What is it in the water that’s affecting the women in Memphis? R. Major no longer sees abortion as a “moral issue.” WTH is he drinking? What is Justin Bieber and The Hillsong Church drinking, snorting and/or injecting? Or are they all working together? Yes, ladies and gentlemen! These are the topics that were on our mind in this particular episode! Raine raises the question, are parents actually raising their children or becoming their best friend. R. Major has discovered what love looks like. He recently had a Gall Bladder procedure and he shares with us how his wife and grown children would not leave him alone! He shares with us how they did nothing but showed him love throughout his recovery process! And finally, Diddy? I include the question mark because I’m not exactly sure how they got to him, but once they did, they didn’t leave him. The reason for the question mark is in regard to how fast this story became such a non-story and what does it actually say about him and what his accuser alleged against him?! Hmm, our curious trio is only a duo on this episode, but a lot of knowledge and insight into the music industry is shared in this particular episode of broken word! As we always say, we hope you enjoy this episode and always remember to open your mind! As U may know, we have changed the way we do things just a tad! We open the show with one simple question. What’s on your mind? And we go from there! Our sister comes in with some serious stuff on her mind! She discusses with us the danger of not addressing childhood issues in therapy and how it affects you unconsciously in your adult life! We have the resources to help heal ourselves. Why not use them? We have our theories and what is unusual for us, we don’t disagree or even bump heads this episode. We agree that addressing your mental health is no less important than addressing your physical health! Even your employer is giving you access to free sessions! At the end of the day, it is up to you and us to take care of ourselves in this respect! That old school mentality is just that, OLD! We hope you enjoy listening to this episode, but more importantly, we pray you adhere to this episode! This is not a weather report, forecast or prediction. Ladies and gentlemen, “It’s Gonna Rain” is the debut novel from our multi personality host, R. Major. It’s a story about a church playing church, coming soon to a church near you, if it ain’t already there! Antonio could not be with us on this episode, so it’s Raine and R. Major breaking word and discussing his fictional debut. Because of the theme of the book, they dive into a little church conversation as well. We hope you enjoy and just in case you’re interested in reading it, you can find it at Amazon as a paperback or download it to your kindle as an ebook. It is also available at Apple Book store and Barnes & Noble online. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/r-major/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/r-major/support

There are nine hundred thousand African American registered in the state of Louisiana, but less than a third voted in the recent gubernatorial race. What The Hell? How do we promote change if we don’t give a damn to show up and vote change? When are we going to understand that a “No Vote” is a vote for the other side? What it says is that we DO NOT CARE. We don’t care about our community, our family’s present or future. WE MUST UNDERSTAND that the local elections are just as important if not more important than the national elections. Why is this? It’s rather simple, it impacts you directly and even moreso immediately, so again, I ask, LOUISIANA, What The Hell?--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/r-major/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/r-major/support

Do you pick a side? If so, who do you pick? That’s a VERY easy question to answer: The men, women, children and innocent babies who did not push a button to initiate or respond to this conflict. What is the difference between what Israel is doing versus what Hamas did? Who suffered and who is suffering now? Clearly there are NO winners. And let us not forget about the hostages who have yet to be released or found. Also, how do we know that Israel hasn’t actually killed some of the hostages themselves with their recent bombing activity. I’m not saying that there shouldn’t be a retaliation for what was done. What I am saying is or better yet I am repeating that I care about the people who have absolutely nothing to do with this. Perhaps, it’s because I relate to them easily. These people who did not commit any acts of aggression upon other innocent people who were simply enjoying themselves at a musical festival and celebrating life. That’s who I care about. Why do I care about them so much? That could be us. I mean like for real, for real! Is he actually going to go to the BIG House and share a cell with Big Baby, be in the neighborhood with Peanut, Slim and Killa? And still be PRESIDENT? Ohh, HELLO NO……Hell Yeah! Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, it is theoretically possible that the President of These United States could possibly run the government from a jail cell. Technically speaking, there is no law that prohibits it. The sad part is that common sense should tell you that there’s no need for something like that to have to be written into law, but I did say “These United States…..SMH--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/r-major/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/r-major/support

What do I mean by “falsely in prison?” I’m glad you asked. What I mean is that everyone believes and knows that your husband or wife is innocent of the crime, but a jury “of their peers” finds them guilty. Now what? What do you do as the devoted partner? Do you wait for them? Do you fight for them? In your vows, you said “Til death do us part.” Some may argue that this is worse. What would you do if you had the choice of reversing a decision that you made everyday or having an extra ten seconds added to your day to make a decision. Antonio posed this question after speaking with a friend who was reading a book that posed this little dilemma. And yes, of course the question is posed in reverse regarding men and their respect towards black women. The thought derived from a clip I viewed on IG and we decided to discuss this somewhat delicate matter? The answers our trio offer are interesting and in a way defines where we are as a people, at least in the complicated arena of relationships. Where does it start and how do we get where we’re supposed to be? We hope this conversation blesses and provokes further thought within the community. “I don’t deserve to live. I killed them on purpose because I’m not good enough to care for them.” This is what Nurse Lucy Letby said in a memo. She was referencing the 13 babies she attacked. These babies were left in her care. This woman of course was entrusted by doctors, fellow colleagues, and of course the parents giving birth to watch over and care for their defenseless and completely innocent creatures. She secretly attacked them physically, overfed them or simply injected them with insulin. There is no room in this episode for debate nor is there room for disagreement. This is simply sad. We ask that you keep the the families lifted in prayer.

