This episode is jam-packed with hot tips, and gems for anyone who has a business, wants to open a business, or wants to partner in business.

Here is a little more about this dynamic duo:
Samantha and James started their commission salon, Samantha James Hair Design, in 2016 with the idea of creating an inviting atmosphere and having fun doing what they love. However, they quickly learnt how important it was to push the boundaries of the industry to stay relevant and at the forefront. Today, they have created a successful, Eco-friendly, 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusive space; they were the first to bring several initiatives to their Winnipeg salon, including silent services, and choose to put education at the core of their business.

Through many trials and errors, Samantha and James have figured out the importance of a partnership and what it means to the success or failure of a business. They have set boundaries, built systems and created policies over their seven years to help them not only keep sane but help more than double their stylist income, grow strong brand recognition and leave them debt free.

I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did

Talking about mental health, mental illness, and even suicide is not something we are encouraged to do in beauty school, but in today's episode, we go there.

This episode is a much listen for any small business owner who wants to take their business to the next level. We discuss the concept of INTELLIGENT HUDDLES™️ and how they are a MUST to help you reach the next level of your business!

A little more about our guest:
Andrea Hemmer is one of the most exciting, successful, and intellectual new leaders in the
Salon and Beauty Industry.
Just as the economy was crashing in 2008, Andrea opened the Boise location of Lunatic
Fringe. The salon thrived because of her deep curiosity and thoughtful study of neuroscience
related to human behavior. What she discovered was the salon's success hinged on the
emotional intelligence of the leadership as much as it did on the bottom line.
Andrea infused her neuroscience training in her everyday interactions with her stylists. This
thoughtful study of those around her helped her learn what actions strengthened the culture of
the workplace and the individuals as well. It was her commitment to open communication that
made the largest impact on the salon. Andrea started each workday at the salon the same way,
with a daily huddle.
Andrea now focuses on supporting other businesses and team leaders to implement her
communication tools and systems in their environments. Her program centers on building a
foundation of self-awareness, mindfulness, and inner-evaluation to have the ability to adapt
and pivot through rapid change. Andrea’s gift for mentorship and her unique blending of
neuroscience, mindfulness, and spirituality led her to create the groundbreaking program,
Intelligent HuddlesTM.
