an extremely important connotation because it can open the doors to different events and titles. In practice, raising the Elo is not an easy task and this process is always accompanied by a hard road of ups and downs. Many times the player wants to raise his Elo without having raised his level first. It is one of the most common mistakes and this is perhaps the most frequent point of frustration for chess players.
To have a higher Elo we must win games, to win games we must exhibit a greater understanding of the board position than our opponent and for this we must logically train a lot. Many players skip these stages and as a result tend to go backwards or take the farthest path that will lead them to their goal.
Precisely this is a key word: "Objective", without a clear objective it is difficult to make progress in chess or in any other sport. As part of my training in recent months, I have set several goals in which is the strengthening of my repertoire of openings and improve the process of calculation. It has been intense weeks reviewing the defenses I play and I sincerely feel that I am understanding the essence of the structures a little better. However, it can't all be study.
In the overall training plan, the hours of practice are indispensable because when we submit ourselves to the pressure of a game we are totally out of that comfort zone that training gives us. It is not the same to be in the comfort of your home reading a book than trying to resist the onslaught of your opponent's pieces in a championship game.
Now, to stay active and continue providing performance to the training plan I have set myself the goal of reaching 2300 rating points in lichess.org. I want to clarify that the rating that manages this gaming platform does not correspond to the Elo calculated by the International Chess Federation, they are not equivalent or at least not entirely.
However, 2300 points online is a good goal and will serve to play several games which of course must be analyzed and try to get the maximum learning from each one.
In this challenge to reach 2300 points I have been playing interesting openings and defenses. Today in the video I share with you three examples and not only that but I also tell you my ideas while the clock is counting which is a tremendous disadvantage because you lose a lot of concentration and making the most accurate moves is not an easy task. However, it seemed appropriate to exemplify the process of searching for variants.
Analizando las partidas jugadas @vjap55 vs
punyaman
Analyzing the games played
We started the series of games with a game that took a totally unexpected turn at the end of the game. I proposed a game of the well-known Spanish opening, more specifically I played the exchange variation which aims to affect Black's pawn structure but in return White gives up the bishop pair rather quickly which is a not very strategic exchange but this struggle is compensated by the previously mentioned affectation. Undoubtedly it is a struggle in which each side will try to impose its advantage.
After several moves I gained an objective advantage and the moment to finish the game had arrived:
The balance is on White's side and at this moment I overlooked a simple continuation that ensured the material advantage. Mowed down by confidence I played the wrong way and ended up losing the game. Taking the king to f5 was enough to end the game.
@vjap5 vs

In the second game my opponent played quite well the initial phase of the French defense and in the middle game I felt a bit uncoordinated, especially my white squared bishop did not get good diagonals and its range of action was totally hindered by the formation of central black pawns. However, I reacted in time and developed an initiative on the kingside to try to distract my opponent, which turned out to be excellent because I was able to make my way through the enemy ranks with a nice sacrifice of knight and rook. This proves that the best defense is a counter attack.
Vitalievich1963 vs vjap55
In the third game things had a rather dramatic outcome because White played the King's gambit, an extremely sharp opening in which the first player must constantly press due to the premature delivery of material. After the insistence of my opponent to increase the pressure in the pinning of the "e" column, the game ended with a blunder which led to the delivery of queens without any compensation.
These were the games played today. At the end of these games my Elo went from 2145 to 2152 which is an increase of 7 points. My goal is 2300 points so I have to keep working hard to reach that figure.
Thank you very much for reaching this point of the post. I hope the games played are to your liking and please remember to leave your impressions. Best regards and see you in the next installment.

What a pleasure to greet again the entire Geek Zone community. This time I bring a somewhat different content to the posts I've been publishing in this Geek space. As you know, my posts usually point to the analysis of technological products, unpacked etc, but today I wanted to share my first gameplay and taking advantage of the fact that I recently got a good laptop it was time to see how it performed.
In this installment will be testing Fall Guyse of the games of the moment and that has caught the attention of many after it was released by Epic Games . I tell you in advance that my gaming experience is very little so do not expect an outstanding performance xd. From what I have been able to experience Fall Guys is quite entertaining and playing it with friends can be translated as an extremely enjoyable time. This is a game that does not squeeze the graphics card so much, but it is true that it needs some minimum requirements for the experience to be smooth enough. The most relevant is to have 8 GB of RAM, a more or less decent processor and of course a graphics card that is equivalent or superior to the NVIDIA GTX 660. With all these technical aspects the gameplay should be quite acceptable. I was running the game with my Acer Nitro 5 with a 1080p resolution at 120 FPS, if you want to know more about this laptop you can check this post in which I talk in detail about this product 100% recommended.
Returning to the gameplay, for days I wanted to try Fall Guys because several friends had been playing it although I must say that I felt it was a bit childish because of the colorful graphics, however, now that I have played a few games I can say that the game is really good. The good thing is that it is not so complicated to learn the basics, with just a brief review by some equatorial or asking your friends and you're ready to enter the arena. The thing is that this game requires a lot of skill from the user.
Basically, you must make sure that your avatar manages to cross the obstacles, avoid falling into the traps or precipices and of course try to overtake the rivals. This is easier said than done as each map has a variety of obstacles and therefore the strategy to approach varies depending on the situation you find yourself in.
As I mentioned at the beginning, this was my first gameplay and I'm not going to lie, I was terrible at passing the worlds hahahaha. The ability to pass the traps was very complicated for me because I have the impression that the avatars are a bit gelatinous, but you will see for yourself when you try it.
In this first approach to the game I could relate to the necessary aspects to carry out a game. However, I was very curious about what was going on in the international wake of the game. Investigating a little more, Fall Guys pretends to be a little more ambitious and in its official store, are available a series of items that serve to customize each of our avatars, it would be something like the Skins that have been implemented for years in different video games and of course many gamers are willing to pay something that in particular I do not dislike but I do not like it so much.
In addition, I was reading that some interesting agreements were being reached between Fall Guys, Rocket League and Fortnite and the truth is that for video game lovers this is a great crossover in which they can share features between each of them. This is all extremely visionary and I believe that in the coming months we will continue to see updates of this type. Finally, with this recent release of the game it is clear that more users will want to enter and of course, this seems to me a good market strategy by Epic Games because having more active users on their servers the chances of monetizing the items in the store is greater so it opens a huge window for speculation with these new "accessories" for the characters.
Despite making a fool of myself in every challenge xd, I had a pretty good time and I hope that for the next gameplay I can get a little further hahaha.