Whether you have listened to this podcast just a few times or every episode, you know that we just love to ask questions and challenge each other. Well on this episode we welcome Dr. Tammmelle Wells-Derbigny to The Gospel Truth to discuss her experience as a former member of the Jehovah Witness Faith. She answers the question above and many more. Some questions are answered before they are even asked. Her dissertation is titled “Psychological After Effects of Ex Cult Members Socially and Academically While In School.” Dr. Wells-Derbigny goes into detail about everything asked and edits nothing about anything. The theme of this particular episode is posed as a question. With the the given response, there is no doubt in the answer provided. We always say we ain’t doing nothing but having healthy conversation. This conversation however was really eye opening as well. As we always say, open your mind! God Bless

Forgiveness is a spiritual principle that as believers we are taught to do per the Bible so we can also be forgiven. Upon further study, we learn that forgiveness is for the person who is doing the forgiving more than it is for the person being forgiven. That part actually makes more sense to me and actually helped me to become more forgiving and stop holding on to the transgression that began to imprison me in the first place, but depending on the trauma, whether emotional, physical or both, does knowing this make forgiving any easier? This is the topic we tackle here at The Gospel Truth this episode. We hope you enjoy and leave this episode in joy. God Bless

Per npr.org tens of thousands of African American women and young girls go missing each year here in America. The sad part is that whenever this happens to our mothers, daughters, sisters, cousins, friends, girlfriends and/or wives, no one outside of the black community gives a damn. We have to take on the role of the police and investigator. The most surprising thing that happened with this most recent event involving Carlee Russell is how quickly the authorities got involved. Although it was a hoax, it did help to bring light to sex trafficking in this country, which is a topic that is not discussed enough. And what should also cause us to worry is how much less attention may be given when this happens the next time and it is not a hoax. And YES, this will happen again. The sad part is that it’s happening right now.

“What ‘chu talking’ bout Willis?” “What The Hell?” These words were my initial thoughts at this particular topic. My second thought was Antonio is clowning around and being jokingly vulgar. And of course, I was wrong again. And for any off the wall thinkers and science nerds, this is not some new discovery in outer space. It is (Drum Roll Please) the new term to be used for Vagina! First they came for abortion rights, a couple of weeks ago, they came for Affirmative Action. Today they come against nature. The scariest part in all of this is this is not a joke! I guess next, they’ll be coming after healthy conversation. As we often say, this is some Bullshit.

Just in case you didn’t hear, SCOTUS aka The Supreme Court of These United States showed their asses last week when they decided to gut Affirmative Action from universities and colleges. Some people are saying, “So What?, What’s The Big Deal?” This decision initially impacts minorities (African American and Latinos specifically) on the surface, but take a listen to find out who the biggest beneficiary was from Affirmative Action, yet they still applaud the decision. Ahh, the struggles.

Or how about “Get The Hell Out of My Pulpit or Else.” In the words of Marvin Gaye, WTH is going on. Sorry Marvin, that’s my version of your words. The Southern Baptist Convention has decided that women are no longer allowed to lead congregations. That honor, if it still is one, responsibility and/or calling is only open to men. I must emphasize that this decision was made by man and I highly doubt that God was consulted. Why? Why now? Again, WTH is going on? Normally, we here at The Gospel Truth engage in what we lovingly refer to as “Healthy Conversation.” This is not that! With this decision, what are we actually saying about women and their role in the church as well as the world we live in? We always close each episode with three words…..Open Your Mind. It’s titled here as a question, however Bishop T. D. Jakes, the pastor and founder of The Potter’s House located in Dallas, Texas declared this as a matter of fact. This message was actually delivered on Father’s Day and two and a half minutes of this message was highlighted on YouTube. It has been viewed over six hundred thousand times and has caused quite a stir. We dig into this with our thoughts and opinions. As usual, we agree and disagree with each other over the conversations that this has started and the chaos that has been stirred. Does the statement have validity? If so, who’s to blame? How do we correct this going forward? Why now? Some of the questions of course, we are unable to answer and can only speculate, but we do our best to arrive to some conclusions, at least!

For 50 years woman have been able to go to sleep with the comfort of knowing they have a choice when it comes their reproductive rights. Now that constitutional right has been removed. While we have some communities celebrating and considering this decision a victory, we have others who consider this a major blow and setback for women everywhere. Is this a moral issue? Is this political? Is this a power play or simply a means to display power and control? Is this the beginning of a thing or the end? In the wake of Roe vs. Wade these are all valid questions, but I fear only time will provide those highly anticipated answers. Our crew comes together to discuss and share our thoughts and experiences with you. We pray you enjoy!

The place: Uvalde, Texas. 21 Victims. 19 of them were children. There were 19 cops on the scene who DID NOT stop the assailant as soon as they could have. There are no words to describe the ongoing epidemic that unfortunately appears exclusive to these United States! “Why and what the hell is going on” are the understandable and usual questions that permeate our minds, but now we just need it to stop. How do we stop it? What is the solution? Those are the questions that need to be asked and answered before the next time.

8 days ago, an 18 year old white male walked into a community grocery store and killed 10 black people for no apparent reason other than the color of their skin. He can be considered “broken.” If the script was flipped we know that the headline would have been considerably different than the reality of what we read. Hence: The System. It feels as if it is a waste of time to ask “why?” The real question to ask is how do we fix it? “How do we fix it?” is the enormous question and task that faces us when the system was not designed for us from the inception. This is the topic brought to our table of discussion today by our sister Lorraine. We invite your comments and critique by emailing us at thegospeltruthnobs@gmail.com

Perhaps, as a society we will never see it manifest, but that doesn’t mean within this chaotic world of ours we cannot build our own! Hmmm