Today was another day on the lichess board, with many ups and downs in the games of course. I've set out to reach 2300 rating but things have not been so easy but that's what a challenge is all about, to surpass oneself. Today I played three quite dynamic games, I won one of them and lost the other two. In today's gameplay I had some connection problems and as you can see in the third game my clock reached zero because of a lot of lag. Anyway, here I leave the games and I hope there are some apprentices left.
vjap55 vs iaxia
Unfortunately I lost the advantage in a very favorable position in which the domination of the board was a key factor in the game. Black has very little space although it must be said that his position is quite solid. My intention was to put pressure on the a5 pawn and try to create an assault on the queenside where I had my eye on. But, a tactical slip made me lose the queen and with it the game.
HPD_LeHaiDang2012 vs vjap55
In this game happened the opposite of the first one xd. In a position in which I had everything against me I managed to save it with a tactical trick. With a pawn down in a middlegame in which it seemed that white would consolidate his advantage he made a serious mistake by leaving an attack uncovered that would make it lose the queen.
faresaboshahla9 vs vjap55
In this game I secured a good square for my knight on "e5", an ideal place since there are no enemy pawns on "f" or "d", making it unsuccessful. Despite this positional achievement I could not finish the game because I had some connection problems and at the last moment my clock reached 0 and I had an incredible advantage over the tabloid.
Thanks for watching the video and don't forget to leave your comments. The road still continues and the 2300 will soon be reached!

In this episode I continue with the challenge of reaching 2300 rating points in lichess. After losing some points in the Hive Chess Tournament today I recovered some units and continue the ascent to the goal. I played three quite interesting games in which I had a good result. In the first game my opponent committed a pretty serious blunder in a position with interesting prospects for both of us. In the second a nice queen and knight mate pattern appeared and in the third my opponent wanted to threaten mate on h7 but his pieces were not coordinated enough to damage my black king.
Let's take a closer look at the games:
@vjap55 vs mikechess7
This was a rather short game that had a tragic ending for Black as he gave away the queen, of course the final position was already somewhat complicated as Black severely weakened the kingside especially the black squares. At the beginning I found Black's position interesting because this type of defense is quite solid.
I think that playing f4 was a mistake by my side because although I gained space on the kingside the "e4" pawn is very weakened but Black did not know how to take advantage of this.
@vjap55 vs
Schedrin_ntc_fsk_ees
In the second game we played a Spanish with some slight variations of the main line. My opponent played a closed scheme and I quickly exchanged the white squared bishop causing a weakness on "e6" but this allowed me to get counterplay on the kingside.
The attack was successful and this nice pattern was played:
Ninjameister07 vs @vjap55 (2145)
This game ended rather quickly as well. My opponent played a somewhat unconventional English opening. He allowed me to attack very fast on the "a" column and finally left a piece hanging.
Well, these were today's games, I hope you liked them and leave in the comments your impressions about this gameplay. Greetings and see you next time.

For an athlete, one of the most important moments in sports planning is to attend his or her fundamental competition, this being the end point of a specific preparation cycle. The training therefore, must be justified with the proper participation in a championship, tournament or event that puts into practice all the knowledge and skills acquired during the preparation sessions.
Today I share with the community my participation in the National Chess Championship for people with Visual Disabilities which was held in the city of Caracas in the facilities of the Rafael Vidal Library of the National Sports Institute (IND) from June 14 to 18 of this year.
For those who follow my blog will know that I belong to the national team since 2012 and that during all this time I have been able to represent Venezuela in various competitions worldwide. However, staying in the team has not been an easy task because every time the chess level in general increases and new players yearn to enter the team. Hence the importance of keeping training and continue to increase the understanding of the sport science.
However, in order to enter the national team, a series of technical requirements must be met. In summary, an athlete must participate in the national championship, place among the best players of the event (this is at the discretion of the technical direction), then the player is summoned to one or more checks in which he will face the rest of classified chess players, finally after all this series of tournaments and meet the marks set in the competitive cycle is obtained the quota to the national team.
That said, we can then affirm that the National Championship is the fundamental event that enables the first phase of selection, hence its great importance. In theory this event should be held annually, however, with all the incidents resulting from the pandemic and other logistical inconveniences, this event has not been held since 2016, although it should be noted that the chess activity has not stopped in its entirety as various online and regional events have been taking place with reasonable frequency.
After hard work on the part of the Federaci贸n Polideportiva Ciegos de Venezuela (FEPOCIVE) who are responsible for the organization of the event, the long-awaited National Championship is held after a pause of 6 years. Of course, many chess players were anxious to participate and give their maximum effort to achieve the highest honors and join the Venezuelan national team.

In previous publications I have talked about chess for the visually impaired, if you are curious about this interesting topic, here is an article in which I explain how a blind person can make the moves on the board: Chess for the visually impaired.
Continuing with the championship, after the technical bases are established and finally the athletes gather in the playing arena, the countdown begins to find out who will win the glory. Let's remember that chess is a highly competitive sport and on the board each strategist tries to defeat his opponent. This must be clear because in the chess guild we are all one family as the motto of the International Federation "Gens Una Sumus" dictates, but when the game starts, the best must win.
Clasificaci贸n Final - Resultados Oficiale
We are all very good friends but since chess is a contest there must be a winner, always promoting fair play. This is what is involved in high performance, many start but few are those who prevail.
In this opportunity my participation was quite good. My initial position was number 3 according to my rating and at the end of the tournament I got the second place so I climbed a place in the overall standings but more importantly this allows me to remain in the selection and to be called for the next international events.
In this tournament 6 rounds were played of which I won 3, drew 2 and lost one, totaling 4 units. I had to face several of my colleagues with whom I have shared a team in the world championships, but as I mentioned before, this is an individual championship and the game must be played on the board.
As in any competition, there is always a learning experience and more experience is accumulated for the chess career. A fundamental part for progress is the analysis of each game played, which will help us to identify our weak points, the mistakes made and different aspects of the game that with a proper review can be improved. In the video I analyzed three of the games I played in Caracas highlighting key moments and recreating part of my rationing in decision making.

Hey guys!
Today I start a new series in which I will try to reach 2300 rating on lichess. Currently I have 2134 although I have recently touched 2200, the thing is that I have had many ups and downs and my rating as you can appreciate is extremely volatile. So I am serious about reaching 2300 and I will be recording my games and explaining out loud the ideas of each game. I don't know how long this is going to take but it seems to me something quite interesting to practice because we chess players should set goals and this seems to me a good opportunity to keep growing.
Games played
https://lichess.org/3IQOvNlTaeSX
In this game I have the white pieces and my opponent played a Sicilian defense Najdorf Variation, one of my favorite variations when I was a kid and that I sometimes use it in one game or another. My opponent decided to play the attack on the queenside quickly with b5 quite early to which I responded with a standard development of the English attack. However, Black played imprecisely and let the white knight conquer the square on c6, which of course affects them a lot and makes them look very bad positionally.
https://lichess.org/PzpRnmY2Lu59
In this second game I had the black pieces and an interesting structure of the Italian opening was also presented. It is well known that in this opening there are many traps and black must be in good shape to evade all this poison. My opponent decided to play an interesting gambit, sacrificing the d4 pawn he gets a tremendous activity that helps him to create problems in the black position, however the initiative was not enough to break the formation of the black side and later I was left with a fairly strong counterplay on the kingside to which white was seriously compromised.
I hope you enjoy this new series of videos and I thank you to let me know in the comments what you think of the games. Thanks for watching the video and see you next time.

Yesterday we had the fourth round of the hive chess tournament season 12, an event organized by our host @stayoutoftherz. Last week I could not play the round because I was playing the national chess tournament for visually impaired people, in another article I will tell you about this tournament.
In this round number 4 I did not have such an outstanding performance although I was able to play a few interesting games. It's a bit strange to play blitz after having played a full week of classical chess, but well all chess players must adapt to the format of the game they play.

We had the 2nd round of the Hive Chess Tournament season 12 this friday as usual, an event organized by our friend @stayoutoftherz. Finally after a long wait my laptop arrived yesterday and with this I can continue posting content here on hive. Also something that I missed a lot was to comment my games while playing and today I could do it but with not so favorable results.
This time we played a 7 round swiss tournament with a quite “short” time control 5+0 , that's right, without increment which is a bit challenging, things get very ugly when the clock is ticking down lol. I managed 4 points (4 wins and 3 losses). In one of the games I had a problem with the mouse and I don't know why but it suddenly stopped working and I had to play with the mousepad of the laptop which is super uncomfortable. When I lost that game I decided to stop the recording and play on the phone because you can imagine that situation.
Anyway, I have to practice again the skill of talking while playing xd. Here I leave some games played for me today:
@Char-meleon vs @vjap55
I started the tournament losing the first game. After analyzing it I see that I had some minor problems in the opening, more specifically I played very mechanically and missed the opportunity to hunt down White's black squared bishop with the strong 8...)Nh5 instead I played the pawn to d6 which is an unambitious scheme and White is in a good position to keep an eye on this point. After a couple of more moves, I started the assault on the queenside.
This was a somewhat correct plan but I ended up losing a pawn without any compensation.
But the final mistake would come in the rook endgame in which I hastily captured the b-pawn and the game turned into a kings and pawns endgame totally lost for me. However, my saving move was 36...) f6+ which would force the white king to retreat and then I could take the b-pawn and maintain equality.
@vjap55 vs @Akshak
Here was something very ironic. As you can see in the video, my mouse started to crash and it was very uncomfortable to finish this game because I had to do it from the mousepad of the laptop and not to mention the short time on the clock.
The game was quite interesting from the theoretical point of view in which it seems that Black was well prepared in this line of the Pelikan. Unfortunately I played the middlegame very inaccurately and mistook a tactical plan with c5, instead I should have developed the bishop to e2 and moved my king to the g2 square and tried to achieve a safe setup. This idea of sacrificing the pawn on c5 was wrong and Black held the advantage until the end.
@jaki01 vs @vjap55
It looked like things were going to end up pretty decent after I was able to win a few games. In the last game I completely collapsed in what could have been a more interesting encounter. Again I mixed in some Italian/Spanish ideas where Black plays h6-g5 to knock White's bishop out of play, however on this occasion this idea doesn't work as my bishop is on b4 instead of c5 which would prevent White's quick f4 advance by the pin. The rest is history, white finished this off well.
I hope to be able to improve a little for next week since I have the national chess tournament for the visually impaired. I will be informing you about my performance in this upcoming tournament.
Don't forget to leave your impressions in the comments and let me know what you think of these games. Thanks for the visit and see you next time.
This post has as a 10% beneficiary @badge-646464 to contribute to the league's reward pool.

We had cool games in the week 3 of the Hivechess "Candidates Tournament"! this is an event hosted by our dear friend @stayoutoftherz.
In this opportunity I played 3 games. I was able to win 2 matches and unfortunately I suffered an ugly defeat. There is still a long way to go in the tournament to determine the final results but I think I missed a key point today that I will discuss later in the analysis.
Today I managed to record the games and have a pretty nice time. The time control is great to play good games but you know that "extra second" seems too little sometimes hahahaha. Anyway, let's go straight to what happened in the games.
@pereu4ivatel vs @vjap55
My matches against @pereu4ivatel always end with some unexpected twist. The preparation of this player with the white pieces is quite interesting because he plays unconventional openings so he may surprise his opponents from very early in the match.
However, some inaccuracies on White's middlegame led to a very unfavorable situation in which the white king is in troubles since it still in the center. The first player was a bit ambitious in opening up the position when I had the bishop pair. In the position we can see that there is a lot of activity, white tries to get rid of the pin with an interesting resource "c6" but black has a very elegant solution which would leave them with extra piece, but ... I did not see it xd, I let pass the powerful Ncc5 and then things changed a lot but in the end I ended up winning this game.
@jaki01 vs @vjap55
Well, here I had my first stumble. To be honest I was surprised by the fact that jaki played 1)e4, I was expecting his usual 1)d4 but it seems he wanted to avoid any kind of preparation. In any case things didn't go so well for him in the opening as we played a Scotch in which I was very comfortable but some doubts I had in the first moves would cost me a lot of time in the endgame.
Here, I hesitated for a long time to capture the pawn and White has made a mistake by not defending it. The most usual thing is to play the bishop to f4 to protect "e5" but instead White has threatened the knight with the idea that the e5 pawn is defended for tactical reasons on the "e" file.
After wasting a lot of time, I took the pawn and White put all his strength to exploit the pin in the filewhere my king was.
How I could not remember this position! Many many years ago when I was learning to play this opening I read in an old book that the e5 pawn not being defended with the bishop could be captured because there is a variation that refutes all of White's intentions and in that book appeared this exact position.
In this position it is game over. After 12...) Qxf2!+ White doesn't have much hope, taking the king to h2 loses by 13...)Bd6 then if he plays 13)Kh1 Bxh3!! threatening mate on g2, if 14)gxh3 Qf3+ 15)Kh2 Bd6. A rather nice variation which is one of the first things that I learned when I started playing against the Scotsman but I forgot it. I took on f2 with the bishop and we ended up playing a complex ending in which my time ran out.
@B0s vs @vjap55
Finally, after losing the second game, "I got out of my seat" and started to watch the other players' games and concentrated for the next match. I just realized while writing this that today I played the three games with the black pieces lol.
My opponent played a solid London system and things were going quite well for him but he made a tactical mistake that made him lose a piece and be in a very bad position. Here is a mate in 5, let me know the answer in the comments:) Black to play!!
Well I hope you like this analysis and gameplay. I wish you a great weekend and lots of success tomorrow in the @schamangerbert tournament.

It is getting harder and harder to capture the attention of the masses. That is why most of the successful songs that have been produced in recent years have been made under the concept of "less is more." This has given rise to different fronts in the music world to open the debate: Can what we currently listen to be considered music? Regardless of whether you are in favor of a certain genre or another, it is undeniable that the most popular songs have a fairly minimalist composition but manage to arouse the interest of the general public.
Indeed, when we talk about musical tastes everything is subjective and personally I think it is not worth arguing about it. However, something that I do find extremely interesting is to analyze the structure of the melodies and what mysteries are hidden in the most catchy arrangements. And this is where the key is, "the catchy". When we listen to something simple and easy to remember we will be humming that rhythm over and over again, in other words, the studio where that mix came from achieved its goal: to plant a sequence of sounds in your subconscious.
Believe me this is a complicated task. To make an arrangement with just about 4 or 5 notes (even less) and have that be the next world hit, well good luck with that.
I think people underestimate this a lot. A composition may look simple but the behind the scenes work is crazy. Many people think they can sit there in front of the computer and in 5 minutes create a musical hit. Yes, it is true that nowadays we have many facilities to produce music and there have been thousands of success stories coming out of a room but as a general rule it is known that getting a catchy song on the air comprises an overwhelmingly strenuous process.
How do we create a song from scratch? There will be different answers to these questions but in my opinion I think that we must have a "minimum" knowledge of music theory which will help us to identify those elements that we want to capture in our work and not feel so lost when composing. Some may say that studying music today is a waste of time because technology provides us with interactive tools, that many of the great exponents of music do not know anything about music theory etc etc etc. These are half-truths and as I say, it is not necessary to be a scholar or the greatest of music theorists, with solid fundamentals such as: tempo, measures, scales, rhythms, harmony, we will already be well on the road to production. Mastering these fundamentals at a basic-intermediate level is something that will not take as long as many believe. To neglect this is simply an excuse for not wanting to progress and trying to do things by "inspiration" alone will lead you down a path of frustration. Make the most of your time and study!
Go to action Once we are clear about these basics, we can choose an instrument, familiarize ourselves with everything related to its execution and start composing our melodies. Acquiring an instrument can be expensive, so there is always the option of using the virtual instruments that are presented in music production software, most of which are free.
This may all sound very general and of course there are more elements in the formula of a world hit but you have to start from the beginning and many people get stuck in the first step when they see all that there is to go through. It is better to go little by little and without worrying so much.
Experiment, share, improve. It happens a lot that we reach a decent level to produce our songs but for one reason or another we don't go further. When we compose we have a large arsenal of ingredients that can further embellish our projects: effects, EQs, "weird" scales etc. It is always good to give a try to those things that we are not used to play and that can make our mix sound more original or give it a tone out of the ordinary. Experimenting is the key to achieve what we are looking for.
Face the critics As I mentioned at the beginning, music is a subjective subject so it feeds a lot on people's opinions. When recording anything: a riff, a fragment, an arrangement, it's important to have an "extra" pair of ears. That's right, asking someone else's opinion will help us to enrich the project we are working on. We must avoid "burying" our tracks so that they can be heard by our audience, even if it is a small one. It is good to accept criticism and based on that improve the quality.
The Challenge Getting back to the point of catchy songs, I'm going to try to compose a piece in which with a few notes we have that "engagement". My musical tastes are more rock oriented, so this demo may have a lot of rock influences. I won't dwell so much on the theoretical sections and it will be more of a practical demonstration in which I will explain the scale, the equipment, the effects and other technical details.
As you know the main theme of the fragment that I will create will be quite minimalist and with few notes we will achieve a loop of those that we can remember very easily.
In the video I use:
-A JCX Stargazer electric guitar Stratocaster
-A Asturia Minifuse 2 sound card - You can see the analysis of this audio interface in this post
-Reaper recording software
I hope you like the final result. Let me know in the comments what you thought of it and what you think of the process of creating music tracks.

The Hive Chess Tournament is back and this time things will be a little bit different. Instead of playing the swiss and arenas tournaments this time we will have "The Candidates Tournament". I find it quite interesting because in this kind of championship we will have the opportunity to see more rivalry on the board. And the fact that 13 hivers are participating in the tournament makes this contest even more exclusive. Everyone has the opportunity to play with the "candidates". The tournament will be shorter but the level is quite strong in my opinion.
Another thing I think is that every Friday we will play a reduced number of games and this means "quality before quantity". It is also more appropriate to share all the games played as there will only be 4 of them. So, besides the video where you can see my reactions during the games I will share the analysis of each of them!
So let's get straight to the point: I played 4 games achieving 2.5 points (two wins, one loss and one draw). In this first phase I didn't want to play my traditional repertoire because being a tournament with few players the possibility of falling into the opponent's preparations are higher so in my games you will see quite sidelines and perhaps with the white pieces I didn't look for much activity at least in the opening.
My games Here is the timeline to see all 4 games :
@vjap55 vs @stayoutoftherz (02:07)
@vjap55 vs @deadleaf (12:47)
@samostically vs @vjap55 (22:48)
@vjap55 vs @sawko (33:35)
@vjap55 vs @stayoutoftherz
In the first round I faced @stayoutoftherz. As I say I didn't do much in the opening but things got pretty interesting in the middle game when the tactics woke up.
My pieces are not placed in the best way. I wanted to develop a somewhat unconventional idea by developing my bishop on the b2 square but Black with good criteria castled in the queen side and my idea ceased to make sense. Likewise my knight on h4 is not in its best square and taking on g6 would be its only reasonable destination which would open up the h-file and Black would have interesting options.
The thing is that my forces did not make so much sense after playing a not very theoretical opening. However, at this point I got a challenge to my opponent since this "pawn sacrifice" can give me interesting chances since opening the "b" file might cause the black king to suffer. However this was pure speculation, Black can take b4 with the bishop and everything would be under control because my pieces would be out of sync.
For some reason Black did not capture on b4 and this brought serious consequences because now the pawn can advance and achieve the so-called break which seriously weakened Black's king and subsequently the game was won by me.
@vjap55 vs @deadleaf
This may be the game I am least proud of lol. As in the previous game I played a rather passive strategy in the opening and Black had no problem to equalize. The game ended in a draw quickly after a fast simplification.
@samostically vs @vjap55
To get out of the routine in my game against Samo I decided to use my secret weapon xd the Sicilian defense which I haven't used in official competitions for a while. We played an alapin in which I achieved a quite comfortable position and the main strategy was the fight against White's isolated pawn on "d4".
But after a big blunder by white I ended up winning a piece and the resulting position was totally calm so I should not have had any problem in winning that game.
For some weird reason I ended up losing despite having a decisive advantage, maybe the time pressure or not seeking to neutralize the activity of the pieces I do not know. This defeat was very painful but I decided to go ahead and keep my composure because in the next round I had to face the favorite player of the league.
@vjap55 vs @sawko
This game was chaos. This opening I think we played it 122334543345454 times hahaha. And the worst of all is that I didn't remember exactly the best continuation of it. Indeed, I made a mistake in the middle game and almost lost a piece. However after a few spins I managed to have a great activity on the black king.
The game could have ended here but sawko decided to extend the game a little longer as his fighting spirit is great. After my defeat in the third game I was able to get up and defeat the strongest player which gave me great encouragement.
The tournament has just begun and we will see how everything develops in the coming weeks. This Friday the action continues and I hope to be better prepared for the next games.
Let me know what you think about this games and feel free to share your own analysis as well. See you in the next time!

It seems a bit odd that I am posting this so late because I usually record and upload very fast my gameplay of the Friday hive chess tournament organized by our host @stayoutofhterz, but the truth is that it has been a very busy week with a lot of news and changes for me.
We are all very worried about the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine, let's hope that this will end as soon as possible and that peace will last above all. Due to this situation many sport events have been cancelled and in July was going to take place the olympics for people with disabilities in Russia in which I was going to participate but for obvious reasons it has been suspended and we now don't know exactly when and where it will take place.
However, the coach of the Venezuelan national team has told us to continue training and not to neglect our preparation because we still have confirmed the PanAmerican event in Mexico which will be played in October and we also have the National Championship in early April so we must continue practicing and studying more chess.
Well, Back to the hive chess tournament this Friday, I could not play it in the best conditions because I was at the airport in Caracas accompanying my dear friend @rosmarly who has moved to italy and now starts a new life. I wish her a lot of success and hope everything goes well :).
it was interesting to try this new "environment" to play a few games of chess. The results as you can imagine were not the best :)
Since the beginning of last week I had in mind to play the tournament from the airport as my flight was supposed to take off at 21:00 GMT which was perfect as it was one hour before the HCT and well in theory I could play the whole tournament.
I arrived quite early to the waiting room and got ready to play the championship but the noise, the distractions, the people going back and forth made it very difficult for me to concentrate. With all that I was able to play some interesting games.
Just half an hour before the flight, they announced that the plane had some problems which is normal I guess and I immediately thought that the flight would be delayed a few hours but, they immediately announced the change of plane with another airline which got the process faster and unbelievably we started boarding 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
In other words, I could not finish the tournament because the "new" plane took off earlier than scheduled.
Now that I think about it, I have not boarded a plane since the pandemic started. The last time I traveled was in 2019 when I went to a tournament in Turkey and the truth is that there is a big difference especially with the mask and is that it is super uncomfortable, I could hardly breathe when during the trip.
Anyway, not to lose the habit, I decided to upload this video analyzing 2 games that I played in the HCT this Friday. The first one aginst @jaki01 and the second on3 against @schamangerbert. I hope you like it and leave me in the comments what you thought of the analysis and what do you think of playing in such an uncomfortable environment like an airport :)

It has been a very busy week for me. Yesterday I returned from the capital of my country and it was very difficult for me to record my games as usual in the friday tournament, however, in the next few days I will upload a post analyzing some of those games I played at the airport. My schedule has changed a bit and today I was able to get to my studio in time to record the the Saturday Hive Chess tournament that @schamangerbert organizes.
This time the starting position was the Tal variation in the Caro-Kan defense. I have played this variation a few years ago with the white pieces. The idea is easy to follow, it is basically to expand the forceson the kingside and put pressure on Black's bishop. Currently I do not play this variation because I prefer a scheme a little more solid and without so many tactical complications, but it is certainly a weapon to take into account in a championship game.
I have to admit that I don't have much idea of how to play with the black pieces, the caro-kan has never been part of my repertoire and the consequences of that you can see in my games lol. It is well known that this is a defense quite often used by grandmasters, even in the Kasparov-Karpov duels it was used very often. But, understanding this defense takes a lot of time and practice especially because the play of the white pieces is very intuitive and the first player could get a great space advantage in no time.
As for the results of the tournament, we saw some interesting surprises: @emic managed to win and it seems that this variation has done him good because he scored almost all the points and only suffered a loss totaling 26 points. Then @pereu4ivatel who finished undefeated but did not use bersek in any of his games preventing him to add more points but it seems a reasonable strategy because by using all the reflection time you have a better control over the games and the quality of play is very high. And @samostically had the bronze medal.
You can find the full games and results here
This tournament was not one of my best but as always I had a nice time with the members of the chess community. I hope next week to improve my performance and continue fighting for the ranking in the leaderboard.
Let's take a look at some of the positions I played in this tournament:
@vjap55 vs @stayoutoftherz
This game hurt me a lot xd. I was quite calm because I got a quite comfortable advantage in the opening and Black was left with an unpleasant situation. However @stayoutoftherz kept fighting until the end and managed to get some counterplay but objectively it was not enough. In the final moments of the game I had a technical issue with my mouse and at this moment I was going to play my queen to the d4 square which would be check and the game would be defined, but I moved it to c4 by accident and this allowed Black to win the game instantly. Chess online things, what can I tell you... :)
@vjap55 vs @samostially
I have no complaints about this game, samostically played much better this time and showed a much greater knowledge of this variation.
My pieces are too uncoordinated while black's pieces play with total freedom and my king is exposed to a strong attack from the pawns.
@rodrook vs @vjap55
Again I am not proud of my results in the opening, white did very well so far but here for some strange reason @rodrook did not take my knight on e5 which would have left him a very clear advantage.
@bos vs @vjap55
I liked this game because of the concept of attacking on the queenside. The black rooks in combination with the white squared bishop work very well and create an incredible mate threat to the white king. Unfortunately this game did not count as the tournament was already over :) but it is still good.
In the video you can see my games played and how I suffered against this variation xd I hope you like it.
See you tomorrow in the final of the Chess Brothers league!

They say that perseverance pays off. The truth is that chess is a proof of this. Many times we want to throw in the towel because things do not seem to be going in the right direction. But to win you have to know how to lose as an old song says.
But it is not just about being "stubborn" but rather about identifying those failures and improving in order to get better results in the future. It is hard to get up after a defeat, but it is more painful to stay lying on the floor without doing anything.
Chess has been for me that great help to want to improve, it has been that way since I was a child. Of course I have had some bitter moments on the board but in the end there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
We must always think of ways to improve ourselves, especially psychologically. Losing a game is a hard blow but if you are not willing to turn the page things will be much worse.
Well, I'm telling you all this because something like this happened this Friday at the Hive Chess Tournament organized by @stayoutoftherz.
As usual we played a great tournament with many strong players. Everyone is giving their best as the season is coming to an end. Round 7 was played and we have only 3 rounds left to define the leaderboard.
Things went pretty well this time although I have to say that I had a pretty bad start losing the first 3 games. I was pretty beaten up about it but I didn't let those toxic thoughts affect me so much and decided to go ahead with a good attitude.
I started to gain a little more confidence when I won the first point (game number 4). And things got better and better, in fact I won 8 games in a row and with that I managed to get the 4th place. I even managed to take revenge on @sawko :).
I won against @petreius in the last game but the tournament was unfortunately already over.
As for the results of this round there were not many surprises: @eniolw in first place, @tungphong in 2nd place, @sawko in third place (good result because it keeps the lead in the ranking) I got the 4th place and @jaki01 in 5th place.
You can see the full results here
These were some of my games
@vjap55 vs @lucianosky
As you can see in the game my opponent decided to use the petrov defense which is one of the most solid and difficult to defeat, so I was forced to play a rather unbalanced and complicated variation with sacrifices in the enemy's castle.
I got a very good position but the time pressure as always spoiled my whole strategy, but this is blitz that's what it's all about, isn't it? I managed to get to an endgame of queen and knight against queen and bishop in which I felt quite comfortable.
However, as you can see I didn't give the last blow, a simple mate in 2. White plays and wins! Your answer in the comments!
@lucianosky vs @vjap55
How sweet is revenge! just kidding xd
In this game I was able to give one of the blows back to luciano and this time he wouldn't be saved. I really like this game veyond the mistakes made. This confrontation demonstrates the fight of bishops of different color. Many times players think that this is "equality" but the truth is that in the middle game the side that attacks in the opposite color of the enemy will have the advantage. The final position is very nice, white simply cannot avoid mate on "g2".
@vjap55 vs @samostically
Black decides to play a side ine in the Spanish opening, in fact this development of the knight on e7 got me a lot of issues when I was a kid in tournaments but I decided to prepare myself better to fight against this variation.
Several years ago I had prepared some traps against this specific move order but I had forgotten them lol So in this game I wasn't sure if I was doing it right, the only thing I remembered was that you can sacrifice the pawn on d4 in exchange for initiative in the center, also there is a queen sacrifice on d4 but I don't remember very well how it works.
The truth is that here Black has been left with a difficult position and it is very difficult to make a move. It seems that the best option is to take the bishop on f6 which would lead to Black's king losing its castling and White would be quite well off.
@vjap55 vs @sawko
Another Petrov! but what happens? Is this defense becoming more fashionable? Well, the truth is that I think it makes sense, it is a real annoyance for White to get some advantage in this type of structures that are so symmetrical and solid.
In short, in this ending I am two pawns down but if given the choice again I would choose the white pieces !.
It is a complicated endgame because it translates into a fight of material against time. It seems to me that white is somewhat better because it is easier to mobilize the pieces, in fact the white king is much safer than his opponent who is quite exposed to the attacks of the queen and white rook.
Sawko was certainly in a hurry for time due to bersek so my strategy was to prolong the game as much as possible. In that struggle he committed the last blunder and I was able to checkmate.
I am so excited to see how the leaderboard evolves after this round. Thank you for reading this post and I hope you enjoy my gameplay. I wish you good moves and see you in the next opportunity!.

This Friday we had round number 6 of season 10 of the Hive Chess Tournament organized by @stayoutoftherz.
It was a fairly intense tournament with a 5-minute time control with no increment. The truth is that I thought that this blitz would suit me well but the truth is that I did not do as well as in the previous rounds.
However I had a lot of fun and finally after a break in the transmission of my games I'm back. I am still struggling with this commenting and playing modality but I really dig it and I will in this way for a bit more.
@jaki01 took the 2nd place while @tungphong after a well-deserved rest conquered the 3rd position.
You can find the full results and games of this round here
This time I didn't make it to the top but at least I managed to play some interesting games and scored good points for the leaderboard ranking. This was actually my performance:
Source
Three games I could not win
Let's look at 3 games which were very unfortunate and I was able to give it the final blow.
@vjap55 vs @samostically
In this game I achieved a very big advantage in the opening but because Black allowed me to control the d5 square, this was a weakness that I exploited during the middlegame and I was also able to put a strong knight on that square. This was possible because Black played e5 instead of e6 on move 6 of this Sicilian.
However, I did not notice this nice queen sacrifice during the game, of course my advantage was too big and I let this tactical resource pass me by. A few moves later I was left with a decisive advantage but the time pressure made me make a series of mistakes and well, Samo got away with it lol. Next time I'll try not to talk so much xd
@cocacolaron vs @vjap55
I liked this game very much, especially from the theoretical approach. I remember that I checked this variation of the alapin a lot in one of my international competitions and the moves I played with the black pieces I had well studied, in fact I got to that position of the isolated pawn where it is considered that black is somewhat better strategically.
However at this moment I did not follow the right plan. Certainly the weakness is the d4 pawn so my strategy must be to attack it, a very effective plan was to double the rooks on the "d" file, this would have clearly been a for the white structure. But I mistakenly changed the rooks on the "c" file which allowed a few plot twists but in the end in the last seconds of the match I gave perpetual check because I did not want to risk too much as the position had gotten out of control.
@vjap55 vs @sawko
This game was crazy, I mean CRAZY. Too many back and forth moments. The truth is that I didn't know what moment to take from this match. I had many opportunities to win after a couple of simple moves but for some reason I didn't see them at the right time. This is the clearest example since in the pawn endgame white only has to take the g5 pawn and with that he wins, that's it, it's as simple as that. If black recaptures this pawn with the king then the d5 pawn advances gloriously and sacrifices itself so that its colleague the c-pawn crowns, too easy and I didn't see it, what can I tell you?. I played very badly and ended up losing this simple basic pawn endgame.
Well, this was a quick recap of the games I couldn't win this Friday. In the video you can see all my games, I hope you like it. Let me know in the comments what you think about this way of playing.
See you next time and remember this saturday the @schamangerbert tournament continues and on sunday the @chessbrotherspro league so get ready for this weekend!

Training outdoors has become one of the hottest trends in fitness. It is becoming more and more common to see a group of fitness enthusiasts performing their routines outdoors. Performing various body conditioning activities at these recreational sites brings with it an incredible list of health benefits for the individual. At the same time, this boom in outdoor physical exercise involves some concern on the part of the practitioners: The maintenance of the facilities. In most cases these spaces are vacant lots, squares, i.e., areas that receive little or no support in terms of managing their own livelihood.
Therefore, when the time comes, people who regularly train in these areas must make a choice: seek outside help to improve conditions or simply act passively and do nothing about it. Of course, we must be proactive and try as much as possible to condition our training areas! It is precisely this attitude that our Chess Brothers team shares.
Taking into consideration the above, this Saturday, February 12, youth day, an activity was held in the Plaza Ramon Antonio Medinas in the city of Coro, Falcon State, a place where the members of the Chess Brothers project and other physical exercise enthusiasts regularly attend. In this post @sawko talked about the invitation and playing conditions of the event.
This place has become a hotbed of new talents that are constantly joining the world of calisthenics. We have been active in these facilities for more than 5 years and it seemed appropriate to make our contribution to the improvement of the place. The activity consisted of a donation and planting of trees for the beautification of the area, we also gave instruction on how to assemble a chess board which was a requirement that each participant had to complete to enter the calisthenics tournament in pairs.
In this opportunity we had a very interesting audience: 8 pairs participated in the tournament "Masters of Resistance". In addition, there were present authorities of the college of engineers, representatives of INFALCOSTA (Falconian Institute for research, sustainable development and conservation of arid and coastal areas), leaders of the municipal office of environment and the general public to add an estimated 30 people. For us it was a pleasure to share with the people who attended this event. It is important to highlight the concept of planting trees because they will provide shade in the future and at the same time create a commitment to the athletes who must make the respective irrigation every time they attend training sessions. Initially, it had been considered to place a roofed structure, but this would take away the main attraction of "outdoors". The plants donated were the Araguaney and Samán de Güere, both emblematic figures in the history of Venezuela.
As for the instruction of the chess board assembly, this was an interesting way to massify the science sport, since it was something simple and fun to do, the "calisthenics" showed a lot of interest. Certainly, this is one of the main tasks that Chess Brothers has as a project, that is, to combine the practice of chess with exercise so that the physical and mental health of the person is properly balanced. Afterwards, the calisthenics tournament took place, in which the athletes gave their all in a high intensity contest. @sawko will be talking more in detail about this segment of the activity in a next post.
Finally, those present were invited to participate in a discussion about the HIVE platform. We are confident that these types of activities will help strengthen the blockchain as new hivers are on the way thanks to the work that the CB project is doing.

Getting started in the music industry is not easy, it never has been. It is extremely overwhelming the amount of details that we must have under control to produce our own songs in a professional way. I always like to say that the greatest resource we have is our talent, effort and dedication. Without these elements it is very difficult for any project to succeed. But, if we are truly objective, technological resources are inevitably a vital piece in the arduous path of production, so sooner or later we must acquire this equipment if our intention is to progress in the world of music.
I have always been passionate about music but the truth is that I am not a professional musician. However, composing songs and audio tracks has been my hobby for many, many years. In my computer I have a few projects that I have constantly wanted to "bring to reality", that is to say, to play all those songs with real instruments but, I had not had the opportunity to have the appropriate equipment to make the respective recordings.
For this reason I went on a long search hoping to get the right materials to record myself in a professional manner. In my long journey I identified that one of those necessary elements was an audio interface or also called sound card. This is an electronic device whose function is to convert the analog signals from our instruments to digital signals that the computer can process. Unfortunately I realized that these products were extremely expensive and as I said before that music is not something that I dedicate myself professionally so I left that chapter on hold.
Time went by and I saw that audio interfaces dropped in price considerably. Indeed, making music today is a bit "cheaper" than it was a few years ago. I finally made up my mind and after searching tons of information I purchased the Arturia Minifuse 2 sound card.
This is an interface that brings together everything you need to record your instruments in a professional and simple way, and thanks to its dimensions it is very versatile so you can take it anywhere and start producing music.
Let's talk about its features. The Arturia Minifuse 2 features the professional 192 Khz 24-bit recording standard. It offers a fairly clean sound with a signal/noise ratio of -129 dB. On the front we have 2 inputs to connect our instruments (guitar, bass, piano, microphone, etc.) Its construction is well done with a fairly solid materials. The gain potentiometers are an experience because they feel very good to the touch. We have high impedance switches, phantom power (48V) and headphone monitoring output.
At the rear we will find the audio outputs. Input and output for MIDI instruments, a USB hub to connect for example a synthesizer or keyboard. We also have the USB type c connection. No power supply is required, making it even easier to transport.
Additionally, with the purchase of this product we will have 4 Arturia VSTs which are super cool and sound great. Among these softwares we have: Analog Lab Intro, Delay TAPE 201, Reverb Plate 140 and Chorus Jun-6. These programs are paid but come totally free with the purchase of the Minifuse.
With so many options on the market I ended up buying this model because its price-performance ratio is one of the best (if not the best at the moment). With a price of $150 we will get a product with super professional features. I am not exaggerating when I say that this Minifuse 2 is a miniature recording studio. When testing this equipment with my guitar I could perceive the extraordinary clarity that its pre-amplifiers offer. Highly recommended for those who want to get started in the world of music or who want to take their sound to the next level. In the video I analyze a little more in detail this sound board.

Improving sound quality is essential for the growth and strengthening of our content, either: podcasts, streamings, etc. You need your audience to "hear" you clearly and without annoying noises that affect the transmission. The endless struggle against the "price" factor is something that many of us live when selecting the corresponding technological equipment, that's right, the peripherals available on the market sometimes go out of hand in terms of economy.
However, the content creator must assume the price that comes with the production of audiovisual material. Fortunately, there are quite interesting and reasonably priced options that allow us to improve our audio without bankrupting us. Specifically, in this post I will be presenting my experience having acquired the Fifine T669 microphone.
Fifine is not one of the most representative brands in terms of microphones is concerned, is a growing company but has opted for a solid strategy, efficient and low-budget consumers appreciate enough, ie, the Asian company manages to provide very good quality devices at quite reasonable prices. But not only give you a cheap product, the quality of materials and performance of the microphone in question is highly competitive with other copies of more expensive brands and in my opinion, this model the T669, is at the height of other microphones for professional use.
This model, the T669 is an "upgrade" of its twin the Fifine K669B, which I purchased a year ago but with the variation that the first includes the metal boom kit and other accessories that help improve the audio greatly. The truth is that the microphone has a fairly well designed, has a metal body that feels good to the touch, is solid and sturdy. It is characterized mainly by being a condenser microphone which is already a clear indication of the audio quality that this device can deliver.
Likewise, the fifine is connected by USB cable which makes it extremely easy to install, no drivers to install and no other equipment is needed to get it started.
What I like most about this equipment is its price, I bought it on amazon for about 50 USD, a more than reasonable figure for the high quality concentrated in this terminal.

Chess is still quite active in HIVE, today we played the third round of the Friday tournamentSorganized by @stayoutoftherz, this time I leave with a bittersweet taste and is that almost "almost" managed to win the tournament but in the last rounds I had several setbacks that cost me the championship, in the end I got third place which is not bad but I leave with the feeling that I could have done even more, however this still continues and anything can happen, this is a great opportunity to keep learning and improving I will try to accumulate good results in the upcoming tournaments.
@samostically was the winner, curiously I have not been able to play a game against him in any of the hiveches tournaments so far I hope to face him soon xd, @cocacolaron was positioned in 2nd place with whom by the way I got a score of 1 to 1 against him, a win and a loss.
@realdeadleaf got an excellent 4th place, I must say that our game was decided by a blunder from him since his position was quite good and I didn't really get much in the opening.
@sawko this time got a 5th place, quite far from his usual throne but it seems to me that it was a product of the match play, he repeatedly faced very strong players, in our game I got material advantage but I could not finish due to time problems and a perpetual check ended the game in a draw.

Let's take a look at some of my games Today we played a 7+0 tournament which is a quite reasonable time, also this makes the bersek easier but anyway the game is quite extended and in an arena tournament this can be a bit detrimental, even so I tried to play as fast as possible to score more points, sometimes this strategy worked well, sometimes not so much xd
@sawko vs @vjap55
Sawko played his usual Indian king attack but at this moment things did not go so well, his pieces are badly placed and the activity of the black pieces is dominant, after the move 15...)d5! white cannot avoid the loss of material, the game continued with 16)exd5 Qxd5 17)Nfd2 Qe6 18)Bb2 and with my move b5 black simply has a decisive advantage. After a few more moves, I almost ran out of time and had to give this perpetual check in the final position, a bit disappointing but that's blitz.
@cocacolaron vs @vjap55 Well, in this game I overlooked a basic tactical issue and lost the game. The position is really balanced, black is about to finish the development and there doesn't seem to be any concrete threat or problem.
White played 12)Ne5 with which I responded with the natural 12...)Nxe5 and here comes White's attempt, 13)Bf4 pinning the knight, I simply had to move the queen to a safe place and let the recpture on e5 with which the game would continue normally, for example, taking the queen to b4 seems interesting but I made the terrible mistake 13...)Bb7?? and White simply won a piece on e5, 14)dxe5
@vjap55 vs @realdeadleaf As I said at the beginning, in this game I got almost nothing in the opening, my opponent played quite well and I considered his position very playable. In the diagram above my opponent had a blunder and gives away the knight, but I think this ending should be a draw, the c4 pawn can't advance so easily, in fact the bishop blocks this advance very well, maybe 26...)Nb6 27)Bd3 Bc5 and I don't see how White can progress.
@tony1294 vs @vjap55 I liked this game very much, it shows the tenacious defense, white seems to have some initiative on the kingside but everything is controlled, although I have a very passive knight on f8 it defends the structure very well and prevents any sacrifice on g6.
Things are well controlled on the kingside so I can play freely on the queenside 26...)Nb4 27)Bb1 c5! a good move that attacks the center directly and creates a lot of mismatch, if White takes on c5 Black could continue with d4 and the center would be totally dominated by the second player. The game continued for many more moves and in the rush of time I was able to win.
@stayoutoftherz vs @vjap55 I'm trying to think what happened in this game, I had an incredibly good position from the beginning, I think I talked too much and I ran out of time very fast, at this moment for some strange reason I got paralyzed, I had a lapse, I thought I lost a piece or something but the truth is that my position is still pretty good, I rushed a lot of time and my clock reached zero.
@vjap55 vs @pereu4uwatch Gentleman, this is just an extra rook, I have no idea how I lost this... the worst of it is that if I had won this game, which was the logical result of having an extra rook, I could have achieved more in the tournament.
Well these were some of the most interesting moments I played in this tournament, leave me in the comments how was your experience in this tournament, do you have any game to analyze?
See you tomorrow at the @schamangerbert tournament, on Sunday at the chess brothers league (@chessbrotherspro) and at monday in the checkmate coin torunament hosted by @hive-129589

@sawko sawko sawko sawko, yeah this dude is back and it looks like he wants to take it all in this season. With an incredible score of 30 points and a high bersek rate he managed to win the 2nd round of the HIVE Friday tournament, an event organized by @stayoutoftherz.
39 players came to this tournament, I am impressed by how many players are joining this hive event each time. @tungphong is having a tough time and it looks like a strong opponent has finally arrived to face him. The fight continues but this time the Vietnamese player settles for second place.
@eniolw, as always in the first places keeps the chase and is waiting for one of the two favorites to fall, we already know that he has a great level and can produce good games against @sawko for example, in this tournament he could give a blow to the champion.
@cocacolaron still had a good tournament, he got the 4th place, and he keeps playing high level chess.
@wildthoughts ranked number 5 with 18 points and @jaki01 scored 17 points to rank sixth.
As for my performance it was much better than last week, with 17 points I placed in the number 7 position close to the leaders, I think I'm doing better playing on the phone xd. I'm still making adjustments in my studio so my desktop is still not available, I recorded all my games from the phone and well I think I play better, this was a 3+1 tournament the time was very short and with the phone is easier for me to make the pre moves.
You can find the games and results of this round here
My games of this round
I played 10 games, 6 wins, two draws and two losses, not bad but there is still room for improvement. Here are the games I played in the hive chess tournament:
@rosmarly vs @vjap55 @vjap55 vs @tony1294
@nftland1989
@stayoutoftherz vs @vjap55
@realdeadleaf vs @vjap55
@vjap55 vs ajedrezclub2t
@franu vs @vjap55
@wildthougts vs @vjap55
@cocacolaron vs @vjap55
@vjap55 vs mandeo
Analyzing the most painful blunders
In this position against Mandeo I had the strong continuation 22)Bxh7 and the game would end quickly with a forceful attack, 22...)Kxh7 23)Qh5 and there is no salvation for Black, instead, I played 22)Bh6 with some similar attacking ideas but did not achieve much, however the game continued and ....
Total equality, but I played the horrible 32)Qh6??? and Black got mate, 32)Qxg2# :s
Against @tony1294I reached a very advantageous position in the dragon, I played my Yugoslavian attack with success but at this critical moment I failed in the calculation.
I played 22) Qxh5?? (curiously the move 22 same as in the previous game lol) and I thought I would win the piece, but this is a mistake because the white king is left without defense, according to the analysis the game is won with 22)Qxe7 a strange move but that contains a very interesting idea, for example, if 22...)Rxc3 then white plays 23)Rxg6+ Kh7 24)Rh6+ Kxh6 25)Qg5 Kh7 26)Qxh5+ and white just wins.
Well, another tournament, another day to keep learning and improving in chess.
See you tomorrow at the @schamangerbert tournament and on Sunday at the chess brothers league (@chessbrotherspro).

English It seemed that we had had enough chess in the closing of 2021, with the fight for the World Championship and then the celebration of the world championships of blitz and rapid chess, the euphoria of the science sport was raised to the top. However the action on the board does not stop and this 2022 is already underway and with it the chess players gather once again, this time the city of Wijk aan Zee is the epicenter of the great event "Tata Steel" a tournament that represents one of the largest competitions in terms of organization, specifically this is the 84th edition which indicates the sustained tradition and commitment involved in this championship.
The Tata Steel is an elite championship in which the best players in the world come together, arguably one of the strongest contests throughout the year.
Let's take a look at the players who have been called up:
Source

Let's analyze the game of Grandelius vs Rapport. In this game we can appreciate the incredible strength of the black player, after a quite theoretical opening white took a dynamic game and managed to control the center of the board without major inconveniences, at the same time they developed the thematic attack by the king's wing making clear their intentions of initiative, however Rapport, who is a great connoisseur of the Sicilian was not intimidated by the deployment of Grandelius and showed a cold defense against the thrust of white. White's pieces sacrificed a pawn in the middlegame which complicated the valorization of the position, but, this did not progress to a greater advantage.
White in his eagerness to open lines was left with a much worse position and Rapport with his tactical ingenuity broke through the ranks of his opponent's long castling, finally, after the disappearance of the black squared bishop the weakness in these squares was highly pronounced and White could not evade the threat of mate.
In the video I talk in detail about these variations.
This is my first article of the year published in the community of @fulldeportes, I hope that the content shared is to your liking, soon I will be posting more current issues in terms of chess is concerned, greetings and see you in a new presentation.
